What a dump. The store is a complete mess. Instead of cleaning up liquid spills they put signs over them. The food service area was disgusting. The soda fountain section was leaking or overflowing or something and there was liquid all over the floor. Signs everywhere. Racks and racks filled with dirty trays smelling. And there is nothing value-worthy about this place. For $4.75 or so I got two 8 oz glasses for some soda. As for the furniture, what they've got is disorganized and there are hardly any employees. read more

I've always seen this location from the freeway going to SF but never have actually been here. I had to come from the Sacramento location because it said they had a bed frame in stock that my local IKEA did not have. They have a pretty large parking structure and lot. This IKEA felt larger than my local West Sac location. There were tons of people when I went. The inside is your average IKEA that is a showroom-maze style that has various furniture that they sell. The food court is decently sized but very busy. We stood next to some horribly smelly people which made that line an awful experience, the food was good though. It tastes like how you would expect an IKEA food court meal to taste. I love how juicy the meatballs are and how their flavor collides so well with the jam. The prices are affordable(ish) and you should be able to walk out under $15 a person making this a ($$) for me. My main dislike was that the West Sac location told us that a specific bed frame wasn't available at that location but that had it here at the Emeryville location so we drove an hour+ here only to find out they did not carry it. It was a big let down since we drove kinda far to get here and even online they said it was in stock. We settled for a different bed frame and had to wait in the pickup line. The attendant was very rude. Ive never had to go to the pickup line at an IKEA before and when I asked how to pickup my order, the attendant said "well you can read can't you" and pointed to the monitor that shows your place in the queue. It was my first time having to go through that pickup experience and found the attendant to be passive aggressive and unhelpful. While others were on their phone and or did not care to answer multiple questions, Salar was patient, kind, knowledgeable, and overall professional. Moving and trying to find furniture is tough on its own, but he really made my experience here at IKEA go smoothly. Also, honorable mention to Ambrose. They helped me on my way out of the store with recommendations on how to transport the malm bed frame. I'm really big on customer service and greatly appreciate each of their assistance. read more

This place is incredible. It's never a bad time at IKEA! Unless of course you're stressed about moving and are actually trying to find furniture (see 1 star reviews). I quickly stumbled upon my white plastic trash bin and even some mala colored pencils. At the food court, I tried the "Meatball Sundae." Originally I thought it'd be their famous meatballs in some soft serve (gross), but my friend told me it was on mashed potatoes and gravy instead. Sensory hell. I find the layout of this store counterintuitive and incredibly overwhelming. Locating the proper exit with SO many glaring neon exit signs and arrows before the actual checkout/area where you can exit was odd. The customer service isn't great in my experience, but I'm sure the employees have to deal with a lot of people as they seem to be constantly busy, and it looks like it could be a super stressful place to work. So, I adjust my expectations when I shop here and come in with the expectation that no one will acknowledge or help me- even during checkout. The furniture is budget-friendly, and that's why I've shopped here in the past. Today's experience was overwhelming, as per usual, but that's what I get for coming on a Saturday. There were a few products that were listed as in stock on their site, but they weren't when we got to the warehouse, which was disappointing. While my fiancé and I were looking for a box in the warehouse, an employee came over and loudly slammed boxes from the shelf onto the floor right next to where I was kneeling in an attempt to help some customers. He could have just asked me to move rather than slam boxes so close to my body, which seemed dangerous on top of being rude. After today, my days of shopping in person at IKEA may be coming to an end. If I see something I want, I will likely order it online and have it shipped--that's just my preference. If you don't feel anxious in big crowds or have sensory issues, this would probably be a fine location to shop. read more

Always love Ikea. They have pretty much everything you would need in a home. I love walking around to check out their furniture. Their design and decorations always inspire me and give me ideas to decorate my own place. One thing I hate about this location though is that the layout is very confusing! Came here not so much as to buy furniture, but to enjoy a reasonable meal & complimentary coffee as a Family Card Member. Having arrived upstairs to the cafeteria around 5:45pm, it was a quiet Monday evening, so there wasn't any waiting needed. Orders: Garlic Lemon Cod- I wanted to choose the healthier meal. While it says it has garlic & lemon in the cod, I didn't detect any of those ingredients. It tasted low in sodium so I had used whatever leftover gravy I had to compliment this dish. I love how they include vegetables & I was pleasantly surprised that the broccoli bits weren't over cooked, but were fresh & firm. Chicken tenders- can't go wrong with crispy chicken tenders, it's my daughter's favorite at IKEA. Again, I love how they give a healthy scoop of broccoli bits cooked perfectly. I would normally get their desserts, but they really seem to have really cut back & there may have been 1 chocolate dessert. As we headed downstairs we wanted their soft serve ice cream, but unfortunately their machine wasn't working. Instead, we got the smallest serving of pineapple mango smoothie I've ever seen or purchased for I think $6,(there was no size indicated on the ordering kiosk) so this was a huge disappointment. A sadly updated review of the IKEA restaurant :( It's been a while since I've eaten at the restaurant. Last time was before the pandemic. Their dishes shrank in portion and sadly no longer taste as good. The also got rid of the drink fountain and only offer bottled water or soda for purchase... It's a nice location with a restaurant with a view of the bay. To get to this location we have to go to soooo many stoplights from the highway. Next to it there's a mall and some new buildings and companies. Parking size is decent but be ready to walk 100 m or so. They have a covered parking. I popped in to see if they had any Martini glasses in stock. I was surprised to find tons of cute glassware, but just not martinis. Of course I wondered around and picked up and put down tons of things I didn't need. The store was very clean and well stocked. In case you haven't done so, sign up for their Ikea Family Membership. It provides several discounts, plus a birthday gift. Despite finding a few great items I was discouraged by the long lines and the lack of cashier's. Dear IKEA: Go back to Sweden. Stop polluting the US retail industry. IKEA stands for INCOMPETENCE. Crass, unapologetic, incompetence, masking fraud. I purchased a mattress from IKEA on August 19, 2025. I had tried it earlier in their Emeryville, California store, and purchased it online, charging the several hundred dollars to a credit card, to avoid a 40-mile return trip to the store. Little did I know that this was the first action that put me at risk. They promised home delivery on August 26, 2025. I indicated in writing on my original online order that I wanted a pick-up of the old mattress without additional charge, as mandated by California law. That day came and went with no phone calls, no messages, no delivery, nothing. I called IKEA's laughable "customer service" (which sounded like some teenager in India working from home, with a baby crying in the background). I was told the order had been cancelled. What?! I was never notified of any such mistake. So, they said (since the item was already paid for) they created a new order, with a new order number, and promised delivery on September 3, 2025. A couple of days later, I received a message that they wanted to pick up my old mattress the next day. I called the number given and told them I would not give them the old mattress until the new mattress was delivered. They came anyway. Wouldn't you think these actions would happen at the same time? What is one supposed to do in the meantime--sleep on the floor? As far as I know, California law requires mattress retailers to offer free pick-up of old mattresses at the time of delivering a new one. BE WARNED: This does not happen with IKEA. I am very glad I did not give them the old mattress, because a couple of weeks later, on September 3--the new promised delivery date--again no phone calls, again no messages, again no delivery, again nothing. I called Customer Service again, this time someone in Canada answered. At least I did not have to strain to understand their English. At this point I was beginning to suspect IKEA of systemic incompetence, so I did some looking around for reviews from other customers. Negative, negative, negative. What some of their customers have experienced with this company is shocking. I wanted nothing more to do with them. I told the Canadian "representative" to cancel the order and refund my money. I also entered a dispute with my credit card bank for the entire amount I paid, indicating that the item or service was never provided. Well, I did receive an email from IKEA dated September 3, 2025, stating that the order was cancelled and I would receive a refund within 7 business days. As of this writing, almost 2 months later, I have still not received a refund. I went back to their Emeryville, California store (20 miles from my home) and asked a store manager why I had not received my refund. Lo and behold, I was shocked to be told that, since I bought the mattress in their "online store," the store could not help me with anything. NOTE that there is no "online store." This is a fiction. But they use this to avoid responsibility. When I got home, I called their Customer Service again, and again I was shocked to be told that they could not help me with anything, since I had disputed the purchase amount with my bank, and that is a "different department." I asked to be connected to that department, and was told they cannot be reached by phone. There you have it: Cop-outs on all sides. Evasion of responsibility on all fronts. Delaying proper refunds. Fraudulently holding funds for inordinate amounts of time. My bank tells me they have contacted "the merchant" and they have until November 3, 2025 to respond. If they do not respond, the money (already paid) will be credited back to me. If IKEA refuses a total refund, every penny, this affair may very well end up in court. I suppose IKEA is still good for a cheap ice cream cone, but BEWARE of giving them your hard-earned money for anything else. read more

Worst experience. I purchased cabinets here for my office. As it's said, "you get what you pay for." Get home and as it's being built our construction workers show me that the drawer is missing. Great, I have to go back to ikea to get a drawer. The whole process to get the drawer took over an hour. I do have to say Eleshia in returns was fabulous. The manager Roshanda on the other hand was aloof and sarcastic, saying to me "ikea doesn't make a practice of giving things for free." She never said Sorry for your inconvenience. Why did I return to buy a wardrobe closet for my MIL who's suffering from dementia? I had to pay for Lugg delivery because delivery from Ikea would take a week. My MIL needs organization everyday, or things are worse for her. We open the box and everything is damaged. $550 wasted. I'm on the phone with Customer Service for over an hour and I'm told they'll call me back in about 4 hours before they can resolve this issue. Marlene with customer service was very helpful and thorough. I hope whoever gets the baton can be as helpful as Marlene was. It is not worth getting cheaper prices here. read more

How covid has messed things up. The food court offerings are definitely not up to snuff. Gone are the wonderful pork shank that was on the old menu, boy that was a great snack. They new offering is a tiny chicken thigh with mixed vegetables and something they call rice. The chicken thigh was not very flavorful, all most bland in my opinion on top of being a tiny thigh. The stuff they are using for faux rice is that abominable converted rice, as I have said before this should not be used for anything, it lacks character, has a horrible smell and has teally no taste. Personally the boiled/steamed vegetables were the best thing and they weren't that great. That's really too bad ikea's standards have dropped so much! I hope that they can recover because I've had great experiences with their food in th past. read more

BAD FOOD and TERRIBLE SERVICE at IKEA On Sunday June 4, 2023, I took my wife for dinner to IKEA in Emeryville, California on or around 6:30 PM with the idea that after dinner we will shop around the store. When we were at the line of the restaurant to order, I could see there were salads at $1.99 at the isle on the other side, my wife order Meatballs, I ordered Cod fillet, after we picked up the plates, we had the first upset, there were not one of the $1.99 salads, there was no bread either, then we went to pay at the end where the cashier was, I paid with my credit card and wanted to tell him there was no salad nor bread, but as soon as he charged for the meals, he step out. Next, when we went to the soda fountain, another bad surprise, since there was no ice at all, by then I was really hungry and upset, I then started eating the Cod fillet, to my bad luck the Cod fillet was over cooked and tasted bad, I then stopped eating and took it to the dirty dish racks. I then talked to one of the kitchen supervisors, who in turn called who was supposed to be the manager, I told him my name and asked his, he told me his name was Mike, I briefly told him what happened, he then told me in a bad manner, he can only refund me for the sodas nothing more, then turned his back and went back inside the kitchen. Idk if it's just me but the layout of this store stresses me out. It's a maze, the layout design is horrible, and makes no sense. It was also hot inside which didn't help. We came to look at cabinets but needed an appointment to design something with a worker bc the cabinet in the show room that we liked, was a custom piece. So we couldn't just pick it up in the warehouse section. Someone had told me they sold ice cream here so we went to the food court. I didn't see it anywhere on their menu so I asked a worker where we can get ice cream and she was incredibly rude. We had to go back downstairs to the fast food-ish area and ordered on the kiosk machines. We chose the strawberry & vanilla swirl. The TV screen said our order was ready so I went up and told the lady. She goes it's not ready. I could see that bc she had an empty cone in her hand. Apparently I'd interrupted her gossip session with her coworker bc she looked at me, then turned back to her coworker friend and kept talking all while still holding the empty cone. Once her friend left, then she began filling our order. Finally I got our 3 cones and headed back upstairs to the main dining area bc they had a lovely view of the bay. But getting back up there was also confusing and it shouldn't be!! We went in a loop and somehow ended up back in the showroom. Ugh. Terrible terrible layout. We bought a couple faux plants and pots, and those infamous blue Ikea bags. We also bought some frozen meatballs and gravy and mashed potatoes. read more

This review is for the Ikea food court. (I think the furniture side is more than well documented!) What I appreciate about IKEA's quick take out food is the simple esa and the many veg or even vegan options. You won't find that at Costco or Walmart for sure! This time around we got the berry ice in a cup (perfect quencher for a hot day!), a small side of faux veg meatballs, and the vegan hot dog. Easy order on the big touchscreens and then you wait for your number to pop up and go pick up at the appropriate counter. It's super cheap but good enough to grab on the go quickly. Great choice when you're hungry for a quick snack after furniture shopping! read more

**REVIEW FOR FOOD ONLY** I never ate at Ikea and always hear that the meatballs are hella good. So before shopping my friends and I got in line for some food. I didn't even know Ikea had a whole food court section kind of thing. Their food tray carts are innovative and helpful if you have multiple trays of food in one transaction. It's cafeteria style so you grab a tray and you can grab dessert, salad, then order your entree. I got the kids meatball dish (it was my first time having the meatballs), side of garlic bread b/c I can't resist bread, and a side of mac b/c I mean, cheese. haha. Everything was decent. Above average cafeteria food and the meatballs with extra gravy is pretty delicious. I can do without the cranberry sauce though. Not bad and the overall price tag was $12, so super affordable. Apparently it's a popular college budget food choice. Honestly, nothing beats my Costco hotdog for $1.50 haha! I'm not mad at it though. Drove over 45 minutes away and paid toll to try and obtain a replacement item/exchange. Was told by the employee in the customer service area that items damaged during assembly are not able to be exchanged despite the website stating otherwise.. not only that but I was blamed for the item breaking. I called customer service and they even stated that is wrong and you are able to make such exchanges. I've never had this problem or received such poor customer service at ikea. Don't bother going to this location or using your hard earned money to make purchases here. I don't think I'm ever going to be giving IKEA my business ever again. Make my experience a lesson for you. If you buy anything here and it fails during assembly or transport dont bother coming back unless you want to waste your money/time. Just take your business elsewhere. read more

Review for Click N Collect. Finally, the shelves we wanted were back in stock! Ordering was mostly painless on the IKEA website. Only 2 time slots were available for pickup, both on the same day. If you don't pick it up within a day, they'll put it back and issue a refund. There were no options to pick it up at a later date. Also, I don't recall seeing a place to designate another person for pickup, so it's probably wise to have that person place the order. The parking lot had sections roped off and it wasn't that obvious where to go. The pickup is basically where the loading area is (front of the store), but you have to wind all the way around the back to reach it. Park in a numbered spot and use the IKEA website to notify them you're here. The button is a bit wonky, so I had to reload the page twice to get it to finally work. There is an option to request loading assistance. After about 5-10 minutes, the door opened and an employee wheeled out the box. I showed him my ID, he said okay, and quickly left. Uh, what about the loading help?! Fortunately, both DH and I went to pick it up, so we wrangled the box into the car just fine. The signs were a little confusing getting out too. I highly recommend going on a weekday, since it was pretty busy. Can't imagine how a weekend would be! read more

Not as busy or crowded on the weekends. Ikea is Disneyland for my partner with free entrance. Lots of great deals and inspirations for home remodeling or rearranging. Some furniture isn't ideally made to last, whereas certain brands are. We learn eventually what works for our bucks. I like the large selection of fake flowers and plants. Having a destructive tag team cat and dog in the house, fake plants are the way to go. Ikea isn't for everyone and it falls down to preference. If not stop by and grab some Ikea's iconic Swedish meatballs. It's pretty good. read more

Wow. IKEA. I think the employees are managed via snail mail from Sweden. Not one of them would make eye contact with me! Their attitude was so thick it was like living in a real life zombie simulation. Could they possibly have had this attitude in the interview? And if they didn't, how did they dial it to below zero on a daily basis, I mean who set the tone here? A quick search of the word employee will show you I'm not the only one with this experience. This is just a knick knack store where you buy things you probably will regret before you pass through the exit. I did. But based on the employees alone, if this is the only place you can buy furniture, I would recommend not buying furniture. REVIEW OF THE FOOD ONLY: So I'm sure by now everyone's heard of the hype over Swedish meatballs and being in the area we decided to check it out. $1 for the meatball sides, and $1.99 for the mac and cheese. Not bad at all for a quick snack! Interesting choices were made when adding the lingonberry jam and the mushroom gravy over the meatballs, it was a fun combo and not necessarily something I would've put together but tasty nonetheless. I still don't fully understand why people rave about them, I didn't dislike the meal but it wasn't anything grand. The employees working in the kitchen were welcoming and friendly. The seating and table were organized and clean. I gave my rating a 4 because I would say the food was average; it's not bad nor the best of the best. It's good enough to fill you up.
