Beautiful balsamic vinaigrette with the bread basket in the wine.

November 2025 is truffle season white truffle season! I had beautiful tagliatelle with white truffles. Special!

We first visited Il Barretto in July 2024, and this restaurant was on our definite return list for our visit to Firenze in November 2025. The food is outstanding! So delicious and the ambiance provides for an intimate dining experience. Service is a attentive and responsive and friendly. Don't miss this special culinary delight on Via del Parione!

Our hotel gave us this recommendation and it was delicious. Only a block from our hotel, the walk was easy. We were seated immediately upon arriving at our reservation time. The restaurant's tables are close to each other so expect some noise and lots of energy. We split everything and started with spaghetti carbonara. So good. Nice creamy sauce and bacon flavor. Next we had sea bass. It came out wrapped in the tin foil it was cooked in. Almost looked like a silver swan. The server removes the foil and puts on a plate at your table. We had mashed potatoes with the sea bass. Everything was excellent. Loved the fresh tomatoes served with the sea bass. Very nice flavor. We wrapped up the meal with crème brûlée for dessert. Wonderful crust on top of tasty custard. Service was excellent. There were four people serving all the tables and they worked well together. Love how hot our food was when they brought it out to us. Great experience.

We could not have been more pleased with every aspect of our experience. The food was delicious. The service was first rate. The owner was cordial and made sure we wanted for nothing. We were also served the most delicious balsamic vinegar. Dinner was Skewers of squid and prawns, Fried seafood platter and Chocolate soufflé. If we ever get back to Florence, we will dine here again.

Finally (and mean finally) we made it to Florence. We were exhausted and 'hangry'. We dressed up to make our pre-wedding reception and hors d'oeuvres were just not going to cut it....so we're like hey, this place has great reviews!! Well let me tell you...they score off the chart! So friendly, so welcoming, so attentive! And the food, fantastic! Located on a beautiful street, so the ambiance is exactly what you imagine when thinking of a romantic Italian restaurant. I hope you get Massimo as your attendant. He is incredible with recommendations and knowledge of the restaurant (and area). I will not forget you. Nor this wonderful experience. PS hey guys..this is Jessie and I hope to see you again!!

Front window from inside, I thought it was a cool way of showing the name.

So I read a review about how nice the owners weee and just based in the comments from that review we decided to try this place. We had only been in Firenze for a day and didn't realize you must make reservations! While we hadn't done that's we did arrive right when they opened and we met the owner who was super nice and welcomed us in and seated us at the best table! I am craving the eggplant parmigiana!! We ordered a couple of those plus the frito misto which was out of this world !! Listen the pasta in Italy is very different, every good restaurant will make their own and you have do yourself a favor and order it as often as possible. The other review was right, the owner is super nice and the food is OUTSTANDING!!!!

It was rainy when I got to this restaurant. I was in the mood for pasta so I ordered some sparking water, and 2 primi pasta dishes because they both sounded amazing. The service was attentive and fast. The dishes were well presented, but the flavors were OK. I had better pasta and less expensive in Florence. What irked me was the 4 euro cork charge for opening a water bottle. That was weird. Anyway, I was not impressed given all the options in Florence.

This restaurant was one of our favorites in Florence! It was recommended we call for a reservation by the person who told us about this place, so we did call about 30 minutes before to see if they had availability for the same evening. Luckily, they did! We were immediately seated at a cozy table for 2. I ordered the most delicious penne pasta Iv'e ever had and my husband had the Taglierini with black truffle! Just the freshest, tastiest meal and we wanted to go back but unfortunately never made it. The only one thing I didn't care for was the woman (who I think was the owner) kinda rushed us out after our meal, because she wanted the table to be free for other people wanting to dine. While I understand somewhat, I wish we weren't so rushed out, especially because we were enjoying our conversation with a couple we had met that sat next to us. Overall, the food was top notch and definitely would highly recommend!

We had the pleasure of dining at this wonderful restaurant conveniently located near the Savoy in old town Florence. We were greeted by Massimo and his wonderful staff. They made us feel right at home and were attentive to our every need. Their knowledge of traditional Florentine cuisine and local wines was amazing. The Florentine steak , and the salted fish are two dishes we would recommend. From the ambience, to the staff...if you're visiting Florence, YOU HAVE TO HAVE AT LEAST ONE MEAL HERE!!! Thanks again to our new friend Massimo for two unbelievable meals and great conversation! We look forward to seeing you again next summer.

    Bistecca alla Fiorentina

Eggplant parm appetizer was BOMBBBB. Definitely one of the pricier restaurants we went to in Florence. Bistecca steak was very simple but delicious. Was cooked just how we asked -medium rare. Husband absolutely loved it! The house wine (Brunello) was honestly some of the best wine we had in Italy Overall would recommend for the bistecca experience. Service was good as well!

The best staff and the best food. I had the pear Gorgonzola pasta and it was so unique and delicious. They gave us a post dinner free limoncello shots!! Our server was so sweet his name was Ryan!

We had been there 40 minutes before flagging the waiter to order. The good news is once we order the food came out at a reasonable pace. Started with the warm octopus salad that was quite nice with nice chunks of tender octopus and warm potatoes. We also tried the Bistecca Florentine here. The nice thing is they have a smaller minimum serving size of only 700 g which is about 1 1/2 pounds. And it was really really good. It was cooked perfectly and well seasoned lots of nice salt and the taste was among the best states that I've had actually. And for the price of only €5.5 per 100 g it was actually very reasonable we paired with roasted potatoes and grilled vegetables, which were perfect compliments. The additional kicker was hooking on Tripadvisor a reservation. We got a 20% off our bill which made the meal even more affordable. It was our least expensive dinners and we loved it.

We chatted with the table next to us on the way out and met some fellow Texans! On our way out, the owner also remembered my name and started introducing me to other tables to make friends. What a fun place to be! The food was absolutely amazing. When we saw them slicing the salami right in front of us, we decided to order the salami plate and we were so glad we did! The zucchini flower and saffron pasta was bursting with flavor and the pasta was so perfectly cooked. I couldn't get enough! The duck ragu pasta was also hearty, rich, and delicious. The sauce was so good, my family soaked up every last bit with our bread. The ricotta spinach ravioli was also amazing!! Again the sauce was such a standout. The ravioli was so fresh with the perfect amount of bite. The green pepper sauce steak was soooo good. Cooked perfectly, with such a unique sauce that the whole peppercorns added perfectly to in texture and spice. Finally, the raspberry tiramisu. We were so full, but when they set these down our dessert stomachs were ready. They were amazing! Not the strongest raspberry flavor, but still such a delicious end to the meal. Side note, you MUST have a reservation to eat here, and they only take reservations by call. Because I didn't have a way to call them, I asked my Airbnb hosts who did it for me (also amazing people). While we were eating, there was a crowd forming outside of people waiting to get in but unable to. It's so worth it to visit Vini e Vecchi Sappori! I'll definitely have to come back next time I'm in Florence.

We had our hotel call for us when we checked in and were lucky to grab a 1:30 lunch slot on a Thursday afternoon. We saw the fat physical reservation book when we went, and also saw an attempted walk-in get turned away. We wanted to go for dinner, but I'm just glad we were able to get in at all. Vini e Vecchi Sapori was easily my favorite restaurant in Florence. I loved the cozy, vibrant dining room, snug and eclectically decorated. We were at a table so tiny, I worried about pulling a muscle when I crossed my legs. It was nestled amongst other tiny tables, and abutted a counter where plates were put out for service and the reservation book set down in its glory next to my husband's head. Service was warm, efficient, and attentive. Our waiter basically told what to order and we obeyed him, with excellent results. The one-page handwritten menu, helpfully available in English, presented the day's offerings and this preemptive list of disclaimers: No Pizza No Cappuccino No The Fork No Ice No Spritz No Ketchup FUCK CANCER There was a brief selection of Italian wines by the glass, and we got the Chianti Classico and the Bruno de Montalcino, both lovely. The food was delicious, starting with good bread and good olive oil. We ordered the mixed Tuscany salami and the beef carpaccio as appetizers, and they were both superb and not in the least bit redundant. There were four or five types of salami, every one of them fantastic, and I loved the thin, silky carpaccio, served with rucola, parmesan, olive oil, and black pepper. We shared two splendid pastas, spinach ricotta ravioli in a creamy rose tomato sauce and a hearty pappardelle with duck ragu. For dessert, we had the lush, irresistible raspberries tiramisu. I plan to come back to Florence one day, and will make a point of coming back to Vini e Vecchi Sapori. It's a special restaurant, the kind you hope to find in Italy, a welcoming place with lively ambiance and wonderful food.

Not many places actually have yelp reviews, but this one had so many with great feedback. The food looked amazing. When we arrived we thought they were closed, but that is because they moved to a bigger restaurant a few doors down. When we arrived at the front, the gentleman asked if we had reservations, which we didn't. He directed us to the line with no reservations. The line was a bit long, but doubled in size almost immediately. It also started pouring rain during this time and we were ALL getting drenched even with an umbrella. The non reservation line was not really moving unless people left the line. We waited a good hour. As we inched closer and closer, the lines were now both outrageous and getting seated seemed like a distant memory. The staff came out and gave out Sangria and Bread bites to help those in line feel welcome. We did finally get seated and we were so glad we waited, it was worth it!
