Ikiiki is a solid spot in Queen Anne to get some sushi. We have never had to wait for a table and the shop feels like it is family owned. The staff is super friendly, and while it is not a more upscale spot where you may go for a celebration dinner the restaurant is always clean and cozy. The sushi and nigiri sizes are generous! We always make the mistake of ordering too many rolls and then having to bring some home. We stopped by Ikiiki for sushi while hosting family from Colorado (they were on a seafood mission). The sushi itself was solid: fresh, well-prepared, and satisfying enough for a casual dinner. That said, the experience left a bit to be desired. The service was pretty underwhelming, the staff seemed indifferent at best, and at times, noticeably put off. We had our dog with us (a well-behaved sweet big boy!), and it definitely felt like his presence wasn't welcome, even though we were outside. The menu didn't have any clear allergen markings, which made ordering more stressful than it needed to be for someone in our group with dietary restrictions. Overall, decent sushi, but the service and lack of allergen awareness made it hard to fully enjoy the meal. Not sure we'd rush back :( maybe for takeout! read more

Ikiiki is our go to sushi and yakisoba fix on QA! We live around the corner and are never let down- Sea Turtle is my go to when I'm craving sashimi, but with an offering of crab salad and cucumber all in one :) Their tempura is amazing, and my partner says "they don't make yakisoba like this anywhere." Butter fish nigiri is wonderful too. Generous and high quality portions made my a team you can tell works efficiently, and is so kind. read more

Came to Ikiiki on Wednesday night and the place was pretty packed! Most tables full, but only 2 people working so we did wait a while to be greeted/order taken (not a huge deal). I would definitely come back to try other menu items! We got two rolls and an entree to split. The sea turtle cucumber roll was fresh, and absolutely delicious. This one exceeded my expectations (they were low when I saw it was just wrapped in cucumber lol). The ocean city tempura roll was also tasty, pretty standard tempura style roll. The Singapore chow foon was amazing and the shrimp was perfect! This place would 100% be the perfect spot for take out, date night, or even a solo dinner! read more

My new favorite regular sushi spot Ikiiki Sushi has quickly become one of our new favorite places for sushi. The prices are reasonable, the food is great, the atmosphere is small and welcoming. It's right off Queen Anne Ave on the top of the hill in a quieter are. We LOVE the Sea Turtle roll - it's so unique with no rice, and cucumber on the outside. Great low carb option, and something different I've never seen anywhere else!! The Cherry Blossom roll is also amazing. The presentation is super pretty and actually looks like a flower! We also got the Samurai, Spider, and Crunchy Spicy Salmon roll which were all good. I love that they have a huge variety on the menu - lots of noodle options, soups, fried rice, vermicelli noodles, pho, pad Thai, udon, meat main dishes etc... So it's not just sushi, they have a huge menu!! Definitely need to go back and try the other stuff! read more

On our travels we hit up the nearest sushi spot to our Air BnB after getting off a late flight. I ordered some sake && waited for the miso soup that NEVER CAME - you guys can understand how deviating that is to me! BUT I got over that. I ordered the Salt & Pepper Prawns (crispy) - she asked how spicy, obvi I ordered the spiciest - but it was just a hint of spice due to the jalapeños that were fried with the white & green onions. And the shrimp were NOTHING special. I also ordered the Spicy tuna ten roll because I just trigger ordered when I should of just got sashimi... but oh well it was okay. I don't usually order fried sushi, must of missed that in the description. The husband ordered a spicy tuna roll which was a little better but NO flavor. He also ordered the House "Special" Fried Rice which there was nothing special about it. He had to pour soy sauce all over it to even make it taste like much.. overall wasn't the worst... but I've had better. read more

I hadn't eaten here for years, maybe not since it was Chinoise. I guess I should have stuck with sushi. My egg rolls were just OK. Shrimp and veg tempura was heavy and greasy. Very thick pieces of onion. My husband ordered Cashew green beans with tofu, and he thought it lacking in flavor, while I thought it tasted very odd - not spoiled odd, just odd enough that I didn't want more than one bite. Meh. Was it great, no. Was it bad, eh, no. Would I go here again, no. Here I have one California roll, one shrimp tempura roll, and one ikiiki roll. The California roll is standard and was bland. The tempura roll is one of my favorites to get and here it was bland, crunch-less, and unappealing. As for the ikiiki roll, I did not care for it. Smoke salmon had to strong of a flavor that over powered the entire roll. The mango was not sweet either This has to be my least favorite sushi restaurant that I've tried in Seattle. Love coming wire for sushi! My boyfriend loves the Hama Hama roll. We have also gotten the rainbow roll, volcano roll and spicy salmon crunchy roll and they were all very good! Today I got the oyster sauce broccoli with beef and I liked it. Not my favorite thing I've gotten but the broccoli was fresh and the sauce its in is good. Yakisoba and Mongolian beef are other things we have gotten and and liked. The pad Thai is not very good in my opinion, much better Thai food in the area. read more

This place was recommended by one of my best friends. She looooooves her chicken katsu and she swears by this place! The restaurant is located in the Queen Anne area and a lot of the restaurants around are new cuisine and a few Asian spots. I didn't really think this place was good because of the location. I did check on Yelp and the food looked good. When we got there this afternoon it was right after our workout at F45, so we were hungry! Luckily they have a happy hour today from 12-3 which was awesome. Many selections to choose from and reasonable prices. We shared everything like family style. The items we ordered were the garlic chicken wings, honey walnut prawns, Philly roll, seared salms, chicken kats, tuna poke salad and cold sake. Let me say I'm sad that Chinoise Cafe is gone. They had great food and were completely dependable. But the good news is that Ikiiki is just as good if not better. Ikiiki has been open for about 3 days and yet everything runs incredibly smoothly. Apparently, if I understood correctly, one of the managers at Chinoise bought out the business and converted it to an Ikiiki - by the way, it means "Full of Life", not "Icky! Icky!" - though that would be a hilarious though counterproductive name. We started with some sushi - all from the Signature Maki Menu because, hey, this is for SCIENCE! - uh I mean "YELP!". We got the Hama Hama Roll (spicy negihama, cucumber, avocado, topped with sashimi yellowtail and super-thinly sliced jalapeno). And the Double Tuna (Isn't that "Too much Tuna?" NO!) - it has spicy tuna and is topped with albacore. And lastly, the Sunshine: 5-spice Salmon Tempura, cream cheese, soy paper topped with more salmon and peach sauce (really? apparently, yes), spicy sauce and fried onion. See attached photos. Then we had the Sukiyaki with beef and the Vegetable Delight with Chicken. "Vegetable Delight with Chicken" sounds like an oxymoron, but if you know me, you know what makes vegetables more 'delight'ful: yes, MEAT. About the Sukiyaki - delish with transparent yan noodles, veggies and mushrooms. They didn't skimp on the beef. PLUS - bonus - $2 less than the same dish at Chinoise Cafe! Served very quickly too - as a non-European I appreciate fast service. OK, there you have it: my sadness at the loss of Chinoise Cafe has been converted to joy and anticipation of further dining at Ikiiki. I should again reiterate that the prices were very reasonable and service completely perfect. We'll be back! read more

Holy Smokes! This is as good as it gets for Asian cuisine! My wife and I had a hankering for Chinese the other night and we happened upon Ikiiki . . . boy am I glad we did. We ordered take out and have to say it was some of the BEST food we've had in years. We started with an order of egg rolls. They were very different from any other egg rolls we've had, but super good. They were almost like cross between an egg roll and spring roll. The sauce that they are served with was really good too. It was a large serving, so we actually had left overs for the next day. My wife had the sweet and sour chicken (a good old standby) and I had the General Tao's chicken (one of my go-to's). Both were absolutely amazing! Cooked perfectly with high quality chicken, we were blown away with the taste and flavor. The entrees came with white rice, of course, and were equally large in serving size. We also ordered and shared an order of their classic fried rice, with mushrooms added. Also . . . totally delicious! The restaurant itself is quaint and small, looks to be family owned, and very comfy. While waiting to pick up our order I was able to see into their open kitchen design and saw that every dish was made to fresh to order. No worry of having sauces or meats sitting around in a big tub waiting to be dished. They also have a large sushi menu with fresh options too, if that's your thing. They were pretty slammed with orders on that Friday night and I had to wait a little bit, but I certainly am not complaining . . . it is totally worth the wait for a freshly cooked and prepared meal! This will definitely be our "go-to" Asian restaurant from here on out! read more
