Electrify My Home replaced our gas furnace with a Daikin electric heat pump and replace all of our duct work. To be clear, Electrify My Home will likely not provide the cheapest estimate for your project, however, in my experience you get what you pay for and the quality of their service is high. Overall, we are happy with the results and would using Electrify My Home. We knew that our home's HVAC system was on it's last leg so I spent hours researching units, contractors, rebates, tax credits, etc. We knew that we wanted an electric heat pump system, not a gas furnace. I frankly found it challenging to find contracts that were responsive and knowledgeable about electric heat pumps. Many contractors did not respond in reasonably amount of time or told me that our electric panel could not handle a heat pump. Electrify My Home was different - they were very responsive and knowledgeable. First, I appreciated that they offered a virtual consultation to start the process. Through this virtual visit they explained their philosophy on electrification and HVAC, and were clear that we could install a heat pump with my existing electrical panel. After accepting the quote, the install was schedule for about a month later. A little longer than I would have hoped, but from talking with other contractor at the times it was normal given product stock and demand. The installation time took about 4 full days. This included removing existing units and duct work, install new units and duct work, and finishing with insulation. After installation the unit was working fine, although we didn't really need to use it that much given the moderate temperatures at the time. Fast forward about 2 months when the temperatures got a bit colder and the heat mode kicked in, or at least it was supposed to kick in. Unfortunately, it was not producing heat. I contacted Electrify My Home and they were able to come out within 24 hours. They discovered a leak in the unit and the unit needed to be replaced. They were able to secure a new unit and install the new unit within a few days. It was unclear to me if the leak had been present initially and should have been identified earlier, hence the 4-star rating rather than 5-stars. Even with the replacement unit, I've found Electrify My Home to very responsive and helpful throughout the process. I'd recommend using them for any electrification projects - in fact, I'm discussing additional projects with them right now. read more

Electrify My Home recently replaced the hot water heater with a Bradford & White heat pump water heater. From the beginning the communication in the process and leading up to the work being done was a pleasant experience, in these day of non-customer service, Thank you Alicia! When Xeviar came in the morning to repace the water heater I had started draining the draining, which I have done over the years, Xeviar was pleasntly suprised and thanked me for the help. Xeviar with the help of Gabe insalled the heat pump making many of the upgrades to the utilities with a priority to detail. These folk made it easy to say goodbye to gas: they installed a heat pump HVAC system, heat pump water heater and an electric stove. They were very efficient and impressive, clean, fast, knowledgeable. My home doesn't have enough of an electric supply to supply the heat pumps and our electric car and a 240 volt stove, so they suggested we get the Copper stove that runs off an ordinary 120 volt outlet. It was way more expensive than I would want to pay for a stove, but still cheaper than upgrading our electric supply. So now we have brilliant Copper stove. EMH helped us get the rebates as well, delivering two big checks to us. I should add that we got to EMH from working with QuitCarbon, who we were told was an excellent guide to the process, and so they were. This project of electrifying your home is expensive! We did it because of receiving an unexpected legacy, and because it is a very tangible thing we can do about climate change. read more

They were the only company to come up with an idea that solved a problem in our house. We wanted to replace our aging gas water heater before it died and we wanted to reclaim its closet as a pantry. Electrify My Home's CEO, Larry, was the only person who had the idea that got us what we wanted: a split system heat pump water heater (SanCO2) that allowed us to move the tank into the crawl space and have the compressor outside. It's not a cheap system but it is very quiet and very efficient. It is exactly what we need and we couldn't be happier after the first half year of use. I had few concerns with the initial installation, which Electrify My Home addressed to my full satisfaction. I was very satisfied with the work done by Electrify My Home. We hired them to replace our gas wall heater with a heat pump as well as our gas water heater with a heat pump water heater. We chose them because while they were not the lowest bidder, their prices were fair and they sounded the most knowledgeable about the engineering behind the electrification process. After getting quotes from multiple vendors for a heat pump HVAC replacing an old gas furnace, here is why I picked them: -EXPERTISE: the founder trains contractors on how to do home decarbonization/electrification. He leads webinars with PG&E and others to train people. It's kind of like picking a doctor - if you find someone who teaches other doctors - you know they're good. -MISSION ALIGNED: their goal is whole home electrification, not just swapping out an appliance. The founder is very savvy about this stuff; he's not just a guy with a truck, he's really smart and thoughtful about optimizing everything for quality and not just putting in a bigger unit than what we actually need. This year, our family was looking at replacing and potentially upgrading our family water heater. Considering we were looking at moving away from traditional gas, Larry and EMH were on our list as a great referral from my brother-in-law. Consulting with Larry was very straightforward and easy. He explained how a HPWH would work in our space. Most importantly, Larry was very knowledgeable about all of the available incentives to us from state and federal entities. This helped make a HPWH work for us in our home. Installation was completed ahead of schedule and took no more than a morning for them to do. An issue did come up during installation, but Larry made it right for our family. Absolutely fantastic experience. I interviewed several companies to install a brand new, whole-house heating and cooling system. From the get-go electrify my home was by far the most impressive. They had a a very comprehensive and coherent presentation that laid out all of the options they provided and why they felt that they were ideally suited to provide these services. On top of that, they turned out to also have the lowest bid of the three companies I was working with (I would have gone with them even if they hadn't been the cheapest - it was just a nice benefit). After a headache of constant appliance failures in our new home (dishwasher, washer, and garbage disposal), we were at our wits end when our furnace also died within the first month. My husband had just come out of the hospital at the same time, so having working heat was paramount. Then came Alex and Larry to the rescue. We had Electrify My Home install a heat pump and hot water heat pump, plus they also added some blow-in insulation in our attic. All of the work was very well done. We had issues with the thermostat, and they quickly reinstalled a new one (and an upgraded one for no charge). They also handled all of the permit and testing that was required. Their bid was also very reasonable compared to the two other HVAC companies that we had give an estimate. Overall, I would highly recommend them -- super knowledgeable about options and the new heat pump works great: much quieter than our old gas furnace and MUCH cheaper to run. read more
