4.5 STARS Still delicious and still serving fresh sushi. Daughter wanted some sushi, and Ikon sushi delivered. Salmon was fresh with little bits of ikura scattered around was not only visually beautiful, but just as delectable. I also got a maki roll (forgot the name), it was just as good. Suffice to say, my daughter and I got our cravings satisfied.

Still as good as before. They have more sashimi here than rolls but honestly I don't mind it, everything tasted so fresh, and it looked like a piece of art. We ordered over 40 piece of sushi, the service was really fast, and the sushi just melts in your mouth. The fatty tuna was delicious had a shine to it, really good sushi one of the best I had.

Really high quality sushi at a reasonable price! Its super fresh and really well presented. I tried their Supreme Sushi set for 2 and each piece was delicious. It seems to be mostly for takeout - they had a lot of orders lined up for UberEats pick up. Cash or Debit only.

We ordered take out ofS5 sashimi, sushi and roll combo $60 and D2 Ikura and salmon don $19.50 is such a big bang for the buck. The rice is even seasoned, the quality is like omakase, the take out box is wrapped with Japanese style cloth wrap, very elegant, although a kind of waste.the staff is very friendly and efficient. The store is closed at 8:00pm, a little bit too early, but Love this new find sushi spot. Highly recommended.

The sushi bar is next to first markham place which is very convenient! But the outside looks a bit dark, so you might need to take some time to find it. The menu has so many options and I ordered 3 sushi rolls ( Double Salmon, IKON House Roll and Ultra Spicy Tuna) to go for 2 person and they were delicious and the potion was good for 2 person. My favourite is the IKON house roll and it made with purple rice which the texture and the taste were surprisingly good. And if you are takeaways, their packaging is so CUTE. They wrap it with a Japanese-style furoshiki cloth. Love it! However, the service was not the best, when I arrived there, and I was asking for the menu, the server responded me with a not friendly attitude and asked me to scan the QR code. Other than that, overall experience was amazing. Will definitely come back!

Where's the aesthetic of the menu lol

Where do I begin? We left and didn't order because their business model is absolute Ohio. They do QR but they do not have wifi. How do you MANDATE a service that requires an internet connection without providing an internet connection?? Make it make sense. When we went in, they just waved to the general dining hall and told us to seat ourselves?? What is this, a mom and pop 茶餐廳? Also, you can't even order from the QR... What is the point of the qr then? We gotta walk up to the counter (to the taped menu with the hair on it, as pictured) with our order memorized. Yes, I could Google the site but why should I? Other places don't do that, and I don't expect to Google the menu at every restaurant I visit. I'm here to eat, not to do research. Yet we're supposed to tip after all that? Tip for what? No water, no tea, no actual server, no greeting, half functional QR... There's no service. Even McDonald's has better customer service. This business is so fixated on prioritizing the convenience of the business that they have completely neglected customer experience. I get better service from the caf at my university. Not coming back unless/until they do a huge revamp of their business model.

Got takeout so can't really rate the services. They were nice enough when I interacted with them for the pick up. The decor is nothing crazy but plenty of TVs inside to watch while u eat. Pro tip is for takeout order 30 mins before your actual pick up time. Ie if u need 6pm pick up then call and ask for 530pm. This way u won't have to wait if u r early. The quality of the fish and sushi was 4 stars. Also I like the variety of rice.

Location/Service This place is right in the plaza next to First Markham Place, by A La Kitchen to be exact. There's good parking around that plaza and obviously you can park across at FMP. Decor inside is pretty trendy as it also served as a lounge. I didn't see much tables available for dining and I usually took it to go for takeout. Staff can actually speak Chinese and it was ready on time at pick up. I also like how they use an unique Japanese style cloth to wrap the bento like in the movies/anime vs plastic bag. Food I ordered the S5. Supreme Sushi, Sashimi & Roll - which is about 34 pieces, suitable for a party of 2-3 people. The quality of the fish is really fresh. I particularly enjoyed the toro and salmon pieces. It's quite fatty and thick, so you know they didn't "cheap" out on delivering the quality. The sushi rolls were also different to other places I've tried. I didn't expect a multi-grain/purple rice would make a delicious roll. Pricing wise I think it is reasonable for this quality, though I don't seem to see myself getting it on a regular basis - more like a little reward/splurge time-to-time.

Love everything about IKON! They always have fresh, quality fish and it's always so colourful! It comes with a linen cloth but tbh I think they should invest in nicer ones lol I believe it is cash only (possibly debit), but definitely not credit. It's also a pain to find parking spot because a bunch of them are reserved. Definitely not an everyday dinner, but once in awhile :)

Supreme sushi for 2. So good.

This is not a run of the mill sushi spot. Expect high quality food here and reasonable prices. Tried their sushi set and otoro set and they were delicious. Most people do takeout here, although there are seats for dining in. Definitely try Ikon if you haven't already!

I picked up the premium sashimi, sushi and roll platter (S6) with a bottle of beautiful junmai daiginjo sake for dinner tonight. With a la carte addition of uni and otoro sashimi, our first dinner from IKON was complete. The cloth wrapping was beautiful as can be seen in others' reviews and I certainly appreciated the store's effort to minimize waste. The take out was packed beautifully as well with careful attention detail. I usually don't order rolls as I find that it's just simply too much rice. IKON's rolls are interesting variation to the usual variety seen in most restaurants and were quite tasty. One of the sauces definitely had a hint of truffle which was so yummy! All the fish were beautifully fresh (except the uni maybe) and atop a very good shari. When you have fish that fresh, there is not enough words to describe the sheer joy of each bite. Accompanied by the beautifully smooth sake recommended by the staff, this was easily the best sushi dinner we have had in a while. We thoroughly enjoyed our first IKON experience and I look forward to trying out their other offering soon!

This was a good experience differ from other sushi places in the area. We ordered S4 for two people, Special roll ikon roll and supreme roll. I liked how they wrapped the take out box nicely and I enjoyed the presentation. Ingredients were fresh, the sushi was really good and the rolls were interesting! The price is a tad steep but overall a great place to try in the area. Best to order in advance as they can get busy

Great take out order at Chinese New Year for my friend birthday! It was beautiful plating (box) and yummy and quality food, sashimi are fresh and good size cut, we all love their sushi rice!! So good. The price are fare and worth to the portion and quality. $238.38 plus tax (好意頭)For 5 adults, all full and satisfying. Since lockdown I have been order take out from them, never disappointed! They are very friendly too. Highly recommended! https://www.ikonsushi.ca/

The establishment has a casual dine-in setup, offering a relaxed atmosphere suitable for a quick meal or a short break during the day. Despite being a dine-in restaurant, all food is served in takeout boxes, which, while convenient for those on the go, slightly diminishes the overall dining experience for those choosing to eat on the premises. The food quality itself was acceptable. Reasonably portioned, adequately seasoned, and prepared in a timely manner. While it may not stand out as exceptional, it fulfills the expectations for a casual meal. However, the main issue that significantly impacted my experience was the cleanliness of the tables. The first table I sat at had a noticeably sticky surface, which immediately raised concerns about hygiene and maintenance. Assuming it was an isolated case, I moved to a second table, only to encounter the same problem. A third attempt produced similar results, suggesting that this is not an isolated incident but rather a recurring issue throughout the dining area. A sticky table surface not only detracts from comfort but also gives the impression that cleaning practices are not being properly observed between guests. This, unfortunately, overshadowed what could have been a satisfactory meal. In summary, while the restaurant offers decent food at a fair value, the overall dining environment requires improvement, particularly in the table cleanliness and food presentation. Until this concern is addressed, I would recommend opting for takeout instead of dining in, as the food quality is adequate, but the in-house dining conditions fall short of acceptable standards.

The restaurant is super quiet and they offer great quality of food with great service, and the price is expensive if you choose to order sukiyaki set (expect $80+ per person). You can choose between sushi sets at different price level or sukiyaki from the menu. This suits the need of our group given some people prefer sushi but some couldn't eat raw food. They also offer a couple of limited appetizer dishes such as tempuras and unagi don. If you booked the sukiyaki table and want to order sushi, you need to call them in advance to notify which sushi sets you want. We tried the sashimi and sushi courses at $55, which included miso soup, 5 pieces of sashimi, 8 pieces of sushi (squid, toros, salmon, scallop etc.), handroll and matcha or black sesame icecream at your choice. The sushi is smaller than average, suitable for small eaters. The course is totally worth the money. I love every piece of sashimi and my favourite sushi include the scallop and the squid. Everything was super fresh. The dessert was also having the perfect sweetness level for me. In addition, we also tried the sukiyaki for two ($110), which includes mushrooms, cabbages, great quality of Angus beef, yummy tofu and udon. Again, all the material was with great quality and super fresh. I especially liked the sweet sukiyaki soup, the tofu and the udon. We also ordered some shareable dishes including chawanmushi, unagi don and cod. Cod was cooked to perfect (soft and flavourful), and unagi don had quite decent portion. It would be better if the unagi could be softer from my personal opinion. Chawanmushi was mediocre. Overall, I strongly recommend this restaurant to fan of Japanese cuisine. The eight pieces of nigiri featured a somewhat typical selection of fish (and hotate/scallop), but slightly edgy and unique in the choice of seasoning and flavours, prepared by Chef Takinami with all the pomp and ceremony and you would expect from fine omakase. The pacing was excellent, we never felt rushed from piece to piece; the wait staff were attentive as would be expected from a high-end Japanese restaurant, on par with omakases that cost three times as much. Overall, incredible value on the meal, for both the food and experience. We couldn't help but look around at what the regulars were enjoying (in addition to their omakase nigiri) -- botan ebi nigiri with deep fried shrimp heads, chawanmushi, cooked dishes featuring monk fish livers, tempura appetizers and more... some great ideas for our next visit!
