Casual Italian and brunch restaurant in the Kimpton Hotel. Service was good at brunch, and the food was served quickly. I tried the brunch pizza, and it was interesting. It had a lot of bacon on it! I didn't particularly care for the nearly raw egg yolk in the middle. My husband had the steak and eggs, and he said it was good, although the steak needed more seasoning. We had a fantastic dinner tonight, it started off with an Aperol Margarita at the bar while we waited for a table. For an appetizer we shared a IL Modo Chopped Salad and a Free Form Focaccia, and the Boursin butter for the Focaccia was AMAZING. For our main dishes we shared Linguine with chicken and the Malfadine also with chicken. We absolutely loved the Linguine, and while the Malfadine was good we both preferred the linguine, it was really delicious. I didn't have a dessert but my girlfriend had the Crème Brûlée, and she loved every bite. The restaurant itself is cozy, clean, and well run. The manager, bartender, server, and person bussing tables were all very kind and made sure we were well taken care of at all times during our visit. got the linguine. recipe sounded like carbonara. leaves an egg on top uncooked(?), hard to know. got chicken on top. sliced, looked grilled... one bite and the center is ice cold, straight out of the fridge. complained and was gaslit by management and waitress. Telling me is was cooked today, probably true but not a la minute. Proceeds to tell me that they are sorry I feel (Not feel) that way. waitress tells me that she will take it off the bill because I didn't like it the food. We got the breakfast voucher from staying at the Kimpton hotel which is $16. They credit that amount towards your bill when you go get breakfast so it's really not a deal. It's an actual sit-down breakfast not a buffet. Overall the food was surprisingly good for a hotel. We will definitely be back. Report card: Service - A: it can be a little slow, so give yourself some extra time. Our food came out hot which was worth the wait. Waitresses were really nice. Food: B+ - Breakfast sandwich B+ - Omelette A+ - Malted waffles (syrup is coffee flavor!!) A+ - Breakfast linguine (so flavorful!) A++ - brunch pizza (with eggs scrambled on top) delicious and had a yummy buttery breakfast-y taste! Only thing missing was turkey sausage. Went for Sunday brunch around noon. Was seated quickly. Really nice atmosphere to sit, relax, and chat. Great, friendly service. The lemon waffles were amazing, light and fluffy, not too lemony. Also got a side of bacon that was tasty. Ordered the mimosa tower and the blackberry was my favorite but the peach was also very nice. Went here for a birthday dinner with and had a wonderful time. Everything from the ambiance, service, and food was incredible. Our server was knowledgeable about all of the dishes and specials and very attentive to us, additionally the manager brought our pasta dishes out and greeted us and was so kind. The food was 10/10, each dish we ordered was delicious. Favorite dishes: - burrata - Garganelli pasta (we added shrimp with the suggestion from our server and that was the right call, so good!!) - tiramisu... just get it. She billed it as family style - but I don't think the portion sizes (especially the pasta portions) were large enough to be considered family style. Between the two risotto with scallops, but I wished there was more scallops. They give you three. The price is slightly higher than most, for the price I would rather go to Osteria Muro. Valet parking was very busy, I had to circle around twice in order to be able to use the service. Which is not their fault but just a heads up if you are looking for the restaurant and for parking. The restaurant was nice inside, very clean, very busy. I ordered the linguine but I was not a fan at all. There was no flavor... I only tasted the egg yolk. If 10 stars was possible I'd also list it. Hands down the best date night we've had. The ambiance was just what one would want for an intimate night with someone special, it could also double as a great place to invite friends for a girls night out. The food was to die for, and is something unlike anything else in Fort Worth. They have a seasonal menu, but the rigatoni remains year round. The meatballs are a must, you won't regret it! So three of us went to il Modo a few nights ago. We wanted to try a lot of stuff so we over ordered. We started with the Cicchetti, beets and burrata. The cicchetti is a charcuterie board with a nice portion of each item that is shareable. They also brought some delicious focaccia with olive oil and balsamic. The beets were good and fresh. Also, the martinis were good, not great, but are about 20 dollars each and are a small pour. Burrata was very good! I wasn't a huge fan of the dark cherries they put with it. Very sweet and overbearing for such a mild, soft cheese. Go easy on the cherries until you try a little. Before I go on any further I'd like to add that our server was super sweet and it appeared the staff works as a good team. The gnocchi was very flavorful and had good texture. The bucatini was tasty and well balanced. The risotto was very bland. I asked for some salt and pepper to try to revive it but it didn't seem to help at all. I'd pass on the risotto next time. We each ordered a dessert. I got the tiramisu. They make it fresh every day and it tastes like it. No flavor of brandy (alcohol) but fresh nonetheless. We also tried the chocolate gelato and it was rich and creamy. The pistachio panna cotta was sweet and creamy with a little pistachio crunch. Really good. I like the ambiance of this place too. Cool tile floors laid in an almost optical illusion pattern. There were not many people eating there that night. A couple people at the bar and about 4 tables of people. I'm sure weekends are much busier. You're probably wondering why I gave 3 stars... I was really disappointed with the risotto. It was such a bland letdown and it couldn't be fixed. Wish the cocktails were a little better value for half a pour. I guess that's just the way things are going these days? The food wasn't overly expensive so go give it try and decide for yourself. Delicious food! We found this lovely restaurant on Yelp looking for dinner before the symphony at Bass Hall. We were seated right away without a reservation. Service was quick and food was delicious. We split an appetizer and a pasta entree and each had plenty enough food. And made the symphony with time to spare. So much better than the 'factory' place around the corner. read more

We went for my husbands birthday and the food and ambiance was amazing. It was candlelit! Real authentic Italian taste and fresh pasta. We started with the yummy espresso martini (I ordered two). Our starter included the wedding soup and meatballs and it didn't disappoint full of flavor. Our name dishes were the ravioli and the gnocchi and it was fresh and had a diverse range of taste. Last weekend's dinner at iL Modo! This is a high-end restaurant in downtown Fort Worth. My party of 8 and I came in with 7pm reservation on a Saturday night. We had a great experience, however, felt the service was a bit slow at first. We waited 15-20 minutes to our first round drinks to arrive and an additional 20 minutes for the bread basket. Before ordering entrees, it was difficult to get a hold of our waiter. We ultimately waited about an hour for our meals, but were able to enjoy drinks and appetizers in the meantime. For dinner, I had a simple fillet of salmon with brussel sprouts and tuscan potatoes. Everything was delicious and perfectly cooked. Well done to the chef! To drink, I had the classic amaretto sours. Each tasted very good, but relatively small for the price point. My group and I enjoyed our dinner and evening at iL Modo, but the overall service could have been better on this night. I hate to 3-star a brand new restaurant, but that was my family's experience last Saturday. Il Modo has real potential (comfortable ambiance, friendly service, solid cocktails), but the main event (ie pastas) left us feeling disappointed and not inclined to return. Biggest takeaway? Seasoning! Let me begin by saying my foodie family loves to check out a menu online before we decide where to eat. The menu, coupled with high reviews, led us to dine at Il Modo. Imagine our surprise when multiple menu items advertised online were neither available nor listed on the limited menu with which we were provided on Saturday evening. And even more strange, there were items listed on the limited menu that were not available that evening. We understand supplier issues outside of a restaurant's control, but Il Modo's messaging was a mess. It is within a restaurant's control to update their online menu and print a menu that actually reflects items available. We had a party of 7, and our server encouraged a sharing plate concept to try a little of everything. I'm always down to share appetizers, but sharing main courses among 7 (and especially pasta) wouldn't be my recommendation because of the faster cooling/congealing effect. Sorry, but pasta ain't tapas! We ordered meatballs, little gem (Caesar salad), burrata, and calamari to start. All were tasty - and I'd say appetizers are definitely Il Modo's forte. Meatball sauce had a great depth of flavor and calamari was fresh and not rubbery. We ordered all the pasta dishes (bucatini, risotto, spaghetti, and linguine) as well as the salmon and chicken entrees. Since they didn't have clams, the linguine came with rock shrimp. Let me start with those shrimp: lack of seasoning, overcooked, completely disappointing and unacceptable. Pastas would have been better without. As far as pasta flavor, we agreed the red sauce on the bucatini was the only redeeming factor. Nearly every dish was dreadfully underseasoned, to lacking any salt at all. In no dish was this more apparent than the risotto - in any other situation (not on my sister-in-law's bday), I would have sent it back as the lack of seasoning rendered it nearly inedible. The salmon (ordered medium) was underseasoned but cooked correctly and came with a red sauce poured tableside. The sauce tasted similar to a warm gazpacho - not really my jam but the salmon skin was crispy and that's always appreciated. The half chicken with potato leek puree was similar to a rotisserie style chicken and mashed potatoes - tasted ok but nothing special. We ended the evening with a tiramisu for the bday girl and chocolate gelato. Both were solid. So we left feeling confused. Kitchen team went to the trouble to allegedly make pasta in-house...but then didn't follow through where it would have counted. Just an overall disappointing experience at a restaurant that prides itself on sophisticated and authentic Italian dining. read more

Talk about amazing pasta!! This spot was so delish! They make their pasta in house daily and their sauces are also homemade too (and yes you can tell the difference!) you don't leave feeling overly full and bloated because all the food is so light and fresh! One of the fluffiest omelets I have ever had. Opt'd to sub veggies and no problem. Service is great and the bartender overheard us talking about mimosas and just brought them. Il Modo is located inside of Kimpton Harper hotel. Since we were staying at the hotel, it was convenient for us to have dinner at Il Modo since my family were all washed up after a long hot day. However, it was very disappointing dinner. We actually made a to-go order so we could just eat in our hotel room. We ordered meatballs, spaghetti, linguine and chef's featured pizza. Pizza was the best part of the mal, but the portion was very small. Meatballs were also decent but little dry. Spaghetti and linguine were horrible - they use freshly made pasta, so definitely it would be best if you can eat at the restaurant right away when the food comes out. But we were in same building, and it took less than 5 minutes for my husband to come back with food. Both spaghetti and linguine were so overcooked, all noodles were sticking to each other, making a big blob. Flavor was definitely lacking. I don't even know what taste that was. This restaurant is definitely over priced for the food that they provide. read more

The lamb shank was a great choice but came to the table cooler than I would have chosen. The Brussels sprouts were exquisite. The Texas Redfish was flakey and delicious. I only had breakfast here so, I am not certain how lunch or dinner service fare. The positive is that the food was good. The negative is that the service is abysmal. The restaurant was practically empty but wait staff seem completely uninterested in serving and when they are not uninterested, they are talking to one another and ignoring the customers. I was given cold coffee and sat with any empty cup for quite awhile before deciding to get up and serve myself. The decor is elegant and relaxed.
