    Bread with tartare
    Monica R.

Stopped by here for a late lunch and it was great. Everything from the cleanliness of the restaurant to the service and the food was on point. We started with the beef tartare and it had great flavor, it was fresh buttery and soft. The gnudi was creamy and had great texture. It was missing a bit of salt but still very enjoyable. The seafood pasta had plenty of seafood and had great flavor. Great experience. Food was delicious and so was the wine.

Trattoria dall'Oste in the heart of Florence (Firenze) Italy. Having their Chianina Beef Steak was a Life Changing experience. We've tried USDA Prime, Kobe, and Wagyu. From places like DK's, Wolfgang's, steakhouses from Nee York to Japan. The steaks they're serving in Florence / Firenze is the best I've ever had. Impeccable service from the front to the back of the house. Cozy dining room. They also serve Italian cuisine but they're Famous the World over for their Steaks. .

Blown away by the Bistecca alla Florentina! You could definitely make a reservations because it gets very busy. We decided to have an early dinner and luckily were able to get a table right away. The restaurant is low lighting and very clean. The T-Bone steak was phenomenal! It came on a hot plate which made it fun to cook the steak to your liking! The amount of steak that it comes in is plenty to share. The side grilled vegetables we got were kind of cold and so we actually put it on the hot plate to warm it up and it was delicious! We also got the pasta which was good, but we probably didn't need to order it since we were so full from the steak. Service was great! Very attentive staff!

We came here our first night in Florence. This restaurant was highly recommended by our hotel and TripAdvisor. We did not have a reservation but at 8:00pm we had no problem getting a table. We were seated quickly and the service was excellent. The server explained the traditional Florentine steak and best options for ordering. We ordered a 1.2 Kg steak for 2 people, cooked the traditional style rare to medium rare. We added arugula salad and grilled vegetables. The steak was served on a sizzling hot cast iron serving platter. It was absolutely amazing, cooked to perfection. The salad and vegetables were also delicious and all were good size portions. We also ordered a nice bottle of wine and the service presentation was perfect. The waiter ensured we tasted the wine and that the glasses were perfectly decanted. We wrapped up the meal with tiramisu and dessert wine. Both were delicious and the portions were perfect. Overall this was a great meal and the ambiance was very pleasing. Service was excellent and not pushy. They seemed genuinely interested in ensuring that the meal was perfect. I would highly recommend a visit to one of the 4 locations in Florence. This location was a short walk from our hotel and offered an enjoyable evening stroll after the meal through the piazzas surrounding the duomo.

We were in Florence with a Tauck tour and one of our fellow travelers had heard about this place from a friend of theirs. He and his wife invited me and my husband to go to dinner with them here. We had an 8:30 reservation and the place was already packed. The restaurant has plenty of appetizers and pastas, but their signature dish is steak. My husband and the other male member of our party split the signature dish, the Florentine steak. It was humongous! It comes to the table on a hot grilling plate. I had the lasagna. It was a good size portion and tasty. Our fourth dining guest had the sliced beef with rocket salad and mushrooms. She requested medium but it came out kind of rare.

Excellent food and service! Bistecca Fiorentina was perfect and wine suggestion from our server perfectly complimented the meal. Wonderful dining experience

My husband and I came to Dall'Oste at via dei cherchi for our first wedding anniversary. We got the Florentine steak to share and it was very good and flavorful. I will say, we wished they would have shown us the cut beforehand, because it was a little fattier than we would have liked it. The service was fine, but we didn't have just one server and I wish we did. It made the experience a little less personable. I heard other locations of Dall'Oste in Florence were better, so we would definitely try another location. Be aware this is a very touristy place to go. Overall the food was great.

Immediately upon walking in, grabbing our reserved table was a little hard and to be frank kind of cold as we waited in that hallway with meats in the window. We got escorted to a table in the foreign people section I'm sure as all of them were Asian just like us so I wasn't sure if this was racial profiling or like just a foreign thing to grab a waiter who will try to fill our nights with jokes that we don't really get because he was very witty and very rude but somehow managed to make us laugh by the end of the night or maybe it was just the amount of steak we ate we just thought his comments were just insane and ridiculous. Definitely don't come for service. The Wagyu was the fave and honestly our waiter did good in recommending this as the Wagyu is from Venice Italy. We also ordered the porter from Italy as well to try it and the Wagyu was melting in your mouth like butter! The porter was good too I enjoy the fat parts here as they have a bit of a good crunch to the meat. The salad had no dressing just so you know, and the potatoes were soooo good but they're boiled so just precaution if you're an American searching for fried potatoes - it's not. HOWEVER I love these potatoes since they're boiled and buttery. Quite in fact suits the steak since the steak is already so heavy. I loved the steak here and since we don't tip I guess service doesn't matter here in Italy. Food is amazing and very worth while. Totally recommend this to people who want to try florentine steak.

This place by far is my favorite steakhouse. There is a lot of competition in Florence for bistecca Fiorentina but for me the combination of the high quality of the food, the extensive and incredible wine list and the attentive staff make this place the overall choice. The interior of the restaurant also lends to the experience with its arched and domed ceiling which take you back in time. I highly recommend this restaurant if you are in Firenze.

They get you in and out quickly. No lingering! The server approached our table for the first time and said "you ready?" No greeting, no offer of drinks, no sharing details about the menu. One of my bigger pet peeves. Combined with a few other interesting happenings during our evening it was just not the service we'd prefer. The food was fine - particularly enjoyed the dessert of profiteroles and the potatoes. But as soon as that last utensil was placed down, we were aware it was time to go. They flip tables very quickly here. Restaurant was beautiful and cozy. Looks small but in reality is quite large with multiple rooms. Appreciated the 20% discount off of our bill through Yelp check-in. But after 8 nights in Italy (so probably 15 meals out) it was the first one to ask for gratuity when we paid. Would not return.

While walking back to our Hotel while visiting Fienza from Florida USA, we stopped in Trattoria Dali Oste and glad we did. First we were lucky to get a table just walking in without a reservation. There were four of us adults. My wife got a pasta dish and my sister her husband and I got a group T-bone steak meal which included salad drink and meat and cheese appetizer for 41 euros each. Everything tasted great and were were able to share some with my wife. The steak was large divided three ways and cooked to perfection. Overall compared to the USA the price was fairly higher but it was alright we are on vacation and ate well..

    Fara A.

Delicious Italian beef T-bone steak... prepared as recommended, medium rare, and some pieces were medium, on the hot stone. Service was good, not as attentive as in the US, but fine. The potatoes were a perfect accompaniment and the tiramisu was the best I've ever had. Tips: Pay at the front desk/stand. Use Yelp check-in to get 20% off!

This place is incredible. I had seen it all over Instagram and wanted to check it out. The service was perfect, very welcoming and accommodating for a large group. The restaurant had very nice AC so it wasn't uncomfortable to sit there for a while. It was also extremely nice on the inside, the decorations and design is great. Now for the food, we got 3 Florentine steaks and 1 Wagyu. 10/10. The meat was perfectly cooked on all 4 steaks, they were fatty and delicious. The appetizers like the tartar and cheese with prosciutto honey/jam was perfect. The wine was also very good. Our waiter was super friendly and had no issue answering the 1 million questions we asked about the food and drinks menu. Overall amazing experience.

Bone in, medium rare, sprinkled with sea salt and a side of onion marmalade. The steak was very good and had way less fat than I expected. The waiter suggested a huge steak for the table, but I was the only one ordering steak that night. Maybe next time. Everybody was pleased Really cool spot with a very good wine selection, drinks, excellent food and a fun atmosphere that you don't find at many places. Nugo was an A+ server.

Not many places actually have yelp reviews, but this one had so many with great feedback. The food looked amazing. When we arrived we thought they were closed, but that is because they moved to a bigger restaurant a few doors down. When we arrived at the front, the gentleman asked if we had reservations, which we didn't. He directed us to the line with no reservations. The line was a bit long, but doubled in size almost immediately. It also started pouring rain during this time and we were ALL getting drenched even with an umbrella. The non reservation line was not really moving unless people left the line. We waited a good hour. As we inched closer and closer, the lines were now both outrageous and getting seated seemed like a distant memory. The staff came out and gave out Sangria and Bread bites to help those in line feel welcome. We did finally get seated and we were so glad we waited, it was worth it! We ordered the Spaghetti Carbonara, the lobster spaghettini and the chicken breast with roasted potatoes. We also ordered sangria. Everything was so good and our total was 83 €. Prices were unbelievable! We were amazed at the quality, the service and how large the restaurant they relocated to was. It was like a well oiled machine. The food coming out quickly and efficiently. The most memorable dish we had was the appetizer we order - fried polenta with mushrooms and chicken liver pate, the polenta fried crispy, the mushrooms creamy and the chicken liver pate so smooth and savory. We also ordered 2 pasta dishes - wild boar sauce pappardelle and spaghetti alla carbonara. So tasty and with depth of flavors. Paired well with the house white wine we ordered as well. On top of the pain of securing a reservation (they only take these over the phone; no online system), the only slot I could secure even as a solo diner was as soon as they opened, at 6pm, and via a bar seat. When I arrived, I was immediately greeted by several of the staff, all warm/kind. One of them offered me a table, even though I humbly mentioned I'd be fine with whatever was convenient to them. I looked around and saw what seemed to be majority American tourists so I had very standard expectations. Well, what commenced...my god. I'm getting chills now thinking about the entire experience. Just the absolute perfect dinner my first night in Florence. Everything on the menu looked fantastic and I was even tempted to order 2 Primi (pastas) but my server discouraged it, said they were quite large. Instead she guided towards the "must" appetizer, the "onion flan with pecorino cheese and truffle" followed by their signature pasta, "pappardelle with wild boar ragù" The appetizer literally brought me to tears as soon as I took a bite. I didn't think I liked truffle but this was life-changing. And the pasta was served piping hot and also to die for. I complemented the meal with a delicious glass of white and red and ended with the utterly divine tiramisu. I will be dreaming about this meal for years to come. So epic.

We saw the fat physical reservation book when we went, and also saw an attempted walk-in get turned away. We wanted to go for dinner, but I'm just glad we were able to get in at all. Vini e Vecchi Sapori was easily my favorite restaurant in Florence. I loved the cozy, vibrant dining room, snug and eclectically decorated. We were at a table so tiny, I worried about pulling a muscle when I crossed my legs. It was nestled amongst other tiny tables, and abutted a counter where plates were put out for service and the reservation book set down in its glory next to my husband's head. Service was warm, efficient, and attentive. Our waiter basically told what to order and we obeyed him, with excellent results. The one-page handwritten menu, helpfully available in English, presented the day's offerings and this preemptive list of disclaimers: No Pizza No Cappuccino No The Fork No Ice No Spritz No Ketchup FUCK CANCER There was a brief selection of Italian wines by the glass, and we got the Chianti Classico and the Bruno de Montalcino, both lovely. The food was delicious, starting with good bread and good olive oil. We ordered the mixed Tuscany salami and the beef carpaccio as appetizers, and they were both superb and not in the least bit redundant. There were four or five types of salami, every one of them fantastic, and I loved the thin, silky carpaccio, served with rucola, parmesan, olive oil, and black pepper. We shared two splendid pastas, spinach ricotta ravioli in a creamy rose tomato sauce and a hearty pappardelle with duck ragu. For dessert, we had the lush, irresistible raspberries tiramisu. I plan to come back to Florence one day, and will make a point of coming back to Vini e Vecchi Sapori. This restaurant is such a VIBE. Cozy, romantic and a total scene. Service was great as was the food. It was tough because there was so much on the menu that I wanted to try but we couldn't not order the pear ravioli and the Florentine steak. If I went back I would want to try the ossobuco which I saw at the table next to us and looked dynamite. If you only had one night in Florence this is the restaurant I would recommend.

I shared two pasta dishes with my daughter (the handmade Pappardelle with Maremman Wild Boar Ragu and the Carbonara). Both were very good but not the best we've had. Appetizers were good: Salad with pecorino cheese, oranges, pine nuts and walnuts. We ordered the Octopus appetizer as well. The Octopus was beautifully prepared and presented, but didn't have much flavor. They nailed the Espresso Martini! One of the best I've ever had! We ordered the huge Florentine steak to share between 4 of us and it was more than enough. Ultimately what knocked this review down to 3 stars and what was really disappointing was how they targeted us as tourists with the note at the bottom of the bill (see picture). It read "GRATUITY NOT INCLUDED" in all CAPITAL LETTERS. Also note it was the only thing in English on the entire bill. If it had been our first meal in Florence we might have fallen for this tactic, however it was our last. There's definitely some hostility towards tourists in Florence. Don't get me wrong, some of the people and restaurants we've visited have been very welcoming and friendly. However we recently saw tourist taxes go up significantly, and then you see tricks like this on the bill at La Giostra. This was the ONLY restaurant in Florence where we encountered this. Once jet fuel prices make flying a relic of the past I would argue that some Europeans who depend on tourists for their livelihood may not miss our presence but will certainly miss our spending. Save your money and go research the many other places to eat while in Florence.

It's close enough to the lively, bustling part of Firenze to feel connected, yet just far enough to escape the city's never-ending wave of tourists. The service was incredible, and the owner (I'm pretty sure it was the owner?) brought so much energy that he single-handedly turned the whole place into an eclectic little spot during the "rush hour" of the evening. The menu was solid, if a bit "generic" at times. While everything we ordered was delicious, nothing at Trattoria Giovanni felt like a dish you couldn't find elsewhere... and honestly, that's perfectly fine! It was traditional, comforting, and exactly what we were craving. The plate of cured meats and cheese was phenomenal, a great start to the meal. The pastas were really good as well, though one of the meat dishes had a slightly off texture, with the chunks of meat a bit overcooked. All in all, we loved our meal and would definitely recommend this spot if you're in Florence.
