I will admit I have eaten at this location a handful of times, however after the last time; I will no longer be coming back. When walking into the building/restaurant, your nostrils are immediately hit with an unpleasant smell. It either smells like a gas leak or rotten eggs. Upon eating and dining in the restaurant for an evening diner, I was sitting with my friend at a window booth and along the side were mouse droppings. MOUSE droppings. I was utterly disgusted. Had a great experience at this IHOP. I normally wouldn't review a chain restaurant because I assume if you've tasted the food at one, you have a pretty good idea of what to expect at others. However, this location stands out because of the hardworking staff who seem to actually enjoy their jobs and serving the community. The owner, Will, was super friendly and I admired the way he managed his staff. The positive energy in the restaurant definitely trickles down from the top. This definitely isn't an Italian restaurant, but when you're here it's hard to not feel like family. read more

On New Year's Day, I ordered online and despite a long wait time that should be attributed to the online ordering system, Dalio, an employee at the store, showed great leadership and professionalism as he dealt with the stressful situation. He was kind to each person who came in waiting for an order and even those who yelled and demanded answers or a refund. He truly is a valuable employee. As for the rest of the employees, despite being overwhelmed with the large number of orders and people waiting, it was clear everyone was doing their best to handle the rush and it showed. In regards to the online ordering system, something needs to be don't to account for large orders and longer wait times on holidays. It was absurd that people had to wait hours at the restaurant. Everyone is understanding that the large number of orders is beyond the control of the employees in restaurant, but not about the false wait times. I have breakfast at IHOP no matter the time of day. There's never a wait when I visit this location, service is swift & friendly and the food is decent. The servers are attentive. Today's server Antoinette was no different, awesome! During today's visit, there was a lousy sewer smell near the restrooms. I wasn't seated near the restroom and the further you were away you didn't smell the restrooms, but when that odor greets you the entrance , (the restrooms are at the front) there's a problem. I didn't have an appetite after that, but my husbands stomach isn't turned by much or the smell wasn't that apparent to him. I nibbled once our meal arrived then boxed most of it for breakfast tomorrow. I went to restroom to see its cleanliness and it was clean. However, there were tiny gnats all around the sink. This is not typical of this location which is one of the best in the area; so whatever issue they are experiencing really needs to addressed. read more

I can't remember when I was last in an IHOP. We had fruit, coffee & orange juice and talked about Faro, Portugal. Magellan, De Gama & Prince Henry...the Age of Discovery led by fearless explorers. I love getting my IHOP to go! To be honest, their restaurant is a little crowded and leaves little elbow room! But thankfully they allow take out! Their take out boxes are super neat! I ordered the stuffed french toast combo! They put the eggs, sausage and hash-browns on the bottom and have a separate container for the french toast! I love this whole set up! They connect together and are compact for travel! My favorites are french toast, crepes, and the breakfast crepes! I called in my order to the Wheaton, MD location the staff was courteous and helpful he read my order back to me. My order was ready in 15mins as stated. When i got there I was greeted with a smile and my order was ready and hot. The food order was correct the omelet was big and delicious. It was enough for two meals. It was a terrible service, we got table right way when arrived but the waitress showed up after 20 minutes and took our order then waited 20 minutes more ,still we did not have a glass of iced water . Worst service I've ever experienced. I will be contacting IHOP corporate as well but I'll paint a picture for my fellow Yelpers so that they may go to another IHOP (or a diner or anywhere else...) I ordered on Grubhub, waited for thirty mins, drove to the IHOP (that was extra crowded) and saw a pickup bag ready to roll. I approach the counter and say I'm here to pick up an order.....it wasn't mine. None of them were mine. The order was submitted into Grubhub and they received it but never entered it. The woman then served more people (to "get them out of the way") before taking my order. I waited an extra forty minutes as they kept forgetting to check on my order, I was basically acting as my own waitress at this point. When I finally got my order, I took it home and found this food was the WORST I've had from an IHOP! Do not try ordering delivery from this IHOP if you want to have the correct food delivered. We love IHOP, but this location has delivered incomplete orders with missing food to us multiple times. Every time we decide to give them a second chance, we're disappointed. We originally were ordering through IHOP's website, but their contracted delivery service, DoorDash, gave poor delivery service (consistently couldn't find our location, did not read the directions we gave to help find our place, did not contact us if they needed assistance finding us, and food would arrive cold, and orders were occasionally wrong). We switched to UberEats, hoping for better service (while paying the higher prices), and out of the past 5 orders, 3 have still been wrong. Once, we got the wrong omelet, the second time, they forgot the omelet entirely, and our most recent service this morning, we ordered an omelet with 3 pancakes, and a Belgian waffle with eggs and sausage, and they sent an omelet with two pancakes, and a container of eggs and sausage (so clearly, they did a 2x2x2 combo of two pancakes, eggs and sausage, then just added in an omelet). Every time we get an incorrect order, we call the restaurant to speak with the manager, and since it's often busy, they say they will return our call at 2 pm, at a quieter time. They also say we can come pick up the forgotten item, but the reason we ordered *delivery* and paid extra for the service is that we weren't able to go get the food in the first place. We have NEVER received a call back and the times we do call back, we get an apology, but no monetary compensation. We have contacted UberEats when items are missing, but do not get full compensation for the missing food either. We are tired of paying money for food we don't receive. Sometimes, we have tried ordering online and picking up the order ourselves, but the service is no better when doing this. The last time I picked up the order, it is clear that the issue lies with the franchise and the expediting of the orders. I know the restaurant is probably overwhelmed with the return to in-person customers while still trying to manage delivery and in-person pickup, but they need better organization and methods to manage the orders. When you pick up an order, you wait in the same location as people waiting to be seated. The last time I arrived, I was not even acknowledged for over five minutes, as I patiently waited for a restaurant worker to be available to speak with me so I could tell them I had arrived to pick up my order. The restaurant has no visible way of organizing the online or pickup orders, and it's just a throng of people waiting to be seated in the restaurant, people waiting to pick up their own orders, and delivery services waiting for their orders. The workers actually seemed to ignore the customers waiting to pick up orders and the delivery workers. It is also clear the restaurant is not double-checking their delivery orders for completeness before letting them leave the store. When I picked up my order in person, I verified I had everything before I left, but the people who work for the delivery services do not do that... it is up to the restaurant to make sure they are sending the correct items to the correct people. There is one manager that is competent at IHOP, and I know he cares about his job and tries to do the best under busy times. However, the overall lack of organization, cooperation and attention to detail makes me unwilling to go back to this location. I very rarely give poor ratings to restaurants, and I understand that right now is a difficult time for those in the service industry. Very disappointed in our experience. We went on a saturday around noon and they were packed. Finding parking is very difficult as youll likely need to find street parking. Our wait wasnt too long to be seated but once we were...the real waiting began. I live about half a mile away from this IHOP- I have for years. And, sometimes, when I've found myself hungry on the way back from somewhere far too far away, I, admittedly, have ended up in there. And, honestly, between, say, that stale pizza in the fridge that has quite possibly been in there for a little too long, and eating at this IHOP, I would go for the stale pizza nine times out of ten. Situated on the corner of a, at best, mildly unpleasant 'business area', (at worst, the place that makes you always adhere to the 'buddies system' (no, the plural wasn't a typo)), IHOP combines the questionable cleanliness of the sticky tables, the wonderful selection of (always flat) sodas, and food that is far too expensive for the quality that ends up on your plate. (Sidenote: how does a grilled cheese sandwich, claimed to be just made, go from hot to cold and stale in the 30 seconds it takes to get from kitchen to table?) Not to mention how often you end up with something missing from your order, or sometimes, something which you look at, and cannot fathom how what you ordered could have POSSIBLY been misheard/mistaken for what you ended up with. But here's the thing- you find yourself not wanting to send it back. Also, there's the issue of the interesting array of staff members, and their wide variation of ideals as far as their jobs are concerned. Sometimes, when I've gone, I get a really nice woman who is always on filling our drinks, etc..Until halfway through, when something seems to switch off, and we have to wait 20 minutes to get her attention (from standing idle across the room, since the restaurant is usually mostly empty by the time we're there). Sometimes the people don't listen at all. Look, bottom line, even if you're REALLY craving pancakes, stay away from here. Whenever I come here, I end up having a bad experience. I love IHOP in general but this particular restaurant takes the "International" title a bit too far, evoking Soviet-style service with Third World charm. Service was incredibly slow, and our waitress basically hid from us all night, ignoring our plaintive attempts to get refills as we waited a full half-hour for our food. It's just as well; my order was messed up and the hashbrowns were soggy and undercooked. I'm really not sure what goes on in the kitchen/serving area but they don't appear to be putting that extra time into quality control.
