Philly Roll Sushi

They had the best Edamame I've ever had, the Philly Roll was amazing and the miso soup was great. Fast service too, food came out in like 10min max.

Came to Ikiiki on Wednesday night and the place was pretty packed! Most tables full, but only 2 people working so we did wait a while to be greeted/order taken (not a huge deal). I would definitely come back to try other menu items! We got two rolls and an entree to split. The sea turtle cucumber roll was fresh, and absolutely delicious. This one exceeded my expectations (they were low when I saw it was just wrapped in cucumber lol). The ocean city tempura roll was also tasty, pretty standard tempura style roll. The Singapore chow foon was amazing and the shrimp was perfect! This place would 100% be the perfect spot for take out, date night, or even a solo dinner!

My new favorite regular sushi spot Ikiiki Sushi has quickly become one of our new favorite places for sushi. The prices are reasonable, the food is great, the atmosphere is small and welcoming. It's right off Queen Anne Ave on the top of the hill in a quieter are. We LOVE the Sea Turtle roll - it's so unique with no rice, and cucumber on the outside. Great low carb option, and something different I've never seen anywhere else!! The Cherry Blossom roll is also amazing. The presentation is super pretty and actually looks like a flower! We also got the Samurai, Spider, and Crunchy Spicy Salmon roll which were all good. I love that they have a huge variety on the menu - lots of noodle options, soups, fried rice, vermicelli noodles, pho, pad Thai, udon, meat main dishes etc... So it's not just sushi, they have a huge menu!! Definitely need to go back and try the other stuff!

Spicy Tuna Ten Sushi

On our travels we hit up the nearest sushi spot to our Air BnB after getting off a late flight. I ordered some sake && waited for the miso soup that NEVER CAME - you guys can understand how deviating that is to me! BUT I got over that. I ordered the Salt & Pepper Prawns (crispy) - she asked how spicy, obvi I ordered the spiciest - but it was just a hint of spice due to the jalapeños that were fried with the white & green onions. And the shrimp were NOTHING special. I also ordered the Spicy tuna ten roll because I just trigger ordered when I should of just got sashimi... but oh well it was okay. I don't usually order fried sushi, must of missed that in the description. The husband ordered a spicy tuna roll which was a little better but NO flavor. He also ordered the House "Special" Fried Rice which there was nothing special about it. He had to pour soy sauce all over it to even make it taste like much.. overall wasn't the worst... but I've had better.

Casual little spot for a quick fix of Japanese. Typical selection of Sashimi & Rolls available along with Udon & Sukiyaki. Basic drinks of soda, tea, and Hot or Cold Sake. Server was friendly, helpful, and attentive. Local family business. #shopsmall #shoplocal

Fantastic sushi and service. I dined in here. So thankful I did. It's very tasty and delightful. I'm so glad I got it. It's been consistent too. I've gone three times and each time it's been good. The fish is always very clean tasting.

Classic fried rice (with chicken) SO GOOOD ITS SCRUMPTIOUS

Food is spectacular, however when i tried to pay they gave me another persons order and credit card, if I wanted to i could have tooken someones credit card.

Meh. Was it great, no. Was it bad, eh, no. Would I go here again, no. Here I have one California roll, one shrimp tempura roll, and one ikiiki roll. The California roll is standard and was bland. The tempura roll is one of my favorites to get and here it was bland, crunch-less, and unappealing. As for the ikiiki roll, I did not care for it. Smoke salmon had to strong of a flavor that over powered the entire roll. The mango was not sweet either This has to be my least favorite sushi restaurant that I've tried in Seattle. Honestly, skip it. I pray I don't get sick. If I do I will be sure to update this post, but I think I'm safe. Happy eating my friends.

If there's any question in your mind about possibly coming here, bite the bullet and do it. I'm not…read morenecessarily a fan of soba since I haven't been exposed to authentic ways of eating it, so I was a little hesitant coming here but also knew I could count of going for tempura. We (group of 4) walked in on a Friday night without reservations and were able to join the waitlist with a 45 minute wait. It was an easy wait since they have a bar two doors down. We were seated maybe even 15 minutes earlier than their estimated time. We got sat at a counter in the back and had a great time. The tempura here was pretty good and tasted very fresh. I also had the waiter choose between the duck soba or the cream of morel and he absolutely blew my mind and reservations about soba out of the water with his choice. He surprised me with the cream of morel and it was so darn good and was scarfed down as quickly as it had come.

Kamonegi specializes in two things - soba first, and then tempura…read more It's a pretty small place with a large number of advocates - I had to make my reservation a few weeks in advance due to the limited number of eating / overall space in this restaurant. The first thing we had was the foie gras 'tofu' - which is only shaped like a tofu, but made up of foie gras mousse, in a dashi. This was pretty awesome. I've had foie gras at restaurants before, but never has it been this cheap - so I was unsure what to expect. And what I got was a flavor that basically matched what you would get if you paid five times the price for this. The intensity is just as strong; as is the richness, saltiness, and mouthfeel. The dashi adds that extra competing flavor. Obviously, it's easy to make foie gras taste good, but the fact that it's offered as an appetizer and such a cheap price point makes this possibly the best starter you can get anywhere in the city. The next thing was the black tiger jumbo shrimp tempura. This was alright. It was high-quality tempura, lacking oil and having the shrimp inside steamed very well, but the batter was pretty inconsistent and salt levels were missing. Also the sauce didn't really taste like anything. Next was the main dish - the soba. I opted for the namesake Kamonegi Seiro, which comes with the soba, plus a hot broth with duck breast and a duck meatballs on the side. This was pretty good. The soba noodles themselves is not the same quality as what I've had in Japan, but they're not bad. I do get a slightly nutty flavor. The broth was much better. It was salty to the absolute maximum - providing a punch of flavor that complemented the noodles very well. Both the duck breast and duck meatball were super juicy and flavorful. Rather than dipping the noodles in the broth, I found it (possibly sacrilegiously) easier to put some noodles in the broth and eat it like ramen. Unlike a thick ramen broth, this was very clear and light, being primarily dashi/shoyu based. For dessert, I had something I did not expect to see on the menu - Oreo tempura. It's practically impossible to make this not taste good. The frying steams the inside of the oreo such that it melts but not fully, and the light batter on the outside gives a crunch that works. Also, it just feels a lot better to eat than the deep-fried oreo you get at fairs and such. The price of most things is pretty expensive here. It ended up being roughly $65/person here, for our four total items. Overall, this is a very high-quality Japanese restaurant, provided you stick to the soba. 8.5/10

A new favorite sushi spot emerges!…read more Sushi Taiyo is a rare gem that treasures the art of sushi without breaking the bank. Really impressed with the sushi here. The rolls have a great rice-to-fish ratio, and the fish itself tastes very high quality. You can tell they're actually paying attention to the balance of each piece instead of just loading everything up with rice and sauce. The nigiri was probably the highlight. Each piece had its own sauce, seasoning, or garnish that was clearly chosen for that specific fish, which reminded me of what you'd get at an omakase. It makes the nigiri feel much more thoughtful than the standard fish-on-rice you get at a lot of sushi places. It's also cute inside, definitely a good ambiance for a casual date at night. The restaurant is small enough that it's always easy to get service when you need it and the staff are friendly! Overall, this is a great middle ground between an expensive omakase and cheap everyday sushi. You get genuinely good fish and some of the care and attention to detail of a higher-end sushi restaurant without having to spend a ridiculous amount. They clearly respect the art of sushi here, and I'd definitely come back.

Everything tasted fresh, and I was especially happy that the rolls weren't overloaded with rice. The negitoro roll was great I ordered a bunch of different nigiri, and every single one was great. The fish tasted fresh, the portions were good, really yummy. I'd totally come back here again. Another big plus was how easy it was to get seated - I didn't have to wait at all, which is always nice for a good sushi spot. The space is super big, lots of tables, staff was warm. Overall, really solid sushi, good portions, and a very easy, enjoyable experience. Again I've been very spoiled but I would totally make this my go to spot over anywhere in else nearby!

You order your food at the counter and tables are first come first serve. Although unlike other restaurants which make you order before grabbing a table, this place uses host-style traditional seatting. The employee directed us to a table, gave us menus, and told us to come back to the counter when we were ready. It's the best of the both worlds. The stress of finding a table after you've placed your order is removed entirely. To start we got the Glazed House Wings - half and half with the sweet spicy gochujang and the sesame soy. Both sauces were great, but personally I preferred the gochujang. The wings were perfectly crispy. For entrees, he got The Daily Plate, and I got the Katsu Curry with Chicken. Both plates were excellent - no complaints! The Katsu was hearty and filling, the Daily Plate was a unique experience of different flavors and textures. For dessert I got the Strawberry Panna Cotta. I love a panna cotta, and this was a good one. If I lived in Seattle I could totally see myself visiting here more often. Definitely recommend!

Everything was incredibly flavorful, though the prices do lean a little high for a casual spot. Because it is such a bustling restaurant, the space was a bit chaotic during my visit. The floors were slightly slick, and the restrooms and visible kitchen area could have used a quick mid-shift wipe-down to match the quality of the food. Even so, the stellar, soul-warming dishes make it well worth a visit.
