After I posted photos and videos from our meal, so many friends asked where we went - and I completely understand all the influencers come here! It was the perfect amount and an absolute dream to experience so many incredible pastas in one meal. We want to give an honest review! We are foodies. We plan vacations around the food. We have been secret shoppers to help identify pain points for businesses and help them correct unknown problems so we want to share our anticipated trip to your restaurant. 7/11/2026 - 6:15p reservation. We made a reservation and drove over from the eastern side of Washington. The host was wonderful, very quick to greet and seat us. It took a few minutes for our server to greet us, by the time he came, we knew what we wanted to drink, have as an appetizer and for dinner. We offered to have him just grab drinks and apps or if he wanted we could order the flight at the same time. He ordered it all and walked away. 15 minutes goes by and no drinks. Appetizers come out and still no drinks. We turn around and he's watching tv. We reached out and asked if we could get our drinks, he apologized and grabbed them quickly. Beets and garlic bread were delicious our glasses were empty and server no where in sight to refill. Dinner comes out, pasta flight was delicious, meatballs needed more seasoning even if it was just salt - no one really wanted to reach for the last one. Drink cups were still empty and we couldn't grab anyone or our server to refill for a bit. Finally a gentleman from the bar walked by and we asked "are you able to refill or do we need to wait for Sam" he said "you're killing me" then sighed and grabbed the glasses. We all stared at him and apologized and said we could wait for our server and he tried to brush it off and say no no it's ok he can do it. We felt like we were a nuisance and put a sour taste in our mouth for the remainder of dinner. We finished with the lemon sorbet, it was ok but not our favorite dessert. Bill was just shy of $300 for 4 sodas, garlic bread, beets(unique flavor), flight of pasta with grilled chicken and meatballs, and 2 sorbets. Around $50 of that was the auto gratuity to the server. I have been a server, the service we received was not worth the $50 auto gratuity. We understand the desire to pay the server a higher wage but the reason we come out vs picking up is to be served & the experience. We unfortunately didn't feel great about the experience. Suggestions: Larger drink glasses, more servers, or a drink server who walks table to table helping refill drinks/push drink sales if your server isn't able to. I generally don't go for Italian food because of how heavy and dairy-heavy a lot of the foods can get, but it was a Saturday night and the bestie and I wanted to conclude a very busy night after doing a lot of cardio in Tukwila. Inside is bustling even though the dim lighting makes this place feel like fine dining. Menu consists of pastas, pizzas, bread and some desserts, and there were a lot to choose from. We both settled on the petite Messina flight, which is a choice of three full portion sized pastas of our choosing, in which we chose pesto, carbonara and bolognese. It came with a sparkler just like their world famous Messina flight which lets you choose five instead of three, so I was still excited to get some literal sparks with my meal. Among the three pastas: - The pesto was oddly my most favorite; it was spicy which added a hot kick to it. - Bolognese was salty but the beef and pork mixture I was picking up from it was delicious. - Carbonara was relatively plain, using bucatini (think regular spaghetti noodles) with guanciale (cured pork). This whole flight was advertised as being perfect for a party of two, though we had to take portions of each home for ourselves. We also shared some garlic bread, which came in eight pieces and came with garlic sauce in the middle. It made our meal even more filling though their garlic profile is irresistible. While staying in Seattle for a business trip, I was craving pasta and decided to DoorDash Messina. I settled on the spicy vodka pasta and the garlic bread, but the meal ultimately fell flat for me. The pasta was very sweet and unseasoned, and it was not spicy at all. The cheese on the dish also had a strange texture, and the pasta itself was dry and not very saucy. The pasta was good and there definitely was meat in the bolognese and carbonara so not sure what the Yelper Reviewer was talking about. I liked the pesto as they had added broccolini and red pickled peppers which added a nice crunch. Bolognese was solid. We also ordered the crispy potatoes based on a Yelpers review. It was good but not life-changing as reported. The caesar salad had 2 anchovies on top and apparently had anchovies in the dressing. I couldn't taste it in the dressing but that's not necessarily a bad thing. I would pass on the Sicilian meatballs. They were dry and I did not like the cheese at all. They were spicy but not blow your head off spicy. They were my least favorite dish. We also ordered the mushroom pizza. We had the Messina Caesar, garlic bread, charred broccolini, and spicy vodka pasta. This was a take out order rather than dine-in so perhaps that was why my meal was different than many of the reviews I see here. -I ordered a wedge salad, and received what appears to be half the ingredients (and chopped up rather than a wedge) but zero cheese, a vinaigrette instead of blue cheese dressing, and no roasted peppers. I thought at first that maybe they accidentally gave me a different salad, but the ingredients don't match any of the menu items - it genuinely looks like someone only packed up half the salad and then threw in the wrong dressing before sending it out. -the crispy potatoes had a nice sauce and crunch to them but the inside of each potato bit was incredibly dry (like the order had been sitting for a long while before being reheated and sent out). I couldn't finish more than a couple of bites - which is saying a lot because I generally believe there is no such thing as a bad potato. -the charred broccolini was pretty tasty and had a nice balance between the heat of the peppers and the texture of the toasted quinoa. -the carbonara pasta has an underwhelming flavor, though the pasta itself was delicious. Maybe I'll have a better experience with a different sauce if I decide to try this place again some time.
