My friends and I stopped into The Masonry on a Saturday around 6pm while we were searching for a good spot to watch the Seahawks game and get a bite to eat. This spot was perfect! They had a TV playing the game, but also a great vibe of playing records throughout the place. We were lucky to find a seat for my group of six! I wish I had taken more pictures because the ambiance was amazing and so cozy! We all shared three pizzas: Margherita, Al Diavolo, and Ginnys! All were so tasty, I had a hard time picking a favorite. For drinks, I had a midnight espresso, which was delicious and had a hazelnut flavor. Then I ended with a glass of white wine, I forgot which type, but I loved it. The staff were excellent and let us know about the sister bar next door, Fast Fashion Brewery. After eating, we stopped by and enjoyed their place! I'd recommend The Masonry to smaller groups, as next door at Fast Fashion Brewery, it was better suited to larger groups, but it was a 10/10 experience either way! We seemed to have come at the perfect time because a group was just leaving but we opted for bar seating. Other than that, the space is on the smaller side. It would have been nice to have been checked on a little more as I wanted to order more drinks but took it as a sign and we left after my one. I absolutely love this place. Their pizza crust is divine. It's light, thin, and they also and airy. They also put a nice layer of sauce on the crust, but it's not a heavy portion to where it makes the crust flop down. We saw someone eating their meatballs and they looked phenomenal so we decided to order some ourselves. And I definitely did not regret ordering them. My boyfriend and I shared it and we wanted more afterwards. I also tried the bar nuts, but they were just ok. The customer service was excellent and fairly quick. I had a hankering for a dessert and wanted something sweet so we decided to get the tiramisu which was amazing. Let me start by saying I love wood fired pizza. So I was really excited to try this spot. I visited on a Saturday night, and the place was packed because there was a hockey game on the night of my visit. My visit was early enough for n the evening that I was able to get a table but shortly afterwards, the entire place was filled. The Cesar salad was fantastic, really garlicky so if that isn't your thing you probably won't like it, but I loved it. The pizza I ordered was called the madre something or other. The crust was nice, and the topping were good especially the pickled peppers. The crust was a little burnt which I didn't like, and the sauce is sour/tart to me the sauce could have used more sugar and more herbs all I taste in the sauce is sour and tart like the tomatoes used are not ripe. read more

I saw this restaurant on social media and we were excited to try it. We went at around 7 pm on a Friday night and it was a little busy but we got seats at the longer community table in the middle. The interior is pretty wooden and a tight but comfortable space. Their menu was pretty straightforward with small plates, salads and pizza. Wood Fired Broccolini - It was cool seeing them cook the broccolini and it came out with a nice smoky char. It was soft on the inside but crisp on the outside. I loved the crunchy breadcrumbs that topped it and the sauce it was paired with. The sauce was cold but full of rich flavor from the tomatoes, garlic and shallots. Al Diavolo - The hot peppers were a little too much for me but I still enjoyed how all the ingredients meshed together from the different meats, the chewy mozzarella cheese and the hot honey. The crust was thin and decently charred but could have been a little more sturdy to hold up all the toppings. Definitely lived up to expectations and we loved how unique their pizza topping combinations were on the menu. A great place for a casual night out or dinner with friends. read more

A fun and lively spot near the stadium with a sporty vibe! The service was quick and excellent, and they were super accommodating in making a meat pizza vegetarian for us. They had a few specials, and we tried the red sauce and pesto pizzas--both were light to digest. The crust was fantastic. That's it, I've found it... the best pizza in Seattle is at the Masonry. My wife and I literally let out an mmmm after our first bites! It was so good. The ingredients were so fresh and I'm not a veggie pizza lover but this place changed my mind. We ended up getting two pizzas because they aren't very big and we wanted to share. I got the mystic pizza and my wife got one of their specials at the time. Both were fantastic and well baked. They're woodfired pizzas so they're quick and thin. We also got a side of meatballs and were so happy we did because those really set the tone for the rest of the meal! Next time we'll stop by fast fashion and order in because it could be a little difficult to find a seat during dinner time. Oh I forgot to mention, the masonry has a great beer selection and often does tap take overs so keep a look out on what's events they have coming up or what their tap list is because it's awesome! read more

I do agree that the food is decent but not amazing enough to warrant a 5 star. We came here because I didn't want to eat NY style pizza because I prefer Italian style. The place is not super big and half of it is mostly the bar and the pizza oven so don't come in a huge group (larger than 4) without making reservations. We had to split our group of 7 to 2 different groups. I do like the vibe of the place as it's welcoming. The service is prompt and friendly. Pizza is decent but the dough can be better as it's not fluffy enough but not bad in anyway. They are made fresh with wood fired oven so it won't taste bad. The price is in line with most Napolitano pizza in the US which means it's mostly between $20-30 for a personal sized pizza. There are draft beer and other alcoholic drinks available but I only tried the cider. I generally recommend margherita pizza for all Napolitano pizza. The pizza oven in the center of this small restaurant is a welcome presence on a cold, rainy day in Seattle, and their staff are working in front of it, tossing pizza dough in the air and pouring draft beers. The pizza itself was good but it could have been improved with a little *more* of everything - dough, sauce, and cheese. I was in the area for some office work and wanted to stop by the Masonry to try their famous pizzas! I happened to be here at around 5 PM on a Friday afternoon and the restaurants / area was pretty empty and we got a table right away. I started with a beer (although a cocktail would have helped but they don't have any on the menu). We tried their O.G. Carl pizza and it was definitely worth a 5 star! We kept going in for more and before we knew the pizza was gone! We really wanted to try more pizzas but decided to try meatballs and their focaccia bread instead, they were good, but I liked the pizza more! Dang what a cool hole-in-the wall vibey feeling place one street removed from the insanity that is Mercer in Seattle. I don't drink wine, but evidently they sell that shit for the girlfriends of patrons who don't like beer? Great beer tap list--lots of local and semi-local (Tacoma) stuff on tap, at least when I was there. Tap list actually had some thought put into it, and wasn't just 80% IPAs like a lot of the shit holes around here. Really good bottle list too. Food was also really really decent. The foccacia was a little over toasted and on the dry side, but the olive oil and vinegar they gave us was really high quality. It's a little strange that the olive oil and vinegar were in the same rammekan, I wasn't sure what to do so we just YOLO dipped it in and ran with it. This means that we got mainly olive oil the first few dips, and then mainly vinegar the last few. But it is what it is. Next up the salad was really good, and I try to avoid rabbit food at all costs. This salad was very palatable. Fresh ingredients, well made. Pizza was a solid 4-star pie. Nothing INSANE, but it was the right amount of chewy, and the sauce and cheese and pepperoni were all decent. $21 seemed a little pricey for what it was though, just saying. Beer wasn't exactly cheap either, but welcome to Seattle I guess. All in all this was a great place with some really solid food. If I lived in the area (oh wait, I do know) I might (will) definitely be a regular here. read more

We used to go to the Masonry all the time pre-pandemic. I stopped drinking and both of us became vegan, so it slid out of our rotation post-pandemic. Recently we visited for the first time in a long time. They make a great vegan pie. Full stop. No cheese -- it's just sauce with fresh basil and garlic. The thin crust is perfect -- slightly burnt, and tasty. The sauce is abundant and perhaps the best pizza sauce I've had in Seattle. Just absolutely wonderful food. I knock off a star primarily because -- JHC, there is no reason to blare hardcore rap at volume 15/10 on a Wednesday at 5 PM. The vibe of the space is so nice as it is -- slightly loud due to people talking, great smells coming from the oven, etc. -- and blaring music to the point where you can't hear the person you're with is (!!!). It did make us leave sooner than we otherwise would have, so perhaps it's a way to clear tables? In addition to the pizza, we got the blistered shishito peppers and the mixed nuts. Both were good as well. But you don't come here for the apps -- you come here for the pizza, and it was amazing, as noted. Next time we'll probably add mushrooms or something as well. For non-alcoholic options, they have La Croix and a hop water. I'm not going to complain that a beer bar doesn't have NA beer, but they really should. They have such a wide variety of beer that it surely would be easy to stock an Athletic Brewing IPA. I got their hop water, but would have loved an NA beer to go along with our pie. read more
