I'm a longtime customer of Infotech. Over the years, we've bought custom built PCs from them, had PC repairs done and bought peripheral hardware from them. Most recently, I took my husband's PC in to them to have Windows 11 installed on it. Each and every time I've done business with them, I have been very pleased with their service. The last time I went in (which was about a week ago), I found out there is only one person working there, though there have been more people working there in the past. He told me he would very much like to have more than one person but has had a hard time finding someone. Regardless, he was friendly and very helpful in explaining the work he would do and how much it would cost. He also indicated that he would let me know if anything went wrong or if he needed to discuss anything. The work went well, and the price was very reasonable. Installed a terrible power supply for my PC (i got my power supply replaced here and they charged me $250 to install a $50 Thermaltake 700W which is a terrible PSU combined with my RTX 3080. This PSU has a tier f rating on the cultist network, I feel like they cut corners and did not chose the best hardware for my system. read more

He did a thorough run through of the equipment and fixed the fans and a couple of other things without an additional charge. He helped me think through the best ways to resolve the issue. I've been using InfoTech as my primary parts/accessories/system builder since 2010. Their prices are competitive, and generally, their counter guys know their stuff. Custom built systems are taking about 2 days from order to completion (I've had 5 systems built overt the last month), and thier prices are good enough to allow me a little margin when installing them for a client. They keep a stock of all the last minute "dammits" that I might need... cables, jacks, power supplies, WiFi stuff - you name it. While there may not be a wide selection of brands for a given category, they at least have "one of everything". In the days of the big-box stores or online outfits dominating the industry, Infotech stands out as a great local source for what's needed. Support your local computer store! read more

We had taken in a hard drive with all our family pictures on it that didn't seem to be working. We had received a call from someone (not Andrew) at Infotech saying that it could not be fixed, all was lost and to come pick it up...I was in tears. When my husband got there he was greeted by Andrew who decided to check it again... and we are sure glad he did... all was not lost and it was all safely transferred to a new device. Thank you Andrew! The only "negative" we can say was that it was pretty horrible to get the first call saying all was lost then it was super duper (you could never guess) expensive to have them transfer all the data from one device to another. read more

I had been a loyal customer at Infotech for nearly 20 years, built several computers for myself and for friends. I'm back in the market to build a new custom PC, so I contacted them about parts. Unfortunately, their selection of quality products has reduced dramatically over the years and I was directed by their salesperson to purchase from an outside vendor. Salesperson and technicians used to be extremely helpful but now can't seem to be bothered by customer questions. I called again today to ask a couple of simple questions on my custom PC build but salesperson had someone come into the store...understandable. I asked if I could talk with a tech real quick and I was told that "all calls go through me". I was told that their tech doesn't want to talk to anyone. The response blew me away! Oh well, their poor customer service lost them a loyal customer. Not only will I never do business there again, but I will also direct anyone/everyone to steer clear. read more

*****Rip off alert**** Do you ever wonder why your older computer seems so much slower now than it was in the past? Well now I know why my computer is so much slower. They stole my 2800+ processor and replaced it with a slower 1.25 ghz AND stole my video card!!! Years ago my emachine t2825 needed a new motherboard so I had it done here. I used this computer for work stuff mostly and didn't notice things right away. I played a video game for the first time in a long time, one I played on this computer many times before, and I thought "why is it running soo slow, and the video is all jerky and pixelated" I went into the devise manager to see about settings and noticed my video card was not listed and it was some crap on board video! Well this was about a year after I had the work done, so I was thinking I was screwed. Turn the clock forward. Just last week I bought a new printer, bluetooth dongle monitor, etc at Staples and I was wondering if there was a cheap upgrade on the processor or something I could do to speed up that computer. I was checking for compatibility and such with my mother board and looking at my original config, as it is printed right on the case, and then I realized that they stole my processor and replaced it with a cheaper one as well! I double checked with my computer buddy just to make sure I wasn't flying off the cuff and, sure as shit, he said I had been had. Infotech, I'm sure I don't have my receipt anymore, I live a long ways from FW now and it's been a few years, so maybe you are legally off the hook. But I will warn people about your company whenever the topic of computers comes. This is not 'bad business', this is theft and that is a crime. read more

I "found" this place last year when I needed some internal cables. I am AMAZED at the sheer inventory of "parts" this place has, and the (relatively) VERY LOW PRICES charged for same. Needless to type, I found the cables I was looking for (misc. SATA and "drive power") and I had a pleasant chat with the Shopkeeper, who exhibited good knowledge of PC parts and systems. I'll consider Infotech for my next PC purchase as I'm sure I can get it "built to spec" at a Relatively Reasonable Price, and I'll keep visiting this place whenever I need "parts". read more

Not for my money. I took a laptop to this company to be repaired on August 1st. It wasn't charging. How long is your lead time? 3-4 days for laptops I was told. No call, so on August 7th I called and was told it wasn't repaired but "it was the next one." No call again, so on Monday, August 11th I go to the store. Not repaired, but "it's the next one." I took it to another company. Here's the issue. If they had told me they were backed up 10 days I may or may not have left the laptop for them to work on it but it would have been my choice. To lie about the lead time, lie about "it's the next one." isn't only bad business it questions the integrity of the company and many who work there. My recommendation is find another store, let this one go out of business. read more

This is a great place for do-it-yourselfers who want to save a few bucks by picking out their own computer hardware and having it built by some techies if uncomfortable doing it on your own. I prefer to pay them for that in case issues arise so I don't have to bang my head against the wall troubleshooting which they are also good for. Although for laptops or pre-built systems bought elsewhere I would deal with the manufacturer or the original retailer instead. I am still using my daily desktop PC that I had built by Infotech back in 2003. It has needed a lot of TLC over the years, and I have returned many times for new parts and supplies. They have a pretty decent selection of items, and have always had what I needed. I've been coming here for parts in general as far back as 2000. Pricing is relatively affordable although it's tough for anybody to beat NewEgg or TechBargains in most cases, but you don't have to worry about how your mail carrier handled your delicate hardware either. You could order some hardware online and still have Infotech build it as long as you confirm compatibility. With their help I have managed to keep my PC in ship shape for minimal cost. They've always accurately diagnosed my issue, and I've been happy with their service which is adequate. I had to have them installl a new motherboard for me about a year ago, and the floppy light is always on which means there are some wires crossed. I haven't had to use it anyway, but I know how to fix it if the warranty expires. I also really like that you can look up individual parts and prices online, something most local computer retailers don't offer. When it's finally time to get a new machine I will continue my business here. read more

So... this is going to be a two part review... Best Buy had my computer for over a week and couldn't figure out what is wrong with it. The guy actually told me that my computer was fine. Which, clearly, with it shutting down every time I open a game, it clearly is not. I've heard about Infotech from a few people so I drove straight over. I was greeted as soon as I walked in. The guy at the front answered all of my questions, was very polite. He offered to grab my tower from my car for me. The guy from the back wasn't very social or friendly, necessarily. But not rude either. I think I caught him in the middle of working on another PC. He said it would be 3-4 days until they would be able to check out my computer. Which, since they build PCs and actually know what they are doing... I'm okay with another long wait. I know exactly what is inside my computer. And though I can't imagine them actually taking anything from someone's PC, mostly because I'm not a shiesty person myself, I guess I will know if it happens to me! read more

I ran into problems on a home built system and I took it to Infotech for diagnosis. Lenny first checked some easy obvious possible problems before accepting my computer for service. When he analysed the computer, he checked out each component using a different computer. In the end there was only one problem and it was resolved in a timely and economical fashion. a young man cashing people out around 12:00 noon on 05/01/18 was very un-helpful I brought a system I had put together at Infotech Systems in Federal way the cost was $2600. my computer was having a very hard time running video (2 years latter) the young man would not take the time to plug it in (he stated thy was short on tech staff) would not even plug it in to let it boot to see if something was wrong or not wrong. I will not return there or do any computer shopping with them any more due to rude staff. I did go to Green P.C in Tacoma who helped me with out with out question!. I did end up buying a video card $740 to replace my card I recommend Green P.C over Infotech Systems! who could give a crap except to want you to put computer in there shop so thy can charge for diagnose charge. read more

Adam spent time talking with me about what I wanted to do with it, gave me solid recommendations, and set me up with everything I was after. After putting together the computer last night, things didn't turn on at all so I was rather devastated. I came in the next day to ask if I messed up the wiring. And to my surprise I hadn't; my power supply was bad. He took the time to install a new one and make sure my system boot up correctly before sending me on my way. I took my computer here because it was having some issues. I decided not to go to Best Buy, where my computer was bought, to try and save a little money.....worst idea ever. They fixed the issues but when I got my computer back they had taken off my Microsoft Office (which came with the computer). When I called to see if they could put it back on... "nope I'm sorry, unless you have the disc that it came on we can't help you." Well it would have been nice for them to ONE inform me that they were going to take off the microsoft office and TWO that they wouldn't be able to put it back on. I was having issues with my computer so I went to drop it off. I went in told them my issue.the tech told me they would check and it would take about a week.the very next day I get a call from a different person there and he was very rude. He told me that hp were not reliable and not to listen to there website for upgrade information. I told him I know they aren't that great but he shouldn't be telling me that and just tell me what he diagnosed. He told me he checked the ram,processor, and graphics card and couldn't find anything wrong. Then he continued to talk to me as if I had know idea what I was doing. I'm not a tech genius, but I'm familiar with allot of it. So I went home and checked one of the ram slots. Turns out one of my ram slots was damaged. Note: this is my opinion based on experience with Infotech employees. Notice problems with my computer that suggested a virus - I was getting virus warnings. Tried some common, recommended virus and malware programs (AVG, AdAware) but it didn't help. Took computer to Infotech and TRIED to tell the person what the problem was but as soon as he heard that I tried to find / fix the problem with virus and malware programs, he decided that the virus and malware programs WERE the problem. Pointed out that I've been using these programs for years and the problems had occurred only in the last month but that made no difference. Paid about $55 for diagnostic thinking that I would a diagnostic report pointing out what the problem was. Whatever the diagnostic consisted of I have no idea and no report. So for $55 I pretty much got nothing that addressed the problem and how to fix. Oh, other than the recommendation to remove the malware and anti-virus programs that I've been using for years without problems. Would NOT recommend Infotech. read more

Then they sold me an off the shelf computer and it doesn't work, they gave me windows 7 (an old operating system) and it won't installed. I took it back they won't refund me, the piece of crap keeps shutting down and it was out of the box! My Toshiba laptop hard drive failed. Toshiba quoted me $250, not to mentioned the hassle of packing my laptop and waiting for at least a couple of weeks. InfoTech installed a new, quality Western Digital hard drive, burned me a Windows 7 Home Premium (W7HP) disc and installed W7HP for $94 (!) And it only took a day. My laptop looks and performs like it is brand-new. I am very pleased with InfoTech's service, price and turnaround time. read more

These motherf**kers outright destroyed my computer. And then had the balls to charge me $800+ and wouldn't give it back until I paid them. They wiped ALL my HD's including the backup drive with over 2000 songs @ 99 cents /song, Broke a $300 motherboard, disconnected all the cooling fans and then somehow installed the OS on all 3 HD's.
