I had the misfortune of being dragged here for breakfast with my in-laws, who don't always have the best taste in food. I guess they have "great" IHOPs in their hometown but I'd rather go hungry than come back here again! Standard greasy breakfast fare, but much worse quality than Denny's... service was non-enthusiastic and average speed, the parking lot was full leading us to park in the shopping centre across the street, and the food was not good (soggy bacon, so-so pancakes, etc...) If you're going out for breakfast, just make the drive into Vancouver for better food. At $10-$15 a person, it's so not worth it. read more

Many people cringe at the thought, but I love breakfast throughout the day and let me get straight that BREAKFAST is the only IHOP meal that I will ever order, no matter what time of day it is. I was craving American food for dinner so I decided on ihop. Usually ihop pancakes taste the same no matter what state you're in (in the US) but for the first time, I had ihop pancakes that did not taste like how I'm used to. These pancakes tasted like homemade ones, from the "just add water" box mix that I make all the time lol. The only reason I eat at ihop is to get light and fluffy pancakes with that distinct flavor I can't recreate at home. It wasn't horrible; but it just didn't taste like ihop pancakes, and that's their specialty so it was a bit disappointing. The service was great though! read more

First of all, if you going to an IHOP and ordering anything but breakfast it's your fault, not theirs. Second how can you expect an American franchise to serve healthy, light food, that impossible. IHOP is about late brunch with a bunch guys, it's the real world equivalent of Harold and Kumar's Whitecastle. So for the food, stick to pancakes and eggs. I like the hash-browns but those aren't that good here. The only downside about this particular branch, it's always crowded on weekends and there are long waits. Finding a parking spot is another hassle. Caution: "Whatever you do, don't park in a space not marked for IHOP customer. You will be ticketed.". I have received a ticket parking in one of those free spots, so I would recommend parking in the Richmond Malls across the road. read more

Not my first time at IHOP but it's been a while since I've been. The portion sizes are pretty small in my opinion... Nothing special. The pancakes are definitely the best here but probably not enough for me yo want to come back. I got the breakfast sampler. TBH I probably should have just gotten the pancakes. My partner and I also got an appy sampler which had deep fried mozza sticks, chicken fingers and also onion rings. We were expecting it to come out first as it was supposed to be an appetizer but didn't end up coming til after we were done our meal. I'm sure the server forgot to ring it in but didn't want to tell us that she messed up. It was really busy the day we came but the server we got was so frazzled she seemed very confused. Just had breakfast here at 10am Monday morning so it wasn't busy at all. Tall lanky guy took our order. Gave us our food and that was it. Gone. Disappeared. My kid asked for over medium eggs and got two flat rubbery hard eggs. I ordered the smokehouse sausage breakfast. They gave me a wiener. It was so gross. I complained. They did nothing. Just find this location is a bit cramped compared to the roomier one in burnaby...esp. at the seating area at the front doors, watch out for the chill. my personal fav is the orange marmalade sauce w/ the crepes. We decided to go to IHOP after we endured a horrible service experience this morning at the Diner no.1 in Stevenson. We were greeted with a huge smile and seated promptly. The menu accommodated my dietary restrictions and I ordered an egg white omelette with swiss cheese and turkey bacon. Wanted a nice American/Canadian breakfast with two colleagues and we sat at the booth which was obviously made for very little thin people cause we were squished in like sausages We ordered steak tips & eggs which were actually fantastic, sausage & eggs with pancakes and tea - it was ok sausage was a bit salty but the pancakes were good, and a ham and cheese omelette which was ok. The coffee was terrible - didn't even taste like coffee - so we ordered tea. Al in all was an okay breakfast but I think there are far better places in the same area that are better - so sadly we will not be returning. read more

Ambience: It is very cramped, so I can only imagine how breakfasts are like at this restaurant. It's right across from Richmond Centre, so I'm sure it gets very crowded. I went for dinner, so it wasn't busy at all. We actually thought it had closed for the evening. Food: I ordered a mocha, which was presented to me in a huge cup. Bigger than my face. However, it didn't look as appetizing as the one shown on their menu. I also ordered red velvet pancakes. These were a hit sloppily stacked together with a little bit of whipped cream and cream cheese sauce. Presentation again, wasn't too sexy. Boo. It tasted standard IHOP though. Of course it was too sweet. But I loved it. Service: Was seated right away. Given that it was practically empty, we got our food right away. The server had a sarcastic, dry humour which I enjoyed. Our glasses of water were always filled. Value: Pretty good deal as always. Portion is fair for the price you pay. Verdict: This location is pretty prime. We came here on a hung over Saturday. There was about a 10 min wait for a table, parking was pretty tight, we were all not feeling well and well . . . Life was just hard that day lol The food is what you expect for breakfast. Some great pancakes and breakfasts but the kind of stuff that is impossible to screw up. The reason for the 5 stars is the service! Once we sat down our like 6'3 male waiter came around and he was with us every 5 min or right when he saw something or someone that needed any help. Came for an early lunch (i.e. late brunch) on a Saturday and didn't have to wait for a table. Service was friendly, efficient, and prompt. Food came out quickly. We chatted and sipped on coffee until the cows came home, then paid the bill and left, stuffed and relaxed. I was also surprised that most breakfast dishes exceed $11. As far as food goes (assorted breakfast proteins, hash browns), it's IHOP, folks. But I was also surprised, pleasantly, that I enjoyed the buttermilk PANCAKES here more, say (dare I say), than those at some current hot-spots like Jethro's Fine Grub in Vancouver (even though the latter dishes them up at four times the size). read more

(FIRST) Us: 4 adults, 4 kids (4yo, 6yo, 8yo & 10yo) from NYC on vaca.. We came at noon'ish on 12/23; parking lot was full, waited 5 mins or so and got a spot, and was then actually seated pretty quickly. (STAR) Our waitress (Robin) was genuinely nice, knowledgable and fast. Informed of us local peanut laws and made us feel comfortable about our dining. Another passerby wait staff gave us wifi. (STAR) We ordered typical IHOP platters. Some key highlights: The pancakes (i had 'jelly donut' trimming) was pretty good. OJ was a good as well. Eggs, bacon, sausage, etc.. was regular IHOP but was served super fast and friendly. (STAR) Only caveat (for me) was the gravy on the country steak; it was a little too buttery. Budget friendly. The sausage was soggy and oily (it was probably just lard), the ham was extremely salty, the eggs were hard, the pancakes were raw. Amazing customer service. Iv only been here 2 times and my first the server was big loud and happy and my second the server was soft soothing voice and funny! So, today we decided to go to IHOP for lunch and we arrived at about 1:05 and the manager told us that we would have to wait 15 minutes or less. GUARANTEED! So, we waited about fifteen minutes and then we asked the manager if the table was ready and the manager said, word for word "We're setting the table". So, we went to sit down again. 15 minutes mutes later, my friend went to ask and again they said "We're setting the table". So, of course, my friend sat down again. Fifteen minutes later, I asked AGAIN and she said the man still hadn't left the table. WHAT!!! So, she just lied to us three times!!! Wtf!! We ordered a "Strawberries & Cream Crepes", but there's not a single strawberry in it, only strawberry jam on top of the crepes. We asked the waiter what's going on and he keeps saying that there's no mistake and that the "strawberry jam" is strawberries even though the picture on the menu clearly shows many strawberries and the description says there are strawberries. The manager stood right beside him looking at us and said nothing. Strawberry jam is not equal to strawberries. Very dishonest place. read more

I was interested in their new "Simple & Fit" collection of meals under 600 calories, so I tried the $12.00 "Simply Chicken Sandwich" (470 cal), which comes with a fruit salad. The chicken breast was *processed* meat, and there was nothing in the sandwich, I mean NOTHING in the sandwich besides a slice of tomato, a pickle, and a leaf of lettuce. It was so dry. They could have drizzled a bit of low-fat dressing on it and still kept it under 600 calories. The fruit was under-ripe and flavorless. Food was nothing special... a bit pricey. Service was good. Just make sure you leave a nice tip... or be harassed by their arrogant waiter. Just arrived in Canada with my family 3 months ago. I come from a country where tipping is optional and, by no means, an obligation. It was the first time I ate at a seatdown resto here and didn't know better so I failed to leave a tip. As we were on our way out, we were suddenly verbally harassed by our waiter (a white guy with glasses), who was earlier very courteous to us. IHOP is amazing I went on a very busy day so I don't know if this is the reason why they were so fast but it was amazing how fast they were. They started off by giving us our seats then right after we sat down she asked if we would like anything to drink or if we wanted to wait, around 5 minutes later she asked what we wanted to eat. While we were eating they would stop by and ask how we were doing and pull a few jokes. I came in for brunch and ordered a standard pancake combo with an iced mocha. I felt as if the iced mocha was a bit bland, literally tasted like water with chocolate syrup (I've had much better from other IHOPs) and I asked my server if he could remake it, and instead of trying to make the customer happy, he seemed to get offended and started saying that's how it's supposed to be made, shifted blame to other members of his team, and never got back to us on the drink. It's one thing if the food is a bit subpar, but as a server, if you don't do anything to at least try to make it up to the customer, it's totally unacceptable. I've only been to this location a few times but my last experience was a nightmare. On Saturday night I came with a couple of friends to eat. As usual we were the only guests in the restaurant. Service was absolutely horrendous but what was I seriously expecting ? Food was dropped off & the bill was smacked onto the table as well. Our waiter didn't even ask if we were okay or if we needed anything. How did he know we weren't going to order more? Anyways After we finished eating I saw something move really quickly across the floor. I looked carefully & saw a mouse running up & down the booth leg. Like the mouse was in the booth.. then climbing onto the top of the table. I was mortified (lowkey wished I could force myself to puke up everything I had just eaten) & told the staff about what I had seen. Got there around 7:40p.m. I don't know if they were closing but we barely sat down and server was asking for our order. I have a wheat/barley and I know that IHOP can do an omelette with "real" eggs and without their splash of pancake batter. This is the place to go if you're looking for a breakfast that is more than a couple of fast food bites. I left full. The menu has a few health choices, but the majority of pancakes are overly sweet and I rate them as more dessert than breakfast. It's nice to have a carafe of coffee right on the table for easy refills. Not bad. I prefer a few other IHOP locations that are a bit newer, but overall a substantial portion served at a reasonable price. read more
