    First time coming in here and I was impressed! You can really tell that this restaurant puts in a lot of effort in their menu and they make to perfection. I had a reservation for two and we were seated a few minutes after checking. The restaurant is located in a historical and well maintained lodge called The Alki Homstead. The entrance area had a bar and you could see the kitchen from there as well. I ordered two appetizers, the kale salad and the Focaccia bread. The kale salad was so tender and easy to eat with a very balanced dressing on top. The Focaccia bread I think was whole grain and it was very soft and flavorful. For our main courses I got the fazzoletto pasta and the 10 oz ribeye steak. The fazoletto flavors were so well balanced and the mushrooms they put in it all added to the taste. The Ribeye was ordered as medium rare and it was cooked to perfection. Super lean and juicy. We got the spiced pair gelato and a fruit cake as desert and again all so well made. Nothing was too sweet and we were satisfied with the meal. Anyone that is in the area please give this place a chance as you wont be disappointed. I definitely plan on coming back to try out the rest of the menu!

    Why did it take so long for me to try this place?! We started off with the focaccia bread w/ sunchokes. It was perfectly crispy, but soft and came with this garlic balsamic dip. It was so good we ordered two orders. The kale salad was probably one of my most favorite things. I could have probably eaten the whole order myself. Perfectly dressed and topped with a bunch of seeds and crispy things. It was perfect. All three of the pastas ordered were delicious in their own way, but my favorite was the Fazzoletto (single handkerchief, mushroom ragu, olive oil poached egg yolk soft herbs, parmigiano). Texture of the pasta was so good. Ended the night with tiramisu and it was the perfect ending to a very delicious meal. Will definitely need to return!

    This place is constantly rated and recommended as one of the best Italian restaurants, if not all around restaurant, in the Seattle area. We made a reservation for a weekday night which was actually a little difficult to get. The outside looks like a house and we almost thought we were in the wrong spot! The inside is super cozy and cute, and does feel like you're just dining in someone's large house. Onto the food - I will say there were hits and misses, and overall the quality is good but I just cannot say it is justified by the price. We got the focaccia and proscuitto platter for appetizers, both of which were actually really good. The focaccia might've been my favorite item of the night - it was so crisp on the outside and fluffy on the inside, and the dip it came with was perfect. I also love proscuitto and the marinated kiwis were unique. For the mains, we got the lemon pasta, rigatoni, and daily special cavatelli. We also got the braised oxtail, everything to share. I think all of these were good but not that outstanding - the best were the cavatelli and oxtail while I really wasn't a fan of the lemon pasta. Portions are also quite tiny for the price. Overall, if you're looking for the nice environment, this place can do the job but if you're more after good food at good prices this may not be the spot for you.

    A cozy dining treat. We were recommended to try Il Nido by some friends and we're so happy they introduced it to us. The whole experience was so cozy. Warmly lit, views into the kitchen with various spices hanging made it feel like we were just invited into nona's house. Even with a full house, it wasn't too loud and the music wasn't overbearing. Their menu is quite extensive. From appetizers, to drinks, to the main courses, if you love Italian food, there's something for everybody. Their pasta was absolutely amazing. Perfectly Al Dente, flavor was fantastic, the dishes had creativity. I ordered the Fazzoletto and my wife ordered the special of the night, which was a Cavatelli with anchovy oil, lemon, breadcrumbs, and stracciatella of burrata. Both dishes were great. The Fazzoletto was perfect. The mushrooms were soft, but not mushy, the egg yolk added a delightful creaminess, and the parm added a great umami sensation. The Cavatelli was also great. The anchovy oil was just present enough to be enjoyed, but not overpowering. The breadcrumbs added a nice crunch. Our only recommendation for the Cavatelli was it was slightly under salted to our liking. We think some crunchy pancetta or guanciale would have made the dish absolutely perfect, but that's just nitpicking. For dessert, we tried their Tiramisu, because I'm weak for a good tiramisu. I'm not exactly sure what they sprinkle on top to make it crunchy, but that added texture made it one of the best tiramisu dishes I've ever had. I think it was a mixture of coffee and chocolate crisp, but I could be wrong. Regardless, the crunch made it stand out that much more.

    Great date night spot. Consistently serving good food with their seasonal menus. Must haves: Kale salad- super tender, full of flavor, but not too much sauce. Focaccia bread- with artichokes, and comes with a garlic infused olive oil. It has a thin layer of crunchy crust while the inside is super soft and flavorful. Ribeyes- not overly seasoned, just quality meat cooked to perfection. A must for any meat lover. Hubby's favorite. Overall, delicious food, great service, in a historic building.

    We celebrated my husband's birthday here. Their pasta dishes are my favorite. We tried the Agnolotti special that night (stuffed with short rib) and it was amazing. Our favorite was the Fazzoletto with the mushroom ragu. The braised oxtail was also beautiful and unique and we really enjoyed it. Their wine list is really excellent and has a fairly good variety of price points. We enjoyed the Teroldego by Vignetti Delle Dolomiti from Northern Italy. Lovely, friendly and warm staff without any hint of pretentiousness. The ambience is one of my favorite aspects -- charming, lovely low lighting, romantic, with a touch of rustic flair from the log cabin architecture that's just not like any restaurant I've been in. This time of year, there were festive garlands and white Christmas lights that made it extra magical. This will stay on our list of special spots for date nights and celebrations!

    A quaint Italian restaurant by Alki beach with beautiful indoors and a patio (heated in the winter time). Street parking mostly. Food was pretty traditional Italian food with antipasta, pasta, seafood and steak. We got 2 pastas to try and it was cooked to perfect texture and flavor. Portion size was generous as well for $30-40 each pasta dish. Apps were about $10-20 and desserts around $15. Perfect spot for celebrations, date nights or just a nice dinner after a walk by the beach!

    Was so go good last Saturday we went again. Cocktails were perfect, they offer corkage so our group of four took a bottle of champaign and a nice French Bordeaux. The Better than Burratta was as named and paired nicely with the facaccia. Entrees of Tagliatelle a Nido and Fazzoletto were exceptional and the pistachio angel food cake a delightful finish to a wonderful meal.

    TLDR: Amazing upscale Italian dining experience right next to Alki beach. Great service, ambiance, and food that won't break the bank. Be prepared to get a reservation weeks or months in advance! Drinks: We had both an aperol spritz and the strega verde house cocktail which is a vodka + pear liqueur drink. The spritz was as expected, but the verde really stood out to me balancing the tart flavor of the pear with the vodka. Would get the verde again! Apps + Entrees: For appetizers, we had the house made focaccia and salad. I believe the salads rotate based on season. This time their salad revolved around beets and apples, mixing in great seasonal flavors. For mains we had the tagliatelle ragu and nightly special pasta which was a corkscrew shaped pasta with osso buco. The tagliatelle pasta had great balance between the rich ragu and the herbs, with the pasta being a great ribbony texture. The osso buco pasta was rich, meaty, and highlighted black/green peppercorns. While the entree portions initially looked small, we were both full after eating. Dessert: We shared the Olive Oil Panna Cotta which had fruit jam and a chocolate shortbread cookie. The jam did a great job cutting into the richness of the panna cotta and the cookie provided saltiness and textural variety Ambiance: The decorations are upscale but also cozy with nice candle lighting. The overall space isn't huge but well utilized. Service: Our server was knowledgeable and attentive, asking us about dietary restrictions, refilling waters, answering questions, and checking in on us. We also arrived to our reservation quite early and were able to get seated 30 mins before scheduled which was very kind. Prices: The prices were fair for the food and experience we had. Drinks were $17 each, apps $10-$15, pastas $30-40, and dessert $15. After tax and tip we spent $190 for 2 people which was well worth it in my opinion Misc: It's hard to get a reservation here! I would look to reserve at least 2+ weeks in advance. Also for those with Amex plat, this place is on Resy for your quarterly credit!

    Il Nido is a wonderful restaurant to celebrate a special occasion. We came for our anniversary and were greeted with a complimentary glass of bubbles. The service is top notch, friendly, and efficient. They wiped the table down between course and even fold your napkin while you're off to the restaurant room. Reservations can be made via Resy. There is free parking in the Homestead lot along the side of the restaurant. Fazzoletto is amazing. The pasta is has the perfect amount of bite and the cheese and egg really add great flavor to the dish. There were a variety of mushrooms provide. We orders their special of the day: seafood pasta (didn't catch the exact name). The seafood was cooked perfectly! So tender and delicious. The sauce could have used a bit more flavor or salt however.

    Went here for a 3 year work anniversary and the vibes were great! A really cozy restaurant that is intimate and feels homey. It used to be the residence of the owners of Seattle soap company converted restaurant. The food was great, the starters of burrata and focaccia complemented each other well. The black cod was buttery and delectable. I personally have a sweeter tooth and the dishes had fruits in them which was a big fan of.     An incredible dinner at Il Nido -- everything was so flavorful and beautifully balanced. Every dish was impressive, but the polenta and house bread (schiacciata) completely stole the show -- both were warm, comforting, and perfectly textured. The polenta was so buttery and creamy it almost melted in your mouth, and the schiacciata had that ideal crisp edge with a soft, fluffy center. We tried several pastas -- tagliatelle, fazzo lobster mushroom pasta, and gnocchi malfettati -- and each one was exceptional in its own way. The flavors were deep and nuanced, and the textures were spot on. Everyone at the table had their own favorite, which says a lot about how consistently good everything was. Other standouts were the black cod with celery and pear, shishitos, and torta di ricotta e plum for dessert -- light, refreshing, and the perfect way to end the meal. Service was warm and attentive, and the atmosphere felt cozy yet refined. Easily one of my favorite meals in Seattle -- I'd come back just for the polenta and bread.

It's minimally furnished with just the right amount of ambient lighting. Secondly, it's Italian, but Piedmontese Italian if that means anything to you. We started with crespelle ($29) which is an Italian crepe. The version we ordered was stuffed with prosciutto and parmigiana fonduta with arugula salad. The crepe was light and airy and paired perfectly with the salty prosciutto and parm. Perfect starter. Honestly, all the pastas we ordered were absolute fire. Of the three, I liked the Tajarin Al ragù ($20/$34) the most. It's a fine hand-cut egg yolk pasta with pork and beef ragù. The pasta is so finely cut; it's delicate. What I liked best was the way the ragù sauce enveloped itself into the folds of the pasta. Each bite was cohesive and really intentional. The risotto was also quite good as well - that night, it was the risotto ai gamberi ($21/$35) which highlight spot prawns. The spot prawns were sweet and the Calabrian chili was a really nice complement to the sweet and creamy. Delish. I'm sure the risotto is great in any season. I must say - the best thing about the menu is the fact that you can order a smaller portion of any of the pasta dishes as to not have to fully commit to one. This is a superb way to eat. Live actually. Include Spinasse on any itinerary if you can.

    We were lured over to Due' Cucina after having a fantastic experience with their fresh porchetta…read moresandwiches at the Camp Yelp event earlier this month. Fatty and tender meat, dripping with juices, on top of the perfect focaccia with an ideal crunchy fried crust and airy interior, not to mention the excellent marinated eggplant, tender and filled with tangy vinegar essence. I couldn't wait to give their actual restaurants a try, and that's where we found ourselves over the rainy weekend. This particular location is open and clean with extremely friendly staff. Ordering is really easy on the 3 kiosks in the front, although the pasta chef/cashier is also happy to take orders, offer suggestions, and help with any questions. The menu displays the level of al dente to expect with each type of pasta but can be adjusted in the order notes. They also have a very convenient monitor up near the kitchen that displays order status, whether in the preparation phase or complete. I especially love how this restaurant has bar seating in front of the fresh pasta making station. We were able to watch as the chef mixed up a batch of fresh spaghetti, measuring out the semolina flour and water (at least, that's all I saw her add to the combo mixer-extruder), preparing the die, and then extruding the pasta. And yes, as with any high quality pasta, they use bronze dies for extrusion here! The pasta is dried on racks for a bit to really give that al dente bite when cooked. Suppli Al Telefono ($3.70) - An order comes with a single piece nestled in a mini fry basket. This is somewhat similar to the more commonly seen (in the US at least) arancini. It's a smaller log-shaped fried croquette, with tender rice cooked in a fragrant tomato based sauce, stuffed with tons of gooey, stretchy cheese, and then deep fried to golden perfection. The breading is fantastically crunchy, contrasting against the much softer interior. It's a great pairing of texture and flavor. (5/5) Short Ribs Ragu w/ Fusilloni ($14.90) - The chef recommended the fusilloni with the ragu. The fusilloni, essentially a larger fusilli that has longer "fins", has plenty of spirals and crevices to catch onto the sauce. The extrusion is a little inconsistent, with some pieces being longer than others and others being more spirally, a sign of manual hand cutting rather than being machine sliced. Per the menu, the fusilloni is cooked until a "2" al dente level. This is actually more al dente than most Italian restaurants, meaning the pasta has a very firm bite, yet remains slightly chewy. It's definitely cooked through and pleasant to eat, although trending towards the too al dente side. The pasta is only lightly sauced, but what sauce there is clings perfectly onto the micro rough surface of the pasta. Each bite is consistent in taste with all the rich umami and tangy notes from the red wine tomato sauce. The parmigiano reggiano adds an additional burst of savory saltiness and the short rib, rendered perfectly tender, is given in enough quantity to satisfy. Due Cucina really does serve some great pasta. (5/5) Rustic Porchetta Sandwich ($11.90) - With how great the porchetta sandwich was at Camp Yelp, this is a disappointment. The porchetta, while still flavorful with somewhat anise-like and garlicky aromas, is completely dried out and tough. It's like the pork had been pre-sliced in the morning at a central kitchen, shipped to the restaurant, then placed in a dry heat tray for service. After the meal I confirmed my suspicions with the chef - the porchetta is prepared off site and and driven over every morning. The focaccia, so airy and crisp at Camp Yelp, is also subpar in store. It's floppy, completely saturated with oil, yet feels dried out on the interior. At least the eggplant hasn't degraded in quality too much. While still having a bite (e.g. not super tender), it's grilled and marinated until tangy and savory in a vinaigrette. Interestingly they serve the sandwich on top of a bed of lettuce tossed in a balsamic vinaigrette. The oils in the sandwich drip down while eating to add even more flavor. (3/5) I know that their porchetta is high quality when fresh, but I think the way they have it set up now makes a sandwich that's still tasty, but definitely could be much better. If they choose to open a specialty sandwich shop that roasts the porchetta in house, I'd definitely be a regular. With Due' Cucina, though, I'd stick with the excellent pasta. At the end of the day, pricing is very reasonable. For less than $40 after tax/tip, we both left satisfied. What a rarity for Seattle nowadays. And as a bonus, apparently they refresh the menu often. According to the chef, starting on Monday, Due Cucina will be introducing new pasta shapes, sauces, and different sandwiches. I'll be back for more pasta in the near future! It's worth trying to get here early in the night, because it can be difficult to get a seat. And you want to have some time to sit down and enjoy this pizza. Make sure you wear your best sitting pants though, because you're in for a meal that will make you progressively adjust the belt loops as time goes on. I'm sure that there are plenty of top notch pizzas across the menu here, but the Caesar salad may have been a best-in-class item. The dressing was perfectly balanced with just enough anchovy taste, and there was exactly enough of it on every bite. Instead of having croutons in the salad, they had a heaping portion of toasted breadcrumbs that made each bite so much more interesting. Caesar himself would be proud. All of the pizzas sounded great, but I was pretty sure that they would be able to execute on a cacio e pepe flawlessly here, and I wasn't disappointed. The initial bite was everything that I could have hoped for. But I would make sure that you demolish this pizza promptly - it's not one that's great as leftovers. I think that is the case for most pizza of this style anyways. I am ridiculously excited about coming back to Lupo in the future to try more pizzas. We're usually the people who leave the crust behind but we ate every last bit and wanted more.

Unfortunately, it turned into one of the worst dining experiences I've had in a long time. I ordered the seafood linguine special, while my husband had the veal marsala. The seafood in my pasta immediately tasted off -- especially the clams and mussels, which seemed old and likely frozen for far too long. Even my toddler, who normally LOVES seafood pasta at Italian restaurants, refused to take a second bite after trying it. I enjoyed seafood pasta from many other places but could barely finish my food that day. Later that night, I developed severe abdominal pain. At 8 months pregnant, any cramping is terrifying, and I genuinely thought I might be going into labor. After hours of pain coming and going, bloating, gas, vomiting, and diarrhea the next day, it became pretty obvious the food was the cause. Ruined Mother's Day and caused unnecessary stress during pregnancy. I will never order seafood from here again.

First, the location is unique, and I really appreciate that this business is trying to keep Georgetown alive with cool quirky places to eat. This def fits the bill. But, I couldn't help but notice the political statement taped to the front window, super classy. I dine out to escape my day. I don't need it thrown in my face at dinner. Next, when the menus were brought to us, it was for their 3 course restaurant week special. $50 per person, and there are two choices per course. My family all chose what we wanted and then waited for the meal. Like previous reviewers, the wine is brought out in oversized shot glasses not really, but might as well be). I get that in Italy, dinner wine (peasant fare) is served in cups, not stemware, but $18 for mediocre wine, I'd like to see a more appropriate pour. Lamb Polpettine was essentially lamb meatballs on a cold and very loose polenta with what was described as salsa diavola, but it was essentially a chunky red sauce. There was nothing about this that wowed us. In fact, it was pretty bland overall and underwhelming. But the manner in which you are greeted and served at the restaurant and the remainder of service, you would think it was going to change how you felt about food. I don't even want to go into the salad. Again, underwhelming. The mains came out and although tasty, the portions were very small compared to the price we paid. And if you opt for the truffle, it's finely grated and it covers the entire plate. Also, it's an extra $12......for less than $2 worth of black truffle. It absolutely ruined the dish. An educated server would be able to caution against it, if, of course it wasn't intended to raise the final price, essentially raising the tip. If you order risotto there, be fair warned, it is extremely loosed and not very well made imo. Bland, lacks imagination, and the rice grains were cracked and soggy on the ends and crunchy in the middle.. Last was the dessert. Again, it was tasty, but it comes in these tiny jars that equal about 2-3 spoonfuls of either panna cotta, or tiramisu. At the end of our meal, the bill was over $250. For that price, I could have eaten somewhere where I could have left a little more satisfied and felt like I was actually in an upscale restaurant, not a political statement masquerading as fine dining. Having worked food for a long time, I felt obligated to leave the customary 20% gratuity knowing full well the workers there made their "living wage" before the gratuity kicks in. It included an additional 2% to pay for employee health insurance. Isn't that an employer cost? Why put that on the check? Anyway, out the door for $300 and vowing never to come back. Buyer beware.

She goes to check, disappears, and then comes back with something that honestly felt DISTESPECTFUL. The steak looked like scraps. Uneven, mismatched chunks, all different sizes, with burnt, crispy edges and covered in sauce like they were trying to hide it. It didn't look like a single cut of meat it looked like pieces from multiple steaks thrown together. The plating was sloppy, and the side looked like an afterthought. I didn't take a bite. I looked through it and said, "This looks like pieces from different steaks." She told me she watched them cut it... then immediately followed that by saying she saw them put it under a heat lamp to reheat. So which is it? I work in the food industry. I'm not going to be gaslit over a plate like that. She offered to refire it, but at that point it was almost 11 and they were closing. I paid for my drink and left. Honestly, I wouldn't have been upset if they had just told me the kitchen was closing when I called. But don't invite me in, forget my order, and then serve something like this and try to pass it off like it's normal. Just be honest.

The week of my friend's birthday they were only doing Seattle Restaurant Week, which I hadn't realized at first but the menu was amazing regardless. The staff was very attentive to us, constantly checking in on us and making any adjustments as needed. They thoughtfully walked us through our choices and when the food arrived. First we started with appetizers which I thought it was nice that you get to try all them and didn't have to choose one. The salad and asparagus is what you would expect, but they were perfectly done and not overly complex. The stand out was the Seared Tombo, the flavors of this dish were balanced and the fish was clearly very fresh! For our main we both got the halibut option, which came with a side of sunchokes. We had never had sunchokes before but were immediately in love (the fish was cooked to perfection too) but I loved the introduction of not so common ingredient. I thought it was a fun play on traditional "potatoes" almost. I'm glad we were able to try both of the desserts. My favorite was the tiramisu (I always love tiramisu). The carrot cake was more on the dryer side (almost like a cornbread), which isn't my preference but I enjoyed the flavors. Overall, really enjoyed this place and would definitely come back!

The food was good, but by no means would I argue this is worth going out of your way for.
