They also have toscana, rose and several kinds of champagne. Along with your wine they have a simple yet delicious menu consisting of antipasti, salads, bruschette, panini, pasta, pizza, lasagne and of course dessert. The staff is friendly and provides top notch, state of the art service. You truly get a taste of Italy while dining in the newly opened restaurant located upstairs in the hotel. It's hard to know where to start. The menu is limited without much variety. The service was uninformative. We asked if they had any specials, just "No." I ordered the lasagna, my daughter got the margherita pizza, my son had the pasta with chicken and my husband ordered a salad. When my husband asked the server if they had just a basic salad, the server pointed to one on the menu and said "here, salad." The food: all came out hot and quickly. The hot dishes were all VERY salty. The pizza crust tasted like frozen/warmed white bread. The food was not inedible but it was absolutely not $27-$35 quality. The bill: they brought us a hand scribbled order and ran my card. They said everything was included, which made me take a second look, because that means to me that they included the tip. I wanted to double check so that I was sure to tip, so I tried to make out the scribbling - turns out that they charged $28 for that small handful of arugula and cherry tomatoes. I asked about it and the woman said that she wasn't sure what we ordered, so she just ran it. She voided and re-ran my card, but after feeling a bit alarmed about it all, it occurred to me that nowhere does it say that gratuity is added. I understand when it's larger parties, or if you make it abundantly clear that it's your policy, but at the end of the experience I just felt that they were sneaking where they thought they could. Went to Il Tappo for a little outing with a friend and absolutely loved it! We both go our own pizzas which were so filling for a great price and ended up taking a few slices home. The Amaretto sours are to die for as well as the homemade tiramisu. The owner and rest of the staff were amazing as well and made us feel right at home. Will for sure be coming back to this place. Hands down the best Italian food I have ever had and I absolutely love Italian food. I called and made a reservation about two hours ahead of time without any issues. We went here based on wanting Italian food and am actually upset we didn't discover this place prior to our last night in Hawaii. As soon as we arrived, the staff was very welcoming. The female hostess/waitress actually covered my wife's purse with a napkin because it was raining. This was entirely unexpected but very appreciated. I had the Alla Sorrentina Pizza and it was beyond amazing. My wife had Amatriciana Pasta and she absolutely loved it. We visited one prior Italian restaurant while in Hawaii and does not remotely compare to this place. I would recommend Il Tappo to everyone and anyone that want an overly impressive Italian dish. read more

crazy lady treated us horribly the entire night because we were younger. when it was time to pay we left a $40 dollar tip, then she said it wasnt enough so we left more. Very very good Italian restaurant we found here. Excellent food and service. It wasn't busy at all on a Thursday night. In fact we were the only 2 people there so it was nice. Food was excellent. Our server gave us suggestions and they were delicious. Cleaned up our plates fast. I don't know much about pasta but I had the Chicken Pesto and my girlfriend had a bacon pasta. Both dishes went well with our glass of white wine. For dessert we had the Tiramisu. Also delicious. The owner came buy to say hello. He's from Italy so that made the food more comforting. It's blatantly obvious this place is hurting for business. The owner/hostess/waitress was pressuring us to order wine and commented "come on we need to earn income". Extremely disappointed when she couldn't answer questions about their menu. The prices are much higher than what's online. We stopped by here last night and the staff (Iva and Sienna) couldn't have been more gracious and friendly. They suggested some delicious Italian wine to go along with our antipasto (charcuterie) plate. The meats and cheeses were all top quality as were the toasted ciabatta roles, stuffed olives and artichoke hearts. We just stopped by for a quick appetizer, but wished we could have stayed for a full dinner, as the smells from the kitchen were mouth watering. Definitely a great find in Waikiki. read more
