I previously left a high review as a client who not only purchased a motorcycle from them, but used them for service. After my last experience with them, I will never bring my motorcycles back to them for any type of service. As a repeat client, it shouldn't be that hard to set up appointments, but their communication is horrible. It literally took me three weeks to get back to me. It is next to impossible to actually reach someone direct. You are always told they're on the phone or meeting with someone and then it could be a day or three days before someone get back to you. The only person who was responsive in of both in my previous experiences recently was Jordan. For this recent experience, I was adding crash bars to my motorcycle a newly acquired Triumph, resolve a service light, handle three nationwide recalls, and get an oil change. To their credit they did a nice job on equipment install. One recall with for replacing the back tire and the other recall with bleeding the clutch for a known issue. They got back to me that Triumph could not get me a replacement tire timely but would cover the cost of a new tire which they provided. They did put on a new tire with a 2024 date stamp. I was contacted about getting service and they recommended changing clutch fluid even though the bleeding the clutch was one of the covered recalls. It was at that point I said deliver my bike without adding anything else. I have other mechanics that can do oil changes. The kicker is that after they return my bike and as I was putting it in my garage I noticed that scratched one of my black side aluminum side panniers. I immediately sent before and after photos indicating the fresh scratch (with black marker that someone tried to conceal) It's 3" long and quite visible. It's not with replacing but just bothersome. Jordan was very responsive and got back to me that they didn't know where that could've happened. Noah, who picked up and dropped off the motorcycle took video recordings both times and I asked them to review. I've yet to hear back from them. It has been exhausting dealing with them. If you're looking to purchase a motorcycle, I would give sales department high rating, but avoid their department for your sanity. read more

The blonde saleslady with the buzzcut was discriminatory because she told me that I looked like a teenager, and mind you I am 32 years old! Reached out on Saturday for a little more information on a specific bike they had listed on Cycle Trader. Received a text back on Tuesday, asking if anyone had assisted me. I replied with a no, and asked a few questions about the bike, Stock# S00128U. I was asking about what appears to be damage to the bike and wanting more information, when I got a reply that they aren't a Suzuki dealer, and I need to take my Hayabusa elsewhere to be looked at. I'm looking to buy a Hayabusa and was inquiring about the 2022 Hayabusa with the above stock number. Might want to make sure your employees are up to date on your stock before they treat someone like that. Your employee is definitely not too bright that sent me text messages. Sales is great, events are a bonus, but service leaves something left to be desired. I purchased a Super Meteor 650 And I was very much satisfied with the selection they had available, and the ease of the transaction. They even delivered the bike to me after purchase, which was great. They offered me the winners circle package of service for 2 years, which I signed up for. That has not been so great. Each time I want service, it has taken about 3 weeks total. I remember the sales rep introduced me to the service department and was joking about how they were drunk all the time. I thought it was a weird joke, but maybe it wasn't a joke? So I recommend them for sales, but not for service. read more

I immediately got a reply from their email account saying that someone would be in touch with me soon. Mid-afternoon, I decided to call to follow up. They didn't pick up the phone, so I left a message asking them to call me back. They never did. My feeling is that if you're too busy on the day I requested, you call and make other arrangements. I just bought a 2013 Ducati Diavel from this place, my second purchase here, and my second disaster. The bike makes an insanely loud clunking noise from the chain every time I decelerate. I brought it back the very next day, and their "expert" response was: "That's normal, welcome to Ducati." They didn't even bother to ride the bike, didn't listen to the sound, nothing. This shop is a total fraud, wannabe mechanics pretending they know what they're doing when they clearly don't know shit. On May 23rd, I picked up my BMW R18B 2022 from Motoworks Chicago after an oil service, for which I paid $938.98. I immediately rode to Niagara Falls, assuming the motorcycle had been properly serviced. Instead, the clutch began slipping in 6th, 5th, 4th, and even 2nd gear. I contacted Motoworks immediately, but because I was so busy with work, I wasn't able to bring the motorcycle back right away. Later, I brought it to Cycle Werks in Barrington. Their technicians determined that Motoworks had used the wrong oil and had overfilled the engine with nearly double the required amount. I had unknowingly driven about 1,600 miles in this condition. Fortunately, this did not cause permanent engine damage--though it very easily could have. When I reported this to Motoworks, they dismissed my concerns, saying too much time had passed and refused any compensation for the time, money, and stress I went through because of their mistake. This experience was unacceptable. I would not recommend Motoworks Chicago for service, given the negligence and lack of accountability I experienced. Every time I enter this store, you can't get a minute to yourself to just browse. It starts with having to have the door unlocked to enter. There's a greeter there who asks you all sorts of questions and wants to take you on a very long tour of the entire store. Sometimes I just wanna go to the area, for example, accessories, that I know where it is. I don't need to be escorted through the entire building. I don't need to be approached every two seconds asking me if there's something specific I would like and working the Sales routine on me. Sometimes it's best to just greet your customers thank them for coming in and if they tell you that they just are browsing, then let them just browse. I've been here a bunch of times and it's always the same approach. The prices are all list / msrp for bikes and gear - no bargains here. So bottom line, lots of cool bikes to see, but it's always uncomfortable to do so. read more

Huge shout out & thanks to Johnny at Motoworks for welcoming us to his shop and allowing us to air-up our tires. Not only did he welcome us, he allowed us to use his air gun hand-held! I have never been to a shop that allowed a consumer to use a shop tool. Johnny was great about it, he just said to bring it back when done or offer it to another rider who might need air. To my massive massive regret of no other options- Took the new the R9t bmw there. AGIAN! They delivered it back to us Fd up again for the 5th time. Didn't do 1/2 the list of why it was sent it for repair. Took 6 weeks. Oil change isn't done after they screwed it up royally during the 600' service, the bent rim is still on the bike as well as the nail in the front tire. Great job Motoworks. Keep driving that dealership into the ground and smearing all the the European bike names in the mud ALL THROUGH YOUR SERVICE DEPARTMENT Run from this dealership. This dealership has the nicest cycle showroom I've ever been in and staff has been pleasant to deal with, so far. I came here because their prices on Vespas were lower than another dealership even more inconveniently located. But I didn't end up saving any money. Staff promotes Vespa parts you don't need or which don't do the job. I purchased an OEM windshield, sight unseen but described by a salesperson as "large." When I picked up the Vespa, the wind screen only came 6 inches above the bodywork, directing air straight into my neck. When I asked if I could return it, they said sure but they'd have to charge me to uninstall the shield, likely it would take an hour and cost $100. I declined. I uninstalled it in less than 10 minutes. I don't mind paying a reasonable charge for labor but their install charge was ridiculous. I bought an aftermarket TALL shield from a scooter dealer on Damen at substantial savings and installed it myself. We'll see how everything shakes out when I have Motoworks pick up the Vespa for 600 mile maintenance. read more

Slow, dishonest, and absurd prices. I had a flat tire that I needed changed and Motoworks picked it up. It took them a week after pick up to contact me and they called me with a laundry list of "recommended work" and absurd prices, here are a few examples: 6k mile service: $1,400 Change rotors: $1,000 (parts cost $100) Turn signal light out: $300 (this price to simply replace a $20 bulb would be insane enough, but when I declined this work and picked up my bike the turn signal was not out so they were just lying about this) After declining all the work except the overly expensive tire changes ($800 for two tires) that I basically had to agree to, it took another week and a half for my bike to be ready. So almost 3 weeks just for changing two tires. I wouldn't use them unless you're very knowledgeable because they seem like the stereotypical mechanics that try to fleece customers that aren't super knowledgeable. read more

I did the pre approval online and I got a notification from the credit bureaus that they ran my credit without my consent. After leaving two voicemails for the finance manager Kristen, she never called me back. Literally weeks went by without an email, phone call or text. It's now a new month. So I will be checking to see if that inquiry is still there. I told them to remove the hard inquiry because it wasn't supposed to be there in the first place. What do I look like paying $3k for a scooter?? I might as well use that money for a down payment on a car. At least I'll be able to carry groceries in the trunk. I spoke to Kristen weeks after the inquiry when she thought I was going to get a scooter, but she actively does not want to remove the inquiry which is why I am filing a complaint with the FCRA for deceptive business practices. I've called Experian there's nothing that they can do. MotoWorks has to remove the inquiry. Highly dissatisfied and I do NOT recommend this place. read more

We went to the VIP Triumph Bonneville Icons Tour here. We enjoyed drinks and delicious pizza from Roberts Pizza. I had no idea that this dealer was here and if you are driving by, you will not either. The entrance is on 19th street, not on Western. This is the only Triumph, Ducati and Vespa dealer in the city of Chicago. The selection of motorcycles and vespa's is huge, both new and used vehicles. They have hundreds to choose from. You can have your motorcycle or scooter serviced here, purchase parts, accessories and even apparel here too. Check out their website and schedule a test drive. Everyone we met at this dealer was friendly and very knowledgeable. It was so much fun getting up and personal with all of the vehicles. I had to resist the urge to hop onto a chopper and ride off in to the sunset. read more

I don't understand. I was in the market to buy a motorcycle. I inquired about 2 motorcycles for sale at Motorworks. I was told a sales rep would call me. No one ever called me. I guess they didn't need my 15k. No worries. I found a bike somewhere else. Still decided to give Motorworks business and buy a helmet. So I went and told the man at the front what I'd like to buy, he pointed to where the helmets were hanging. I stood around waiting for assistance. Not one person asked to help, not 1 person said hello. Nada. They don't want my 15k they don't want my 600 bucks. What kinda bs business is Motorworks? I'll never know the answer. I went in with a stack of cash to buy a scooter and by the time I left I made a strong determination that I would rather order my scooter or Vespa from a dealership out of state than going back to this business. Tag price on the Piaggio scooter $3,099, "out of door price" $4,900. Difference with MSRP 58.1%. When I inquire about this huge difference between the MSRP and sale price, the GM (Jim or James) explain to me that the "scooters and Vespas have to be shipped from Italy" (no kidding!) and "that's the way the Motorcycle business works". I asked for a quote but I was told that he "does not provide written quotes" and "that's the way he works". An overall "interesting" character and experience. read more

Not happy with a recent visit to see a used bike for sale. I spoke to sales over the phone to get more information sent to me which never happened. No call, no text, nothing about the history of the motorcycle or it's origins. I came in person the following morning to see it and was basically blown off by the sales associate while he was busy tinkering with other salespeople and moving bikes around on the showroom floor. I felt like this place didn't deserve my money or my business at this point. Not to mention the sales mgr had a somewhat of a heated discussion with the sales associate about a bike purchase in my presence. NOT GOOD BUSINESS PRACTICES. read more

Hands down best shop. I've bought and sold a lot of bikes and usually have at least a few in the stable. The service department has always been easy to deal with, clearly explained what's needed, timeframes and if an issue came up. Steve and the crew are great!! Buying there and I've been a repeat customer is also incredible. To have a shop this close (and IN the city!!!) is such a bonus. I was assigned a sales person who stayed with me the entire time. I bought an R1250R 2020 from them that had a nail in the tire before delivery. While my bike was in the shop for a tire change, they dinged the engine and it now has a big scratch on it. when we noticed it while picking up the bike, the guy just left as if he didn't hear us. The bike is BRAND NEW and now with a big ding on the engine!!!!!! also, my boyfriend took his F 850 GS for a 6000 service and they didn't even lube his chain! The oil filter was also not tightened and therefore leaking. IT"S UNACCEPTABLE. I would never do business with them anymore. read more

Well, I was ready to buy a BMW there, but I did not. Here is why. They are keeping listing even when the bike is sold to keep you hook in. 40th anniversary bike is still listed week and a half after they told me that is sold! at 19995. they have another one for few thousands more... They do not provide VALID vin number, so you do not know what kind of options that bike has. They are putting picture of the better equipped bike on the website with attractive price. When I call, they told me that their guy put wrong picture of the motorcycle, but I can still have the bike for $2K more than advertised. I will shop elsewhere. read more

Enjoyed buying my new Ducati Multistrada from these guys. First of all they had it in stock and inventory in this dealership is though the roof vs all other guys I visited before. Sales and finance guys were great and very accommodating. After couple of test drives, I was able to make an educated decision on new ride. General manager assured that everything went smooth and that may accessories got installed before I left dealership. Decided to get back into the motorcycle world after looking at scramblers and then falling in love with the Triumph Bonneville Bobber Black. No dealership here in Indianapolis anymore so searched the net to see if there were any used ones out there in my price range. Came across a 2018 at Motorworks Chicago listed as new at an unbelievable price. Thought no way... called and while it took a a few hours to get a response when I did I requested an out the door price quote and they said no problem. 10 minutes later I had an unbelievable price quote in my e-mail. Took off work the next day and drove the three hours to their shop. Kept waiting for the scam to kick in but it never did... I paid the price they quoted me. I spoke to 6 different employees while closing the deal and looking around the shop. All of them were as nice as could be and I really enjoyed my time there. A service employee spent about 20 mins talking to me about my bike, familiarizing me with the controls and service needs and answering my questions. They loaded my bike into my pickup and secured it for me. Chicago traffic wasn't even that bad, either! I'm even leaving the "Motoworks" license plate surround on to let Indianapolis know where to buy their next Triumph! read more
