I visited this place a couple days ago and there were no employees at the front counter. I saw a few of them huddled together behind the bar so I just walked up to the counter to look at the menu and decide what to order... after a few minutes of standing there, still no employees showed up to take my order or anything. Yessir!!! This is exactly what you're looking for if you want a burger that will hit the spot! Small spot, inside seating, and full bar. What a great idea! I got the spicy chicken and I could've easily eaten two! Not because they're small (they are a good size but not huge) but because they are so flavorful and juicy. Juicy Grilled chicken, fried jalapeños, soft bun, perfect cheese:sauce ratio. This sandwich had it all!! The margaritas were on happy hour and let me tell you they are legit. After a morning marching Downtown Denver with the amazing and wonderful women of this country, my stomach was ready for some food. This place is located in that plaza Shakespeare Square. There are plenty of outdoor seating with limited indoor seating. The service is friendly and clean. I ordered the Slinger and Truffle Fries. First off, the presentation is fabulous. It comes with a fork for the fries. The top of the burger is separate which allows you to see what is inside your burger. The fried onions with the patty and bacon were delicious. The bbq sauce that goes with the Slinger was just right. There wasn't too much sauce where the burger was soggy or not enough to make the burger taste dry. It was the perfect amount. The fries were so yummy. I'm not sure what the sauce is that is drizzled over the fries but it was so good. Not too much where the fries are soggy and soft but like the burger, just enough. We are both vegetarians for over 20 years. They did not apologize or offer a full refund- they offered $14 back for the "inconvenience" Please do not support a place like this. ***update: no refund of any kind was issued. We get in and you order from the counter (Another Tip before you get actual service kind of place). I went with the Undercover cheeseburger and added avocado, and an order of sweet potato fries to share with my mom (She ordered a burger, but lord knows I can't remember what). We did go grab a drink at the bar, and decided to eat out on their patio since it was such an awesome day. When our food arrived it was ON like Donkey Kong. I am usually a fairly slow eater but NOT that day, I devoured my burger and it was absolutely amazing. Melt in your mouth goodness, cooked to perfection and trust me this wasn't the booze talking I am a seasoned professional mind you. They refunded me later, but I'm still missing out on those fries :( As for the rest of the meal, it would probably benefit Illegal Burger to start putting their delivery orders in to-go containers instead of letting bike carriers carry them around on their backs in paper bags. My burger was squished to hell and extremely messy, no fault of the bike carrier's, of course. He handles several meals in one ride in one solitary backpack, one can only expect food to get squished. They let us pay for all the food upfront and throughout the game if we wanted more alcohol, they served us at the table and brought a tablet to us to pay so we didn't have to go back up to the front to pay.
