Went on a Sunday morning, so it was pretty busy when we came in. I was excited to try some Filipino flavors, which is hard to find in the area. I decided to try the ube latte with regular espresso and a pandan latte with white coffee. I got them both with oat milk. I was worried these would be too sweet but it actually was perfectly sweet and the flavors balanced out really well. The flavors are unique, I just wish there was more ice, which I will ask for next time. I saw they had ube crepes, but when we went they didn't have it and onto had ube croffles, so I decided to try that. We also wanted to try the chicken melt crepe. I really enjoyed the croffle, it had a delicious chocolate flavor but wish it had more ube flavor as it was very faint. The chicken melt crepe was okay, but not my favorite. I feel the lemon didn't match, and it was inconsistently seasoned. Some parts were extremely salty, while others were not salted at all. It was nice to try but I'd try something else next time. Overall I would return again, but I'd try a different crepe and hoping they have ube crepes next time I visit. read more

I've been meaning to check out some new coffee shops for a while now, and heart about Boku from a friend a while back. I was so pleasantly surprised, and while I haven't been back in quite some time, I've definitely been trying to make it back to study there. In terms of the establishment itself, the energy is honestly very bright and cheerful, it's a bit on the louder side so if you're coming in hoping to lock it in for some studying, I'd bring some headphones or something. There's a wall of tables with outlets though, so those are really helpful for people who are trying to get some productivity in. The drinks themselves were great, I was able to try both the ube latte and pandan milk. Coming from Seattle, I was honestly surprised to find anything like this in Spokane. The ube had that nutty flavor just like home, and the pandan milk reminded me of a Thai dessert that my mom makes at home. Both of them were just so tasty and comforting. One thing I absolutely wanted to highlight was the hospitality - Malinda if you're reading this I am so sorry I haven't come back in a while and I'm really trying to make it out again soon :'). Everyone was SO friendly, it was nice being able to connect with someone who shared similar cultural experiences with me, and it really made me feel so welcome and as if I was back at home. They do a wonderful job of getting to know their customers, and checking in/making sure people are doing okay. The people at Boku go absolutely above and beyond to make sure people are enjoying their drinks, snacks, and time there. I got the Coconut Pandan $4.00. My daughter got the Ube latte $5.25. For some reason, I really thought they would be really sweet however, the sweetness was on point! Was not too sweet at all, just a hint of sweetness. These guys do it so RIGHT!! my daughter ordered the rainbow Ube crêpe minus the bananas $10.95. I got the Pistachio Croffle $7.95. They were deliciously yummy!! Just a hint of sweetness. I actually finished my croffle and it was good size too. We also ordered the Chipotle Chicken melt $12.95 with extra chipotle sauce. The staff here are super friendly greeting everyone who walks in the door and thanking everyone as they leave. I grew up eating pandan sticky rice so I automatically had to get the milk pandan. It was sweet and creamy. So delicious. I love croissants and I love waffles! The combination of the two is delectable. It's a perfect size. Crunchy, airy, soft. It has bananas in the middle with an ube frosting topped with fruity pebbles. The fruity pebbles don't get soggy and adds an additional crunch. I also tried the lemon blueberry crepe which was light and delicious. Can't wait to go back and try more! They had some very interesting coffee drinks we had never heard of, so we tried a iced Ube Latte and Coconut Pandan, both very tasty. We shared a classic crepe called the Good Morning, egg, cheddar cheese, bacon, potatoes, and green onion, delicious. One of my favorite places in Spokane! Yes there are other crepe places, but this is my favorite. They also serve croffles (croissant in a waffle pan) which no one else around here serves. Boku makes it in my favorite places because 1) the food is not only beautiful, but tastes great, 2) the service is amazing (so friendly, thoughtful), 3) they have unique food and drinks and 4) it's very cute.
