I have sinned. For years, I scrolled past the glowing reviews and drove past the venue, scoffing in…read moremy high-and-mighty, non-sandwich-person ivory tower. "Pfft," I'd whisper to my empty kitchen, "It's just bread holding things. I am above the carbs." Well, pride truly comes before a fall, or in this case, a food coma. On a whim, my willpower crumbled, and we pulled up today around 7 p.m. Walking in at peak rush hour is like stepping into a human pinball machine. The place is small and cramped, which is a fancy way of saying... I made accidental eye contact with three strangers while dodging elbows. It was loud, chaotic, and completely electric. Woot woot!! You order at the counter, pray to the sandwich gods for a table, and just roll with it. We opted to do Carry out. We ordered "The Meatball Sub" And "The All Up In Your Grill" with added turkey because we apparently hate moderation), and a side of jalapeño popper soup. Let me tell you...these sandwiches were so aggressively good they should come with a warning label. The Meatball Sub (4.5 / 5 Stars): Deducting half a star only because it emotionally ruined all future meatballs I will ever eat...It was messy, glorious, and tasted like it was engineered by Italian grandmothers who take personal offense if you aren't sweating from satisfaction. The All Up In Your Grill + Turkey: A masterclass in grilled cheese evolution. Adding turkey turned a humble melt into a heavyweight contender for the best lunch in the STL area! "The Jalapeño Popper Soup" equals The liquid embodiment of a mic drop. Creamy, spicy, and frankly deserving of its own fan club. We came in as skeptical skeptics. We left as converted zealots. We are definitely coming back!! What should we conquer next on our redemption tour through this menu? That is the question...

The meat was a bit stringy and hard to chew. Maybe normal for this cut. Slightly salty for my taste but good flavor. Solid other than the meat texture. Will try a different sandwich next time

If you've ever found yourself thinking, 'You know what would really hit the spot? An entire…read moreThanksgiving turkey wrapped in a bread hug,' Capriotti's has your back. I present to you The Bobbi...their legendary signature sub packed with slow-roasted, in-house shredded turkey, homemade stuffing, cranberry sauce, and mayo. It is practically a holiday on a roll, and honestly, Thanksgiving gets entirely too much flak for only happening once a year anyway. Not feeling festive? They've got you covered with heavy hitters like the Classic Cheesesteak, the Chicken Bacon Ranch, and The Capastrami, all served on soft rolls that somehow possess the structural integrity to handle an ungodly amount of meat. Wash it down with some seasoned fries and a house-baked 'brookie' because calories apparently don't count here. Between the friendly, fast service and the fact that you can get your feast via dine-in, curbside, or delivery, Capriotti's is a dangerous, delicious discovery. Consider yourself warned.

I got hot peppers and no mushrooms on my Philly. It was well seasoned, the bread was super tasty not too soggy. Fries were crispy and delicious. still a little pricey, we got 2 small sandwiches, large fries no drinks and it was about $38, HOWEVER, I very much enjoyed my meal. Also, small is a bit misleading, it's deff about a 10inch sandwhich was was plenty for me and you can get a mini as well. I'm glad I came back, it hit my cravings for the day!

Since this place is such a staple, we figured we had to give it a try. The place was absolutely packed, which clearly shows it's a local favorite. Even with how busy they were, our pickup order was ready on time -- actually before the scheduled pickup since I arrived about five minutes early. The atmosphere definitely had that classic local sandwich shack vibe and seemed like it would make a great casual lunch spot for almost any occasion. Unfortunately, the food itself just didn't live up to the reputation for us. We ordered the hot salami sandwiches, which they're known for, but they were extremely greasy and the only flavors that really stood out were mustard and grease. We expected a lot more flavor and balance considering it's their specialty item. We also placed a large luncheon order of 10 sandwiches. Everyone was satisfied overall and the food was decent enough, but nothing really stood out or made us excited to come back. We personally prefer Adriana's for both flavor and overall quality. One of the biggest disappointments was that none of the sandwiches had cheese on them, even though we paid an extra $2 per sandwich for the garlic cheese bread upgrade. That was frustrating considering the additional charge. Honestly, I'm guessing we may have just caught them on an off day because it's obvious this spot has a loyal following. We still appreciate supporting local STL businesses and can understand why so many people love it -- it just wasn't quite the experience we were expecting.

I could muster an unoriginal joke regarding the how big of a mouth you need for a big mouth…read moresandwich. Consider yourself spared. I shall jump straight to the good stuff: the sandwiches. Listen, st louis has no shortage of sandwich shops, so to be successful you need to offer a unique enough product that is still approachable, and reliable. Big mouth has mastered the game. The menu is inundated with options inspired by tried and true classics. However, they do not stop there. Each sandwich is inventive enough to create some separation from it's origin. This keeps the experimenters happy, while also catering to the more tame of tastebuds. I went prosciutto. It was incredible. Thin pear, whipped ricotta, pesto, and that salty, thin prosciutto. Every bite gave me a little something different. Some bite had a big crunch full of juicy pear accentuated by the tang of balsamic. Others had a bit of sweetness from the sugars released in the pear juice and caught by the vibrant pesto. Some bite were buttery, with the help of the prosciutto sliced thin enough to read all of the perennial accolades adorning the back wall. The focaccia is art. A dark crust, one you do not see on focaccia. With mega flakes of sea salt. It was fresh out the toaster so as i gripped my sandwich warmth was sent from the tips of my fingers throughout my body as every bite delivered a crunch i am certain the folks dining outside could hear. A legit option in a city with limitless options when it comes to meat between bread

The sandwich was incredible in every way from the super piled on ingredients to the fluffy crisp bread. It's all tucked inside of a loft apartment building so the view of this place is sort of hidden. (In a good way.) Sort of feels like you've jumped from south city into a private beer club with great sandwiches. The outside seating is nice too. Would be a great place to bring some upper scale friends. Nothing here is cheap, so please don't come if you're expecting cheap! I highly recommend it.
