This location is one of the last of its kind ( it's been here for decades ) with all the construction and restructuring of the Richmond landscape especially on no 3 road it's only a matter of time before this place will be erased from existence. It's ihop so you know the quality is consistent the service is excellent. This location has a ton of memories for me so it was great to stop in for Pancake Tuesday.

Quick 2-eggs breakfast $11.99: toast & hashbrowns included, substitute eggs and bacon with egg whites and turkey bacon. The place is very clean and on a weekday morning it was busy although me and my friend got seated right away. I haven't gone for 5 years! portions are good, prices are fair, and service is efficient. It doesn't stand out but it's a simple & classic breakfast to satisfy the cravings.

I love me an iHop, Saturday (Br)Lunch in Vancouver/Richmond it was difficult to find an opening anywhere. Luckily old reliable iHop, only had to wait about 10 minutes. Definitely very busy, but staff was quick and very accommodating. Our server Robin was fantastic and attentive, especially with all the tables they had to serve. She was also really helpful with my fiancé with swaps with his pancake order. I got the southwest scramble with toast (? Name i don't remember specifically), which was presented well and is iHop. IHop is iHop, service was what makes it home lol, thank you Robin

Oh, my gosh. I didn't realize that I haven't reviewed IHOP before. I've been coming here once every two years or so and it's been consistent for me. Service is prompt. Food is mediocre and they keep this location neat and tidy. The syrups on the side of the table are never super sticky or messy. They have some homemade milkshake with four or five different flavours right now. I didn't get to try it this time but I'll come back again next time to give it a try.

Tried Ihop 's Grinch inspired Menu a few days ago and there are only three words to describe it: ONE HOT MESS. It was a super colourful meal and idea but there was something funky happening with their green whip cream because it was bubbling in my hot chocolate like it was alive, and sliding everywhere on anywhere BUT my pancake The pancake with had sweet cream cheese icing, red candy hearts and green whipped cream was a little too sweet for me. But the price of the pancake which comes with eggs and bacon was similar to their regular menu, which is a plus! The service was a bit slow, but it was busy so understandable.

I came here with a couple of friends over the past weekend. It was really busy but the hostess managed to get us seated pretty quickly. I must say the service was pretty good! The server was very attentive he kept checking up on us and refill our water. As for the food it was okay. It was typical breakfast food. I got hash browns, 2eggs And sausages. But the pancake my friend had was pretty good. The pancakes we're fluffy and the strawberry sauce was not too sour or sweet. This is s nice causal place to catch up with friends. It can get quite loud if you don't like noise.

We always come here for a breakfast when there is a birthday as the food here is delicious. There are two IHOP locations in Richmond and this is the better location. The servers are friendly and the service is quick. The menu is large with many options so there will be something for everyone. For me personally I always order something different than what I make at home.

Philly cheese steak

We ordered philly cheese steak, spicy chicken ranch and a banana Nutella crepe. The sandwiches were a bit bland and oily. Not a lot of flavour inside. Although the side order onions rings were crunchy and big. Crepes was a little crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. Pretty big portions.

Good place to take a breakfast. The speciality eggs and pancakes are good and the portions are big. Not cheap.

On our visit it was not busy, bso, we were seated immediately. The front of the house staff were welcoming and cordial. We ordered our libations, a glass of Sauvignon Blanc and an Old Fashioned. Both hit the right spot! Next up were the appetizers, charred Brussel Sprouts and Truffle Fries. They were a great way to start this dinner. Seasoned perfectly and quite tasty. Our entrees consisted of a Seafood Cioppino with Salmon, Mussels, and Halibut, as well as potatoes, red onions, and cherry tomatoes. My wife chose the. Grilled Salmon with quinoa, tomato, and a butter sauce. Bother were perfectly prepared and did not require additional seasoning. The Salmon was moist and flaky and the seafood stew right on point. My wife had the Apple Strueddle dessert which was great! I had a taste and loved the mixture of spices. For a hotel restaurant we were surprised at the quality of the food preparation.

However, I know why this restaurant continues to be booked and busy. I have been various times before but this was the first time in the last few years. I would describe this restaurant as western fine dining for a Chinese palate. You'll find some classic dishes but less heavy on the salt and grease, perfect for myself and the party I was dining with. I ordered the 5 course meal which was a fantastic deal for $65. The bread service at the start is so warm and yummy - don't skip out on it! The pesto sauce tiger prawns weren't overly pesto forward and had a strong presence of garlic - perfect for me! I loved the chowder as I especially like corn. The portion was also perfect considering I had many courses coming afterwards. Next, came the crab cake, which was generously filled with crab and paired with delicious house made butter. For each dish, I found the garnishes pleasing as well (especially the strawberry which was so sweet and ripe!). I think the best deal of the night was the steak. It was not too salty and cooked perfectly to a medium-rare. I managed to have leftovers as well since the portions were overwhelmingly good. Finally, the star of the night was definitely the chocolate soufflé for me. I loved the rich bitterness of the chocolate paired with ice cream on the side. I don't think this place is the best representation for fine dining. After all, they do not serve any alcohol. However, I think it is a great deal and accommodating to my taste buds. If I do not wish to drive out for fancy food, I know I can rely on the food at Shoestring café. As it is a family run business, there is only one person managing the front and I think they do a pretty good job at juggling all the duties of a host, server, and table busser! I would love to return soon.

Steamed mussels and soufflé were so addictive and heavenly. The mussels were savoury and buttery and the soufflé was airy with the perfect amount of sweetness. They were very good! Hits and misses for the mains. While the pasta and sauce were great, we wish the seafood were panfried or something to give it a bit more texture. The duck was well done but not tough (we generally like medium rare) though we were confused by why the skin was served down as crispy skin is always a plus for duck breasts. I'm not a fan of mashed potatoes but theirs was not overly heavy and buttery, which I really appreciated and enjoyed. This reminds me of Asian western food but they were tasty and the ambience was cozy - a local neighbourhood spot.

Ironic that its next to a discount grocery chain, FreshCo in the same strip mall. If you want an addition to discount eating, there's also the Arches in the strip mall complex. There's also the option of fighting with the bottle collectors for some couch change at the Return-it Recycling depot a stone's throw away. DDDD, dumpster diving discount dining at its best. Derision aside, LA Grill is quite decent for what it is. It's not fancy, nor is it gourmet. The menu is not extensive, let alone exhaustive. Very simple with options for everyone's palate. The pricing is the bonus. It's extremely reasonable. Hauntingly similar to X-Site Bistro in North Burnaby. Others have mentioned that they maybe the same owners or related in some way. Worth a visit.

The $25 menu price is very reasonable for 3 courses, an equivalent value to a CAVU Burger. While price was very reasonable, the dishes were not great. She was handling the bar and tables by herself. She was attentive and provided excellent service. We had the Nachs for an appetizer. Hand cut chips, house made salsa, cheese mix, house spice, avocado, tomatoes, and jalapenos, so fulfilling! Next up were the Grilled Miso Salmon and the Big Salad featuring Tofu. Both were excellently prepare with the Salmon being flaky and moist. The Big Salad included cucumbers, heirloom tomatoes, avocado, red onions, hard boiled egg, olives, romaine lettuce, cranberries, feta cheese, and herb ranch dressing. We washed it all down with a bottle of Sauvignon Blanc at half price a HH special and a glass of old fashioned featuring Jim Beam. Amazingly another patron picked up the tab on the wine bottle, bless him! We must pass that forward. I didn't know what to expect from this hotel spot but was pleasantly surprised with the quality and presentation. We give them 4.5 for the food, the execution, and presentation.
