I was in St.Louis to attend a family celebration for my wife's aunt who recently passed. One thing we always enjoy is ooey gooey butter cake. Usually, my mother in law would buy it at the grocery store, but the store outsourced it recently, and it isn't as good. My brother in law stopped in here and got one for us. It was exactly what we like. We borrowed his car the day we were flying out and visited the store to get some to take home. They have these cute little 3oz cakes in tiny foil pans wrapped up nicely with a tiny plastic spoon. We ended up buying a bunch of those to share with folk back home. One time at the airport, the TSA agent told us that gooey butter cake and provel cheese are the most frequent items they see folks taking from St. Louis. We had a slight wait while the wonderful lady behind the counter was making a few more cakes. We ended up taking two frozen ones instead of waiting, but were there long enough to have a great visit with her. She is a friend of the owner. Sadly I didn't get her name. She made us feel at home in the store. As we were leaving, several other customers started coming in. The whole little shopping strip was busy. I had a really hard time backing out of my space in my brother in law's monsterously huge car.

This isn't even their main location; I think it's somewhere in the city. Regardless, we tried it out the other night and really liked it! I got two scoops -- the Italian Butter Cookie and the Watermelon. I don't even know which was better since they were both delicious. The candy watermelon seeds were so cool. We will surely be back, and soon.

Although we rolled up only about 20 minutes til close, we were greeted quite warmly. Service was lovely, listened to what I like in ice cream, and offered several suggestions. They were also INCREDIBLY patient with my indecisiveness - everything just sounded so good! I wound up with a scoop of the salted cracker caramel and my husband got the salted caramel cookies and cream. BOTH were absolutely fantastic. Creamy, rich, perfectly packed/thick ice cream, buttery, sweet, and salty ribbons of caramel, and perfect sized pieces of sweet and salty cracker bits. I love an ice cream that's "loaded" with goodies and these definitely were. Each bite was delicious. They offer vegan ice cream and "naughty" ice cream, which has booze mixed in. I really don't think you can go wrong here. Again, easily the best ice cream I've had in a long while, maybe ever. There are several locations around the city and the Midwest, so if you see a Clementine's, I highly recommend trying them.

The vibe when we visited was less brewery and more unsupervised playground. Kids were running around barefoot, throwing mulch and rocks, while plenty of parents sat back with drinks in hand. My wife and I, along with several other guests, were repeatedly getting hit with rocks from children running around the property. Maybe this was an unusually busy night, but it was hard to relax or have a conversation between the constant chaos, the trains, and the swarm of kids treating the place like recess. I'd post photos, but every picture is mostly other people's children, and that doesn't seem fair. If you're looking for a quiet drink or an adult atmosphere, you may want to look elsewhere. If you're looking for a place where the kids can run wild while the adults have a drink, you'll probably fit right in.

You can order from the bar for beers/the counter for food OR you can use the QR code. Both are incredibly fast. Like had our food under 10 minutes which was awesome. Bar has something for everyone - some great beers, cocktails, and wine. Peacemaker was good as always. I always upgrade to fries then regret it because their chips are bomb. The only complaint here is the amount of meat/seafood they put on their sandwiches - it's like bread with a few shrimp. For the price you're paying (almost $20 an entree), I feel like you should be getting a little more meat. But at least it's good. I got a burger this time and the patties were seasoned super well and honestly very, very good. Such a cool spot, especially on a nice day. Great spot for beers and hanging out with friends.

I'd attend such a meeting, but more so for the lulz (but also to share my beliefs). I'm pleased to report that there's none of that going on here, that I'm aware of. Granted, this was a Sunday morning. I was there with my running group as part of our ongoing unofficial breakfast burrito tour, the last such stop until this fall, due to upcoming marathon training. Of course it was the most unpleasant day of the year, maybe ever, with a heat index of 117 (no hyperbole). I changed shirts before I came in and then sweated through that shirt as well. One of the ladies I was with left a gross pool of sweat in her chair after she left. It didn't occur to me to pull a Charlamagne tha God until hours later. I'm growing as a human being. Part of that growth is gradually coming to realize that seasonal lattes, unless they have sort of especially distinct flavor, like banana, aren't going to taste like anything other generic artificial sweetener, let alone what they purport to be. I considered ordering an iced caramel latte, but I figured what the heck. I went with something called a Miso Brown Sugar Latte. It was good for what it was, but I don't know that anyone, if you gave it to them to try, could identify it as that. I liked the fact that it had a somewhat more pronounced coffee flavor, compared to some places where it mostly just tastes like a glass of milk. I wasn't as crazy about the fact that it took a while for the ice cubes to cool it down, probably longer than it would have taken if it were served in a glass cup. I went with something called the Annex Burrito, which I didn't realize until after I ordered it is not the only burrito they carry. I guess you can also get a bog-standard breakfast burrito with bacon, eggs and cheese. This one comes with corn, beans and some sort of unidentified crema for the same amount. Maybe they give you less bacon. Mine didn't have a lot of bacon, but the bacon it did have was not crisp and had a precooked vibe. The latter was more of an issue for me than the former. I'm a savage in that way. I did appreciate the fact that it was griddled, possibly using a panini press. The exterior was ever so slightly crisp, while the interior was pizza roll-level molten. The overall vibe was similar to those microwave burritos they used to carry at 7-11, but in a good way. All I needed was a mini truck enthusiast magazine filled with photos of bikini-clad Latinas and a Windex-blue Slurpee, but I was able to make do with a lukewarm mystery latte and the old ladies I run with. I'm resourceful.
