If you know where Hot Tamales is, go behind it and hit Upscale Rio! First of all, this place has so many options of what I'd call comfort food and everything is good! They have shakes, desserts, yummy starters, mac and cheese, burgers and much more! What's my favorite thing? So many items are gluten free!! Hallelujah!! Even the burgers can be ordered with a gluten free bun! We also had a super sweet waitress! I had to go gluten free last fall and it really cut down on us eating out as most places have little to no options. Here, MOST things are gluten free!! Like what you may ask? Well, today I had chicken fried chicken, green chile gravy, mashed potatoes and fresh vegetables- a medley of corn, Lima beans ,bell peppers and red onions. They use a gluten free rice flour and the batter on the chicken was crispy and delicious!! They are also super generous with their portions so I took half of my food home and can't wait for dinner! I also had a double chocolate shake and a cold brew. They proudly brew Whispering Bean Coffee which is super tasty! My husband had the Green Chile Chicken Pot Pie and really enjoyed it and ate every bite! My mother in law had the Basic Cheddar Burger with fresh cut fries and raved about it. She also had a Key Lime Pie Shake. No photo of this, sorry! They normally have a gluten free fruit cobbler but they were out. I'll be back to try that for sure! All I know is I found a place that has super tasty gluten free options that I can't find anywhere else. I love you Upscale Rio! I'll be sharing this with all my gluten free friends! See you soon!! XOXO

Forty Nine Forty is exactly the kind of restaurant Michelin should have discovered when it came to…read moreNew Mexico--and its omission makes you wonder whether the inspectors ever actually made it to Corrales. We started with the savory brioche tart and excellent house-made breads. The little gem salad was crisp and refreshing, with jicama, cucumber, and a bright buttermilk-lime dressing. The beautifully cooked spiced duck was the standout, with plum providing just the right sweetness and acidity. A customized specialty drink was a thoughtful touch, and the cheesecake was a terrific finish. Alex provided warm, attentive service without constantly interrupting the meal--something increasingly rare and deeply appreciated. Forty Nine Forty combines serious cooking with the relaxed, distinctive character of Corrales. Michelin may have missed it, but New Mexico diners shouldn't.

Note* there are two different doors to enter, opposite each other, both opening into what they call the marketplace, but one is near the hostess stand, and the other is across the room. There should be a sign that directs you toward the hostess stand. To whet my appetite, an amuse-bouche was brought out. It was a small slice of duck placed on focaccia bread topped with mango chutney. Off to a great start, if this is a representation of what's to come. For the first course, I ordered the brioche tart and the bread course. The bread course offered three different types of bread (see menu below) served with a large pat of soft butter. The butter had a heavy hand of coarse salt on top. The varieties of bread were delicious. The Brioche tart isn't what I was expecting. I am not sure why it is called a tart. It was on what appeared to be a flatbread piled high with sliced mortadella. The potatoes were cubed so small; their size rivaled the coarse salt, and they were sparsely sprinkled throughout. A few pieces of red onion were also interspersed. I sent it back because the flatbread was hard to slice and the mortadella was overbearing in size and aroma. The second course was the fruit salad. Heavy on the black pepper. It wasn't memorable. It was plated on a dinner plate with a thin layer of savory dressing lining the plate, followed by a single combined layer of sliced fruit and chopped iceberg lettuce, topped with black pepper. There was more salt on the butter and black pepper on the fruit than dressing on the salad. Don't get me wrong, I appreciate it wasn't drowning in dressing. But a smidge more would have been nice. I also ordered the espresso martini, and that was very delicious! At this point in the meal, my mouth is so parched from all the salt that I am drinking several glasses of water already. The third course was duck, which was cooked to perfection. The peaches in the dish gave a nice flavor. The rice was delicious and contained large pieces of green onions. The green onions were definitely not as subtle as the potatoes in the tart. Again, black pepper was everywhere. I think that is the chef's favorite spice. Salt and pepper permeated the courses. It's a shame, because there is a plethora of herbs and spices chefs can use to flavor foods. At this point, it is soooo salty; I am drinking the entire carafe of water placed on the table. For dessert, I ordered the Basque cheesecake. It was the highlight of the meal. It was not too sweet, and the flavor stood out on its own. I ordered coffee with the meal, with cream and sugar. The waitress brought everything over but didn't bring a coffee spoon. I simply licked my cheesecake spoon clean and used the same spoon to stir my coffee. I only mention it because coffee spoons are one of the little details that make a restaurant stand out, especially if you are trying to be compared to a Michelin restaurant. I have eaten at many great restaurants and this one did not stand out to me. Positive notes* all of the staff members were friendly and provided good service. That is one way to my heart. Unfortunately, it wasn't enough to make me want to return. Not because the food was terrible, but for the price, I expected a better meal.

Extremely disappointing experience at Sixty Six Acres…read more We walked in and were seated immediately on the patio. I had read so many positive reviews and was genuinely excited to try this restaurant. Unfortunately, we walked out without ever being served. While we sat there, multiple staff members walked past our table without acknowledging us. No greeting. No water. No "someone will be right with you." Nothing. Then another couple arrived after us and was seated in the same small patio area. They were promptly greeted, given water, and attended to by a waiter who seemed more than happy to serve them. Meanwhile, we were still sitting there trying to figure out whether anyone planned to acknowledge our table. What made the experience even more uncomfortable was looking around and realizing there were no other Black or Brown patrons in the establishment at the time. I cannot definitively say race played a role in how we were treated, but given the stark difference in service between our table and the couple seated after us, I would be dishonest if I said the thought didn't cross my mind. We eventually got up and left. Good food reviews mean very little if certain guests can sit at a table while staff repeatedly walk past them as though they aren't there. Whether this was discrimination, poor training, or simply terrible service, the experience was unacceptable and left us feeling completely unwelcome. We came prepared to spend our money and enjoy dinner. Instead, Sixty Six Acres made it very easy for us to take our business elsewhere.

She explained that they have a dedicated fryer for their chicken wings and fries, offer gluten-free hamburger buns, and other gluten-free options. That gave me the confidence to give them a try. When we arrived, we grabbed a table on the patio and then ordered. We shared the loaded breakfast fries (without the chile since it isn't gluten-free), and they were delicious. I ordered the Greek salad with grilled chicken, which was fresh and flavorful. My gluten-free daughter had the barbecue chicken wings and fries, and my gluten-free son ordered the huevos rancheros without the chile. My husband had the regular huevos rancheros. The server who took our order seemed to be new, but another woman, possibly the owner or manager, was extremely friendly, answered all of our questions. As someone with celiac disease, that level of knowledge and willingness to answer questions means a lot. Everything we ordered was delicious. We'll definitely be back!

He asked me to breakfast and he looked up places to go here in Rio Rancho and found this restaurant online with good ratings. Ambiance The ambiance is cute, nothing fancy, comfortable, cheery (for instance live plants) and more importantly-different. I love when restaurants have their own style and don't look like other restaurants. For instance they have one seating area that is a booth seat with various different pillows. And there are two tops with both chairs and a bench. Simple, clean, charming. Service The waitress was friendly and admitted she was fairly new, which we wouldn't have known because for being new she was an above average waitress. Food I was surprised to see such original food. They had more of a global kind of food with definite nods to regional new Mexican favorites. For instance they had 'Madame Hatch', which was a classic Croque Madame sandwhich with green chile. The bread/ham/mornay sauce/basted egg were all cooked to perfection and tasted wonderful. 'Bombay Bagel' which was a French toast bagel, with goat cheese, black forest ham, sundried tomato, hardboiled egg, lemon honey, and microgreens, fruit. And NM classics like a smothered breakfast burrito. I attached pics of the menu so you can see everything they offer. Everything was appropriately priced, Not cheap, not expensive. Each dish was $11.00-$16.00 They serve breakfast and lunch. They also have a good, large selection of yummy, homemade desserts. If you're looking for good food, good service, something different but also great classics you need to check this place out.

My entree was their Mongolian Beef prepared and served in an extremely creative presentation which was absolutely delicious! Others had: mezze platters with and without the lamb, the Cavatelli pasta dish, shishito pepper appetizer, All quite delicious! Amongst the desserts ordered I had the basil, blackberry sorbet (if I recall correctly) which was refreshingly tasty! The whole evening was wonderful! The food! The company! But special kudos and thanks to the restaurant and staff at Farm and Table for helping make it a very memorable evening!

The menu had a few vegetarian options that looked promising. I ordered barramundi and my wife ordered cavatelli which is a type of pasta. It was plated with a good amount of vegetables, but I found it to be bot a flavorful as I would have liked. I tasted the cavatelli and was not impressed either by the flavors.
