This H-D has become our "new" go to since our store in Lisle closed. I like the fact that they have lots of showroom models and the prices are actually on the bikes. That makes shopping and dreaming so much more fun. They have a large parts department, even if wait times for a new tire are a little long, 2 weeks for an appointment. There are lots of clothing options, both new arrivals and clearance. My only issue with this store is on 2 separate occasions I have had employees tell me, "I'll order this and call you when it comes in." No call was ever received. I don't know if that's a staffing shortage issue or no follow through, but it's a concern. Here's to more positive transactions in the future. read more

I was lucky when my bike broke down in the IL Harley parking lot. Two employees saw me trying to restart my bike and pushed it right into service for me. I know June is a bad time to have your bike serviced, but it was a little over two weeks and several of my phone calls before they got to it. Fortunately, they found the electrical problem quickly and called me right away. Because it was the same issue IL Harley fixed a couple of years ago, Joe (service manager) did not charge me for this fix. While I was surprised, it was a very good move on Joes part, because I've been telling my riding buddies how fair they were to me. A small price to pay for word of mouth advertising. Very smart! Avoid this place like the plague. Do not buy a bike here. The sales manager is very rude, lazy, inconsiderate of customers and their time. The rest of the sales team is just as rude. They don't even want to participate in Harley Davidson #let's ride challenge. They don't want to verify mileages and do odometer readings without being rude. When I asked for keywords for 3 months they were always rude. I was informed by the sales team that the keywords are the same at all the dealers..... Well, So are the bikes everyone so don't waste your time going here. The motor clothes department will have you running in circles to find your orders. If you try to call on the phone most of the time no one will answer on motor clothes and another sales member will get on the phone and say the motor clothes employee is just standing there talking with friends I don't know why they can't answer they're just yackin. Last time I was there Ray seemed annoyed to do an odometer reading and was very rude. Again and again I was let down and had terrible interactions with each staff member. I sometimes go to 7 dealers in a day to buy T-shirts and check in for #Letsridechallenge #HarleyDavidson So I know a terrible dealer right away. I had a great time here. I stopped in on a trip I took to the Harley Davidson Museum in Milwaukee and then to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Along the way I stopped at 22 Harley Davidson Dealerships. This particular dealership is one I recommend stopping at. They have a huge showroom, one of the largest of the 22 on the trip. They also have vintage Harley Davidsons all throughout their showroom as well. I loved all of their Evil Kenevil displays in the show room. The staff greeted me as soon as I came through the door and gave me the lay of the land and sent me to the poker chips. This was one of the more unique dealerships I stopped in and I recommend picking up a chip here. read more

This place used to have a mom and pop family atmosphere, but now it's all corporate. Bought my 3rd bike from this location, and it will be my last. Quoted me on my trade, then shaved $3K off it when I got there. Spend almost 2 hours looking for every possible flaw on the bike to knock the value down. My problem with this: as I was waiting, I have more than enough time to look at all their used bikes. (I was looking for comps for negotiation). They had bikes on their showroom floor with puddles of oil under them, scratches/dings, rusty parts, holes in the saddlebags, etc. They refused to budge on the trade value, selling price, or APR. Also could not provide service records for the bike I was purchasing. (I thought you service and inspect every bike before you sell it. . . .?) My next purchase will be from a dealer whom is still independent, even if I have to travel out of state for it. To top it off, I saw my trade listed for sale there a few weeks later for double when they gave me for it, and most of the stuff they pointed out wasn't even fixed on it! I've been going to this dealership for about 6-7 years now. I'm not one to only shop at one dealership so I do bounce around but for the past 6-7 years I've bought two bikes here, had three bikes serviced here, two bikes with motor work and Dyno, and store two of the bikes here. Everything from sales to parts and service have been outstanding. If there wasn't something I liked or a price I wasn't cool With I spoke up. Brent Mudgett in sales,, Odie Baltaragis at Parts counter and Ronnie W in service have all been very responsive and willing to work with me on what I wanted for each job. I apologize but I forgot the guy's name in finance but he was great as well since I was buying the most recent bike on a Sunday and wanted to pay up front but he hooked me up through finance and when I received the packet I just sent them the check. It made it a smooth transaction instead of having to come back during the week to completed the purchase. So thanks to my man in Finance. One other thing, I don't like bells and whistles and they respected that and let me purchase quietly without all the horns and bells going off. That's a deal breaker for me. So great job for doing what the customer, Me, wanted. I highly recommend this place and I highly recommend you speak up and get what you want your way. We recently purchased a brand new bike from Illinois countryside, Harley Davidson, and had the worst experience. This is our second bike the first one we bought at a Harley dealership near us and had great service . The salesman we dealt with was JD. He seemed nice enough until the sale was over and then he didn't care one bit to even acknowledge us after we left the office and weve been in that store another time since then and again he never even cared to talk to us . I called the general manager, Jason there and explained the situation to him, and he just made excuses saying they were busy . Funny they weren't to busy to try to get us in there but after we bought the bike now we aren't worthy of their time . When I told him, I thought that that was not good business, he insulted my husband and I and the conversation got heated. Customers are used and abused . There are to many other good smaller Harley dealerships where they care about their customers so shop around and stay away from countryside Windy City Harley . Wish I had given our business to another dealership. We had a great experience at phantom Harley for our first bike. I only wish they had had the one we wanted. read more

Actually learned from Abby when buying a helmet I should wear it around 20 min (Just like shoes) to make sure it fits. Her knowledge was valuable! This is the 1st time I had some sort of service and I am truly disappointed. I took a rim for a tire swap. I was quoted $XX and it turned out to be DOUBLE!! For a tire swap?!?! How hard is it to quote a tire swap? I questioned the fees when I was called for pickup and the individual whom called me had the audacity to state ; "well, we can put the old tire back !" REALLY ?!?!? . I didn't feel like disputing the fees. So I picked up my tire and went on my merry way. In hindsight , I should have spoken to a manager. Hope this review reaches one. read more

Everyone here is super friendly. I am always greeted as soon as I walk in the door and asked if I need assistance whether I am looking at a bike or browsing clothes.. Even if it is by an employee who isn't working in said department. I like that I never go unnoticed. The service area is very pleasant to deal with (not sure why they have negative reviews) and very knowledgeable. If you are getting something fixed, stick around &shop some of the apparel. Do NOT use this place to service your bike. Took my bike back after they changed the oil and "fixed" it. It is NOW leaking oil. They tried to sell me a new gasket, plus labor for a few hundred $$$. They tried to sell me new tires, I had new tires installed 3 years ago. Took my bike there two weeks ago. Took a week for the delivered parts that were in house to get to the service department. I was told my bike would be ready on Friday. It was not! Called again on Saturday. After the service guy said they were still working on it and couldn't figure out the codes. I said so they didn't work on it today. He said yes. They asked me to bring in my auto tuner because they couldn't figure out the codes my bike was spitting out. I thought you were the dealership who manufactures the bike. You don't have the proper equipment to diagnose the bike? So now I'm waiting going on three weeks. I almost think the part they replaced wasn't even faulty. I spend a ton of money at this dealership and am completely unhappy with their ineptitude. What started off as a great experience turned terrible. Sales staff and floor people were great. Helpful, friendly, the works. Long story short, dropped the bike on the ride home and took over 9 weeks to get the bike back! All cosmetic. It took 6 weeks for someone to finally call me back and answer my questions. When they finally called me to pick up the bike, I showed up an hour later than I said I would and the mechanic walked out with my handlebars around his neck! Worst shop service I have ever experienced. From the lack of apparent knowledge to their piss port communication, I wouldn't recommend my worst enemy to get work done there. read more

Saw all the great people I knew from the Berwyn store, Buster Sunter, Edgar Orellana, Abby Hull,Vern, RB, and others I forgot the names. Went to a pet adoption event thinking that HD was doing a great public service by promoting rescue rather than purchasing from a puppy mill. And what a great opportunity this would be to teach kids compassion. Not so great, as there was an alligator and large tortoise display there, supposedly for the KIDS. The gator was lethargic, probably from having been drugged for safety reasons, as there was nothing around his snout. And kids were actually mounted on the tortoise's shell and riding it! How much more cruel can you be? Any good they were doing with the pet adoptions was cancelled by that thoughtless and greed motivated display. Where are the laws prohibiting the display of exotic animals? Shame on you HD and the village of Countryside for allowing this to take place. read more

Based on the small amount of reviews for this Harley shop given the large number of riders in the Chicago area, I doubt Yelp will dissuade many of them from going to Illinois Harley Davidson. Any place should be given a chance, but I would highly recommend looking beyond Illinois HD for your service needs. I cannot speak much outside of my experience with Service and Parts. But the service experience was extremely disappointing and I have zero trust in their work. I've bounced around dealers in the Chicago area the past few years, since I live in the city, none of them is conveniently located, so I look for the best deals. I gave Illinois HD a shot because as part of the Wild Fire dealership group, they had a $100 rebate per tire on new dunlop installs. I needed new tires and a 10k service before taking off for a 7000 mile trip in August. My first experience was average, I could tell this was a 'get em in, get em out' kind of shop - no real customer service, just a shop that values turnover and $$$ above anything else. I decided I needed one more job, switching my mid controls to forwards. I also now had an oil leak which I suspected was due to the 10k service (the leak came from the filter) - so with a $200 rebate check in hand, and a concern about the leak, I brought the bike back here. Big mistake. I was given an estimate of 5-7 days before they could begin. Not a problem. Days came and went, and by day 10, I had not heard from them. I called them and was told the parts had just got in. OK, great - but how bout picking up the phone and telling me your estimate is going to be off? This shop does not call you at all - you have to call them. So after a few more days, I had not heard from them. Called back only to hear the same statement - 'we just got the parts'. What a joke. This runaround continued until day 13, when I finally had to get a Writer to promise me they were putting my bike on the rack... Day 15 I picked up my bike only to find 1) they dismissed the oil leak, which continued to happen afterwards, and 2) the forward controls were so loose they were practically falling off the bike. I had to get someone to take my bike back and tighten the controls. This tells me they did not test ride my bike. That's a big no-no in my book. Quality assurance and communication is all I can ask for with a service department. This shop failed at both. i later had service at a shop in Arizona (Buddy Stubbs in Phoenix, EXCELLENT service) tell me the oil leak was the result of an improperly fastened oil filter. Guess who did that work? Before I left on my trip I contacted who I thought to be the general manager of the Wild Fire group (off their website) to communicate the lack of quality and received no response. That was over a month ago. If you value your safety, i'd avoid a shop that is reckless with its service. No doubt they're overwhelmed, but that's no excuse. Sorry for the long review. Go anywhere else and have a better chance of a satisfying purchase. I've waited 6 months to do a review, to insure my anger didnt filter through my comments. I went to Illinois Harley because the dealership that ive been using changed ownership and I thought id test the waters. I had a great salesman who left the establishment shortly after i bought my bike. It was a great experience, found the exact bike i wanted. A powder coated street glide. Went through the upgrades I wanted with the parts manager, they were minor and only things i needed for touring, (which was in two weeks) they had everything in stock. Then the stupidity started. I had to "negotiate" with a kid/manager and it was reminiscent of a teenagers first experience with sex. I didnt care, i was paying cash and loved the bike and needed it in two weeks. We were set, new bike, upgrades, extended warranty package. Then we had the celebration party where everyone high fived me, i paid the maximum allowable on my credit card and said id mail the check. I live on the northside, this place is up to a couple of hours from my house. They said they wouldnt do anything to the bike until i had paid in full because they had been "burned before". Almost immediately they started chasing me like a crackhead for the check. It made me really nervous, but i had committed so i followed through. Not until they had received my check, deposited it and it cleared did i follow up. Thats when they stated, "oh no one called you, your improvements werent included in the total, you owe $1700". Now having no options i was insulted and a lil angry. This bike was supposed to be completed and ready for pick up, giving me enough time to put a few miles on it and have it serviced. I tried talking the the gm who was present for my entire deal, but he would never come to the phone. I did receive multiple apologies from my salesman but no actions. Knowing that now i would never return to this establishment, I told them to cancel my extended warranty and perform the upgrades. They refused, and said that it wasnt possible. I wanted to kill something. I told them i would be picking bike up as is. When i showed up, there wasnt a single person that i had dealt with in sight. I canceled the extended warranty and took my bike. I did my service and upgrades in loveland co. My service and upgrades were less than the cost IL Harley was charging me just for the upgrades. It took around five months and 4 calls to have my extended warranty refunded. I planned on sending harley a letter stating that if that was my name on top of that store front i would be on a ladder ripping it down. Harley has finally really produced a high quality machine and i highly recommend the new street glide. But seriously why cant burning 26k be better than a distasteful, insulting experience. We started at this dealership from the beginning back in June of this year. My Dad was in town and it was time for my husband to start looking for his perfect bike. We walked in and immediately were greeted and welcomed by more than one person and department. Rachel was extremely knowledgeable and patient with my husband as he asked questions and pondered over what bike would suit him. We left, waited a few weeks and then it happened. We were back at IL Harley talking to Rachel. The bike my husband wanted was at another dealership. Rachel, the GM Bill and finance team Yasir & Eddie went above and beyond. Needless to say we are now both proud owners of 2 new bikes. I could go on and on. We have no complaints about this dealership or any of its staff. I do not own a motorcycle, if I did I would not buy one from these losers that are so desperate for business but do not know how to run a business!! I mean look at all the one star reviews of this dump!! This HD dealership and the one in Villa Park do not have 5 brain cells between the two them. Stop sending unsolicited mail to non-motorcyle people. If they had a few brain cells, they would know their target demo!!! Awful! Awful! Awful! Service Department treated me like they were doing me a favor! Brought in my Road King for an estimate after a wreck. Took them 3 weeks to perform the estimate. Made me pay in full in advance for all parts and service. Took 5 weeks to get the parts. During that time I went in and asked to have the bike back (because it's rideable) to take it on a weekend trip. They made me wait for an hour for the porter to get the bike. 2 weeks later i called them and the parts had come in... I brought in the bike again. The next day they called me and asked me where my bike was.... When I told them they already had it, they found it and explained that it should be ready in less than a week due to low work volume in service dept. 9 days later I called them again and was told that it would be another week before they could begin the work on it. Since this dealership is owned by the group that owns several dealerships within the Chicago area, I would assume that the service department at the other dealerships runs at the same level of quality service. Love this dealership. Everyone is so friendly. They make sure you know all the details, from your perfect bike, to any service and when its needed. They explain everything to you. Being a woman rider, I feel like Im protected and my trike is in the best possible shape. The service department returns your bike clean and just like you gave it to them. When you store your bike there they take a picture of it & go over it inch by inch to make sure that you get it back in the same condition you dropped it off. You don't have to worry about anything. Also. I have a mechanic that is just great. And my riding buddy, who also has a trike and keeps me on my maintenance schedule. I know not everyone is happy, but everuone has a bad experience now n then. But so far...all good. The only bad thing about Illinois Harley-Davidson was losing a friend like Johnny B. I knew him for a couple years and he was just the greatest guy ever. He loved his work but more important he loved his family. read more
