As a St Louisan I am genetically predisposed to love Imos, but the Kirkwood location is exceptional: ingredients are better, pizza fresher, and the place is a true throwback to pizza parlors of the 80s (including a rotating theme pinball machine). Go here for your Imos fix! read more

I've been coming to this Imo's since I was a kid. My dad and I used to come together on Wednesdays, so take that with this review. It's nostalgic and truly hasn't changed much in the past 30 years. It's a downtown Kirkwood staple if you will. My mom and I came during the NFL draft, so the few people that were there were glued to the TV. Atmosphere was laid back and chill, as it usually is. We ordered at the counter- 16" 1/2 sausage and banana peppers and 1/2 bacon. I also got a house salad because a trip to imos isn't a trip it Imo's with a more provel. We also ordered extra ranch for the pizza. We waited about 5 minutes for the salad, and it was exactly how it always is. Simple and amazing. It's most likely an stl thing but any salad with a mound of provel on top can make any bad day a good one. Our pizza came out about 10-15 minutes later. Hot, crispy, and delicious. Ranch is always the best addition, but they also have red pepper flakes and parm- standard pizza condiments. Also have a pinball machine if you're up for a game. There's also a small patio out back to enjoy nice weather :) We also sometimes get toasted ravs and the provel bites- always a great choice! read more

Just came back from Mod Pizza after the employees gave us dirty looks and someone who is assume to be the manager announced "I'm gonna crash out" the moment we walk in. We left, took our business to this exact imos and had a great time. Played some pinball in the lobby and talked to the employees while we were taking our orders, employees that showed respect and care that they were there to do a job. Alright, this is one review I've been waiting to do. Being from the east coast, my taste for pizza is very particular and picky due to being surrounded by the best in the country (possibly the world), but I'm always curious to try the different versions that are out there. Most of them do not disappoint. Keeping an open mind I was excited to try St. Louis style pizza from imo's and as said, it did not disappoint. I was impressed by the cuts and how thin yet durable they were. The meat was really good, some meat lovers pies can be overwhelming but this one was portioned very well. The wings were also delicious ( forgot the sauce name) the combo of pizza and wings from here really did the trick. One of my favorite meals from STL. i love imos pizza use to eat it almost everday when lived in st. louis & never gained a pound because of the super thin crust & provel cheese. i would give it 5 stars: but since imos pizza refuses to open a chain of imo's pizza in georgia & other southern states: because of that one issue i can only give them 4 stars. if imo's expanded to all of georgia: imo's would become a billion dollar franchise easily: but they just will not do it. i hope they think about that if they ever have bills & money is tight: they'd have over billion dollars if imo's expanded into the south. read more

Imo's Pizza... haha where to begin! This pizza spot is a STL specialty - I'd be lying if I said this pizza was for everyone - because it's definitely not. The cracker thin crust and provel cheese seems to be especially divisive. If you're looking for signature STL style pizza, this is definitely the spot for you! If you're not, you're likely better off with a more standard fast casual pizza spot. Imo's went from a 3 to 4 star rating for me because their toasted ravs and cinnamon bread desserts are sooo good, definitely try them! I can't tell you the last time my order was right the first time and when you call in you get Imos Please hold and then no one comes back. You have to hang up and call back. This is one of the classic Imo's locations which produces pretty consistant food. The BF and I stopped by here over the weekend for a pick-up. I love how this location offers a better variety of lunch specials and a reasonable price compared to other locations. We ordered a large pepperoni, bacon and black olive pizza. The pizza was delicious. The bacon was perfectly cooked, crisp and not chewy, the sauce was proportioned just right with a nice amount of cheese spread throughout. Whoever made our pizza spread the toppings all the way to the edges, YES!!!! The crust was that classic, crisp, thin cracker topped with the provel cheese blend we love. The BF says our future purchases will be ordered from this location. I have also ordered their roastbeef on garlic cheese bread with extra pickles and pepperoncini on several occassions, my favorite sandwich from Imo's. I would definately recommend trying. read more

The worst customer service and the food subpar. I called the next day after waiting for an hour and 15 minutes to have my lukewarm pizza, TRavs and garlic bread and a lettuce with cheese salad delivered to file a complaint. The "nameless" Manager on duty told me that I had to call the day of to complain -- and then told me never to call the restaurant again when I asked him for his name. I guess the owner Mike Prosperi would love to hear how the customers are treated. Then when I called back I got the daughter and she told me basically that in a it a perfect world someone would have called to let me know the pizza was going to be late. She did not offer to comp my bill or anything. She did say that HER managers do not have to give their name. What kind of customer service does this place have ??? So. Here's the deal. IMO's pizza with house dressing is so delicious and if you have a hankering for it, little else will do. But - I'm seriously reconsidering IMO's overall because I think they are ridiculously over priced. $30 for 24 wings? Is that normal? I guess it is but places your wings come with some ranch lol here that doesn't even buy you any dipping sauces... those are .50 each. ;) Anyway - I just paid forty bucks for a small pizza and wings and I'm wondering why IMO's - though delicious and a good vibe - needs to be over priced. I polled my friends "how much do you think this order should be?" And all the answers were $27 or $28. If it's because they are paying their workers well, I'm good with it. Imo's pizza is my sentimental favorite. The sauce and cheese are awesome and the sausage is the best around. The Kirkwood location has an sweet Game of Thrones pinball machine which makes waiting for your pizza fun. That's a good thing because it's going to take a while to get a pizza. It took them 45 minutes to make two pizzas for carry out and if you want it delivered, you better order at least an hour before you want to eat. If you can stand the wait, the Kirkwood folks make a great version of a classic Imo's pizza. They are generous with cheese, sauce, and toppings. Like most Imo's the prices are steep, but that's what you pay for the square beyond compare. read more

We were told when in St. Louis you have to try Imo's. After a long day at the Magic House (look for review) we grabbed lunch here. The parking situation is very confusing and was hard to get into. It's behind the building on a steep side incline. Once inside I asked for a menu but they don't have printed ones so I took pictures of the menu sat at a table and decided what we were going to order. The space is pretty comfortable small and is more of a take out vibe than a seated restaurant. The lady who took our order was very friendly and honest in regards to portion and sizes so we didn't order more than we needed I appreciated that. We order pizza, wings, and a salad. Everything was great in regards to flavor, portions and sauces. The pizza is extremely thin, I didn't expect it to be that thin, it felt more like eating pizza toppings on a crepe. If you don't care for thin crust pizza this is not the place to eat. The wings were sauced a lot. I love super saucy wings were as my husband doesn't so that's a personal preference thing. The salad was a typical garden salad with olives and cheese, it was pretty big for a half size. We would definitely recommend and go back. read more

I think it's great pizza. Cheese is "creamy" and crust is good. Yes it's kind of "crackery" but good! Husband says it's yummy, delicious pizza and says you have to be a person who likes thin crust pizza. They do have thicker option, but it's only the medium so we didn't order it. Daughter said it's ok. Other daughter said it wasn't good and didn't like it. I would get it again if I were in the neighborhood-without my kids. Amazing presentation on the pizza (I'm also a sucker for the holiday-style box). One of the best renditions of Provel I have had while in St Louis. The texture of the crust was slightly chewy but provided a decent crisp that helped balance the cheese. The 16" cost $19.97 which is a fair price for the quality of this pizza. read more

We didnt eat anything for over 12hrs so our first meal was the "All meat pizza" and it was Amazing! but this time it was different I bought my family to try. I placed an order for delivery and it never came, I called the restaurant all prepared to throw a tantrum, but the girl that I talked to was so nice and helpful that no hysterics we're necessary. Does it even phase people anymore how a St. Louis name has gone so far down the toilet that even the family doesn't care. I ordered from the Kirkwood location, don't EVEN get me started about the Des Peres location. 1st off, I received two salads that didn't even come level with the lower compartment. According the their "manager / General manager" the salads was made correctly, I brought them in because my initial complaint was how small the salads were, the toppings were cut into small squares. Who does that? When I say toppings, I mean the salami, the roast beef and the ham. Salad comes with an egg, which was stuffed under the container of dressing, why would you hide the "half egg?" Oh wait, because it's supposed to be a whole egg. The family member pretending to be management explained to me that the salad was made correctly, except it wasn't. I added pepperoncinis to one of the salads and of course after she dug her hand through to show me the egg she was more than willing to assist. I was so happy with the Kirkwood store until today. Unfortunately, one of the "Imo's" family members just waltzed around didn't care. What's the point to my complaint? She felt "entitled" to challenge my not being happy and smug about the entire situation .What you will be is a frozen pizza in the pizza isle in a grocery store in the clearance section. Officially, after over 55 years. I am done with Imos, that was a funny topic too. I explained how I have enjoyed Imo's for over 55 years and she corrected me telling me the Kirkwood location has only been open for 30+ years.
