Most too acidic but when Guatemalan coffee was brewed on Tuesdays, it was great Staff was there busy and didn't really acknowledge people. Was okay. Maybe I went at the wrong time. I was jostling for space in their very narrow shop where a long line had already formed in the morning. When I got to the front, they were already out of a couple of options that sounded delicious. So perhaps you have to get here super early and not at 9 am like I did. The two ladies working there seemed hurried and rushed, which then made me feel hurried and rushed. No eye contact no pleasantries - get your order, get moving. Maybe that's what people want. The coffee and food was good. I just don't think it was so amazing that I'd go back and subject myself to that experience. I can go to a better, more spacious place that has more time for me and perhaps has a lesser selection of GF and Vegan goods than this one but to me, experience matters a lot. Update: Added one more star as the owner got back to me, offered to understand the experience and make it better. That customer focus is part of the experience I was talking about and it seems the owner definitely leans that way so ... perhaps, as I said, maybe I went at the wrong time. With global supply chain issues and everyone being short staffed, my experience might just be an exception than the norm. read more

Update: the owner reached out to me in a personal message and shamed for not being able to handle his cashier's rudeness because it's her first job. He also implied that apparently I have money and able to travel; so, posting poor reviews is not being considerate of how covid impacted their business. He also said that I attacked their livelihood by not addressing the issue with them personally, which I tried by asking questions and not getting answers. I wasn't offered an apology or an opportunity to address the situation with the owner rather was attacked by the owner's aforementioned comments. P.S. Ordered a latte and papaya boat. The man working the cashier was incredibly snobby when I said I wanted whole milk with my latte, not knowing it was a vegan cafe. The latte was standard and the papaya boat was good, but overpriced for the size. The outdoor seating is nice, but the cushions were wet after the night's rain. Edit: The business owner wasn't even present during the interaction and I never said anything about the cashier "putting on an accent." Getting spoken down to in a demeaning tone for ordering whole milk is far from the definition of fun. Calling out the customer for being too serious and ridiculous (the initial response before it was edited), and twisting it to be their fault is quite the poor response rather than making changes on business end. For the level of service and price, there are way better places on the island to get coffee and food. read more

Coffee shop right outside our Airbnb; pleasant people, chill ambience, nice outdoor seating, great coffee (I promise too the latte art was beautiful, I just couldn't wait lol). They were very accommodating to do my macadamia nut soy/oat blend latte half caf since I'm pregnant, and that was sweet! It's not too sweet at all, love the texture. Came in here for a quick drink, ordered a soymilk latte but tasted like there was cinnamon in it in which the barista dismissed my remark. My friend ordered an espresso and waited 15 minutes because the barista decided to make everyone else's drink before hers. In my opinion the best tasting coffee on the Eastside. Super personable, super intimate, and knowledgeable about coffee. They roast their own coffee beans which comes through in their coffees. Enjoyed a wonderful latte on the patio before heading out to our day adventure. Located on the backside of the Coconut Market Place with shared parking at the strip mall and Aston Islander condominiums. Captain Obvious point numero uno: Considering these islands harvest some of the best beans on the planet, it's astonishingly hard to find high quality, medium-light roast coffee almost anywhere. Why, coffee gods, why? While the roasts tend to lean on the darker side, you can find what your inner coffee snob is lifting his snooty nose for, here. The menu is imaginative and playful, but still streamlined, the daily specials are always original. It's a small place with a pretty nice covered patio, perfect for those rainy days when paradise gets downright freezing, you know, low 70's. And they offer a lot of bagged varieties, roasts from elsewhere, great for your condo or whatever. We'll keep coming back. read more

This is hands down the best coffee on the island!!! We tried several different shops and none of them compare to this one. We had their vanilla lattes with soy milk or soy blend milk. Their banana bread is delicious. The employees are super nice and friendly. They also have a punch card and after you purchase 9 coffees you get the 10th one free! Imua is hidden in the back by the hotel, but honestly a great spot for coffee! My husband and I got the cold brew and drip coffee and it was so good. Felt like we had trouble finding good coffee on the island but imua was high up on our list. read more

This was my favorite coffee shop out of three that I tried. My oat milk latte with vanilla syrup was so delish!

Ordered a hot latte with coconut milk and mac nut syrup. It came out ridiculously way too sweet. Barista suggested it was a good combination, but it wasn't. Flavors were overpowered by the sweetness. Couldn't taste any espresso at all. Overpriced at $8.22. For that price I was expecting latte art at least, but the milk was literally just plopped on. There are better options both coffee and price elsewhere. read more

The holy mocha is worth dying for. I would recommend not getting the espresso shot with it, and just enjoying the mocha by itself. They have a cute sitting area, but I would recommend walking to the beach and enjoying the coffee there. read more

Staying very close by so had high hopes for a great walkable place to get a good latte. Ordered 2 mochas early yesterday morning. They were honestly the worst I have ever tasted. Tasted like there was zero espresso or chocolate flavoring in the drink. My SO agreed. We took a few sips and had to throw in the proverbial towel. Cashier and barista were also quite rude and unwelcoming. Also - Really hoping I don't get heckled by the owner for reluctantly posting this poor review as it appears other have in the past.... In my view, snark or defensiveness is never an acceptable response to a review unless the customer was behaving in an unacceptable/inappropriate manner.... And even then, I think good customer service would dictate providing a straightforward response without an obvious attitude. read more

The baristas were really rude. We felt like we were really inconveniencing them by merely buying our morning coffee and trying out the place. On our first morning in Kaapa, we came across Imua in the coconut marketplace. The service was excellent! The barista provided so many recommendations based on our preferences for coffee flavors. We opted for a coconut milk Mac nut flavored latte and it was delicious! Hubby is a coffee snob and was recommended to try a shaken iced espresso. He was pleased with his drink as well! read more

This place is SO GOOD. I really wasn't expecting much out of a coffee shop that's right next to a hotel. Lattes are well made. They operate efficiently. Two parties in at a time, and when you place your order, head out toward the back and you'll be able to hear them call out your name when your order is done. What you definitely should get though, is the macadamia nut sticky bun. I've gotten it 2/2 days here and I plan to get it at least one or two more times. read more

The queue area is pretty tight and kind of gets in the way of the entrance but they have a nice seating area outside in the back. Staff was friendly despite the rush The food variety is basically limited to pastries like various croissants, pastries and the surfers special (a yogurt powerhouse that was sadly out when we went) but their croissants are delish and more than enough for a light breakfast! I got a ham and cheese croissant and my husband got the pear and fig croissant. SO GOOD and perfectly flaky!!!! Nice amount of filling. Coffee variety is pretty good-it's not starbucks but they do have a decent variety of coffee brews, americano, lattes. read more
