I love that their menu has options whether you want something light and healthy or something a little more indulgent. The staff is always friendly and upbeat, and the store stays clean and welcoming. You can tell they take pride in what they do. My orders are always accurate, and the quality is super reliable -- which is rare these days. If you're looking for a place that delivers great flavor, good vibes, and quick service, Tropical Smoothie is absolutely worth the stop. I keep coming back for a reason.

This Waffle House actually had surprisingly good food. I know the food quality at most Waffle…read moreHouses depends on who is cooking at the time of your visit and I think we go lucky. The woman who helped my friend and I was very friendly and to care to make us exactly what we requested. We did wear masks into the restaurant and removed them when we were seated. We were not asked to wear them, nor did they have a sign requiring them, but I know this city had a mask ordinance (I'm from FL, where we do not have the same requirements as Asheville) so we just wore them until we were seated. We were the only customers in the restaurant at the time, so we were helped quickly and our food was prepared immediately. At this establishment you are able to watch your food being prepared, which I admit can be a good or a bad thing, depending on safety and sanitation practices. I noticed that the cook did not wear gloves, but I did see her wash her hands before preparing our food, so I chose not to say anything. I think this can be chalked up to a case of "you get what you pay for," and Waffle House isn't exactly fine dining, so I'm not complaining. I ordered the breakfast meal with two waffles, a scrambled egg, bacon and toast and my friend ordered a steak sandwich with a double order of "smothered and covered" hash browns (that's Waffle House speak for cheese and onions). My waffles had so many blueberries cooked into it that it was a deep purple color when I got my plate. It was surprisingly good, though. The hash browns were light and crispy -- a definite win for me, as there's not much I hate in life more than soggy hash browns. My eggs and toast were , well, eggs and toast. I will say that the portions were large and there was no way I could eat so of the food I was served in a sitting. I ended up boxing it up and taking it back to my hotel to eat the next morning for breakfast. My friend said the sandwich he got was really good, and his hash browns were excellent. It seems like the two things that stand out at Waffle House -- when you're in the mood for slightly greasy diner food -- are the waffles (hence the restaurant's name) and the hash browns. Everything else is pretty run-of-the-mill. I think our check total for everything was less then $20 before the tip. Our hostess/ waitress/cook/cashier extraordinaire checked in on us several times to see if we needed anything and made us feel really comfortable and relaxed while we were there. We shared a few laughs with her before we headed out and then left. Now for the real fun... when we walked outside, there was a Waffle House employee in uniform with her boyfriend feeding sausage and eggs to a giant Pit-bull directly in front of the exit door. There was another employee outside smoking right in front of the door. As they say, the only way out was though!!! This was comical, and after a pretty epic diner visit, it didn't seem to bother us much. If this send in any way offensive, you could have SEEN our hotel. Overall, for a Waffle House, this seems to be almost a "greatest hits" type of review. I honestly did have a good time and would definitely give it another go if I'm ever back in this part of Asheville. P.S. Also, the Asheville Outlets and several hotels (some classier than others) are within walking distance!!!

I placed the order online and it was pretty simple. I managed to get the order set up and there a section with special instructions so I asked for oil and vinegar on the side. As I finished placing the order I forgot to add pickles and called the store and asked the customer service rep for a side of pickles. The sandwich was done very quickly as I was surprised. The driver for to the store rather quickly and delivered it with no problem. As I opened the bag I saw the sandwich and pickles but they forgot to give me the oil and vinegar I had put down but its ok. The sandwich was excellent. The bread was soft and fresh and the toppings were tasting fresh as well. Even the lettuce was crisp. Perfect! I m very happy to try this and will be back again. Even if someone had a bad experience I believe you should try it for yourself and decide.

Another couple walked in behind me. I wanted a coffee. They wanted coffee. Their coffee bar closes at three although they are open. I was doing a coffee crawl, which none of that credit goes towards alcoholic drinks. I was not looking for a $25 hamburger or is it a $23 hamburger. So I left. It's unfortunate that the door is open. There's a bar by the door and there's no staff. It's unfortunate that they're open but I can't make someone a coffee. So basically I don't have any experience with their food or drink. I just think they should say it on their website that the coffee bar closes at three. I wouldn't have driven all the way there. I cannot respond to the owners reply. The woman that did come to greet myself and the couple that came in behind me and I think another couple came out after that said very clearly there is no coffee after 3 PM. So there's a disconnect there. Also, I was doing the coffee crawl. So unless you're offering me a free coffee, I doubt I'll be coming back.

We had call in to put our names on the waiting list, so we were seated promptly when we got their. Our server was wonderful. He seemed to know exactly when we needed him, but he didn't "hover." Maybe that that should be expected in this type of restaurant.
