***1/2 Decent comfort food menu always tried and true with all your fave flavs. I ordered the BLTA sammie with thick slabs of salty bacon atop a slice of creamy avocado and fresh greenery all between golden brown crunchy grilled sourdough. Sensory overload indeed! Big yum! Bravo! A gr8 riff on a classic BLT, refreshing, filling and just delicious when sided with Onion rings and salty skin-on shoe string fries. Decent robust coffee too! Covid protocols in place and enforced for your safety. Unrushed warm service staff. Feed ur face safely ! Brianm Ur foodieatlarge.yelp.ca

Busy yet warm. We headed to IHOP as our American cousins needed a dose of USA . Even though the place was busy we were seated in 5 mins. The server was very warm and made right recommendations. The stuffed egg omelettes were heavy and filling. The burger was delicious. The fries were thick cut and so crispy! The junior combo was perfect for my 3 year old. Pancakes were fresh and light. Enjoy the place with family and the price is reasonable too. The portions are huge! Ratings : Food: 4/5 Service: 4/5 Ambience:3/5 Will be going back for sure !

If ever I go out to eat breakfast ,that has always been to Cora's but I always wanted to check out ihop. ( international house of pancakes) Yes my dear fellow friends,it is actually a house of pancakes. Oh my gosh , there servings are in all portions from 2 to 4 to 6 pieces of pancakes. They are serve ham, sausages, eggs, bread n fruit. Special brunch menu n kids menu. I like that place that offer kids special as they always need a small portion. Plenty of drinks from cold coffee to hot coffee to tea. Omelets are my favourite and ask them for anything n they will make it for you. Servers are well versed ,well dressed and good communicators. They know their job really well. Hats off to particularly talking to random client and asking about their day in spite of the fact that they are always on their feet. This location was really busy. Cleanliness is what I look for every where and trust me this place know cleaning. Neat and tidy tables, washtoom, utensils, napkins, etc. Go grab a quick bite of breakfast or lunch in economical price.

Fantastic spot for a clown party. Will go again with my enterage. One thing I did not like about the restaurant is it was haunted. Get rid of those dam ghosts and I will go again.

Me and my friend came in for breakfast today. Service was very friendly as per usual. When I found a couple of hairs in my plate. I waved the waitress down who said after showing her the said hair found on my plate where food was already half eaten, "sorry about that, well I'll just bring you another plate of food if you like". I advised her that I had lost my appetite. She said something along the lines of, "it's up to you". I felt pressure because my friend wanted to eat his food. I said fine after a long pause. When the waitress brought the food back it looked like it was thrown together with no presentation like the initial plate of food. It felt as though my asking for another plate of food after complaining about a hair in it was annoying to not only the cooking staff but the waitress who brought it to me. Anyways at the end of the meal she brought me the bill which I thought was ridiculous. I just hope that people read this message and realize that the service is unacceptable. I am considering going to health Canada with my story. When your food has a hair in it, at the very least it should be complimentary.

However, I know why this restaurant continues to be booked and busy. I have been various times before but this was the first time in the last few years. I would describe this restaurant as western fine dining for a Chinese palate. You'll find some classic dishes but less heavy on the salt and grease, perfect for myself and the party I was dining with. I ordered the 5 course meal which was a fantastic deal for $65. The bread service at the start is so warm and yummy - don't skip out on it! The pesto sauce tiger prawns weren't overly pesto forward and had a strong presence of garlic - perfect for me! I loved the chowder as I especially like corn. The portion was also perfect considering I had many courses coming afterwards. Next, came the crab cake, which was generously filled with crab and paired with delicious house made butter. For each dish, I found the garnishes pleasing as well (especially the strawberry which was so sweet and ripe!). I think the best deal of the night was the steak. It was not too salty and cooked perfectly to a medium-rare. I managed to have leftovers as well since the portions were overwhelmingly good. Finally, the star of the night was definitely the chocolate soufflé for me. I loved the rich bitterness of the chocolate paired with ice cream on the side. I don't think this place is the best representation for fine dining. After all, they do not serve any alcohol. However, I think it is a great deal and accommodating to my taste buds. If I do not wish to drive out for fancy food, I know I can rely on the food at Shoestring café. As it is a family run business, there is only one person managing the front and I think they do a pretty good job at juggling all the duties of a host, server, and table busser! I would love to return soon.

Friendly service and I love how passionate they are about quality and using fresh ingredients (eg…read morefresh mushrooms for sauces and fresh made pasta). Steamed mussels and soufflé were so addictive and heavenly. The mussels were savoury and buttery and the soufflé was airy with the perfect amount of sweetness. They were very good! Hits and misses for the mains. While the pasta and sauce were great, we wish the seafood were panfried or something to give it a bit more texture. The duck was well done but not tough (we generally like medium rare) though we were confused by why the skin was served down as crispy skin is always a plus for duck breasts. I'm not a fan of mashed potatoes but theirs was not overly heavy and buttery, which I really appreciated and enjoyed. This reminds me of Asian western food but they were tasty and the ambience was cozy - a local neighbourhood spot.

One of my favourite spots to hit. $22-25 is the highest priced range for a diner/cafeteria setting but the portions are huge. Loved the old heavy coffee mugs and thick diner plates. My friend and I shared the German Deluxe breakfast, and we were very satisfied: 2 slices of bread, 2 pieces of watermelon, a good palm size of pork schnitzel with gravy, 3 scrambled eggs with veggies and cheese (so good), hash browns, bacon (a little dry), ham (was not salty which I appreciate) and potato pancake. Let's just say, everyone that had their own breakfast had to do a take-out box! I've seen a few folks sharing. Coffee (regular hazelnut) can be refilled but you must help yourself at the front counter. Water is in the refrigerator on the right side with cups - again, help yourself. Oder at the counter and they will give you a number to place on your tabletop. Service was great and very helpful. Originally, the owner was German but not sure if they still have the business-hence the German influence of a lot of meat. Absolutely, I would be back.

We ordered the banana and blueberry pancakes and the German breakfast. The portion size was huge and the pancakes were bigger than my head. The pancakes were fluffy and not too sugary. The German breakfast came with three scrambled eggs topped with cheese and it also came with sausage, bacon and ham and a side of toast. We could definitely feed three people with two dishes. It was a good deal for the price. Would definitely return. The food came out within 10 minutes and we were finished very quickly.

Where do I start?…read more WOW! I think that's a good place to start. My mother came to visit me from the states, and my husband and I wanted to take her to dinner. We decided on Cactus Club Cafe because of the menu. We walked in -- no reservations -- and were sat down almost immediately. Our waiter was super attentive. My mom ordered the salmon, I ordered the baja fish tacos and my husband ordered the bacon cheeseburger. The food was amazing. He asked if we were celebrating anything, and we kinda were, but that was not the reason for eating out. My mother was seeing me after a year. My PR had gone through this past December. My husband and I celebrated our first year of marriage on the eighth! We told him those were not the reasons for eating there though, but he gave us free desserts all the same, and while the dessert was too rich for me, my husband and mother devoured them, it was still so good!

I ordered Steak Frites, i swapped out regular fries for Truffle fries, i requested medium rare closer to rare and they did not disappoint. Easy to get seats, make resos online or walk in. Free parking available .. restaurant is always super clean and ambiance has just the right amount of light and decor in my opinion. I often solo dine here when i finish errands or the gym. Super introvert friendly. Think this place suits any occasion really
