Nic provided a very comprehensive presentation and walked us through the process. They provided an initial estimate, then came for a home visit to verify a few things. The estimate did not increase. We were able to schedule an install for the following week. They also coordinated some asbestos removal work we needed done. Communication was quick and thorough. The installation was done by Xavier and his team of 4. INCREDIBLE. Very respectful of our space-- at the end of the day, even on the days where they were cutting holes in the wall or dragging out old equipment, you couldn't tell they were here. Xavier was also great with communicating each day's activities and hours, and was mindful of my working from home and family dog. At the end of the job he walked through and explained how to use the system, as well as next steps for our permitting and inspection processes. There was a problem with a disconnected hose that was taken care of the next day. They also noticed some the asbestos abatement was not completed, and took care of communicating with the vendor to correct it. Electrify My Home replaced our gas furnace with a Daikin electric heat pump and replace all of our duct work. To be clear, Electrify My Home will likely not provide the cheapest estimate for your project, however, in my experience you get what you pay for and the quality of their service is high. Overall, we are happy with the results and would using Electrify My Home. We knew that our home's HVAC system was on it's last leg so I spent hours researching units, contractors, rebates, tax credits, etc. We knew that we wanted an electric heat pump system, not a gas furnace. I frankly found it challenging to find contracts that were responsive and knowledgeable about electric heat pumps. Many contractors did not respond in reasonably amount of time or told me that our electric panel could not handle a heat pump. Electrify My Home was different - they were very responsive and knowledgeable. First, I appreciated that they offered a virtual consultation to start the process. Through this virtual visit they explained their philosophy on electrification and HVAC, and were clear that we could install a heat pump with my existing electrical panel. After accepting the quote, the install was schedule for about a month later. A little longer than I would have hoped, but from talking with other contractor at the times it was normal given product stock and demand. The installation time took about 4 full days. This included removing existing units and duct work, install new units and duct work, and finishing with insulation. After installation the unit was working fine, although we didn't really need to use it that much given the moderate temperatures at the time. Fast forward about 2 months when the temperatures got a bit colder and the heat mode kicked in, or at least it was supposed to kick in. Unfortunately, it was not producing heat. I contacted Electrify My Home and they were able to come out within 24 hours. They discovered a leak in the unit and the unit needed to be replaced. They were able to secure a new unit and install the new unit within a few days. It was unclear to me if the leak had been present initially and should have been identified earlier, hence the 4-star rating rather than 5-stars. Even with the replacement unit, I've found Electrify My Home to very responsive and helpful throughout the process. I'd recommend using them for any electrification projects - in fact, I'm discussing additional projects with them right now. read more

When Xeviar came in the morning to repace the water heater I had started draining the draining, which I have done over the years, Xeviar was pleasntly suprised and thanked me for the help. These folk made it easy to say goodbye to gas: they installed a heat pump HVAC system, heat pump water heater and an electric stove. They were very efficient and impressive, clean, fast, knowledgeable. My home doesn't have enough of an electric supply to supply the heat pumps and our electric car and a 240 volt stove, so they suggested we get the Copper stove that runs off an ordinary 120 volt outlet. It was way more expensive than I would want to pay for a stove, but still cheaper than upgrading our electric supply. So now we have brilliant Copper stove. EMH helped us get the rebates as well, delivering two big checks to us. I should add that we got to EMH from working with QuitCarbon, who we were told was an excellent guide to the process, and so they were. This project of electrifying your home is expensive! We did it because of receiving an unexpected legacy, and because it is a very tangible thing we can do about climate change. read more

They will visit your house and do an assessment of square footage, window and door quality, attic insulation level, etc. and provide a solution customized to your house's specific situation. I think in general I tend to drive the contractors nuts with a relentless assault of questions both prior to, during, and after the project's completion. Everyone at Electrify My Home was very patient with my questions , taking time to explain things happily and without hesitation. Build wise, it's very solid. The condensers are installed on the shaded side of the property, and they are whisper quiet. No gurgling or humming or any other annoying sounds I've seen in lower quality setups. They were also able to put both the air mover and the water tank in the attic, which freed up a ton of space in the house for other things. They also do quite a bit to help to guide you through the various rebates that are available, both through the equipment makers and from the various levels of government (state/federal tax breaks.) Really I can't say enough good things about this company. The only downside was it was expensive, but having gotten a few quotes from competing firms, they are competitive. It's just a lot of labor, and full home electrification involves expensive equipment. I don't think most people are forward thinking enough to invest heavily in making their homes eco friendly but for those that are, this is a great company to work with, and I'm loving my new setup! read more

They were the only company to come up with an idea that solved a problem in our house. We wanted to replace our aging gas water heater before it died and we wanted to reclaim its closet as a pantry. Electrify My Home's CEO, Larry, was the only person who had the idea that got us what we wanted: a split system heat pump water heater (SanCO2) that allowed us to move the tank into the crawl space and have the compressor outside. It's not a cheap system but it is very quiet and very efficient. It is exactly what we need and we couldn't be happier after the first half year of use. Electrify My Home (EMH) replaced our furnace with a heat pump and also our water heater. From the initial presentation via video chat to the end of the process EMH was awesome. The plan developed and presented by Larry was a better thought out design than those presented by other contractors - EMH was able to allow us to user our existing 100 amp electrical service rather than waiting for PG&E to upgrade us to a 200 amp service. One of the large benefits of EMH is that they handled the full installation - electrical, equipment, plumbing, insulation, application for rebates & permitting. There was no one saying that something was another contractor's area. EMH even assisted in zero interest financing. Daniel performed the first site visit and was able to point out some items that we hadn't considered. The result was that our system was installed with minimal changes to the initial plan. That meant no surprises! The crew that came out for installation was top notch. During my professional career, I'd worked with many contractors and EMH ranks at the top. David came out to prepare the electrical system and was extremely professional, beyond competent, efficient and courteous. Dominic and his crew, likewise, did an excellent job. We had issues with the thermostat, and they quickly reinstalled a new one (and an upgraded one for no charge). They also handled all of the permit and testing that was required.
