This morning we ordered from Ihop for the first time. Ordering online, not eating there... we've eaten here many times... Ordering on the app was very convenient and the food came out correct and perfectly on time. My parents ordered the Spicy Poblano Omlette and a side of corn beef hash. They were extremely happy with their food. Though they were disappointed by the lack of jalapenos in the omelette, but other than that they enjoyed their food. My dad really enjoyed the corn beef hash. He said that the corn beef was very good quality real corn beef. He enjoyed it a lot. I had the biscuits and gravy with two over medium eggs, hash browns, and 4 sausage links. It was okay, I wasn't a big fan. It could be that I don't necessarily like biscuits and gravy. What I will say though, is that the biscuit was nice and fluffy. The gravy wasn't bad. The meal wasn't bad, it just wasn't my favorite. The pancakes were good as always. Never have we had problems. Today however was different. I ordered the crepe combo as usual. The server must have been new because she messed it up the first time. They were quick to fix it and that's when my step son saw it. A HUGE shard of what we thought at first was glass!!!! She takes it the manager, he comes back and apologizes. He says it's plastic. We had a party of 11 coming in at about 10pm. I totally understand there is a staff shortage, but we were not even acknowledged by anyone after we were sat. We were prepared for a long wait due to the busy-ness of the restaurant. We sat for 50 minutes with the tables around that were there before us. As they were served, the waitresses never even acknowledged us to let us know they will be with us when they can. Complete silence. We walked out and left. I'd give zero stars if I could for such rude and unfriendly service. Healthy breakfast options! I needed a healthy breakfast and wifi. This IHOP has both. I ordered the simple and fit spinach, mushroom, and tomato omelet. I really liked everything except I wasn't in love with the fire-roasted tomatoes. I would have preferred fresh tomatoes. It was served with fresh fruit. I will have to make return visits when I'm in the area to try the rest of their simple and fit menu options. I was at this Ihop the other day and to be honest was dreading going a little bit for a couple reasons: one, because the last time I went the experience wasn't that great, and two, because I was going to be dining by myself, and in my experience, dining alone isn't always the best in terms of being treated well by servers. However, I really wanted pancakes! I enjoy going to sit down restaurants about once a week by myself. I use the time to just chill by myself and enjoy my meal. I am not someone who rushes through eating; I have some medical problems and am physically unable to eat quickly, so I usually have to take at least an hour to get through my food. Additionally, the medical problems often make food preparation difficult, which is why I like eating out. I usually eat out with coupons of some kind though because I don't have tons of money, although I ALWAYS tip based on what the meal would have cost. I also always tip based on the quality of service. I generally get servers who either come to the table 20 times bugging me to hurry up (I suppose since I am a single person taking up a table for longer than they would like), or servers who clear my table when I get up to go use the restroom - even if I tell them I'm not leaving or make sure I leave my jacket and keys at the table (because let's be honest, with medical stuff, it's pretty much a given that I'm going to have to use the restroom at some point while there) - or servers who never show up once to check on me or refill my drink. I suspect some of this is that society still views it as a bit abnormal for people to dine alone, but also, servers may view solo diners as potentially lower tips since the bill is going to automatically be lower than the bill for serving a family of four. However, this is a bit misguided, because SINCE I am so accustomed to getting bad service or being rushed through restaurants, when I get a server who serves really well I tend to tip high. Sometimes REALLY high. Ok, so my reason for going into all that: my server at Ihop this time was REALLY excellent. My tip on the bill was pretty high, but quite honestly, if I'd had cash on me I would have tipped him even more. He's the best server I've had recently in any restaurant. His name was Cody. I managed to get seated in the back of the restaurant in a booth (that's the other thing places tend to do with singles - restaurants often try to seat me right next to the kitchen or the bathroom in a tiny booth or worse, a table with those really painful hard back chairs...basically the noisiest and most uncomfortable places. I know they are trying to be practical about their space but it is really awkward for someone with medical issues; this time I managed to get seated in a place that was set back and more comfortable so I could relax and eat properly). Cody brought me fresh coffee and lots of little creamer packs. I ordered the blueberry pancakes, which I had a coupon for. They came out hot and were delicious. This is my favorite place for blueberry pancakes, so it made me SO happy to get these! Cody was friendly and checked on me a couple times and also brought me a to go cup for coffee and extra cream packs for the to go coffee (yes, I like a lot of creamer, lol). He didn't have tons of tables but he had several tables going and he managed to serve everyone with ease. It was pretty impressive. He had none of the attitude that I've sometimes seen with servers who want to rush people out. There was that perfect balance of letting people have their time to eat and also checking to make sure they had everything they needed. He took care of everyone's bill from the table instead of having us pay up front, which was an added convenience that I really appreciated. I'll definitely go back. I usually enjoy going to this IHOP BUT after last night, I won't be going back. We arrived at 9PM. There weren't many people there so being busy isn't an excuse. We ordered sweet tea: my glass had fried egg yolk dried on the rim. No problem: I was given another glass. Monday, July 28, I took my sons to breakfast. This was our third trip in a little over a week. The hostess escorted us to our booth, slapped the menus on the table, immediately turned around, almost running into me in the process followed with a "'scuse me" as she walked past. The waitress came to the table and took our order without delay. She returned to drop off the coffee pot. No mug. No ice water. She then proceeded to take orders for two other tables that came in after us and delivered coffee pot, mugs, and ice water. Both times I tried to get her attention and she just walked off. I finally walked over to another server and asked if we could have a coffee cup and some water. The server acted like I had slapped her with a cold rag. Several minutes went by when our waitress finally appeared with excuses abound. "I'm really not a terrible waitress." "I am so tired from last night." And on and on. She served me a coffee mug and plopped my two sons' milks on the table. I mentioned that I asked for their milks to be delivered with our food when I was interrupted with, "your food is about to be delivered, SIR." We finally got our food. The boys' food seemed to be fine. I ordered the citrus chicken pecan salad. What I received was a bed of lettuce with pecans drizzled in watered down honey mustard. Not the citrus vinegrette. No orange slices anywhere. And the chicken was burned beyond recognition. Before I could say anything the waitress had already left. I stopped the nearest employee, refused the salad, and asked to see the manager. She came to our table full of apologies starting about 12 feet away as she walked up. She told me that their truck delivery was late and that some ingredients were not available. I asked her, "why do I have to talk to the manager to find out what I ordered would have missing ingredients?" She then wanted to argue about the dressing insisting that I was wrong about the dressing. I told her that I had worked in restaurants and knew what honey mustard dressing tasted like. She was silent. She then told me that she was taking my salad off of my bill (gee, thanks) and giving us a 20% discount. As I went to stand in line to pay the bill not one BUT TWO tables of people got up and left. The hostess asked why they were leaving and they chimed in, "we've been sitting here for over 20 minutes and nobody has come to our table." Wow! When I got home I called the corporate complaint line and spoke to their customer service. He said I would be hearing from the owner in 48 hours. I'm writing this review Friday, 8/1 and I haven't heard a peep. The owner probably knows about the problems and doesn't really care. read more

Writing this great review while still sitting at my table. We're here for Mother's Day and this is by far one of the best experiences i've had at any restaurant. We got a parking spot right in front of the door, for some reason had no wait for a table (when there were parties the same size as ours already waiting), and Andrew M, our server, was the greatest. Her attitude was not pleasant and her service was horrible. She threw the straws on the table and didn't smile or say "you're welcome" after we said "thank you".
