I'm only leaving 1 star because of the service that the hostess and the general manager gave, but the waiter was polite and attentive. I rarely leave reviews, but this experience on Easter morning needs to be addressed. I've been to 1431 Cafe before and have had pleasant service, which is why I brought my family there for their first visit. Unfortunately, this was one of the worst customer service experiences I've had, and it started the moment we checked in. My brother went inside first to put our name down for a party of 6 and was told the wait would be about 30-45 minutes. We waited outside. About 20 minutes later, I went inside to check on the status of our table, and the hostess, Alison, immediately cut me off and yelled, "I CAN'T HEAR YOU, YOU NEED TO SPEAK UP!" After I repeated myself, she responded in a very rude and condescending tone saying, "I'VE BEEN CALLING THAT NAME FOR THE PAST 10 MINUTES. I WENT OUT TO CALL THE NAME AND YOU DIDN'T COME." I apologized and simply told her we still wanted to wait for the next available table. I also told her there was no reason to speak to me so disrespectfully. Instead of de-escalating, she became even more sarcastic and dismissive, repeating herself and then walking away while I was still trying to speak. Later, she told us she would get us a table. We then watched her continue calling other parties and addressing other guests. When it was finally our turn, she mumbled "party of six," made eye contact with me, and walked away quickly. My husband had to follow behind her asking what name she had called because we genuinely couldn't hear her, and she continued ignoring him all the way to the table. At that point, I asked who the manager was because her behavior was completely unacceptable. Alison responded, "IT'S BRANDI THE GM AND YOU CAN TELL HER ALL YOU WANT ABOUT ME, I DON'T CARE," while snapping her fingers at me. What made this even worse was that the general manager, Brandi, did not handle the situation appropriately. The table next to us had also noticed Alison being rude to multiple customers and went to speak with management as well. My husband also spoke to Brandi, and her response was essentially, "Yeah, but it's Easter, so you have to understand that it's busy." Being busy is not an excuse for disrespecting customers. I fully understand holidays are hectic and restaurants get overwhelmed, but the hostess is the first impression customers get when they walk in. There is absolutely no reason for someone in that position to be rude, dismissive, and openly hostile to guests. Even more concerning, management appeared to excuse and enable that behavior instead of addressing it. Because of Alison's attitude and the way management handled the situation, this experience completely ruined what was supposed to be a nice Easter breakfast with my family and didn't want to eat, it ruined my appetite. I hope ownership takes this seriously, because no customer should be treated this way.

Chicken Fried Steak and Eggs with Cafe Potatoes and a biscuit

It always has the best food you'll ever have. The staff is friendly, the food was hot, and overall good experience. One reason I did not give a full 5 stars, is because the CFS breading was fried too long, but the steak itself was very good and tender. Thank you for great comfort food!

I have enjoyed both of my breakfast experiences from this restaurant. First, I ordered biscuits and sausage gravy to go. They really hit the spot. The biscuits were a good size and the gravy had nice sized sausage, not puny little pieces. I found two biscuits to be a very filling meal. Next, I tried dining in. I had a very helpful server, who gave great descriptions of the different French toast offered and the different fried potatoes. She helped me make an informed decision. The Creme Brulee French toast was sweet and reminiscent of the dessert, but unfortunately I found it not to be my taste. That said, it was exactly what it was described to be, so there's no complaint there; it simply didn't suit me. The southern fried potatoes were terrific. I loved the round shape and the tender centers. I look forward to returning to try other dishes!

CHICKEN FRIED BACON!!! Soft scrambled eggs and French toast! Warm gravy and maple syrup! - A breakfast plate featuring French toast dusted with powdered sugar, scrambled eggs, fried chicken, and sides of syrup, gravy, and butter.

If you're anywhere near Cedar Park, Texas, do yourself a favor and stop by Cafe 1431. This spot serves up comfort food with heart, and their breakfast is nothing short of amazing. On my visit, I ordered a plate that looked like pure happiness: golden French toast, dusted with powdered sugar and served with a melting scoop of butter, alongside a little cup of warm maple syrup that tasted like it came straight from the farm. Next to it were soft, buttery scrambled eggs--fluffy perfection that paired beautifully with the sweetness of the toast. But the real showstopper? The chicken fried bacon. Crispy, crunchy, and full of flavor, it was the ultimate indulgence--especially when dipped into the rich, homemade country gravy on the side. Every bite was a mix of savory and decadent comfort. The welcome was warm and friendly, and the service? Absolutely impeccable--the kind that makes you feel like a regular, even on your first visit. Cafe 1431 nails that balance of sweet and savory, crunchy and creamy. It's the kind of meal that feels like a warm hug, made even better by the cozy atmosphere and thoughtful staff. Whether you're a local or just passing through, this is the kind of breakfast worth slowing down for. Cafe 1431 doesn't just serve food--it serves happiness on a plate. In the words of the Terminator: I'LL BE BACK!

Iceberg lettuce

I ordered a smoked turkey and bacon croissant sandwich. I thought I was in for a treat. I got a toasted croissant with a very small smear of mayo with 2 slices of turkey that were very cold with 5 pieces of white lettuce. No bacon. My server waisted no time bringing my bacon, but the manager told me the lettuce was iceberg and that's how they're served and I was going to have to pay for what I ordered. My previous encounters with managers have been cordial, but this lady was rude and didn't offer to make it right. My server on the other hand brought some mayo and green lettuce, and by then the turkey was closer to room temp. I didn't appreciate the managers total disregard for the issues I had with the crappy sandwich I got, but the kind waitress made all the difference.

I went in on a Sunday morning and sat at the bar. I got seated instantly and placed my food order pretty quick. The ambiance wasn't anything special when compared to other restaurants in the same arena. The food too me lacked the seasoning and flavoring that would excite my taste buds, especially the chicken fried steak. Overall it was great visit.

Came here for the second time and this time I brought a friend and we both had a great experience. We were a little nervous that we were going to have to wait awhile to be seated since it was busy and a Sunday morning but they got us a table within 10 minutes which I thought was super impressive. The food here is great! Perfect diner southern style breakfast and the servers are awesome. They recently changed their potatoes though and I honestly thought these new ones were pretty bad. Apparently the old ones were frozen and they want everything here to be homemade but I really hope they figure out their new potatoes :) Overall I love this place and would love for more people to try it!

The table service really saved this place. We went on a Friday morning around 1130. Walk in and are immediately greeted by this very grumpy lady who seemed very bothered that we were a party of 7... I mean when the number 7 came out of my mouth, her entire demeanor changed from Chipper Mary Poppins, to Dark Ursula! But my parents have such a hard time getting in and out of places and their truck so I figured we were already in, may as well suck it up... It was as if I had just told her she was working for free or something... but I digress. Sat at a corner round booth. Look at the menu and a ray of sunshine pops on over. He was the friendliest guy we had met all week. Promptly took our drink orders, went over items on the menu, and ran off to make our drinks while we stewed over the elaborate menu choices. I decided to change my breakfast choice up for once and went with the chicken fried steak breakfast. I was not at all disappointed. I added a side of grits and the whole meal was delicious!! The pancakes my granddaughter got were big as the plate. The service was spectacular throughout the entire meal. The place was cram packed and he never missed a beat with any of his tables. We were super hungry and super happy. Will definitely head back when in the area again next month. Sadly, I just couldn't let the grumpy gate keeper slide. -1* for her shenanigans. Maybe next time we will get a proper greeting and I can add the star back on.

Do they have an email address that I could use. and does this place have good french toast?

I don't know about an email, they did respond on yelp though. I also know they do fantastic French toast! That's what got me to go, is a friend ordered it and I saw how pretty it looked so I checked out their menu!

Is there Wi-Fi?

Yes we have free WiFi for our customers.

They have an extensive breakfast brunch lunch menu. It was hard for me to take it all in since this is my first visit. I had already decided. I would do a very basic breakfast with some cronuts since they are specialty. So it was oatmeal for me with a beautiful display of lots of fruit on top, including banana, strawberries, and blueberries. I'm guessing I could come back here once a week and only make a slight dent in the menu. Their beverages are definitely worth exploring. Their basic coffee is a medium roast but they also have a dark roast available and then of course they have all the coffee drinks you could possibly want something I find interesting is the offering of mimosas along with some delicious looking mocktails. They also have some upbeat music playing in the background, definitely in the background, which I enjoy. It's closing in on 10 AM and it's a little over half full. It's such a large property. I happen to be dining alone this morning, but it would be very easy to talk to anyone that sat across from me it feels like they were very conscientious and quite thoughtful with planning how they wanted their restaurant to turn out. It's a close drive for me, but I would definitely take a longer drive to come here and enjoy a meal. I highly recommend it and can't wait to come back to start chipping away at that big menu!! Eventually, someone handed me a menu. I ordered a coffee, but they barely had any creamer options available until I had to ask for more. The owner brought it out and seemed pleasant at first. Then the food came. The grilled muffin was tiny, cold, and doughy in spots. I simply asked if it was fresh or store-bought--I didn't complain or ask for a remake. The owner's response? He snatched it off the counter and threw it away. My breakfast platter was no better. The grits were the only thing served hot. The eggs were runny (for scrambled eggs, which is unusual), and everything else was cold. When I asked the waiter if something was off in the kitchen, his reaction made it clear this wasn't a one-time issue. He offered to remake the food, but before that could happen, the owner came back, took my plate--including the items that were perfectly fine--and told me I didn't have to eat anything. The waitress apologized repeatedly and handled the situation far more professionally than the owner did. I came in wanting to support a local business, but this was disappointing across the board--poor food quality, inconsistent service, and unprofessional behavior. I'll be taking my business elsewhere.

Usually I am looking for outstanding top of the line hard spirits. * * * When I walked into Obsidian, I looked at their bar. It was love at first sight. Buddha and Gin rarely appear in the same sentence Never mind the same label on a bottle. I ordered it straight up. I went immediately to Nirvana. Forget the meditation and the austerities. The Buddha's Hand Gin was as good as a trip to the Himalayas. Buddha's Hand is an obscure citrus fruit that grows multiple protuberances the way some horseradishes do. It is golden and looks like a hand. Ergo the name. The Buddha's Hand Gin is a citrus tinged gin with an edge more like orange zest than like orange juice. Example - normal price of $12 and happy hour price of $9. To get them for the $9 price you have to spend a minimum of $3 in beverages, PER APPETIZER you order lol. So bizarre. So if you want to get 3 appetizers for yourself you have to buy 3 drinks or else it's full price. Only one happy hour appetizer price per $3+ beverage. Very weird. I've never heard of a stipulation to get a happy hour appetizer price The overall layout of this restaurant is excellent. I can see it hopping on Sunday afternoons for NFL games and Saturdays in the fall for college football games. It was very empty on a Tuesday night but most places are slow Monday through Wednesday. I hope the place can get it together with their service, logical reasoning, and implement some more common sense and hire more assertive employees and managers. It could be a mainstay in the area with better management and training. No WiFi either and poor mobile data service in this area, so wasn't able to post this review until I got on the road.
