Disgusting. My family got to IHOP before me and they were already at a table when I walked in, as soon as I approached the table I could tell they were trying to hide something. Turns out a bug crawled across the table right before I got there. My kids really wanted pancakes so they were determined to stay, I was ready to leave. The silverware was filthy, it looked like it was left on the table from the patrons before. We asked for new silverware and that was dirty, too! So now I'm completely skeeved out and so ready to leave but I know the kids really want their pancakes so we wait, and wait. Finally the food came out but the server who brought it had an old dirty Band-Aid on his thumb, the same thumb that was touching our food as he served it. At this point I literally felt nauseated, almost nothing bothers my husband but he was completely grossed out, too. We decided to leave and on the way out he stopped stopped to talk to the manager. I know, its a chain. I get it. Actually, we had gone here twice a few years back but there was a waitress who would instantly decide if she liked you or not and we, were not among the favored . Anyhow, one of our daughters chose this location for a birthday breakfast for one of the grandkids so last Sunday morning, 10 of us went there . We were told that the wait was 45 minutes but it wasn't that long. We got a table that was perfect for our family and were promptly provided with two pots of good, hot coffee. We had a delightful server who was attentive but not intrusive. All of our food was served together and was hot and looked exactly like the menu pictures. The waitress serving me was extremely rude. She had really short hair (practically bald) and it was gray. She was also a little on the chubby side. Her name is Jossette (or something along those lines) She does NOT get along with anyone who looks younger than 20. IHOP 1431 used to be good. Not anymore. Service was slow. Took 15 minutes just for waitress to bring us the pot of coffee and nearly 30 minutes to get our food after that. Never was asked how was our food was. Food was fair (omelettes) but the hollandaise sauce was broken. The Poblano omelette might have been better if there was actually a visible amount of Poblano in it. And this was on a Monday! Worse the floor was filthy. One table took 40 minutes to be bussed with a napkin on the floor aisle for the entire time we sat there. We could see the kitchen where a red broom was lying on the floor--amazing no one tripped on it. I should have turned around and walked out the moment I was greeted by the hostess. Looked miserable and sounded miserable-er when asking how many people were in our party. She walks away without saying a word and then someone else shows up sat us at a table a few minutes later. Server was pleasant, about what you would expect at an iHOP. Food- burnt bacon, over cooked scramble eggs, hash browns were crunchy on the outside and raw in the middle, biscuit so hard you can have used them as a weapon. Tres Le Che pancakes- a rip off. Barely any of the tres le ches whipped cream on the top pancake and when asking for more the waitress was going to charge us. At one point my son tried to scoot his chair to get closer to the table and the entire top part of the chair came off and he ended up smashing all of the fingers on his right hand TO THE POINT OF BEING IN TEARS. We were brought to our table and this is where things went down hill. We quickly looked through the menu and decided what we were going to get pretty quickly. While waiting for a server another table of 5 was seated next to ours. We were waiting and waiting, several severs passed our table. The hostess who sat us also passed a couple times. No one stopped to great us and take our order or check on us. However the table of 5 next to us got waited ahead of us and even had their drinks brought out and we still didn't have anyone come to us. After about 15/20 minutes of waiting with no one coming to get our order we finally had enough and walked out. One of the worst experiences I've ever had at a restaurant. My fondest memories of IHOP are all-nighters with a bottomless cup of coffee while in college. I'm sure the waitress appreciated the 50-cent tip back then.... I haven't been to this location for weekend breakfast, but I'll just assume it's a madhouse. I have had the pancakes, just at dinnertime. Yes, everyone knows that pancakes for dinner, or late at night, is somehow much better than pancakes for breakfast. Not sure why. My wife insists I tell my therapist that I somehow find the pictures on the IHOP menu, what with the placement of sausages, sunny side up eggs, cheese sticks and onion rings, and the like, to be somewhat Freudian. But I digress. My main problem with the menu is just how broad it tries to be. I'm pretty sure you're not going find the "Philly Cheese Steak Stacker", "Tilapia Florentine", or "Buttermilk Battered Fish and Chips" to be mind-blowing. Especially when we went the other night there was only one cook working (though the food didn't take terribly long). Our server was on it, though, seemingly very concerned about a delay that didn't really exist. I will say that my bacon cheeseburger was good for my diet (in that the patty was so meh that I didn't even want to finish it). So, I should probably just stick to the basics... Breakfast items, no matter what time I come. It'll just take more workout to make up for carby cakes covered with even more carby syrup. But I'm sure the jitters from evening coffee will help burn some of the calories. My daughter seems to be enamored of their crepes, with some sort of fruit and cream filling. From Austin to Huntsville, even Anaheim to Atlanta, the one thing I could count on from IHOP used to be consistency. To know that no matter where the location, the plate of food you got would be the same. Tonight we came as an ultimate last resort and could not have had a more uncomfortable experience. With no more than three other occupied tables in the place, we waited to be seated nearly five minutes before we were acknowledged while numerous servers passed us by. We each ordered waters and decaf coffee and were brought only one mug with the coffee carafe. It took another ten minutes to flag down the waitress to ask for one for my husband. Meanwhile, two off duty waitresses in their street clothes were going in and out of the kitchen being loud and deciding to sit at the table directly across from ours while waiting for their friend to get off work. When I waitressed at IHOP there was a break table in the back for that, and no one in street clothes without their hair pulled back was allowed into the kitchen for sanitary reasons. This doesn't give me a lot of confidence as to how clean the areas are where the food is prepared. As for the food, never in my life have I actually felt sick to my stomach to fork over $20 for such a disappointing meal. I got the French toast and it was okay, but my husband's plate was a hot mess. He asked for scrambled eggs and instead got fried eggs that were cut up, his hashbrowns were barely browned, and the double battered French toast he got which is their current new feature was plain awful. He picked the lemon strawberry ones which came doused in a syrup that tasted a lot like Kool Aid. For something that's supposed to be double battered they were awfully soggy as well. Honestly I don't even know how we ended up here. This place is absolutely disgusting!!! The bathrooms reek! The restaurant smells so bad and dirty! They are so so nasty. The whole restaurant is literally disgusting! Managers and wait staff just walk over the trash on the floors or around it while looking at it. They have these nasty stickers on the table for the menus to be scanned...but aren't staying stuck on. They just look brown and soaked with bacteria. I had to send back 3 cups filthy with food stuck on. The server brought out two coffee cups that literally had dried coffee all over the outside....my husband's coffee cup had red lipstick all around it...no exaggeration at all, along with what appeared to be dried detergent powder caked all around the outside. Then he brought us silverware and I had to return 4 of those because they were caked with stick goop and food and some rolls of crumbled wet paper pieces inside as well. Then the server gave us straws that looked as though they had been living in his pocket for months because there was ink marks all around and the paper covering to the straws were all coming off and worn out. Perfect as always! I got the spicy chicken ranch sandwich, and chose the chicken noodle soup for a side. I do wish there were more noodles in the soup but the chicken was definitely amazing and surprisingly filling for only 170 calories. The sandwich is definitely spicy, so that's something to watch out for! I ordered a water to drink which did nothing to quench the fire on my tongue! I also ordered a side of scrambled eggs because I was feeling a little breakfast-y, and they were exactly the way I like them cooked. My friend got fried chicken with honey mustard and ranch. She asked for an extra of both dipping sauces, we didn't realize the containers for the sauces were basically the same cup the fruit salads go in!! Plentiful amount of food especially for the cost. Horrible let me tell you why it's was Saturday evening about 930 and The restaurant was not busy so really no excuse for any of the following issues , and with all the playing around we could hear in the kitchen they should have been cleaning or practicing their cooking skills! The floor was so sticky your feet stuck as you walked to your table. My menu had leftover food sticking the pages together , at this point we should have walked out ,but we ordered anyway , ended up having to return one of the dinners like it had been sitting all day and then they just stuck it in the microwave I mean how can you mess up chicken fried steak everything was cold and old The boys had ordered the pancakes and they were so flat I had to ask did you think we ordered crapes ! wow this restaurant has really gone down hill fast. Mozzarella sticks had very thick breading, cheese to breading ratio was 1:1, shouldn't it be 10000:1? Fried chicken strips were good surprisingly, crunchy with juicy chicken tender inside.
