I had the 2 piece dark snack box. Excellently fried chicken, fries were piping hot and the roll was great too. This is a lot of food for under $7. Definitely a steal for food this fresh. Service was great and the space has plenty of seating. read more

I placed an order on line but i did not notice it defaults to pick up so I called the establishment to cancel the order the first person I spoke with did not have a clue on how to cancel the order she gave the phone to someone else I then explained the situation and she said you want to cancel and order and that you want for delivery I said yes but they did not credit the 20.20 for the pickup order - I called the credit card company and they told me it was never cancelled - all I want is the 20.20 credited back to my account - I paid the 24.95 for delivery. read more

Steak tastes like the frozen precut stuff you can get at the supermarket. Bread was not good. Pretty sure the cake and frosting was 100% Duncan Hines. Prices were decent (why I am giving this 3 stars) but don't expect anything close to a good cheesesteak. read more

I truly enjoyed my experience at StL Steak and Cake. From the young lady who took my order to the great food, I was served... everything was outstanding. I ordered the five piece whole fried wings with fries. Fresh, hot and tasty. For dessert I ordered the blueberry lemon gooey butter cake ... oh my! The owners were on-site and involved. And it shows. I wholeheartedly recommend StL Steak & Cake and I've added them to my rotation of dining spots. read more

Food is great. I don't think I have ever had a better mushroom & Swiss burger. It is cooked to perfection and juicy as ever. There is no need to order extra Swiss or mushrooms because there are plenty on the burger. Thank you for being so delicious!!! read more

So this place has been around for a while, but was in a building next door, with no inside seating. The new spot is open, clean, with floor to ceiling glass walls looking out. The young woman @ the counter was very nice. I went on Wednesday, and they have a really good special that day. $8.99 You get a choice of about 5 sandwiches + fries. I went with the STL Cheesesteak, and added banana peppers and jalapeños. WOW! It was great! They did dress it with lettuce and tomato, which was sorta odd, but it was just fine. I would have had them keep it off half for reheating purposes. I only ate half of mine, as I would have needed a nap if I plowed through the whole thing. They have wings, and burgers too. I will be back next Wednesday! read more

Okay this truly feels like a hole in the wall spot, and it kinda is, but aren't hole in the walls usually the best food? This spot did not disappoint. Plenty of searing and great service. Everyone was so nice. Amazing food. And I mean amazing. Their steak and chicken sandwiches are both bomb, and STUFFED full of filling. We shared some fries too which were also fantastic. And the prices? SO FAIR. If we lived down the street we would be here on a regular basis. read more

Place is clean, cool area, customer service was cool. We got the meatlovers cheesesteak. It was heavy as it should be. Wait wasn't long, the place was empty. The only thing that was missing was the flavor, it was very minimal. If they could season it up about 35% more, that'll be great! Still give them a chance, it wasn't bad at all. read more

Okay St. Louis, I might lose some local cred for this, but this week was my first time exploring Morganford Road, and wow! I stumbled upon a gem: STL Steak and Cake. As a North County resident, trekking to South City felt like a mini road trip to Chicago, but Morganford's beautiful architecture and signs of new growth immediately impressed me. The energy around STL Steak and Cake hinted at something special even before I stepped inside. I had the pleasure of chatting with owner Marquita, learning about her inspiring five-year journey from Soulard. Her confidence, dedication, and ability to connect while prepping for the dinner rush were truly commendable. Marquita made me my very first STL Cheesesteak (with my extra additions of banana peppers and pickles!), and it easily earns a 5/5, comparable to my beloved Penn Station. But the real star? That damn gooey butter cake! I savored the lemon blueberry - seriously the best. These incredible baked goods are crafted by Tavera, Marquita's daughter, who transitioned from fast food to her mom's kitchen. They're too humble to say it, so I will: This is the BEST gooey butter cake in St. Louis, and I've tried them all. I'm staking my reputation on it! Plus, their sweet tea is next level - better than Raising Cane's and McDonald's. This review is definitely a new favorite. We ordered several things for pickup. Online ordering was easy and intuitive. Food was ready within 15mins. Service was amazing - they were really warm, friendly, and helpful. Everything we ordered was hot and delicious. We got the monster loaded fries and they were absolutely 'loaded'. Definitely recommend if you're hungry !! Otherwise we got the STL/Soulard special cheesesteak sandwich, some mozzarella sticks, and toasted ravioli- all of it was great; did not disappoint. This place is the real deal! read more

There is no seating inside so we had a picnic in Tower Grove Park. We ordered STL Famous Cheesesteak, Sriracha Steak, and blueberry gooey butter cake. The STL cheesesteak bread was so soft and the meat was tender. This is a highly recommended food. We had Sriracha Steak and it was alright, overbearing with spice and couldn't really taste the meat. Don't recommend. Then, to top it off with blueberry gooey butter cake. Rich, creamy, and oozy. read more

Love this place and love their food. always fresh and delicious. Although my overall experience with them and their service has been good, I did have a negative experience with an employee that was working when I picked up a to go order. The employee was abrasive, not helpful and was downright rude. When my order came up,, she basically threw it at me and left without saying word. Now, Im Very thankful that these kinds of mom and pop places feel compelled to open in our ever changing neighborhood and hopefully thrive to encourage others to invest As well. Customer service as I just described will not lead to this outcome. i will continue to give them my business and will chuck this up as someone having a less than stellar day. But, unfortunately, they are now on notice and under my scrutiny. Best of luck to all of these businesses! read more

Got the original stl cheese steak andvit was delicious! Perfect hoagie bun - not too much bread, soft and delicious. The mix of meat, onions, cheese and mushrooms was perfect! Excellent fries; medium thickness, skin on - yummy! The chicken and waffles was great - Belgian waffle delicious! Too full to get the gooey butter cake, but bought one to go and glad I did! So tasty! Nice, casual atmosphere. Our server, India, was a gem! Will definitely be back! read more

Super bummed you no longer deliver via square. We are a business in webster and ordered quite often. Loved your food! Always fresh and delicious and loved giving our business to a small mom/pop establishment. However, we were informed today after trying to order that we have to utilize grubhub or doordash. The prices are higher on your items and the fees/delivery are ridiculous. Sadly, we will no longer be able to enjoy your food for lunches here at work. read more

The cheesesteak is decent. I'll get it gain. Wish there was a bit more meat and cheese. Oh yeah and longer for the price.

Have been to this place. Don't know which is better. The burger, cheesesteak, fries, and desserts are tremendous. The staff comes around and is friendly, attentive to customers. Goey butter cake, blueberry muffin, chocolate chip cookie, and brookie were so good!! Clean bathrooms, great seating, and awesome byo topping bar!! They have free fries on Friday. They have a buy one sandwich next one free. This is a gem of a place. The tvs are great to watch sports. Great place to hang out and enjoy a awesome dining experience!! read more

I ordered this via grubhub delivery . it was amazing food. ordered two st. louis phillys. also ordered the gooey butter cake. was amazing food and the service was fast. i'd never heard of the place before this day and they even gave a coupon for a future order if using their site vs grubhub. Amazing food you can tell they care about what they do and the quality of the food they serve ! read more

The Cajun chicken cheesesteak was amazing! And it was so big so I could only eat half and brought the rest home. I wrapped it in tin foil and put it in the air fryer for about 10 minutes this afternoon and it was even better the second day! I also had the banana pudding with 'nilla wafers and suddenly I was six years old again sitting in my grandmas lap and eating her banana pudding. This place really delivers the flavors AND the service was friendly, fast and accommodating to all of our weird requests. Will definitely come back! read more

I kind of feel bad leaving a poor review because the service was actually really good and the place is clean. But the meal was absolutely terrible, some of the worst food I've had all year. The burger was one of those nasty frozen thin premade patties like the kind you get at red Robin, no flavor at all. The fries were also terrible, tasted like dirt, even when I dumped salt all over them, they still tasted like dirt. Pretty bad when the flavor is so awful it absorbs the flavor of the salt. The cheese sauce was equally disgusting. I mean, there is a place in this world for cheap nacho cheese, but this is like the worst cheapest of the cheap nacho cheese and it's absolutely disgusting. I would've been better off taking a torch lighter and melting a plastic toy onto the fries and having a better time. Considering this place upgraded to a better venue, I thought they would be good, but I was horribly disappointed. I will never go back. Do better guys, what the heck? Absolute waste of $18, I wish I could get it back. read more

DEELISH! Fast, friendly, and huge serving of fries. Would definitely go back! I look forward to their across the street move which will have indoor seating. read more
