amazing service ! very accommodating and nice staff , i had a horrible experience at the pike n rose location, definitely will be coming back to this location!! 10/10

Two boneless chicken breasts. Unforutnatley, we ordered a 1/2 chicken.

We ordered a few bites from Nando's through Grubhub. For our order, we went with a 1/2 chicken, Portuguese rice, Brussel sprouts, and macho peas. I thought the cost of our meal was pretty reasonable relative to other similiar restaurants in the area (our order's subtotal was about $29). Unfortunately, I do not think we receive what we ordered. Like I mentioned above, we ordered a 1/2 chicken; however, two boneless chicken breasts arrived. I don't know if the restaurant ran out of half chickens and gave us two breast as a way to make up for it. That said, I do understand that these things sometimes happen; however, I think the restaurant should have called to let me know. I did try to call the restaurant after receiving the order, but they were closed . . . or no one didn't bother to pick up the phone. Overall, the food was was decent. While the mango lime seasoning/marinade gave the chicken a nice tangy taste, I thought chicken was extremely dry. Perhaps, the chicken would have been better had I ordered earlier in the day. That said, I though the sides (Portuguese rice, Brussel sprouts, and macho peas) were pretty good.

Two 1/4 Chicken Legs & fries

Stopped by after shopping in Wheaton mall. The chicken legs were delicious and the Peri heat really came through. The fries were really good. Love the different sauces they had available. I dined in-loved the music and overall vibe. Staff was great.

TBH, I've only had mediocre experiences at Nando's Peri-Peri restaurants in the DMV. But this location in Wheaton, MD has changed my opinion regarding this global fast casual chain. I was in the area visiting family and after shopping at the Costco also located in this same Wheaton mall, we decided to grab lunch at the Nando's. The décor of this particular location is very open and inviting. There is a patio style seating area which opens out into the mall, and a large dining room with soft lighting, comfy booth seating, and hardwood wall accents. We ordered a whole chicken meal (spicy) and opted for the rice and coleslaw for the sides. Previously when I dined at the Nando's in DC and in Springfield (VA), I found the chicken portion sizes to be on the smaller side. Those other locations need to consult with the chefs at this Wheaton location, because the serving sizes were plentiful for three hungry adults. The chicken was moist and flavorful, and even I, as a connoisseur of spicy food found the glaze to "bring the heat". A bit too much mayo on the coleslaw - which is fine since the crunch of the cabbage gave some fresh relief from the heat of the chicken, and the rice was nice and fluffy without being mushy. Also nice touch by providing a glass water bottle for the table and having a self service sauce bar so we could load up on extra spicy sauce and the excellent garlic flavor as well. All in all, we thoroughly enjoyed our visit and will definitely dine here again the next time we're in the area. Full chicken platter with just water for three adults was about $38 with tax and tip.

Hummus in a box and a very small amount compared to prior purchases.

We went to Nandos and to order rake-out. They were completely out of vegetables. The manager apologized which was nice. However, when we got home, our order was wrong. We ordered perishable-perishable wings in medium sauce. They gave us plain wings. We had a separate order of plain wings but the big order was supposed to be tossed in the sauce. We also ordered hummus. They shortchanged us. There was barely any hummus in the box. Hummus should be in a bowl. At any rate, it was not a great experience this time.

I like to come here when we are hanging at the mall. My husband and I get our usual: half chicken with two sides: rice and garlic bread. We got the mango & lime sauce for that one. This time we also tried the kabob with lemon & herb sauce. Everything was okay. It took a while for the food to come out, the restaurant wasn't busy but maybe there were a lot of takeouts? Finally got our food and the kabob was very dry, probably will not get that again. Chicken was good though, I would prefer the lemon & herb sauce next time instead of the mango and lime.

One of the larger Nando's for eat in experience! The food at Nando's speaks for itself. Consistently tender and delicious pieces of chicken. I found service great at this location and chose to review it mostly for the aesthetics and decor ! Beautifully done!

Excellent service! Kudos!!! I stopped by to grab lunch earlier today. I had placed a mobile order on the app and upon arriving I was greeted right away. My food was ready as well. My go to here is usually 1/4 chicken with two sides. I usually go for the mashed potatoes and rice. Today I did double mash with my chicken. Yes I was being a bit greedy! I didn't see a place to request extra sauces when placing my order on the app but I asked for some when I arrived and it wasn't any issue to get that! Trust me, some places are stingy with their sauces! I forgot how big this location is, considering it is inside a mall! Didn't seem like dine in is available as yet! I was happy with my experience here. I enjoyed my lunch!

Chicken skewers and squash and corn.

Went to this location for the first time for dinner. It was good! The food game out really quickly and it was delicious! I got the chicken skewers and the squash and corn (a fall menu item). They brought my food to the table and checked on me often. I even had a manager come check on me, which I always think is nice. I was a bit disappointed because the Dole Whip machine was broken and I live Dole Whip. Overall, the location was pretty good and I would visit again.

Nando's can always be counted on for tasty ethnic adjacent eats, appealing to all palates. I'm more is a savory than a sweets person and Nando hits the spot while delivering great value. While I'm there I always pick up a bottle of their hot sauces to use at home!

I really appreciated when they opened Nando's in Wheaton mall. I love love LOVE the red wine sangria. Since I was getting my cell phone serviced at the fix ( which is located right next to Nando's) hubby and I decided to grab a simple bite to eat at Nando's. We ordered a pitcher of red wine sangria, 6 piece appetizer wings ( I got the plainish flavor) and the chips aka french fries. It all was around $32 dollars ( rounded to get an whole number). Food and flavor is always spectacular no matter what you get off the menu. The service is great and the energy is always nice. I really enjoy there music selections. Overall wonderful place and experience everytime I come.

Of all the nandos locations that I've been to, this location in the Westfield mall has to be my favorite. After being to one nandos they all look alike but what sets this one apart is the service. The people here at this location are gold! I came here on Monday and ate lunch quietly in the back. I was impressed by the service and seeing that we dont have nandos in NY, I was really trying to max out on my nandos fix before heading out to NY. The food was sooo yummy, I'm back here and its Wednesday!!! First meal -The chicken is always seasoned very well and grilled to perfection on their burners. Their chips are regular french fries with some seasoning. I usually dip my fries in perinaise sauce. Try it, you'll thank me later! I ordered the coleslaw to have something 'green' on my plate. This isn't to discredit their coleslaw, its equally tasty!! Second meal - i ordered the chicken breast sandwich with rice and garlic bread! Talk about carb overload. I had a rough day in the office and carbs make me happy! When i tell you that this hit the spot... this is exactly what i needed to pick me up! Nandos is my fave restaurant in the DMV. I will NEVER stop coming here. Their food is amazeballs and i wish everyone could have a nandos experience.its just one of those places that you have to try.

An 8:45pm reservation turned 9pm and the restaurant was gracious enough to accommodate. The door was a short distance from the inviting bar so I found my date rather quickly. Social and engaging by nature he had already made himself at home with the host and bartenders. The Elmina staff are exactly the kind that make even the most outgoing person feel right at home. Only a quick negotiation of his return needed, especially since I was tardy, and we were whisked upstairs to our table. Upstairs we found a dining room with dark walls and dark blue velvet that set a completely different mood from the bar and open kitchen below. A larger party was seated nearby but far enough away for our own conversation. Later a two person party was seated in between. Word of advice, you will want to remember to keep your Netflix password to yourself. We were not trying to listen but when the tables are that intimate the conversation finds you. Z was our waiter and he set the tone immediately. Attentive, knowledgeable, and full of recommendations that came in right on time even for two foodies who already knew what they wanted. Drinks first. My Gold Coast Margarita and his Tree of Life arrived and both were excellent. Both drinks landing exactly where they needed to. The Tree of Life arriving in a clear ribbed glass with a gold dusted rim, deep red and stunning, was almost too beautiful to drink....Almost is the operative word! Then the starters:Fried okra and Beef Suya. The okra arrived first, batter fried to a golden crisp with a tender bite. The burnt leek and onion ranch dip took it somewhere magical. The Suya beef skewers were smoky, spiced, and finished with mojo onions that balanced every bite without competing with it. One thing every foodie needs to know. If you have a shellfish allergy Elmina will accommodate. Even the dishes that mention shellfish can be adjusted and you will not miss a thing. At a Michelin recognized restaurant that is music to a shellfish allergy sufferer's ears. For the main we ordered the Elmina Spicy Chicken and Jollof rice. A short wine debate while we waited landed us on the Rabble Red Blend. Then the plates arrived and everything made sense. The chicken and pepper sauce had spice that had layers and the Jollof rice served alongside made it unforgettable. My date did not finish it but made sure I knew how great it was. A few notes worth sharing. The bathroom is on the bottom floor so if you are seated upstairs make the trip before the drinks start flowing. The red wine will elevate the spiciness of the chicken so if you are sensitive to heat proceed with caution. We skipped dessert intentionally so Z brought our plates back in a to go bag filled with all the goodness before we left. Tap to pay from the bar tab to the final bill kept the night flowing. I will note our waiter brought it directly to my sharply dressed date but since I was treating I immediately took it back. Loved that energy. Elmina is Black owned excellence at its finest, an intimate setting filled with beautifully dressed patrons and food that will have you recommending this place for sure. Even the small things are handled, with ample street parking and a welcoming entrance, and a staff that turns a typical reservation into something you will talk about after. Whether it is a date night or a group, the tables here are ready for both. A table worth gathering at for any occasion that deserves something exceptional. We closed the night at Kuro Listening Bar, another black owned gem, a short distance away. The pairing of the two made for a night worth remembering.

The restaurant was extremely hot and muggy, and it seemed like they were trying to seat everyone downstairs despite the uncomfortable temperature. The food also felt rushed and wasn't prepared with the same level of care I remembered. The okra fries were overdone on the outside, and the okra immediately slipped out of the batter when you picked them up. The Elmina chicken was flavorful, but the presentation was sloppy. The drinks were just okay. I ordered a spicy margarita, and both rounds came only about half full, which was disappointing. Overall, this visit didn't live up to my first experience. I know the restaurant is capable of much better, which made this visit especially disappointing.

There are some gorgeous pieces of beaded jewelry, artwork, clothing, and more in this store. This is an authentic African collection store so you can find just about anything that you'd like that will relate to your African roots. Mr. Kwame was really pleasant, friendly, he engaged his customers, and he just innately knew what we liked or what he thought would be pretty on us. Blue is my favorite color and he picked out this wonderful dress and I fell in love with it instantly. It fits well, has pockets, and a belt to match. My daughter came into the store and before she could begin to browse, he took one look at her, pulled the mannequin inside, and removed the dress from it. He gave it to her with a humble, rather gorgeous smile, and said, "This was made just for you." She turned to see that it was the dress from the mannequin and once again the words, "I love it!," were squeaked into the air. She went to the fitting room to try it on and it fit very well. So we bought it! She wore the dress right out of the store. I changed into mine later and pinned my hair up with the beaded hair pin. Mrs. Sandy got the orange and yellow dress with a bracelet. She absolutely loved that too. You cannot go wrong in this store. I really thought that he was not going to have anything to fit me because I have such large bosoms, however he did. It surprised me. I highly recommend this establishment. Tell Mr. Kwame that the "Shawn, Lady in Blue" sent you. LoL! 5 Stars.

The rice, however, was disappointing. It was dry and lacked seasoning, and I found myself wishing it had at least a little butter and salt to enhance the flavor. Ratings: * Food: (3/5) * Atmosphere: (3/5) * Service: (4/5) * Dinner with Friends: (5/5) Overall, Lydia on H is a pleasant neighborhood spot with friendly service, tasty wings, and excellent mocktails. While the rice missed the mark for me, I enjoyed the company, the conversation, and the relaxed atmosphere. I would consider returning to try other menu items.

The suya here might've looked tough but it was so juicy, tender, and not salty. The red stew with oxtail and jollof were nice but salty. I've had better jollof. The Nigerian fruit mocktail was great it has a unique flavor. The bathroom was so pretty as well I enjoyed snapping pictures in the mirror. The service was great. We were served quicker than they expected given I requested a seat in a different area. Go check it out!

3/5 stars My…read moreboyfriend is Cameroonian and we love trying different African restaurants around the DC area. I'd heard great things about The Continent, so it felt like a must-try especially since Swahili Village is one of our go-to favorites for comparison. The space itself was great, nice interior, well-decorated, and service was solid throughout. They also had two distinct vibes going: one side had a bit of a DJ/lounge energy, while the other was more elegant and laid-back, better for actual dinner conversation. We sat on the calmer side. Drinks were good. We had a sangria and a tequila-based cocktail, both solid. For appetizers, we got the shrimp and the beef samosas. Unfortunately, the beef samosas just didn't hold up compared to Swahili Village's. I've had Swahili Village's beef samosas multiple times and they always come out hot, crispy, and consistent. These didn't quite match up, and that was strike one for me. The shrimp appetizer was nice, good sauce, though it could've used a bit more depth of flavor. I also ordered the pepper soup, which was excellent and genuinely spicy (more than I could really handle, but I still finished it). For entrées, my boyfriend got the Suya with jollof rice, and I got the red snapper with jollof rice as well. He really enjoyed his. The beef was cooked well and flavorful, and the jollof rice was good. My fish was also cooked nicely, though the sauce needed a bit more flavor. The bigger issue: they were out of plantains. That was strike two, and it stung more because it was my boyfriend's birthday dinner and plantains are his favorite. It's rare for an African or Caribbean restaurant to run out of them entirely. Overall, a decent experience, but with the high expectations going in, a couple of misses kept it from fully living up to the hype for us. I'd go back for the pepper soup and give it another shot, but I'm hoping for hotter, fresher samosas and actual plantains next time.

The patio is empty but every table has very clearly been dirty and left for an indiscernible amount of time. The inside also has tables scattered all over that need to be clear but have been sitting for who knows how long. There's maybe 6-8 people TOPS between the 2 tables inside and a couple people at the register,in the whole place. I go to the front, the woman asks if we need a table, I said yes and we would like to sit on the patio. She tells me it's going to be 15-20min. I let her know there's nobody currently on the patio and tables are open. She tells me that not for a wait, that's how long it will take TO CLEAR A TABLE--15-20min to clear and reset a single booth on the patio. Keep in mind, places like Guapos down the way, that are packed to the brim, have 25min wait if you Specifically want patio seating but that's because it's literally full and the inside has a 10-15min wait because it too, is literally full but here we are, in a place that was probably busy 40+ minutes ago, now with just over a half dozen humans in the building, tell me it's gonna take 15+ minutes to walk over with a bus tub, throw everything in, wipe a table and wipe the seats...on a party of 2. I had even offered to clear my own table (hell, I'd have cleared one for the other couple, too) and was told "it's necessary to wait 15-20min" I glance over at the waiting area and there's a single 2 top who I assume was also just told the same thing and they look to be debating on just leaving. We start debating on leaving. I watch the host go back to standing at the podium, no guests in line, she's not getting anyone to clear anything and again, that's abundantly clear that nobody has been clearing tables for at least 30+ minutes, she's not personally going to start helping clear which is standard in restaurants when there's no rush at the door. We decide this is a sh*t show and leave. This is also right up there with 2x I've ordered for pickup, waited the 30-60min, come to pick it up and not a single aspect of the order was done....why?....im told "we ran out of chicken"--no call to see about changing the order or cancelling, nothing. We enjoy nandos food. That isn't the issue at all. The service has gone WAY downhill over the past few years. As someone in the industry, currently in a 1Star fine dining venue in DC, and someone attempting to be a patron, it's disgusting to have a sea of tables left sitting for what is very clearly long periods of time. It's ridiculous that it would take anyone 15+ minutes to clear people's trash and wipe/reset a single table--that wouldn't be acceptable if it was slammed to the gills, so for the place to be empty as it was, it's either incompetence, laziness, lack of leadership leader or any/all of the 3. Extremely unimpressed and further reinforcing why I had avoided nandos since the 2 prior times, my orders were left for me to discover....a chicken place....had no chicken and let me come in at my pickup time to discover I have no food. Last night was my "give another shot" moment. I have literally overseen A "charity diner" comepltely run by kids 12-15 and with 30minutes training and the fact they've been out to eat with their parents, managed to run the diner for ~80 cover without a hiccup at the host stand or the entire FOH and BOH. So why grown people in nandos struggle with this, is perplexing. I think places get way too comfortable resting on their name recognition and in trade, throw anything resembling service out the window. I expect that from monopolistic mega-corporations and banks not a restaurant. The economy is bad, times are weird, people are choosing how to spend their finite time and dollars--if you can't clear the most basic bar that anyone from French Laundry to Waffle House or the random roadside diner all clear, you are failing and need to do better.

I don't have a lot of African experience, so I was instantly intrigued. After a morning of exploring the Prince William Forest, we came here for a good lunch. As a guy who's not well versed in the cuisine, I asked for advice, and I was lead in the right direction. I can't seem to find the exact menu item, but I know it the main focal point was that jollof rice. Man, the flavors in that rice were very new to me, and very delicious. Lots of good heat, but not spicy at all. You gotta try it. Also on my place was some sort of meat, some sort of delicious fish on the bone, a nice hard boiled egg, and some sweet plantains. Along with a small salad. Good meat, good sauce. Love eating meat off the bone, adds so much good flavor. Just a really nice meal. I also got some Sweet Plantain Balls (Caclo) as an app. These things were amazing! I usually don't like plantains, But these were very soft, coated in a tangy, umami powder, again a new thing for me. Overall, I very much enjoyed this place. If you're ever in Dumfries, VA, I would highly recommend you stop by, as this was the best food I had the whole time I was in town!
