My husband makes lattes and cold brew from home more frequently now, but we visit Local Joe's when we want to restock on their freshly roasted whole coffee beans or for the occasional treat. This morning, I treated myself to a half sweet iced Audrey Hepburn and a breakfast burrito. To my surprise, service was fast! Granted, I was the only customer in line (~8:30am on a Saturday), but I didn't even have to wait five minutes for both iced coffee AND hot breakfast! I used to have to wait at least 15 minutes if I was the only customer. Great job and thank you, Local Joe West for improving wait times! (Granted, there may still be a wait during peak hours, especially on Sundays)

Unacceptable Working Conditions - Fix the Air Conditioning!…read more It's absolutely unacceptable that a busy establishment like Local Joe continues to operate without functioning air conditioning. Apparently, the ongoing excuse is that they're waiting on a single part to fix the problem. At what point does management decide enough is enough? This location receives significant customer traffic, and the employees work incredibly hard to keep things running smoothly. They deserve a comfortable, safe working environment, just as paying customers deserve a comfortable dining experience. The employees are not the problem. Management's failure to resolve this ongoing issue is. For a business that depends on its hardworking staff and loyal customers, allowing this situation to continue sends the wrong message about its priorities. This review isn't meant to criticize the employees, who deserve recognition for continuing to work under these conditions. It's meant to bring attention to an issue that management needs to take seriously. Stop making excuses, prioritize your employees and customers, and get the air conditioning fixed. Then I tried their Iced Brown Sugar Shaken Biscoffee, and as a cookie butter lover, this was an instant favorite. It wasn't overly sweet and had the perfect balance of sweetness and espresso. So good! And the SCONES!!! The blueberry lemon one is definitely my favorite. It's the perfect little treat to go with your coffee after class. Definitely one of my favorite weekend coffee spots now.
