I really hate going to the eye doctor, but Dr. Truong makes the appointment pretty painless. Everyone here is super friendly and easy-going - Their receptionist, Margaret, is an absolute sweetheart! Dr. Truong's wife, Mary, is so patient and really helped us out in the glasses picking process. I completely lack any and all fashion sense, so I really appreciate when they pick and choose what frames they feel best match me and they're also completely upfront about their pricing. I usually do not write reviews for businesses but I had to for this place. I found Imagine Optometry via the VSP website. I went with them purely based on the fact that they had the most fresh, well designed, and interesting website. Note to all you other optometrists in the Bay Area, spend some money and update your websites!! They look like they were designed in the early 2000. We live in a time that responsive design is a must. As a person that works in the tech industry I will always close your website and move on within seconds of seeing how your website is designed. First impressions are a must. Anyways, Imagine Optometry's online appointment process was super easy and fast. I was able to get an appointment in minutes and received text message updates that made things very convenient. My appointment experience was amazing. The facility was super cool and hype. Beautiful displays and the best artwork on the walls. Dr. Truong was really nice and knowledgeable. He told me things about my eyes that no other optometrist has ever told me. I have been seeing different optometrist for 36 years now and I wonder why they felt like that info was not important to tell me. Coolest thing of all was that within minutes I realized where the name Imagine came from. This place was inspired by John Lennon and you can see it all over the place. As a music lover and musician I appreciated that so much. Dr. Truong was also very knowledgeable in music so our conversation was awesome. We talked music the whole time which I loved. The only downside of Imagine Optometry is that it's new and so Dr Truong does not have the assistance of others. He was kind of a one man shop but that didn't change my rating which is still 5 stars. Honestly it's such an amazing experience I'm actually going to be one of those people that breaks it down. 1. The office space is really great. It's modern and well lit with natural light so when you try on your glasses you really get a feel of how they will look in all settings. There are a TON of frames to choose from and rest assured Margaret or Mrs. Truong will ensure you get the perfect fit of glasses with warm opinions from everyone including the doctor. Make sure to check out the artwork while you're looking around. Really cool stuff. 2. Every staff member in the office including the doctor are unbelievably nice and helpful. They give honest opinions and will not try to push or over sell anything. They genuinely want what is best for you and that is something that is very hard to find. 3. Dr. Truong is hands down the best eye doctor I've had in the 20 plus years I've been wearing glasses/contacts. He is very educated in his field which made me feel even more confident that he was the right choice. He introduced me to the first pair of contact lens that did not irritate my eyes and felt like I was wearing nothing. The glasses I received today help me see much clearer than I ever have been able to. He takes his time with you and really ensures that you are getting the exact fit and prescription that is right for you. He is the the type of doctor that I would GLADLY sit an hour to see if needed (I made my appointment quickly and was seen immediately AND when I picked up my glasses he fit me in for a quick lens trial). The doctor behaved so rudely with me and my little one for not taking the decision of pupil dilation in 5 minutes for eye exam. Moreover my lo's glasses were becoming foggy due to mask while the eye exam so instead of putting some anti fog spray on the glasses he just taped my little one from nose to hair all round. It was so uncomfortable and unpleasant that she couldn't cooperate and started to cry. We were forced to take a decision to get pupils dilated that day in 5 minutes by the doctor (in November) or he said we will have to schedule it in upcoming year in January and February as there are no appointments available for the year. When we came to reception the girl was polite and offered us an appointment after 2 weeks to my surprise the doctor was so arrogant and lied that he has no appointment for the year. Whereas we were ready to pay out of pocket. I believed Doctor's are humble they understand that their profession is to care for the patients but it was opposite with this doctor. It's something that once their business booms they don't care about patients they care only for money. read more

I hadn't seen an eye doctor in over a decade when I began to notice that one eye was seeing slightly blurry compared to the other. I went on my insurance (Aetna) website and looked for in network doctor. IMAGINE came up and when I looked at the yelp reviews it looked like a great choice. Dr.Truong did not disappoint! He was super thorough and personable. He took his time addressing different concerns and performed a number of eye tests. Ultimately he recommended a very low prescription that sharpened my vision and corrected the issues I was having. Even though my issues were minor Dr. Truong took them seriously and made me feel validated in my concerns. I was pleased that they have evening and weekend hours and I was able to book an appointment a few days out from when I began my search. Their office is new and conveniently located next to the Fallon Target. They offer frames from Tom Ford to Ray Ban. The front desk receptionist was equally pleasant and helpful. She helped me try on frames and suggested shapes for my face (without making me feel silly as I tried them on). She pointed out things I wouldn't have thought of myself and had a very upbeat personality. Overall I had a great experience and would highly recommend this office. This eye exam was in my opinion a step above others I've had over the years. There was no high pressure sales pitch to buy lenses and frames like you get everywhere else. That said, I had my exam last weekend and am heading back to Imagine this weekend to pick out frames and get a pair.
