Excellent food and super friendly staff! Shout out to Brianna for making me feel welcome and helping me choose what to order! The restaurant is near my dentist's office and I always wanted to try the sushi every time I passed by the enticing menu choices posted at the window. The place is nice and cozy, had a few small tables clustered near the sushi counter. I ordered a Super Hiro Roll per Brianna's recommendation and it was delish! Would definitely go back for more next time we visit Tucson!

Years ago I had eaten here and had fond memories. Sadly the food has slipped. The beef was sinewy. The flavor was fine. The service is efficient but not particularly friendly. The ambiance needs some updating.

This restaurant is one of my wife's favorites, though it's never quite clicked for me. When we're in the area, we usually stop in, but most of the menu relies heavily on spicy mayo and eel sauce, which just isn't my preference. The one thing I do enjoy is the plain brown rice. That said, the service is always great, there's seating available both indoors and outdoors, and parking is easy and plentiful. If you enjoy sauce-heavy dishes, this may be right up your alley.

There's not many places in Tucson where you can find good Japanese food. We finally gave Ikkyu a try and were impressed! Food- we got the spicy tuna don volcano style. The portion was great for the price! And overall the flavor profile was excellent. Service- fast professional and helpful. No complaints Ambience- there are tables to eat and they appeared comfortable but we were in a hurry a did takeout. I think this place does lots of takeout orders too. Overall great food at the right price! I recommend highly

LOVING THIS PLACE FOR YEARS. Hiro and his staff are all the BEST of the BEST! If you haven't been you haven't lived. Come check it out you won't be disappointed

Classic restaurant that has been a long time favorite for our family. They have a simple menu but everything is good. The Tepan chicken is tender and the ginger sauce is flavorful. The yakisoba pork is always made to perfection. I have been getting the spicy tuna roll as an appetizer for years and it is simply the best. They only have 4 ramens but each one is made to perfection. The building is small so take out is a good option if you have a large party but I like eating my ramen there in person. Reminder that the menu is outside to speed up ordering at the counter.

We had a great meal here. The food is top notch and the ramen is best I've had since Japan. It's a busy place doing a lot of take out but the tables were good sized and clean. Menus only on the outside window which is odd. Staff is friendly and polite. I had ramen and my wife had teriyaki pork bowl. We both finished our meals and that's rare. The only reason this place didn't get 5 stars is I wanted a marinated egg in my ramen and they didn't have it or even as an option. But I'll be back for sure!! Highly recommend.

Very traditional serving countertop cashiering and self served on the table! Tonkatsu ramen was so freshly and delicious!!! Soup base was cooking hot and delivered right on with Al Dente ramen!!! Pork ChaSu and marinated egg were cooking right on and tasty!!! Pricing was fair n inexpensive for self serving!! Surprisingly their sushi rolls were so freshly n I ordered just a regular California Rolls that the avocado were so tasty n freshly made!!!

What an amazing, authentic ramen place! Located in a strip mall, this small restaurant sells ramen and other main dishes. I had the tonkotsu ramen and the flavor was AMAZING! I ate every last drop. Food came out quick too and servers were friendly. If you want some flavorful ramen on the north side, I highly recommend.

    Yakasoba noodles withe beef

It's a little "go to the counter to order" place. I had the Yakasoba noodles with beef. There was so much flavor in the dish. With plenty for 2 meals. It was very enjoyable.

Ok wasn't sure what to expect. Friends went & said it was awesome! You go in & order- oh make sure you look up menu or look at it on window before you come in. I had Miso Ramen and hubby had chicken curry. Yummily! Put order in and not too long after our timer went off meaning food is ready! You go to counter & pick it up. Pick up there is busy so my assumption was that's what happens most here & that's what we're doing next time. Prices were reasonable & there isn't a bar or alcohol. Wasn't a problem for us. Definitely will do take out- coolio we have a new place to take kids when they visit.

Spicy tuna don .. my goto at this spot
    Lourdes V.

I used to come here all the time when I lived in the Tucson area because I was hooked on the Spicy Tuna Don (the original, like deconstructed sushi roll). I've never had anything else at this spot but this bowl .. the bowl starts with sushi rice, a generous scoop of spicy tuna, garnished with cucumber, green onion & seaweed. It's served with a hot cup of Miso soup. I did try the volcano version once and was not a fan. They do have ramen, bowls, bento boxes, sushi, etc. The menu is taped to the front windows, since COVID, and I guess that's a permanent thing now. They do have QR codes on tables but no menu at the front register. Located next to LeeLee Market, they share the same parking lot. Plenty of indoor and outdoor covered seating. Lots of take out business, this place gets busy at lunch time.

    Yakisoba Noodle and Volcano Donburi
    Alex J.

I've been here a few times now and the food and prices are good. I got a chicken yakisoba and liked it. My friend got a volcano donburi, her first time here, and she also enjoyed her meal! Although, I went this past week and the menus are all outside and it says there's none inside. I wouldn't mind this if it wasn't 100 degrees outside. If you come knowing what you want, great experience. If you want to take time to look at the menu or try something new, don't come in the summer, as you'll be standing in the hot sun.

I believe there is also a miso based broth!

Is any of their ramen vegan?

No. Even if you ordered the shoyu Ramen without the chashu, the broth is still animal based.

Here's the thing, I came in expecting the usual Chinese food affair, but I left genuinely surprised and impressed. This restaurants specializes in Southern Chinese food, which is different from other regions. I am so happy this restaurant and its chains helps the cuisine gain exposure and adds depth to Chinese food in general. I didn't see the restaurant itself yet, but after this experience, visiting is officially on the to-do. We started with the takoyaki balls, which were an absolute standout. I'm not an expert on how they're made, but I did notice pieces of octopus inside, and wow so good. The sauce on top is an explosion of flavor: rich, savory, slightly sweet, and totally addictive.
