Smokee Mo's BBQ - Don't Judge the Parking Lot…read more Hungry and tired after a long stretch from Chicago, a stop at Gateway Arch, and still miles to go toward Arkansas, we landed in Arnold just needing food and a place to land. From the parking lot... I'll be honest, we had doubts. The kind where you look at each other and silently ask, "Are we sure?" But we walked in anyway, and that's where the story turns. Inside, Smokee Mo's is all easygoing, country charm. Welcoming, unpretentious, and full of that "you're gonna be just fine here" energy. The service was friendly right away, no fuss, just good people doing their thing. Then the food showed up, and any hesitation disappeared fast. We shared pulled pork and brisket, with sides of broccoli casserole, beans, and potato salad, plus cheesy garlic bread because... obviously. Everything was flavorful, satisfying, and exactly what you want when you've been on the road too long. No frills, just solid, comforting BBQ that hits the spot. Lesson learned (again): don't judge a place by its parking lot. Sometimes the best meals are hiding behind the most unassuming doors. If you're passing through and running on empty, this is the kind of stop that resets your mood and fills you up in all the right ways.

2/5 Smoky Moe's BBQ…read morewas unfortunately underwhelming. The vegan rib platter was extremely dry, while the brisket was slightly dry but had decent flavor. The corn was chewy and kept getting stuck in my teeth, and the garlic bread had virtually no garlic flavor. The potato salad was good, and both the sweet BBQ and habanero sauces were highlights. There were a few good elements, but overall, the meal fell short of expectations. Definitely room for improvement.

When you get to a little host to stand, you will place your order there the menu is on the wall next to you. You can get it to go or you can eat inside. They do not have a lot of room inside, but it definitely fit the 6 of us and more. We all got something different to eat, and everything was great. The service was great and they gave us a little extra dessert to try for free. Yes, I think they do use a sweet baby rays barbecue and yes, the rib has a little maybe brown sugar on it but it was awesome. Pork steak has some kind of rub on it, but everyone loved it. Pulled pork sandwich and the tacos were also great. We also love the sides we received with our food. Definitely would go back if in the area.

The pros: -The variety of sauces were delicious -The brisket was moist and had food flavor -The Mac and cheese had fantastic flavor -The plate was served with pickles and onions, which I haven't seen since I left the south -Great value! The cons: -the pulled pork was dry -The Mac and cheese was super saucy -not a big variety What I sampled was delicious, and I'll keep up with the Southerner to try more food (I have my eye on the chicken and waffles on a stick).

Walking through the office today I caught the smell of delicious smoked goodness and instantly wanted some for myself. I can't tell you how happy I was to find that the aroma that caused me to lose track of my engineering responsibilities was located directly outside the front door to the building. This was my 2nd time to get a mouth watering BBQ sandwich from The Southerner. The folks running the truck are always more than helpful and provide a meal that's a good value proposition. Quality, quantity and price seem to be well balanced. Albeit a tad bit on the expensive side. Look to spend about $12 for a sandwich and side. The turkey, brisket and sausage are all great. The brisket is pulled not sliced or chopped. It makes for a great tasting sandwich that doesn't need much sauce at all. Although the sauce is pretty darn good they get 5 stars for not needing it.

Very basic interior, decorated for Halloween right now, but you aren't coming here for the ambiance. You're coming for the food. And this place does it right. The young lady who took my order asked me some questions and helped steer me in the right direction. I got the loaded baked potato with pulled chicken. HUGE potato with a good amount of meat. Came with a side of bbq sauce and a tube of sour cream. Everyone was very friendly and clearly all get along. I ate inside and got to hear their conversations, which were all friendly and fun. Sounds like a good group! Seems like a lot of regulars coming in and getting their "usuals". Would suggest stopping in and trying if you are up that way!

We tried the smoked wings, pulled pork sandwich, those huge buttery baked potatoes, and the pork steaks... every single item was flavorful and cooked to perfection. The only reason I didn't give a full 5 stars is because one of my items--a burger--was missing from my order. It was a small hiccup in what was otherwise an amazing experience. I also love that this establishment gives back to the community, which makes supporting them even better. Great food, great purpose, and a great vibe--I will definitely be back!

It's about their hours yesterday I came here and they were open till seven or at least a advertised on the site. They were open till seven and I got here at 6:50 to grab some of their amazing baked beans only to be told by the staff outside that they were closed when the sign in the window said open. I guess no big deal disappointed but I'll come back tomorrow which brings me to today. So now I stand here, looking at the building when the sign says open the hours on Yelp say they're open until five only to find that their doors are locked-so it's not the food that I am disappointed in as I won't get the pleasure of feeding in two days in a row. I'm disappointed that the staff opted to close early. I understand if you run out of meat, but perhaps someone would just like your baked beans as they are so delicious that's what I was looking forward to not to say I wouldn't enjoy some of the ribs and potato salad, but the baked beans are just off the chain. So I ask anyone at Sharp shooters that's reading this review that note what your hours are and hold true to those even if you have to tell me that you're out of ribs or you're out of pulled pork or whatever that looks like allow me to come in and get a drink or some french fries but just straight up be closed before your hours are posted is very disappointing

Mr. J's BBQ is a BBQ stand on the NE corner of The Kirkwood Farmers Market…read more You can find him there on Thursday and Saturday. He serves great St. Louis backyard style BBQ prepared in a couple barrel pits. He prepares several meats every day he is there and has a number of sides. Today I tried his ribs, his brisket, his pulled chicken, and chicken thigh. All had good smoke flavor and were well cooked and seasoned. I really enjoyed the chicken thigh and the ribs. Don't get me wrong the other items were good, but I enjoyed those 2 the most. I'm not a fan of pulled chicken, I've noted that previously, but Mr. J's pulled chicken was right good. He puts a little of his se'lah gold sauce with it and some sautéed peppers and onions. That makes for good flavor. The reason for the 4 not 5 stars is minor. I had several slices of brisket on my plates and the first slice I picked up while nicely smokey and well seasoned was tough. However, every other slice was perfectly tender indicating a proper cook. I only tried his Se'lah Original Sauce. But let me tell you he has a wonderful quintessential St. Louis style BBQ sauce in that. Man is it good. I get to KFM often during the summer. I'll be back by for sure. Y'all enjoy!!
