Sheesh! I should have headed the sacred stars! After almost 45 minutes, the patrons are told that the kitchen is backed up. Our server did her best to get orders out as quickly as possible. The food presentation was sub par. Update: Popped in for dinner on 1/13/2019 around 7:30 pm. After waiting for about 5 minutes I was greeted and immediately told that there was a 20 minute wait for food. There's only two other tables that had guests so I was scratching my head trying to figure out why the wait for food was so long. We were seated and our drink order was taken. I'm not sure if this is a new IHOP policy but only the children are given straws now. We waited another 10 minutes and our order was taken. The food came out about 10 minutes later. I asked for condiments to go with the meal. The host brought back an empty bottle of what I requested. I am sadly out of options to have an IHOP to eat at in my area. This is my absolute last attempt to enjoy dining at any Katy, TX area IHOP. They couldn't even get a simple order of biscuits and gravy with extra gravy to go correct!! The order I received consisted of a small butter dish of gravy!! Who on this earth would ever think that that quantity of gravy is near enough for the 2 SLICES of one biscuit? Then on returning the order for a refund I was sarcastically thanked for my visit by the attitude filled Worthless excuse of a waitress!! She is an amazing food by service professional that has been at the Fry rd and I-10 location for as long as I've been living here. 20+ years. Extremely disappointing visit. The wait was long 40 minutes, COVID I understand. The hostess was one of the rudest people I have dealt with in a while which made the wait even worse. Once we were seated it took another 5 minutes to have our drink order taken. So the restaurant is half capacity, why would it take 30 minutes for the food to come out? Don't waste your time coming here! Wasn't busy when I came in, but the workers were so rude. We came in with a party of 6, and most of the restaurant was empty. The workers had such a hard time trying to find a table that wasn't dirty, there weren't any clean tables. The entire floor was sticky, spilled drinks everywhere. Came here when it was not busy. Saw two servers and a manager. The manager was clueless to his floor. One server was cleaning and ignored every table. I even saw the manager tell the two guys what sections were theirs but that was over this servers head. So the other server was trying to cover all the tables. Very dry personality with no apologies to the time it was taking to first order our food then an even longer time to get our food with the excuse that there are large tables. Umm there is one that was there before we got there and 7 people is not that large. So 15 min to order plus 35 min to get our food only to take 20 min to eat. It should be noted that less than half a dozen tables were occupied and the business of those of us who left would have doubled the takings and the tips to waitstaff at that time. Very disappointed with service, they had no Dr. Pepper and food was that not good overall. I have to wonder if the manager that is there has any training at all as she seamed to be a waitress rather than a manager. As we have been there 12 times this is our first disappointing time!
