Tori is a waitress at this location, and when my boyfriend and I moved out here we went there because we didn't know the area well enough yet, and we fell in love with her! I've been to IHOP twice but have mixed feelings over it when compared to my favorite breakfast place Bob Evans. As a result, I'm stuck at around 3 - 3.5 stars when rating it. The first time I went, I was with my family and we decided to give it a try for a breakfast-dinner meal since the Bob Evans in Leesburg is farther away from my home than IHOP's. It was nearly empty, so the four of us were served promptly and received our meals within a reasonable amount of time. I ordered a stack of their Double Chocolate Chip Pancakes, which were good, but just good when compared to Bob Evans' unlimited stack. Just today, I ate brunch with my cross country team at around 1. However, the place was packed so it took nearly thirty minutes for the 10 of us to get a table. Once we were seated though, it took 10 minutes till a waitress came over and took our orders. I decided to try a 3 Pancake and Egg Combo (which were scrambled) with a side of 4 bacon strips. I felt satisfied with my meal more than last time, with the addition of the eggs and bacon, and I actually preferred the buttermilk pancakes more than their Double Chocolate Chip ones. However, I received my bill and paid $11 for my meal, which was about $10.50 or so. When our waitress came back, she said I didn't pay enough money, although I clearly remember giving two $5 and one $1. Even my coach, who was sitting next to me, said I paid enough. I didn't receive any change, but that didn't matter to me compared to the waitress saying that I underpaid. She said she would check it out, but by that time we were already leaving and I was still 100% sure of my $11. In conclusion, IHOP has potential with its satisfying breakfast meals but could step it up a bit on checking how much people pay on their cash bills if they're not using credit. I know what I did, and I'm still firm that I paid more than enough for my meal (I'm actually surprised that our waitress doubted me on paying enough, and I don't like to be dishonest to other people). If I had to choose to go out for brunch, it'd definitely be Bob Evans, but IHOP will do in a pinch. It'll probably be a while though before I return. read more

This IHOP might just be one of Ashburn's best kept secrets...the staff is over the top....actually went to dinner four days in a row because breakfast for dinner sounded so wonderful for the family...each day my family had a different server and they all were excellent they knew the menu offered suggestions and were very attentive...the food was fantastic...so if you don't know what you want to eat one night and nothing sounds good for dinner....head over to IHOP you will be pleasantly supprised read more

The food was mediocre (crepes kinda gross the last couple bites for some reason), but the service was TERRIBLE. Never checked on us once.. we had to flag our server, Bryan G, down for some ketchup and he never came back. We didn't get water or refills. We had to wait a good 10 minutes with completely empty plates before we had an opportunity to ask for the check, and after we asked he took forever again.. I looked over and he was standing with some other servers, checks in hand, just laughing and chatting for several minutes. After we paid, a very unfriendly and curt "goodbye". Having both been servers many years ago, we always leave at least a 30% tip but this was one of the rare times we felt we needed to reflect the level of service in our tip. The restaurant was half empty, with a good amount of waiters and yet we waited 15 minutes to get seated, 15 minutes for someone to take our order, and another 40 minutes for the food to show up. Even after that, my friend's order had apparently not been entered so he had to wait another ten minutes for his food. Our server Odir was not the greatest. The fam decided to go out for a hearty Sunday morning breakfast. Of course, being from Ashburn, we decided to visit the Ashburn IHOP. Now, this is not our first experience there, and previously thought is was Okay, nothing special, but this morning, grrrrr. We arrive fairly early and request a seat away from the majority of patrons only because our brood can become rowdy (we are talking about two boys under the age of 2). We were pleasantly seated in a very abundant booth and for the next couple of minutes, observed 3 more tables being seated in our area. Within the next 30 seconds, the first gentleman to be seated near us was immediately taken care of as the next table of patrons were visited by their friendly waitress immediately thereafter. Us? Still sitting, waiting...5 minutes of sitting and time ticking for food with little ones can turn from pleasant to volatile in a matter of seconds (those of you with small kiddos know exactly what I'm talking about). Keep in mind, we are trying to entertain two hungry little guys who are getting more wiggly by the second. To no avail, no waiter/waitress. Enough. We got up and quietly exited. Right before walking out the door and by the hostess stand, the manager stopped us to explain why we had not been served and that he would happily see that we were served immediately. Firstly, how did he know we weren't served because he never visited our table or much less looked our way. And why were we not served immediately while at our seat...he obviously knew the problem! Strike 3! We politely (not really wanting to be polite at this point) said thank you but no thanks, all the same! Never again, will we visit this establishment!!! read more

I had recently visited this location on a Monday morning with some family. Usually, we know what to expect when dining into to our local IHOP restaurant from the food, to the quality of service. However, when we arrived at this specific location, the experience we had here was not pleasant nor comforting. When we first arrived, as we were seated by our waiter, Julissa, we had noticed that our table had not been cleaned properly. We had asked our waiter if she could please clean our table. Immediately, she seemed displeased to our request, and as she cleaned, she was quick to do so with an attitude. Once we ordered our food, she left. From then on, we were not attended for roughly 45mins. Surprised with the lack of service, I sought for a manager to understand as to why we weren't being attended in a timely manner. As I approached the manager, his response was simply, "We'll be right with you." Displeased with his answer and the quality of service, I sat back down and continued to waited. 15mins more had passed by, and our order had finally arrived. As the food was served, our order was completely wrong. Again, displeased with the lack of communication and service, it had become a bit unbearable to deal with the situation any longer. Just as I thought that things could no longer be compensated for, we had the fortunate optimism of being attended by a completely different waiter, Thania. She had noticed the lack of service we had, and was quick to apologize for the disappointing inconvenience. She even took a step further and cleaned our table gracefully. Went on a Sunday around 11ish which was packed but for a table of 2 was seated within 10 minutes. The server we got wasn't friendly at all and she got my order wrong. When I told her about it she talked back to me and left even before I could say anything else. Was not happy with the service but the food wasn't too bad. Bad experience. Our waitress (Tania) was extremely inattentive and rude. We only saw her three times: when she took our order, when she came to correct me when I asked the food runner if my order came with pancakes, and when we flagged her down so we could get our check. She never stopped to check on us once, even though our table was right next to the waitress station. The food was okay. My food tasted like soap. I normally enjoy going to IHOP to eat, but tonight's experience was the worst. We waited about 5 mins before anyone acknowledge we were standing at the front. Then it took another 5 mins to get greeted by our server. I normally don't meant names but tonight I will her name was Kimverly. My boyfriend and I both asked for water she returned with one water, then we had to wait another 5 mins to get her attention about another water. We then order an appetizer and then order our food about 5 mins after she put the order in. Well we get the appetizer and not 2 mins later our food came out. Then it took forever to get the a to-go box and the check. When she picked up the check it took her 10 mins to return to with the credit card slip. Needless to say I probably will not be returning to this IHOP anymore. And the only reason I gave one star is because its convenient to where I live and travel passed. read more

I ordered a garden crepe with three other entrees over the phone today. When my husband came home with the food, I found a crepe with ham, bacon and eggs instead of mushrooms and spinach. I called and told them that they gave me a wrong order. They said they did not make garden crepes any more. They should have told me on the phone or told my husband while he was there, so he could order something else for me. Instead, they decided themselves to make a crepe with ham, bacon and eggs without mentioning to my husband at all and charged him for it!!! I would not have believed it if someone else has told me this. Of course, I asked them to refund me for the crepe that I did not order! The IHOP at Pipeline Plaza bear Dulles, VA: We were traveling through from out of town, and stopped here to grab some breakfast. Our server was very pleasant and the wait was short, even though the dining room was crowded with people. Generally it was a nice visit, but there are, unfortunately, a few things that brought down the score. :( They didn't cook my eggs the way I ordered them, which is a minor gripe, and brought out the wrong pancakes at first, but they caught it just before they got to the table. The biggest problem, and a major red flag, was what happened when we went to pay. We had to pay at the table, which is unusual. At every other IHOP I've been to, you have to pay up front. My mom was a bit skeptical, so she paid our $24 tab with $40- two $20 bills. The server took a bit to bring back the change, and when he did, it was only $6...? He didn't come back to the table after that, so my mother went to speak to the manager, who had mysteriously disappeared, although he'd been there about 15 minutes earlier.
