Enjoyed National Pancake Day today. We were greeted warmly by the manager, Gary who introduced himself. And he also checked on our table twice to ensure we were okay. Our server, Gabriela was super friendly and accommodating. My daughter asked for whipped cream on her pancakes and since they came out so quickly it wasn't added. Gabriela noticed and immediately brought out whipped cream. The only thing I would note is that I ordered a side of eggs to eat alongside my pancakes and they came out a few minutes later. I came here once a while back, and swore off this location at that time. The waitress was waiting on her parents at the next table (is that allowed?), and her mom tried to fight me after I told her daughter she was wrong (I had a full gift card, she tried telling me it was empty. Probably wanted to give it to her parents). The place was dirty, tables remained unbussed throughout our meal, etc. Fast forward to this week. Clean, drama-free, attentive service. My meal was better than I was expecting--I actually wouldn't mind trying a few more items off of the menu. The rewards program seems good, too. First time in years that I've ventured inside a chain restaurant. Better part of a decade if not substantially more since I've gone into an IHOP. I do prefer locally owned independent places to fill my ever increasing belly with. But I do love IHOP. Even though people think it's not trendy, cool or hip to eat at any more. (Can you tell I'm middle aged?) They serve pancakes at a reasonable price, do cold brew coffees with unlimited refills, and above all it all tastes good. This place is not an exception by all means. Promptly greeted, promptly served with drinks and the food was good. The place was empty, no doubt as it's not cool to eat here or because it's far from a central location. But everyone was busy making sure the place as clean and stocked. Lord knows I've been in places where down time equals chatting and goofing off. I'm going to be back though, might sneak in a flask to fill up with their cold brew. And there is always a time when you crave pancakes, but the craving it's never enough to make your own without the ingredients going bad. read more

When you first walk in...you are met with the overwhelming smell of mildew. Ew. Well, we decided to stay because we had not eaten breakfast & had a time limit. Both my husband and I ordered coffee & orange juice. I did not know that their OJ had pulp. I expressed my displeasure & that I was not going to drink it. The server never even offered to get me another drink. I had to specifically ask for another drink....I ordered a water. I ordered the 2x2x2 with a side of toast. My scrambled eggs & pancakes were good but the sausage could have been cooked longer. My toast came with no butter! It says on the menu that it is buttered toast. So while I waited for butter, my toast was cold. So the toast wasn't that great. My husband ordered the sampler. He wasn't impressed with the pancakes and his hash browns were undercooked. He said his eggs & bacon were the only decent items in his plate. Breakfast came to around $34 without tip! Now, for a less than mediocre breakfast WOW! this is expensive! Both of our orders were "combos"...so why wasn't a drink included in the price?! We felt like they nickel and dime you for everything. We won't be going back to IHOP...unfortunately, we just were not impressed with the food & definitely not impressed with the price! read more

A friend and I made the ugly mistake of having breakfast here, as we had a limited amount of time and it was nearby where we were headed. Haven't been inside an IHOP in years and years, but we thought we'd give it a try. Food came to the table lukewarm, nowhere near "hot" or freshly made. Bacon was undercooked, disgusting and had an off-taste, probably cooked hours and hours before. The overall the impression and taste was of a re-heated plate of institutional garbage......sorry!.... "breakfast items". I ordered a side of "hash brown potatoes" which came out as a square of mealy -looking, pale and gummy....who knows what. Unsure what is more disgusting and embarrassing........the food served here, or the fact I fell for the idea that IHOP remains a nice place to have a nice breakfast, as it was in years past. read more

After going here one time before and having an amazing service I was highly disappointed this time. It took over a half hour for us to get our drinks and tables that sat after us not only got service before us but some that even got service after still got drinks and food before us. But this place was not crowded like it may normally be at all times. So if you like an IHop this will not let you down. Customer Service: Our very happy waitress was Meagan. She was very funny and friendly. She brought refills frequently. When she overheard that it was my nephews birthday, she of course then later brought some of the staff to sing the Birthday song and he got a little scoop of Ice Cream and Chocolate syrup. She made the the visit very nice and a little bit extra special. Food: Well folks, it is an IHop with the IHop menu. So no surprises there. I decided to have a breakfast meal and so did my Husband. I mean how could we come to IHop and not have a breakfast. I had the "Pick a Pancake" which comes with a choice of pancakes (buttermilk for me) and two eggs (mine were scrambled with cheese), two slices of bacon and hash browns. Everything except the bacon was good. I think for me I would have liked the bacon cooked till it was more crisper. Everyone's bacon looked a tad undercooked. But other than that, the meal was good as always at an IHop. My nephews loved theirs and for three teenagers, loved it all. My sister and here Husband also enjoyed theirs. Would we come again? Sure. Twice now the service has been really pleasant. The burgers are great. 5 thumbs up from the kiddos. The fries are always awesome! Never too crispy always just right. The food is always hot ! The grilled chicken, avocado club was delish!!! I'd definitely get it again. The only con was the hollandaise sauce one visit. I'd pass on the eggs Benedict. It's wasn't a good sauce at all. Too thick, no flavor... just bad. Ruined the dish. Deserts: strawberry milkshake, ice cream sundae & strawberry crepe. Milkshake had ok consistency, but lacked flavor. The Sundae was big, but too much chocolate fudge sauce. Sometime more isn't better. Crepe was very good. Also nice portion, strawberries were good. would have liked some powdered sugar on top but the whip cream dollop and scoop of ice cream were a nice touch. 4 1/2 stars read more

The server before we got in was on her phone. Then comes inside to rush us to order. After that the server failed to appear at our table for a while. I had to ask for water multiple times. Everyone's orders that came after mine got there food before we got ours. I watched a 14 minute video after waiting for 30mins and the food still wasn't at the table. I needed a refill and the server was barely there. My friend who came with me made eye contact and lifted his hand to get the waiteress attention and she just walked away. To top it all off the waitress had an attitude when bringing the check. I never such terrible service in Maryland. read more

We ate at this IHOP and had a great experience! It was around 6:30pm but wasn't very crowded which is interesting as we have always enjoyed this location. I ordered the Jalapeño Burger and I am not joking when I say it was one of the best burgers I have ever had. Perfect amount of toppings to burger ratio and cooked very evenly. This is my first time dining at this IHOP we wanted to go to Cracker Barrel but it was too packed. So we came here it was packed also but the wait was shorter and we got to sit inside while waiting. We only waited 15 minutes on a Sunday at 12pm, that's the church rush time lol. Anyways our waiter was friendly and prompt. Our food came out quickly only problem was there was a hair in my pancakes. I sent my pancakes back and it took a while for my new pancakes to come out. This incidence killed my experience. The cooks have on hats but not hair nets. And the server didn't give me any type of discount I could of asked but I shouldn't have to. Not that i would of took it but the thought would of made me happier. We usually visit weekly. The prices are reasonable. Usually get breakfast or burgers and so far so good.

I haven't been to an IHOP for a long time, so either my memory of yummy pancakes is faulty, or the food quality has gone downhill, or this IHOP just wasn't very good. The pancakes were doughy and had an overly sweet topping and the hash browns were just frozen shredded potatoes with no seasoning. On the plus side, the sausages were fine, the waitress was very nice, and they still give you a pit of coffee. Not sure I understand the crowds waiting for a table. I don't think I'll be joining them again any time soon p. read more

On Jan 11, 2014, at 2:30 AM; I sat at my table for 15 minutes and NOT ONE of I guess 10 people on staff that night came to ask me for my order. This waitress served me iced tea and then never returned. I asked a server what was going on after 15 minutes, and he ran around like he cared. After another 5 minutes, I was disgusted enough to leave. Horrible, horrible, terrible, disgusting service. You guys should be ashamed. SAM IS BACK! SAM IS BACK! SAM IS BACK! I guess you heard SAM IS BACK! The past manager that was sent to Westminster to open up the new store there is back to the Frederick Store. I for one am glad to see him back. This place fell off my radar and I refused to return there because the food quality, service and overall attitude sucked. The Current GM is a not so nice person nor is he in my opinion a very good GM. Sam on the other hand needs to be promoted to GM, and I am here to tell you he will be at the new location on RT26 in Frederick very soon. While Sam was at the Frederick location the service on his shifts was great, the food was good and the place was well kept. After he went to Westminster MD, the Frederick location fell appart. I visited the Frederick location a few times and I had the opportunity to see the replacement manager for Sam and the GM in action. I can tell you as an Ex-GM myself these two together could not make a good GM much less hold a candle to Sam. Because of this I and the family would travel to Westminster from Frederick to vist Sam at that IHOP Location. In my opinion it was worth the drive due much in part to Sam. The Current GM is lazy, inattentive, not Customer Friendly. Sam on the other hand busts his hump to take care of the Customers, discipline the Staff to get it right and is a pleasure to speak with any time. So my recommendation is call the restaurant and ask if Sam is there. If so then go over and meet him and enjoy your meal. read more
