Lovely coffee shop! My wife and I went to the downtown location. Their butterscotch latte was really good. Super great spot for studying or you can get something and walk around riverfront park.

The baristas here were so welcoming, nice and excited to explain the menu to me as a first-timer. They took their time to figure out what kind of drink I wanted and I was very happy with the Blueberry Sunrise! This was my first time trying blueberry and lemon in a matcha, and it was very delicious-- so so unique. The coffee shop is also connected to a running store, so it is a smaller space.

A cute little shop in downtown Spokane! This place had a good crowd on Saturday morning but the place has quite a fair amount of seating and a variety and dare I say a good coworking space in the back? Despite the crowd the line moved fairly quickly. Some of the stand outs were bagel sandwich and the avocado toast. The bagel was filling! They did this interesting thing in which they chopped up the bacon. It was good but perhaps a tad too salty. The avocado toast was also a hit and that's big considering how trendy it is now. I also had a cortado which I think was pretty good imo since I didn't add anything extra in it! Overall I'd definitely come back!

Really good coffee shop in Spokane that I recommend to anyone needing suggestions!! The cold brew is nice, but the matcha is amazing, especially with honey or strawberry. The staff is very friendly, and the place is modern and big - good spot to work or meet with people. The parking downtown can be a bit difficult, but not horrible - you will have to pay.

Was walking the downtown area and in need of coffee. I remember this coffee place being great last time at the other location so I went again. Decided to try the butterscotch latte with oat milk, and lemon vanilla latte with soy milk. I liked how they don't charge for alternative milks. The flavors were very faint, they were a perfect sweetness but I didn't taste lemon or butterscotch at all. I also got a breakfast sandwich, which I think the price was excessive. It was about $12 for a bagel with a little cheese, an egg, spicy mayo, and arugula. It was good but not worth the amount for what's in it. After buying the things, the girl taking my order was super rude. Didn't say anything, even after I said thank you she just said "yup". Inside was nice and super cool to see lots of seating. All seats were taken so we decided to sit at the bar area. We stayed inside, and it comes with mugs which was cool.

I was in Spokane for a few days and stopped into indaba four times. Hands down my favorite coffee spot in downtown Spokane. And -- even better -- they've got unquestionably THE BEST avocado toast I've ever had. The best avocado toast my boyfriend ever had and the best avocado toast eaten by the lady at the table next to ours who also kept returning just to eat it. I'm addition to mashed avocados, the toast features tasty sprouts and pickled onions which combine to make a fresh, savory, spicy, delicious treat. By comparison, the veggie burrito was just okay -- but that doesn't even matter because you can always get the spicy avocado toast. Service was great. Ambience in the rear seating section was also perfect for working on a laptop - so it feels like one area is more social and the other is more studious.

I was in town for a conference and searched for a coffee shop near the Davenport hotel. This was an easy walk and such an adorable place. Customer service was five stars, even though they were having technical difficulties they took good care of their patrons. I had the seasonal pumpkin spice latte, and it was absolutely delicious! It's a perfect end into a weekend conference in Spokane.

Was in town for a conference and went here twice. Pretty nice place I can early in the morning nobody was really there. Vanilla lemon matcha latte was really good. Second visit, I got the butter scotch latte I would definitely recommend that drink. read more

Everything about this coffee company is wonderful. They support the community. They give back. They hire amazing staff and work hard to train and develop their peeps. Their coffee shop space is really welcoming and I always want to stay longer than I can. It's a place to linger, read, catch up with friends or escape for a few minutes of solitude. All that and we haven't even gotten to the coffee yet! They roast their own. It's amazing. Rotating single origins and a solid blend that I constantly buy for the office drip pot. They've created a nice list of original specialty drinks but I'm a classic gal and never stray from an Americano or cappuccino. Both of which they nail every.single.time. read more

Love this Indaba location - open, bright, beautiful exposed brick. The chef and drink masters are incredible and so passionate about their creations. It was so inspiring to hear them describe the artisan toast, coffee and refreshing libations. My faves were the strawberry caprese toast, bacon avocado (with radish and scallions) and the citrus shrub mojito (mocktail). Love supporting amazing local businesses like this! read more

I feel bad, since I was going to review this place back in March. You guys deserve the stars! Great coffee, friendly staff. The baristas seem legitimately happy to be there. I mean, one of them was still making coffee with his arm in a sling and a smile on his face! You rock man! Loved the bright lighting, the brick walls, the green plants everywhere, and the excellent drinks. The iced matcha latte I got was everything I hoped and dreamed for, lol. One complaint: not enough seating. read more

Love Indaba! Great "craft" coffee and friendly staff. This particular location is a favorite of ours, it's pretty big with a decent amount of seating and a great downtown location. They also do live music and art shows occasionally. They serve absolutely amazing toasts - like, SO GOOD. I've had a couple different varieties and they are all delicious. We're not talking standard avocado toast, but like toast with avo, capers, kimchi, bacon, Nutella, fruits, eggs, etc. - Indaba does toast right. Lastly they serve alcohol which is a fun change for a coffee shop. We've spent hours here working and will start off with coffee and finish off with a bottle of wine. read more

Indaba has become more of a community than a coffee shop for me. And I think that's because of the awesome culture that the owners cultivate throughout the city with their multiple locations, amazing staff and earnest service. People just gather in places that will treat them good! Meeting a friend or sitting down for some work. I brag about indaba all of the time as the place to go if you want to enjoy good coffee and good people. I highly recommend you stop by for a cup! read more

My first visit, and the place did not disappoint! I decided to go for the truly unique, and ordered an 8 oz lavender sage latte. With an Ethiopian Goji roast. I could truly taste all 3 tastes distinctly, and they mixed well together. My stomach can be a bit sensitive to acidity, but no worries--it was very good overall. You probably heard enough about the atmosphere; it's classy and clean. They even rent out meeting spaces. Prices were good for a downtown establishment, and the baristas were friendly, liked each other, and not pushy. The music was a little techno for my taste, but alas it's 2018--oh well. I'll be back someday, I'm sure! read more

The staff were a mix of warm and cool. The baked goods are wrapped in plastic - yuk. The coffee might be great, don't know because the barista had so much perfume on her hands that is all I could smell when taking a drink from the paper cup. Unlikely to go back. read more

Wasn't excited to pay a premium, but I have to say it was worth it. I went off my regular path and tried a peppermint mocha. Clean flavors and perfect amount, not over powering whatsoever. Great latte art and fantastic foam, neat ambience and unique architecture. read more

Meet the Business Owner: Bobby E.

In 2007, founder Bobby Enslow traveled to South Africa and worked in an HIV/AIDS Hospice facility. This experience greatly impacted him, and encouraged him to pursue his dream of opening his own coffee shop. He settled on the name Indaba because it perfectly tied his past experiences to his dreams for the future, and exemplified his belief that coffee can be a uniting force.

However, Luna does offer a lot of things for this price. You have a pleasant neighborhood restaurant vibe, with friendly attentive service and excellent, healthy food sourced from good places. As with anything in Spokane, you will see folks in very casual attire, but this is also a place where you can dress up. When we went, there were several tables of women friends (all ages), many family groups (without young kids or with well-behaved kids), and older couples. I was in the mood for salmon and they did a great version. It should be though for just under $50. It was served with black rice (good) and roasted carrots (good) and a carrot puree (really good but not enough on the plate). My dining companion got the scallops, and they were even more expensive than the salmon. $48 for TWO scallops. Ok, they are large, and well-cooked, and came with a lovely vegetable mix and couscous, but that's a lot of $ for Spokane. We are from CA and that's even a shocker for us. Dessert: they had recently added a banana pudding, which was good. It replaced a chocolate dessert--and that was a bad move because there is no intense chocolate on the menu. We also tried the coconut cake with lemon curd. There was not enough curd; it was barely a tang. The cake itself was a little dry. It is served with house-made ice cream, which balances the dryness but the cake should be good on its own. Apparently, this is their most popular dessert. I am a chocolate-first person. I like coconut. I like good vanilla. I really like lemon curd and a sweet-sour pairing. For me, this item felll short.

We told the server it tasted burnt & old so she offered to make a fresh pot. It was just as bad, when she asked we said it was still really yucky and she said that a lot of people don't care for it. I ordered the tamale waffle. The beef was great, eggs were a bit overcooked but no biggie, the waffle was really hard and dry. It needs some sort of crema sauce or something. It wasn't horrible by any stretch but it wasn't great either. My mom got the veggie breakfast burrito and she liked the veggies though it was bland, felt like it could have had more sour cream & cheese. It was massive and came with a side. The added 16% service fee is some real BS. It says on the receipt that it's split between the server & the kitchen staff. Call me old fashioned but I thought it was on the restaurant to pay their staff a living wage. At $18 a breakfast plate & $4 for drip coffee you should be able to pay your staff. And then we're supposed to tip on top of that? Nope.

There are also warm food options to order. The staff was friendly and upbeat and answered my questions about the baked goods and food. I selected the ginger crinkle and was not disappointed. It was so flavorful and rich with real ginger you could see. I came back the next day for another one. There is street parking but it can be limited when times are busy. There is space to sit and enjoy your food. And there are some neat shops to check out nearby. Highly recommend!

The quality of ingredients tasted really fresh and thoughtful, and they have a surprisingly wide variety of nutritious options. I don't have a chance to try it, but their selection of savory entree plates were very impressive (see my photos pleaseeee), and they also serve delicious soup as well. But the highlight was their baked goods, 100% gluten free at a very reasonable price for the portion and quality. This place is inside Saranac Commons, very pretty and is a good place to slow down for lunch or coffee. Staff were kind, attentive, and happy to answer questions about the menu. Definitely a place I'd come back to whenever I'm in Spokane.

She's never once properly introduced herself, and always seems very frantic running around. This last time, we weren't even charged for our drinks because she claimed she was too busy to ring them in. 2/3 of them were pretty nasty anyway and heck I'll take a free coffee, but that doesn't seem fair to the business. I also notice that the servers there do everything; host, buss, serve, run food, make coffees, etc. They seem quite busy, and based on the service I receive, I wish they had a few more hands to help out and ensure that guests receive accommodating and friendly service every-time.

I recently visited this coffee shop for the second time in just a few days, and I have to say, it's quickly become a favorite! Their House Butterscotch Latte is absolutely incredible--it's the reason I keep coming back. If you're ever in town, this place is a must-visit. While I haven't tried their food options yet (I had breakfast both times), the menu looked fantastic. The atmosphere is cozy, and the service is friendly, making it a great spot to relax and enjoy a perfect cup of coffee. Highly recommend! read more
