We needed a place to eat after the news at the pain clinic so headed here, Shana had never been and I hadn't been in years and years. The staff was friendly, it wasn't very crowded when we came but it did take some time to have someone sit us, the woman as the podium said the person would be along and would set us. Not sure why she couldn't but we waited a bit and got seated. Shana had French Toast and sausage patties. I had a bacon cheeseburger and fries. Shana enjoyed hers and loved the patties. My burger was good, not the best and the fries were ok. We tried the chicken fried bacon just to do it, not that great. Just didn't work together as well as we hoped. I got a margarita and they brough a bloody mary but otherwise the service was friendly and fast. The food was good overall and the prices were not too bad. SHANA SAYS: 1431 Cafe is cute with a very creative menu! The decor was already ready for easter and it was quiet when we went. We most likely will stop in again sometime.

Chicken Fried Steak and Eggs with Cafe Potatoes and a biscuit

Entree 1: Chicken Fried Steak w/Mashed Potatoes & Broccoli Cheese Casserole and a roll Entree 2: Chicken Fried Steak and Eggs with Cafe Potatoes Entree 3: Biscuits & Gravy with eggs 1/2 Who doesn't love a good hole-in-the-wall cafe, one that is locally owned? It always has the best food you'll ever have. The staff is friendly, the food was hot, and overall good experience. One reason I did not give a full 5 stars, is because the CFS breading was fried too long, but the steak itself was very good and tender. Thank you for great comfort food!

I'm only leaving 1 star because of the service that the hostess and the general manager gave, but the waiter was polite and attentive. I rarely leave reviews, but this experience on Easter morning needs to be addressed. I've been to 1431 Cafe before and have had pleasant service, which is why I brought my family there for their first visit. Unfortunately, this was one of the worst customer service experiences I've had, and it started the moment we checked in. My brother went inside first to put our name down for a party of 6 and was told the wait would be about 30-45 minutes. We waited outside. About 20 minutes later, I went inside to check on the status of our table, and the hostess, Alison, immediately cut me off and yelled, "I CAN'T HEAR YOU, YOU NEED TO SPEAK UP!" After I repeated myself, she responded in a very rude and condescending tone saying, "I'VE BEEN CALLING THAT NAME FOR THE PAST 10 MINUTES. I WENT OUT TO CALL THE NAME AND YOU DIDN'T COME." I apologized and simply told her we still wanted to wait for the next available table. I also told her there was no reason to speak to me so disrespectfully. Instead of de-escalating, she became even more sarcastic and dismissive, repeating herself and then walking away while I was still trying to speak. Later, she told us she would get us a table. We then watched her continue calling other parties and addressing other guests. When it was finally our turn, she mumbled "party of six," made eye contact with me, and walked away quickly. My husband had to follow behind her asking what name she had called because we genuinely couldn't hear her, and she continued ignoring him all the way to the table. At that point, I asked who the manager was because her behavior was completely unacceptable. Alison responded, "IT'S BRANDI THE GM AND YOU CAN TELL HER ALL YOU WANT ABOUT ME, I DON'T CARE," while snapping her fingers at me. What made this even worse was that the general manager, Brandi, did not handle the situation appropriately. The table next to us had also noticed Alison being rude to multiple customers and went to speak with management as well. My husband also spoke to Brandi, and her response was essentially, "Yeah, but it's Easter, so you have to understand that it's busy." Being busy is not an excuse for disrespecting customers. I fully understand holidays are hectic and restaurants get overwhelmed, but the hostess is the first impression customers get when they walk in. There is absolutely no reason for someone in that position to be rude, dismissive, and openly hostile to guests. Even more concerning, management appeared to excuse and enable that behavior instead of addressing it. Because of Alison's attitude and the way management handled the situation, this experience completely ruined what was supposed to be a nice Easter breakfast with my family and didn't want to eat, it ruined my appetite. I hope ownership takes this seriously, because no customer should be treated this way.

I have enjoyed both of my breakfast experiences from this restaurant. First, I ordered biscuits and sausage gravy to go. They really hit the spot. The biscuits were a good size and the gravy had nice sized sausage, not puny little pieces. I found two biscuits to be a very filling meal. Next, I tried dining in. I had a very helpful server, who gave great descriptions of the different French toast offered and the different fried potatoes. She helped me make an informed decision. The Creme Brulee French toast was sweet and reminiscent of the dessert, but unfortunately I found it not to be my taste. That said, it was exactly what it was described to be, so there's no complaint there; it simply didn't suit me. The southern fried potatoes were terrific. I loved the round shape and the tender centers. I look forward to returning to try other dishes!

CHICKEN FRIED BACON!!! Soft scrambled eggs and French toast! Warm gravy and maple syrup!

If you're anywhere near Cedar Park, Texas, do yourself a favor and stop by Cafe 1431. This spot serves up comfort food with heart, and their breakfast is nothing short of amazing. On my visit, I ordered a plate that looked like pure happiness: golden French toast, dusted with powdered sugar and served with a melting scoop of butter, alongside a little cup of warm maple syrup that tasted like it came straight from the farm. Next to it were soft, buttery scrambled eggs--fluffy perfection that paired beautifully with the sweetness of the toast. But the real showstopper? The chicken fried bacon. Crispy, crunchy, and full of flavor, it was the ultimate indulgence--especially when dipped into the rich, homemade country gravy on the side. Every bite was a mix of savory and decadent comfort. The welcome was warm and friendly, and the service? Absolutely impeccable--the kind that makes you feel like a regular, even on your first visit. Cafe 1431 nails that balance of sweet and savory, crunchy and creamy. It's the kind of meal that feels like a warm hug, made even better by the cozy atmosphere and thoughtful staff. Whether you're a local or just passing through, this is the kind of breakfast worth slowing down for. Cafe 1431 doesn't just serve food--it serves happiness on a plate. In the words of the Terminator: I'LL BE BACK!

    Iceberg lettuce

I ordered a smoked turkey and bacon croissant sandwich. I thought I was in for a treat. I got a toasted croissant with a very small smear of mayo with 2 slices of turkey that were very cold with 5 pieces of white lettuce. No bacon. My server waisted no time bringing my bacon, but the manager told me the lettuce was iceberg and that's how they're served and I was going to have to pay for what I ordered. My previous encounters with managers have been cordial, but this lady was rude and didn't offer to make it right. My server on the other hand brought some mayo and green lettuce, and by then the turkey was closer to room temp. I didn't appreciate the managers total disregard for the issues I had with the crappy sandwich I got, but the kind waitress made all the difference.

I went in on a Sunday morning and sat at the bar. I got seated instantly and placed my food order pretty quick. The ambiance wasn't anything special when compared to other restaurants in the same arena. The food too me lacked the seasoning and flavoring that would excite my taste buds, especially the chicken fried steak. Overall it was great visit.

Came here for the second time and this time I brought a friend and we both had a great experience. We were a little nervous that we were going to have to wait awhile to be seated since it was busy and a Sunday morning but they got us a table within 10 minutes which I thought was super impressive. The food here is great! Perfect diner southern style breakfast and the servers are awesome. They recently changed their potatoes though and I honestly thought these new ones were pretty bad. Apparently the old ones were frozen and they want everything here to be homemade but I really hope they figure out their new potatoes :) Overall I love this place and would love for more people to try it!

The table service really saved this place. We went on a Friday morning around 1130. Walk in and are immediately greeted by this very grumpy lady who seemed very bothered that we were a party of 7... I mean when the number 7 came out of my mouth, her entire demeanor changed from Chipper Mary Poppins, to Dark Ursula! But my parents have such a hard time getting in and out of places and their truck so I figured we were already in, may as well suck it up... It was as if I had just told her she was working for free or something... but I digress. Sat at a corner round booth. Look at the menu and a ray of sunshine pops on over. He was the friendliest guy we had met all week. Promptly took our drink orders, went over items on the menu, and ran off to make our drinks while we stewed over the elaborate menu choices. I decided to change my breakfast choice up for once and went with the chicken fried steak breakfast. I was not at all disappointed. I added a side of grits and the whole meal was delicious!! The pancakes my granddaughter got were big as the plate. The service was spectacular throughout the entire meal. The place was cram packed and he never missed a beat with any of his tables. We were super hungry and super happy. Will definitely head back when in the area again next month. Sadly, I just couldn't let the grumpy gate keeper slide. -1* for her shenanigans. Maybe next time we will get a proper greeting and I can add the star back on.

Today we both wanted the biscuits with gravy and so we asked for just that! The service is as usual very prompt and courteous and our 2 plates came out fast and hot. We had each ordered the scrambled eggs soft- (so juicy) and they sadly were not as expected. The gravy was just barely enough to not even cover the biscuits- and it was very tasty, so we asked for more, and were billed for an additional side of gravy. Again the side of gravy that was provided and billed for, was very small. So there's room for improvement there. We enjoyed our meal but definitely would have enjoyed it more if more gravy had been used! Oh I forgot to mention that one of us ordered the stack of pancakes foster as an add on and they were good. Idk if the pancakes arrived hot, but by the time we got to try them they were very lukewarm. But the flavor was good. Overall, today it was average to good food: room for improvement! Enjoy!

Plenty of menu options as well. The staff are warm, welcoming, and accommodating (we came with a group of 6 and they got us situated right away). The space is small (which I find very nice), there is indoor and covered/shaded outdoor seating available. And I love the decor! Overall, highly recommend!

The eggs Benedict that I had to pay 13 for was cold and plastic like on dry sourdough bread. The hollandaise sauce was two small puddles on the side of the bread instead of coated on top... arugula just on the side all dry and cold and didn't even look washed. It's bad y'all. I went for Mother's Day for a nice day out with some friends and I'm not a mother yet but good Lord I felt second hand embarrassment for the staff here if this is what Mother's get for their sacrifice. A hostess actually said "you should have told me" about where we sat. It was ridiculous. We literally waited 45 minutes. I could have and should have driven home in that time. It was so stupid. Seriously not good. Don't go. BleCh. Wish I could leave no stars. Negative!!!

I've lived in this area for 5 years and never knew of this gem! Not a lot of breakfast places on or…read morejust off of 620. I literally drive by Hudson Bay twice a day, 5 days a week for work. I'm kicking myself that I've missed out on the last 5 years! So obviously this is my first time in. I walked in, not knowing what to expect. A lady behind the bar made eye contact with me, greeted me & said sit wherever you want. A lot of tables were taken. There were a couple open, But I'm solo, so I sat up at the bar. Another lady came over and started chatting with me like we were old friends, which I love. God Bless Texas! She was telling me everything is good, you're not going to be disappointed. Burgers are fabulous. And so on. Once she said waffles, I was in! She wondered off cleaning and helping other patrons. I looked over the menu, saw chicken and waffles. I was sold! A young man came over and asked if I had a drink in mind. I said yes. Mexican Coke. Would you believe I've never had Mexican Coke before. It's true. This was my first, right here at Texas Toast Breakfast and Burgers. Memories being made. To be honest, I don't drink soda much at all. I also said I was ready with my food order too. Chicken and waffles. He said good choice, it's a big Texas shaped waffle (love it) with a big piece of fried chicken. He put my order in and gave me my Coke in a bottle. No fountain type drink. Felt like an 80's Coke commercial with a real glass bottle. Feeling fancy. Since I'm solo, I put my ear phones in and listened to my own music. A little Lenny Kravitz, American Women, if you're interested in what I was listening to. My plate came out, and Oh ! My ! Word !!! Chicken & waffle big as my plate. I nearly cried, gasped, unbelievable! Seriously, this was a solid breakfast, and now I'm really bummed I've missed out for 5 years! I joined the clean plate club even though I was completely stuffed. Chicken was tender, juicy, hot and fried perfectly. Light crispy, not greasy. So, so good. The waffle was light & fluffy, but once I smeared the butter on it and soaked it with syrup, I put the chicken back on top of the waffle and cut away at both. Solid breakfast. Completely epic. Enjoyed every bite. Was in my own little world with my music and good food and an amazing Mexican soda. The service, way top notch. I felt like family. The young man that took my order, Alvaro M, totally chill with me, we talked a little about ourselves. And that I never knew this was here even though I drive by on 620 for work. Truly, great service. As a solo diner, it's nice to have human contact. Even though I had my ear phones in 1 ear, so I could still hear and interact. Had the best service, food, interaction. Couldn't have asked for a better first impression. Can't wait to come back. Parking lot is pretty large. So you shouldn't have a problem finding a place. This seems like an off the beat residential neighborhood with a lot of RV parks, and boat launching area. Like I said, hidden gem!

I grew up eating (and later making) really good chicken fried steak. So I didn't come in casual. I came in ready to evaluate. First things first: this spot is tucked into a strip mall, and if you're not paying attention, you'll drive right past it. Keep your eyes open. Walking in, though? Completely different story. The vibe is laid-back, welcoming, and genuinely friendly. We were greeted right away and told to sit wherever we liked. Midday on a Wednesday meant it was nice and quiet; no wait, no chaos. Drinks were simple - Mexican Coke for me (always a win), fountain Pepsi for my lunchmate. (it's always nice when they have both options) We both ordered the chicken fried steak because of course we did. That's what brought us here. Sides: Me: green beans + mashed potatoes Them: salad + mashed potatoes Gravy situation: Me: classic Them: chorizo gravy Food came out quickly, which I always appreciate. Let's break it down honestly: The breading on the chicken fried steak? Perfection. Crispy, well done, exactly what you want. The meat itself? That's where things fell short. It needed more tenderizing--cutting into it took effort, and the texture leaned dense and chewy instead of that tender, fork-friendly bite you're hoping for. On top of that, it was missing seasoning, which made the whole thing feel a little flat despite that beautiful crust. The chorizo gravy (per my lunchmate)? Solid. Good flavor. But even that couldn't fully make up for the lack of seasoning in the meat. Sides were a mixed bag. Flavor was there--but mine had noticeable cold spots, like they'd been reheated unevenly. My lunchmate's sides were warm, but not quite hot. Now here's where they win big: The service. Top notch across the board. Everyone was kind, attentive, and welcoming without hovering. The owner even came by to chat for a bit - super friendly, clearly passionate, and we genuinely enjoyed the conversation and hearing about the food. That kind of hospitality goes a long way. Overall? I'd come back. But next time, I'm switching it up. The owner confidently recommended the waffles, and after that conversation, I'm willing to give them a shot. Because while the chicken fried steak didn't quite hit the mark for me this time, the people and the atmosphere? Absolutely worth another visit.

You feel taken care of from the moment you sit down. Now, about sitting down: this place is popular. Like, really popular. If you're hoping for an intimate conversation about your feelings, you might want to snag a table outside. Inside, it's lively enough that you'll be reading lips more than listening. But hey, the outdoor seating is lovely, so problem solved! Here's where things get a little greasy--literally. First Watch proudly markets itself as a champion of fresh, whole ingredients and quality cooking. I've been a fan for exactly that reason. But on my most recent visit, something was... off. The food had this noticeably greasier quality, and I'm pretty confident they switched to a cheaper cooking oil (canola or similar vegetable oil, if I had to guess). For context: certain oils don't agree with me--they trigger migraines and general unwellness. And sure enough, within hours, I was both nauseous and nursing a headache. Not exactly the "fresh start" First Watch promises. Everything else was solid, but I can't give five stars when a restaurant's practice doesn't match its principles. If you're sensitive to oils or generally avoid the cheaper varieties, proceed with caution or ask about their current cooking oil before ordering anything fried or sautéed. Still love the concept--just hoping they get back to their roots (and better oils).

Gone a few times..at different times. Of course the weekend mornings are the busiest! But, even at their busiest, the staff is always pleasant and attentive. I have gone a couple times with my husband, who is very picky on breakfast food. But, got him to venture out and even try the Italian omelet, which he loved. Both of us LOVE their potatoes! I love their chicken sausage (*get a side of it if your meal does not come with it). But, today, went on weekday morning by myself and even around almost 11am, it was pretty packed. I sat on the counter, and had great service! Got my coffee right away. (*strange, they don't put a spoon in the main set up. Had to ask for one...and was a large spoon...for coffee). Decided to try one of their NEW breakfast items (*and asked server, and she said it was good), was the Chimichurri Steak and Eggs hash! OMG...soo good! Comes with steak, eggs (*how you like it...I did scrambled), peppers, onions, spinach, feta, garlic aioli and chimichurri sauce! Soo much great flavors! I don't know if this only be "seasonal", but hope they add to menu. Thank you again for great food and great service! Will be back!
