I love this place. Probably go there at least 2 times a week. The owners are great and attentive. The food is not only delicious but cooked with a healthy conscious in mind. The lunch buffet is a steal at about $8 and the Sunday/Monday dinner buffet offers a much larger selection for those who like to try new dishes. All good and always yummy and consistent. Love the buffet here. Many vegetarian choices and the service is very good (I don't think I've ever had to ask for more water). The papadons are the best on the planet. I would call out other specific foods filled with spicy goodness, but I don't know what they are called. Also the mango dessert is delicious. Parking can be a pain, but we usually find free street parking around the south/west side of the block. read more

We arrived just after noon for the luncheon buffet. The restaurant was busy but he staff was very attentive. The food was among the best I've had at any Indian restaurant in our area. The tandoori chicken was moist with a deeply rich satisfying flavor. The paneer was rich and deeply flavored. I tried each choice on the buffet and it took three trips, but everything was perfectly cooked and enjoyable. Often at buffets, some items that should be very warm aren't. All heated items were very fresh and warm. The cold items were cold. Spicy dishes weren't too spicy hot which I appreciate. I really enjoyed the garlic naan, warm, fluffy and soft. The garlic was appropriately added to give wonderful flavor without being overpowering. The mango mousse was exquisite and a perfect end to a meal that was memorable. This restaurant is truly a value! Fast food would have cost more than the buffet and there is no comparison with the freshness and taste appeal of this buffet. We will be back! read more

Butter Chicken was good. The Naan wasn't like the others I've eaten at different Indian restaurants, so was a bit disappointed. I was pleasantly surprised by how large the portions were here- it was a great value. My chicken tikka masala lasted me three meals! The meat was also of good quality, no gristle or fatty pieces. When my fellow diner and I entered India Bistro at midday, we were seated immediately by one of the two attentive servers. After perusing the large detailed menu for several minutes, we ordered vegetable pakoras, tandoori chicken, and vegetable samosas. As we waited for our meal, my fellow diner and I nibbled on the hot, fresh naan bread that was provided. As the food arrived, we were surprised to see a large, hot pan of sizzling red chicken served to us. The spicy, crisp vegetable pakoras came with three delicious sauces of varying flavors, and the samosas, although an awkward shape for cutting, were scrumptious, with a creamy filling of potatoes and pea and a flaky, salty pastry crust. Even though the serving were quite enormous, we could not stop eating until we were stuffed! The busy restaurant had a quiet, peaceful atmosphere, with dim lighting and large windows. They are serious about the spice level here - you order hot and you get hot! The biryanis here are excellent. They also have a nice selection of house cocktails; try the clove martini, it is unusual and delicious! Really good for larger groups too. Wonderful service and all around nice people. read more

We went there for the lunch buffets. While, Indian food buffets are abundant, I usually don't expect more than some warm food quick. We were there near the end of the lunch and the food was still amazing! Everything tasted so fresh, nothing dried out or near the bottom of the pan. The butter chicken and the black eyed peas were both very very good. I always expect the buffets to be mediocre but do the job, this went way beyond. They bring you a basket of naan to your table and the bill for two people, before tip, came to $15.21 If this is there buffet, i can't wait to try the dinners! read more

We went to the lunch buffet again today, and we were a little disappointed. The food was not nearly as tasty, and it was much more spicy. I didn't see one of the cooks that I saw last time which may explain the difference in taste. Kinda weird the door says that they close at 10:00, but when you walk in at 9:00, they won't seat you. After working an 11 hour day, both my girlfriend and I walked in to India Bistro at 9:00 wanting to sit down and eat. The waiter that met us at the door, didn't say hello at first, just checked his watch and said that the kitchen closes at 9:45 and asked us to order something to go. I explained to him that your doors are open for another hour and it was brutally raining outside so we wanted to sit down and dry off and order something really quickly since we knew what we wanted. He wasn't having it. We walked out the door and he tried to stop us and seat us, and I explained that if the restaurant doesn't want to make money in it's last hour, that's on them. We walked across the street to Bengal Tiger and they seated us no problem. I guess this place doesn't serve anyone who doesn't work a 9-5 job. read more

5 stars because for $7 you get all you can eat lunch TO GO. As someone who cannot ever finish a dish, let alone get my money's worth for a buffet, I appreciate that they allow me to take one to go box for CHEAPER than the eat-in price! I do drive 15 miles just to pick up a to go box of their food, so unfortunately I don't get it often. I love the butter chicken. They used to have this coleslaw salad dish I loved but I haven't seen it recently. I still love their food. The buffet is small compared to some places, but for the price and flavor, it cant be beat. Other places I have been too either don't allow take out for the buffet or if they do, they charge more! Plus, there isnt bone in their dishes. I have been to a couple places that had bones in their butter chicken, which is an awful surprise. read more

I went to this restaurant while visiting Seattle this past summer and absolutely loved it. I tend to visit Indian places that have buffets more often than not, as I am not very familiar with the food. This buffet was so spectacular. Everything was pleasantly spicy, the naan sort of had a garlic taste which was a nice change from regular naan. The wait staff was so friendly. Not sure why I haven't reviewed this little gem yet.. India bistro is my favorite Indian restaurant in Seattle! Butter chicken is my staple at any Indian place. Butter chicken here is so creamy and bursting with flavor. I love that they serve their dishes over candles so they remain boiling hot throughout dinner. I also like that you can substitute rice for naan if you wish. I love the starchy Basmati rice but I equally love naan, something my hips appreciate! I've been to their lunch buffet and Sunday dinner buffet and I also like them a lot. They have a good selection of meat dishes and vegetarian dishes. Varying degrees of spiciness too. I love the mango mousse for desert. For drinks, I usually get the chai or mango lassy, which is great here too. A word on customer service: while they are not the most bubbly and cheerful people I've seen, I've never received bad customer service and they were always able to accommodate our large groups fairly fast and drama-free As a final word, I'd say quality-wise they are just as good as the famous Indian restaurant in northgate but probably a couple of bucks cheaper per plate.. Very good lunch buffet. The curries are what I consider very mild. It was a quick easy food stop but could easily be a fancier evening out.
