    Florence steak
    Ana R.

This was my first stop when visiting Florence for the first time and it did not disappoint. We got a sampler platter as an appetizer to feed 6 people and it was gone within minutes. The pâté is mind blowing and recommend to anyone who has not had it before. The pastas were great and you can really tell that those noodles are home made and perfectly Al dente. Now for the Florentine steak. It was our second course and even though on the menu it says it feeds 2 people it fed a whole group of 6 and there were still leftovers. This portion is HUGE and delicious. It was priced at $100, but split between 6 it really was worth it. The service was great despite several tables being served. Highly recommend you check this neighborhood joint out!

This place was really good! Reservations online were really easy to make. The pasta tasted handmade in the carbonara. Wait staff were friendly and the food came out quickly. The tiramisu here was soo good. Definitely our #1 pick in Florence.

    Florence Steak - Medium

Hearing that steaks were all the rage in Florence, I knew that I had to try it somewhere and decided here after seeing many positive reviews. They definitely did not disappoint! We got the Florence Steak cooked medium and although it came out a little rare, it was still very delicious. We got two steaks for a family of 5 and it was more than enough. One of them was leaner than the other, with the fattier steak being a bit more enjoyable personally. This was easily one of the best steaks that I have ever had and I can only recommend others to give it a try! The service was very friendly and welcoming, recommending us other dishes to try to pair along with the steak. The ambiance was also beautiful, being seated at an outdoor patio with lots of foliage. Come here if you are looking for great food and a great time!

Gnocchi w/ Porcini, Speck & Brie

Delicious food, terrific staff and great ambience. I ordered the Gnocchi with Porcini mushrooms, Speck and Brie and it was absolutely amazing. Soft and pillowy as gnocchi should be. The Bruschetta sampler was really nice too. My favorites were the classic tomato and the pear, Burrata, walnuts and honey. Highly recommend this place!! Great prices too.

What a charming and welcoming restaurant we chose last night for our dinner. We had made a reservation for an early dinner and were warmly greeted by Jo and seated. We decided to share an appetizer and a first course and each have our own entrée. We started with the Dolce Burrata (Burrata crostone, pears, walnuts and honey) and then the Pici alla Senese (Pici with PGI Guanciale, fresh tomato and burrata). Both were yummy. We both heard the Chef Filets calling our names. The very large beef fillet with brandy in a Gorgonzola cream sauce with toasted walnuts was prepared perfectly. For a sweet ending, my husband had the homemade Tiramisu.

Absolutely fabulous food, wonderful service, beautiful terrace for eating. We stumbled into this neighborhood eatery going from the Boboli gardens to the Ponte Vecchio. Wonderful find.

Pici all' senese. Some of the best noodles I have had! Also their best seller.

Great service, amazing food, the best vibe! Come eat here!! I have been here multiple times and it never disappoints. Pici all' senese is my all time favorite. Bruschetta and pear & cheese appetizer are delicious.

The environment was good and the food was great. A little under salt - which seems to be typical in Italy in genera. But overall really recommend. I would give it 4.5 stars!

Trattoria Boboli has some of the best pasta that I have ever eaten. The rigatoni was outstanding. Also, definitely order a glass of wine, whether it be Pinot Grigio or Sangiovese. And, do not sleep on the appetizers here. The mozzarella, tomato, and eggplant dish with pesto was fantastic.

    Pizza Napoli. 8 €8. Amazing.

This is exactly what you want when you are visiting Italy. Doesn't be fooled by its off the beaten path location. It's a five minute walk from the Ponte Vecchio. In a lovely neighborhood where my wife and I have stayed over the last 20 years of visiting Florence. The food is spot on and the service is lovely. Check in on yelp and get free limoncello! Saluté!

Definitely one of the best, most underrated restaurants in Florence! I frequented here when I studied abroad and the staff was always very friendly to my friends and I. They all spoke english and even helped us with our Italian pronunciations! Order the Tri Color Gnocchi and you won't be disappointed. Although you can't really go wrong with anything on the menu. Great ambiance too. See if you can sit in the outside garden.

To start, just walking from the city centre to this hidden gem is amazing. Check our Langolino or one of the other many little bars on the way. You will also encounter so many little art shops and lovely spaces. The restaurant is so unassuming. we asked to be seated in the garden which is three levels of little nooks where people are eating. We sat down to the chefs menu and the regular, but I would recommend you ask the server for their suggestions. The pasta was magnificent and the cod was incredible. Caprese salad!!!!! And if you mention yelp, you will get a sweet treat at the end. I will definitely be back.

Pasta, fresh bread, and roasted potatoes. Carbs don't count in Italy.

We grabbed a bottle of wine on a warmer June afternoon after a day of exploring, which was definitely refreshing. The location isn't much as it overlooks a pretty bare piazza. The service can be a bit on the slower side, especially when I walked in and tried to get the bill. But still if you're able to get a table it's a pretty quaint wine bar. It seemed like they had some flights/tastings, which would have been an interesting option.

Title: Great wine selection, but disappointing service from our server Noemi…read moreWe visited Enoteca Pitti Gola because it was recommended by Wine Spectator, and the wine list truly is impressive -- an extensive and well-curated selection of Italian wines. We were two couples and went for some wine and light snacks. When we arrived, there wasn't a table available for four, so we had to sit separately. Once a table behind our friends became available, we asked to move so we could sit closer together, but our server, Noemi, wasn't very accommodating and seemed somewhat annoyed by the request. We mentioned that we wanted to share a few dishes and asked about portion sizes, but Noemi didn't explain things clearly and wasn't very friendly. She insisted the plates weren't meant for sharing, which turned out not to be true. The wine itself was excellent, and the snacks were good -- but the overall service from Noemi felt unfriendly and not very customer-oriented. I'd still recommend the place if you're interested in trying great Italian wines, but be aware that the service experience may not match the quality of the wine.

They do a fantastic job of pairing everything together to really bring so many flavors to your tastebuds. Their house wine is phenomenal and they take great pride in finding the grapes/different varietals to make it come to life. They have a both a red and a white house wine option. The second time we went - and yes, we went more than once in the four days we were there - we enjoyed one of the sandwiches and it was absolutely amazing. I definitely recommend this location to anybody who is visiting Florence regularly or for their first time.

The vibe itself is cool (automatic door walking in, dungeon-like walls with cute decorations). Walking to your table you walk by a huge wine selection, which can be overwhelming. We started with the asparagus and peas salad. This was pretty solid, simple but it worked. We grabbed the spaghetti with the cream of asparagus-normally wouldn't order so much asparagus but this was the pasta that sounded the most interesting to us and we did ultimately end up enjoying the sauce quite a bit and it was one of the better pasta dishes we had in Italy. Got a side of the white beans which we probably didn't need but didn't mind. The steak: first of all it's very sizable. The Florentine way is rarer than I would ever order a steak and while I'm glad I tried it, I probably wouldn't choose it again. It's an interesting ordering process as you're essentially given the sizes they have left there for the night so you never know walking exactly how much you'll pay. I do appreciate that they cut it for you but I did feel like some of the meat was still on the bone (not that we really needed MORE meat I just didn't want to waste any). The flavoring is pretty good but there are definitely bites that are better than the others. The service was a bit mixed. There were times they were interested in talking with us while others they didn't seem so interested and a bit aloof. This was especially true when we went to check out. Ultimately, served its purpose in introducing us to a style of steak we hadn't had before and did so in a way that we enjoyed.

The Peposo was perfection; if they just had Peposo as a dish, I'd order it! *Bistecca dell'Osteria (House Specialty Bone In Steak) - the star of the show!! While this isn't Chianni cattle or anything, this was fantastic piece of steak. Perfectly executed at medium rare.
