Every time I enter this store, you can't get a minute to yourself to just browse. It starts with having to have the door unlocked to enter. There's a greeter there who asks you all sorts of questions and wants to take you on a very long tour of the entire store. Sometimes I just wanna go to the area, for example, accessories, that I know where it is. I don't need to be escorted through the entire building. I don't need to be approached every two seconds asking me if there's something specific I would like and working the Sales routine on me. Sometimes it's best to just greet your customers thank them for coming in and if they tell you that they just are browsing, then let them just browse. I've been here a bunch of times and it's always the same approach. The prices are all list / msrp for bikes and gear - no bargains here. So bottom line, lots of cool bikes to see, but it's always uncomfortable to do so.

Just got delivery of my BMWG310R, very first but not the last from Motoworks. Robert and Margaret are so nice to help out with the process from picking a suitable bike and paperwork. I would recommend this place to anybody who wants a new or used bike.

How Bob had it all customized for me when we met up for the 30min 1:1 tutorial he provided. Great hospitality.

To my massive massive regret of no other options- Took the new the R9t bmw there. AGIAN! They delivered it back to us Fd up again for the 5th time. Didn't do 1/2 the list of why it was sent it for repair. Took 6 weeks. Oil change isn't done after they screwed it up royally during the 600' service, the bent rim is still on the bike as well as the nail in the front tire. Great job Motoworks. Keep driving that dealership into the ground and smearing all the the European bike names in the mud ALL THROUGH YOUR SERVICE DEPARTMENT Run from this dealership. If you have any respect to your own money. RUN.

2023 Vespa prior to windshield install.

This dealership has the nicest cycle showroom I've ever been in and staff has been pleasant to deal with, so far. I came here because their prices on Vespas were lower than another dealership even more inconveniently located. But I didn't end up saving any money. Staff promotes Vespa parts you don't need or which don't do the job. I purchased an OEM windshield, sight unseen but described by a salesperson as "large." When I picked up the Vespa, the wind screen only came 6 inches above the bodywork, directing air straight into my neck. When I asked if I could return it, they said sure but they'd have to charge me to uninstall the shield, likely it would take an hour and cost $100. I declined. I uninstalled it in less than 10 minutes. I don't mind paying a reasonable charge for labor but their install charge was ridiculous. I bought an aftermarket TALL shield from a scooter dealer on Damen at substantial savings and installed it myself. We'll see how everything shakes out when I have Motoworks pick up the Vespa for 600 mile maintenance.

New purchase

I had been struggling to find a shop with good people that won't sell a bike out from under you. But luckily there is one in Chicago. I worked with Bob to get my bmw s1000rr purchased and my Honda cbr600rr traded in. The process was smooth and Bob even helped coordinate while he was on vacation. I'd highly recommend.

Very expensive service and rude attitude with below average service technician. Just for Oil Change get ready to pay north of 1k.

Does your shop work on Triumph Rocket III's? I have a highly customized Rocket from 2006 that I would like to have service for routine maintenance as well as see if it can be dynoed. I have a power commander installed on it.

However, black is one of the consistencies and everything I own. Maybe I'll call myself an elder Goth. Lol. Anyway, though the people were young, I was treated just as they would treat any other customer. They were very helpful in suggestions. I had lost a lot of weight and was in a size that I wasn't even sure if they carried. I'm a size 10 and when I was younger, everything was so small and I couldn't fit in anything. Of course, I realize at that time I was 328 pounds and they just didn't carry four or five extra large. I bought a pair of boots, a cute skirt, and a cute dress. Prices were pretty decent. They were what you would expect out of any normal store not even necessarily a specialty store. I think my dress was about $70, my skirt was 45, and my boots were about 100 but I did buy specialty boots that are just for a couple outfits I wear. Not so easy to walk in, but they aren't really meant to walk in that much anyway ha you catch my drift. They carry a lot of really great brand shoes and wonderful boots. They've been in the business for a long time and I will always remember their location on Belmont and Clark. Right next to the punkin' donuts. At least that's what we used to call it.

This is definitely not my style, haha, but it was fun browsing the store.  Our daughter found a…read moreleather jacket from the Alley Chicago Store online, which was a more toned-down style.  She read comments that the jacket could look boxy, so, she wanted to try it on in the store, and to find the right size for herself.  As we were in the city that day, we stopped by the store for her to try on the jacket. The store is located in a quiet street, but you won't miss it.  I have never seen so many black leather jackets in one place!  The staff were very friendly and helpful.  All the leather jackets were locked to the individual heavy-duty hangers, and the lady helped us find the jacket that was closest in style to what Daughter wanted, and unlocked a couple of them in different sizes from the hangers. The jacket that Daughter tried on only came in purple in the store, and was not in the exact style.  It didn't look boxy and Daughter found a size that fit her nicely.  So, she decided to order the one online. The online order came; the jacket was too large (even though supposed to be in the same size) and did look boxy after all. She had to return by shipping the jacket back to their warehouse with their return label, and received the full refund. So, the return was pretty painless. Daughter ended up ordering a jacket from another company. We didn't regret going to the store, though. It was a fun experience.

Individual named Mike helped me initially, but what was kind of weird was that he just stepped away completely after he bought out a helmet in the size I wanted but not the color. As I was trying it on, another employee approached me and started making small talk, like he stayed right next to me until I handed him the helmet after I tried it on, then left me alone. Straight up felt like he may have thought id take off with the helmet. I was really debating on giving them my business after that, but then a 3rd employee asks me if everything was okay and he was super nice. He went and got exactly what I wanted out the back. I decided since I was already there, I'll buy just the helmet there and get the gear online. I would say that they're pretty stacked up in terms of gear, but that little interaction with the one employee really caught me by surprise. Can't say Id come back.

What really blew me away -- they took me in with no appointment, had my bike done within an hour, and still left me with plenty of riding time for the day. These guys genuinely care about their craft and respect your time. If you're in Chi-City and need someone you can trust with your ride, look no further.
