Stopped in here for a glass and some small bites. The good: extensive list by the glass. The small bites selection was great and the location was intimate. The not so good: the prices have gone up, we wanted to order a bottle and take some with us, the price listed on the bottle in the shop is not the price you pay when you drink it there, so beware. The drink there price was twice and much and we could have purchased four individual glasses for much cheaper, I'm not sure how they are working out their math. I didn't notice that, mostly because the menu is a bit messy. So don't be like is, buy glasses. It felt a little like a trap. read more

While walking around on a sunny day, I happened to find this lovely place - what a prefect timing to take a break! It's a very cozy place. Walked in, sat down, then one of the friendly servers asked what I wanted. They all speak good English, so no communication issue. I enjoyed some nice chilled white wines. I had known about "The Fox and the Grapes" because it's been mentioned on numerous guidebooks and cracks the top 100 on TripAdvisor for restaurants. I found myself wandering around the other side of the Arno River unexpectedly and as I turned a corner I realized that this enoteca was staring at my face, accolade stickers and all. It was getting close to dinner time and I found it to be a great opportunity to just have a glass of wine and a snack. I remember sitting at the bar and ordering a glass of red and a crostone con salsiccia al tartufo (Asiago cheese and sausage with truffle, €8). Their crostinis are their signature food and are made as shareables, but as a solo traveler the serving portion was enough that I considered it a full meal. The crostini was super crispy, the asiago cheese was soft and mild and the sausage had little bits of truffle integrated in the meat itself. Good portion of meat to carb. As they are an entoeca they have a selection of Tuscan wine and they are able to ship internationally. Considering their accolades I can assure you no sour grapes are sold here. read more

We visited on Tuesday night in October at 7 PM, having made a reservation, and did not feel rushed at all. This is one of those places that I always wanted to go but never did so finally I got the chance to hit this place up for a girls night - 'wine wednesday' since a friend of mine knew it pretty well. Located in piazza santa felicita, a tiny and very pretty piazza off Ponte Vecchio on the way to Palazzo Pitti, its tucked away next to a restaurant and they have both indoor and outdoor seating. You want to make reservations and sit outside since it does get crowded any day of the week, its just a popular place. We ordered a bottle of prosecco which was awesome along with brischette (toasted bread) covered in cheese & anchovies. We also got a French cheese plate and a bottle of red wine from bolgheri which was absolutely amazing. The perfect aperitivo snack for us girls and we didn't spend more than 20 euros each so I was pretty happy! Perfect place to bring someone new to Florence or just a relaxing evening with wine & friends, I will be back! read more
