We stayed at a hotel right down the street and while walking around this afternoon I saw this place. My wife and I don't eat any meat or dairy, so it's not easy finding options. I thought it might be a good place to go. The waiter was super accommodating. I ended up getting the plain gnocchi, with the cannolini bean side dish on top. Wow! I know it's not a dish on the menu? But it should be! The gnocchi are super light and pillowy. The beans were unbelievably tasty and together they made an awesome new dish. My wife did the same with the with the gnocchi and grilled vegetables. My sun had muscles and my daughter had a mushroom and pasta dish. Great staff and awesome food!

I'm not sure how we ended up at this restaurant, but it was a nice choice. We were skeptical as it was right smack in the touristy area. The wait staff was attentive and helped us choose several dishes. The place was a reasonable size with hand sketch Italian landscapes on the walls. This was beautiful. The food was really tasty. They are known for their meat options. The goal was to try something that we hadn't so far. The standout dish was the Ribollita. Our waiter stated that either people loved it or hate it....well we loved it! The house wine was actually pretty good. Nice evening meal. Don't shy away from this location because it is in the tourist area. Worth a visit.

An amazing restaurant that you would think is a tourist place but it isn't at all. Really lovely pizzas and pasta. I had the vegetarian pizza and it was fabulous the mushroom tagliateli was perfectly al dente. Bruschetta was flavorful with perfect bread. Service was quick and professional. A treasure of a place.

Had a wonderful dinner here. Right next to Rialto bridge. Minestrone soup and lasagna was great. House wine and great service. The real deal.

It is a no frills restaurant that offers authentic Tuscano cuisine that is located right by Ponte Vecchio. The portion of the dishes here are large and tasted good. The owner is very friendly and our family enjoyed dining here. L

We only went specifically for the pear ravioli (I've had better, but it was good). Located in a very touristy area so it doesn't feel as authentic cuisine.

We made a reservation ahead of time and came here mostly to try the t bone steak. I should've only ordered the steak and some sides but I think we were too hungry and ordered a full meal, which I would not recommend. We started with the caprese salad and Tuscan tomato soup. The salad was fresh and good. The tomato soup was personally not up my alley. It was a little too chunky and not soupy enough for me. Flavor was very light and slightly bland. The soup was better when I paired it with bread seasoned with oil and vinegar. Next we had the ragu and mushroom pasta. Both were not bad and the pasta itself was yummy, neither were mind blowing. Mushroom pasta was buttery but the mushroom were a little too rubbery and slimey for my taste. The minimum weight for the Florentine steak here is 1.2kg. It was a little over cooked in our opinion but still tender with good flavor. We seasoned it with a little pepper, olive oil and salt. Overall, we felt like the meal was fine but wouldn't come back again/recommend to others to make time for.

My favorite Florentine! Do not miss having a meal at Trattoria Ponte Vecchio!

I've traveled to Florence many times, and must say that the city has some of the best food I've ever tried. I also have to say that Trattoria Ponte Vecchio is far superior to many of the restaurants I've visited while here. I'm currently in Florence for about five weeks taking an Italian course and in that time I must have visited Salvatore and his lovely staff at least 5 times. My favorite dishes are the fiochi and the lasagna. Also, I consider myself to be a tiramisu connoisseur, and they've got the best one I've had so far. If you're in Florence, do NOT miss this culinary experience. Not only will you leave with a happy belly, but you'll be made to feel like part of the family.

We ordered the 2.6 lb dry aged Florentine steak and gnocchi. The Florentine steak is a must try steak here. It was very juicy, tender, and it was bursting with flavor. The meat was nice and chewy. The steak was gigantic and it is bigger than my head. They first bring out the raw steak and weight it in front of you. The steak is enough to share for three people. The gnocchi was also very delicious. It was cheesy and rich. It was also in a way creamy and the cheese just melted in your mouth. One of the best things I've ever put in my mouth and eaten. The cheesecake is very famous in this restaurant. We tried it and understand why. The cheesecake was super creamy and soft. I had a great time and experience here. Definitely will be back sometime soon hopefully. This is a place I highly recommend to everyone. Come and try it out for yourselves.

He was awesome and had us laughing the entire night. We peppered him with a lot of questions about the menu, he answered everything and also accommodated my father-in-law, who is GF. He had his own GF bread basket and was able to order almost anything on the menu. We ordered a nice bottle of Montepulciano red for the table that was $48. Others had the Hugo spritz. For app I had the anchovies with roasted red pepper, sea salt and oil over grilled crostini, very good. I skipped first course and ordered the ribeye steak for my main course. Bone in, medium rare, sprinkled with sea salt and a side of onion marmalade. The steak was very good and had way less fat than I expected. The waiter suggested a huge steak for the table, but I was the only one ordering steak that night. Maybe next time. Others ordered the fillet and it was cooked perfectly, the angels and demons gnocchi, and the veal scallopini. Everybody was pleased Really cool spot with a very good wine selection, drinks, excellent food and a fun atmosphere that you don't find at many places. Nugo was an A+ server.

The atmosphere alone is worth a visit, but the food is what truly makes it exceptional. We ordered the ravioli, pappardelle with wild boar ragù, the Florentine steak, a mixed salad, affogato, and fresh strawberries with mascarpone cream. To drink, we shared a small carafe of red wine and a Pinot Grigio. Everything was spectacular. The Florentine steak was easily the best--and largest--I have ever had. Perfectly cooked, incredibly flavorful, and remarkably tender, it was the highlight of an already outstanding meal. The pappardelle with boar ragù was rich, hearty, and deeply satisfying, while the ravioli was beautifully prepared and full of flavor. Every dish felt authentic, carefully executed, and memorable. The wine was another pleasant surprise. Both selections were excellent and very reasonably priced, making the meal feel like an even better value. Our waiter was friendly, attentive, and incredibly helpful. He patiently answered questions, explained the menu, and guided us toward some fantastic choices. Although we thought we were too full for dessert, we're very glad we changed our minds. The affogato was fantastic, and the strawberries with mascarpone cream were absolutely delicious. One of the highlights of the evening was watching our four-year-old happily clutching two spoons and enthusiastically scooping fresh strawberries and mascarpone into his mouth. It was one of those memorable family travel moments that you don't forget. A terrific meal, a unique historic setting, excellent service, and a wonderful atmosphere. This was one of our favorite dining experiences in Florence, and I highly recommend it.

Were ordered a bottle of Chianti Classico to start, as well as a few pastas plus the steak and cod. I can safely say the spaghetti pomodoro with burrata was the best pasta dish I've had in Italy - the pasta was perfectly cooked and the cherry tomatoes was so sweet, the kind of thing that reminds you why you came to Italy in the first place. The soups were all well prepared and the medley of ingredients were just absolutely enjoyable. It was the first time I tried these traditional Tuscan soups and I'll be looking for more in the future. As for the pork dish (Arista di Maiale), the meat was very tender, savory and so tasty. I chose to get a glass of red wine to enjoy with the meal and I like their model where they bring you a newly opened bottle and only charge you by what you pour. Smart on them since of course I poured myself more than one glass so really it's a win win for both. Reservations are highly recommended and there are no English menus available. Thankfully, one of the staff flagged down another worker who spoke english and was able to walk me through the menu. He was very friendly, helpful and patient. I cannot wait to go back and try the other traditional Florentine dish, the 1kg steak :)

Am I the only one that thought steak florentine was supposed to be served this way? Maybe that's was my mistake but I thought that's how it was prepared in Florence. Anyways, I was immediately suspicious when our waitress asked how we would like our steak cooked and her suggestions were medium or medium well. Uhhhh what? That goes against everything I believe in! The steak came out on a hot stone slab on top of a wooden box. The slab obviously continued to cook the steak so I immediately took off a few pieces to prevent this. The steak was thick and tender with chunks of large salt grains. It looked nice all sliced up but that's where the compliments end. It lacked flavor and ended up cooking to be more medium rare when I grabbed my pieces and then even medium by the time my dad grabbed his second slice. Our waitress seemed annoyed when we asked for the truffle sauce to accompany our steak (my dad forgot to ask for it when we placed our original order) and walked away with a huff to go grab it. The fries came out cold and limp with flavorless truffle shavings on top. I'm not sure why this place has such great reviews. Maybe it got too big for its britches and the quality has declined? The one saving grace was the crema bruciata! And the very understanding hostess who gladly pushed our reservation from 7:30 to 8:00pm due to travel difficulties. Whatever the reason, this place definitely missed the mark. You can't walk three steps without seeing a steakhouse here in Florence. My recommendation? Try one of those.
