The pathetic omelette I paid $15+ for.

Stopped by for a quick breakfast this morning. Ordered the bacon temptation omelette with no tomato's and extra cheese sauce. Also ordered a side of scrapple. My omelette came out and it was so unbelievably flat and skinny it was shameful, it should have had sprinkle cheese on it as well as the sauce, there was none. The bacon inside was only in the very center making the actual omelette with stuffing about 4 bites. The scrapple did not come out with my food, she acknowledged they were working on it when my food was delivered. It wasn't actually brought out to me until I had about 2 bites left of all my food. When it was delivered it was a barely cooked pile, not a slice an actual soggy pile. I immediately refused the scrapple and asked her to remove it from my check. The server was miserable and made zero effort to apologize for the food she thought was appropriate to bring out from the kitchen. Every interaction with her seemed as though she was annoyed in general. I asked for lemon with my tea. Never received it but also never re-addressed it. The temperature in the restaurant was frigid. Granted it was a very cold day but it was quite warm in the back towards the bathrooms, but it was unbearable where they were seating people. Needless to say I will never return here. Unfortunately I didn't think fast enough to snap a picture of the pile of scrapple but I did take a picture of the omelette and posting a picture of what it's supposed to look like.

If you come from Siberia, you may enjoy eating at this IHOP which is similar to surviving a brutally cold winter. I , like the others, wish I could leave a zero star review. I cannot comment on the food, as we left before we even ordered... We were so put off by the place in general, but even more so the fact that it was about 50° in there. If I was the type of person who could tolerate the freezing cold temperatures in the place, I still wouldn't eat here because by the time the food would get to your table, it would be ice cold. Who likes frosty eggs, pancakes or whatever? Even the staff apologized to us, saying they recognize that it's freezing cold in there. Please don't tell me they cannot regulate the temperature to a reasonable level. This place will never make it with one star reviews consistently! I don't think we are alone because I heard the one and only party sitting at a table in the restaurant also commenting about the same concern when we arrived. The place is dead with virtually no patrons. Ok... that is all.

Despite the zoomed in appearance, many ingredients were lacking both in and outside of the omelet.

Food is good, service is okay but they are nice. Wait was a little while 30-35 min wait. Inside is clean and a good space.

Such a mixed review & experience. We made reservations for Sunday brunch and glad we did as the…read moreplace got crowded quickly. On one hand I want to try again for dinner but for the price, I'm not sure it's worth it. Pros: Amazing service - very attentive server(s); we had one in training/shadowing and she was just as good as our primary server, offering refills, clearing plates, overall greet banter Cocktails are fantastic - had the Minnie Ripperton and loved it - creamy yet refreshing and bright which is a tough combo to achieve Cons: Hidden entrance - after circling what looked like an abandoned building 2x we finally figured out the entrance was in the backy and down a set of stairs. I now understand the "speakeasy vibe" but the clutter in the front made the building look abandoned or under construction; not a great start to the experience for us Food service - the other couple we were dining with got their entrees about 10 minutes before ours and we were some of the first orders & diners of the day. Usually you might hold the whole table or refire some of the dishes so it all comes out at the same time. They finished theirs before we even got our to start, making it a strange eating experience Small print menu - with the low light of the speakeasy, the menu had the teeeeniest print I've ever seen making it very difficult to read the menu options. We also didn't realize that the menu changes/is seasonal (not called out on the website) so many of the items we had wanted to try were not an available option. I love a menu that changes but hope it's indicated on the website (aka: sample menu, subject to seasonal change) Hit-n-miss: Fried chicken Benedict- huge portions, amazing biscuits and perfectly poached (but unseasoned?) eggs. I don't know if the hollandaise soaked into the fried chicken or never existed at all - and that's the thing you want with a Benedict. If it existed, it never reached the biscuits because while they were good, but were completely dry Shrimp and grits - perfectly cooked, great consistency, but very under-seasoned Water - just an observation and maybe it's just the local tap water flavor but it tasted off or as off the soap hadn't been washed from the glasses Pro Tip: be aware of the automatic gratuity in some circumstances; if you don't know, check the website before your meal!

I have to go with the majority of other reviewers on a few things here. To start very greasy food,…read moredefinitely low country style dinners here but SO good. Totally worth trying and you will leave soo full. The server was nice and this place was jamming all night. Very tight inside so definitely a cool date spot. It's dark in here, like old people with the phone flashlight dark but I didn't mind honestly. The only thing that threw me off was this bathtub drink... You won't finish your food but you'll be excited for left overs !

Myself and friends headed to Tom Foolery's after a fun day at Delafare, primarily because the staff…read moreat the hotel where my friends were staying recommended it. I'm glad, because with it being slightly off the 'main drag' in Middletown, we might not have seen it otherwise. We arrived towards the end of the dinner rush hour, and fortunately were seated over by where a musician was playing. It was a busy night, and we were tired and hungry from a day at the faire. As it was busy, there were sportsball games going and the musician playing, shouting was required for discussion and we had some funny misunderstandings YOUR GRAPE IS ON THE MOON? WHAT? Oh, your gravy is a little cool! :) The musician was great, playing lots of 70s and 80s hits, and he seemed to enjoy us singing along and dancing. We are, after all, rennies. We're glad he was enjoying us as much as we were enjoying his music. We got drinks and menus quickly, and our server was attentive without being pushy. After a few minutes looking over the menu, she appeared and we ordered. I got the Stampede Burger, while one of my friends got the Prime Dip sandwich (AKA French Dip), and one got chicken fingers. All came in reasonable time and were quite good, hearty food. So, why the one star off? Dessert. Could we have a brownie sundae? Out of brownies. OK, how about chocolate cake? Out of that, too. Uh...red velvet? Out. Basically everything chocolate. Sigh. Yeah, it was busy but not insane. We ended up not getting dessert, and it was disappointing. Whoever's managing food orders and prep, please do better. Also, if it's not available, it would have been great for the server to say so up front, that way she didn't have to tell us no 3 times. Parking in a private lot, plentiful. We would go again, we just will plan on dessert elsewhere.

The bar was full and most of the tables in the dining area were full. We opted to sit towards the front that has a few booths. Also, the place is a "Seat Yourself" establishment. The customer service was amazing, as both of our waitresses were the sweetest. We ordered Lemon Pepper wings, Jerk Chicken Empanadas, and Tuscan Chicken. We also had these watermelon mocktails the bartender whipped up for us that were sooooo good. Although the food took a long time to come out, it was certainly worth the wait! The wings were cooked and seasoned to perfection. The Tuscan Chicken was good and well portioned also. However, the star of the show was the Jerk Chicken Empanadas! They must have marinated that chicken for at least 1-2 days because the jerk taste was so powerful. Tasted like it was made on the streets of Jamaica. The sauce that comes with it was the perfect pairing as well. The food was so good, I went back the next day with my husband so he could try. They also have DJ's on Fridays and I believe Karaoke on Thursdays. I will for sure be visiting again to try more from their menu.
