One of my lady friends decided we should go and try the new owners of Kosta Kitchen in fletcher. We got seated quite quickly and our server was very prompt, efficient and attentive. The menu was straightforward, but everything looked delicious so it was hard for us to choose what we wanted for lunch. I decided to take their ultimate club sandwich with a side of onion rings. My friend got the BLT platter with french fries. wasn't long before our dishes came out. Very plentiful looking and the taste and preparation was great! Food was fresh and there was more than enough. We both agreed that we will be coming back there again and possibly try their dinner menu. We sat outside and had a good table. It was a nice covered outdoor area with siding for when it's cold, The service was good, and the staff was very friendly. The Chicken Philly and the Chicken Gyro were delicious. The Cheeseburger was good but the other sandwiches were better. This restaurant was bought out a while back. I went there today, it's now a country diner. They have done away with the breakfast menu. Not very good: I had liver and onions, right out of a frozen meal. I wouldn't recommend. The waitress was pleasant thou. read more

We had heard about it for years and one day on the way home from Asheville we stopped. The service was good but it was freezing in there. The food was ok. My wife had a cheesesteak which she gave it a C. I had the Chicken fried steak with Green Beans and Rice Pilaf which were all good. I would give those a B. We are locals and have been eating at Kostas for years. We have always been pleased with the food and service. I am not sure what has happened, but things have definitely changed. Over the last couple of months, we have noticed longer wait times for seating and food. Last Sunday, we went for lunch. We waited forever to be seated and then the hostess handed ME the menus and pointed to a table! It took a while for a server to come to the table., another long while to get our drinks and then forever to get our food. (Hence, the long wait to be seated!) I had to ask for lemon 3 times before receiving it and we had to ask for and wait on napkins, as well. read more

This was my second and last time. They charge $12 for chicken and dumplings got the dumplings which is flour and water if there was chicken it was mighty small like the trick bowl the served it in. Bowl looked big held very little. 2 sides tiny bowl green beans looked like they had been sitting around for a week. Ordered greens they were tasteless it's sad that no one asheville can do restaurants successfully. We ordered lasagna it was absolutely terrible. I will never waste any money at that restaurant again. I suggest you save your money. read more

Kosta's Kitchen is one of our favorite restaurants in WNC. It's basic, hearty food, nothing fussy, just simple with great flavor. The staff is wonderful and check back to see if your order was right. I'd rather go to Kosta's than any chain restaurant or even some of the other local restaurants because it's unassuming and straightforward. read more

Food was incredibly bland, the burger was just ok, the fries were most likely frozen originally, the onion rings were good though. Turkey tasted like it was frozen, gravy was instant, stuffing had the consistency of glue. Service was good, our waitress was very nice. The ambiance was nice, I liked the southern diner look. Overall, go for the people and ambiance, but be prepared for mediocre food. read more

Great place to eat in Fletcher, NC A very nice restaurant, reminiscent of an old-time diner. There is a large parking lot so parking should not be an issue. There is an outer porch with tables that you can sit at if you have a pet. There is a sign as you enter the porch that tells you to wait on the porch until the host/hostess comes out to seat you. We were greeted and seated quickly. The restaurant proper has a counter and booth lining the outer wall. There was a room with additional seating in the back of the building. We were seated at a booth near the front of the main room. The distance between the table and the seat was a little tight but the tables and the room was clean. The decor has plates displayed on shelves just below the ceiling and lots of knick-knacks. We visited near Halloween when all the waitresses had on orange shirts with various sayings like "Broom Trainer". The waitress was efficient in taking our drink and food orders. We ordered two breakfasts of french toast and something very similar to an egg McMuffin. Both dishes came out quickly and were delicious. The cost was about $24 but was worth it for the friendly staff, delicious food, and good atmosphere. Enjoy! read more

Terrific place for breakfast or lunch. Beautiful new outside deck seating. My wife had the fruit waffle which would pretty well fill anybody up. I had marinated grilled chicken with sweet potato casserole and onion rings. It was excellent! The cornbread could have used more cornmeal, it didn't hold together well but that was minor. This is a cute little place In Fletcher NC . The waitresses are super friendly and help each other out. I was with 6 other people and they didn't miss a beat. I ordered the Grilled Chicken Salad. The Chicken was delicious and the dressings are homemade so I chose Bleu Cheese . It was full of bleu cheese chunks and very good. The salad however had 1 slice of tomato, one slice of onion and 2 cucumbers, plenty of cheese and I chose to leave off the boiled egg . It was good although I would have preferred more vegetables. It was $10 and some change. I would say if you are a big eater this may not be enough. Everyone enjoyed the meal, some got Chicken Salad sandwich with fries and some the liver and onions. It used to be a good restaurant, specializing in breakfast but serving good meals at reasonable prices throughout the day. My last two trips, however, have been extremely disappointing. While their prices have been increasing dollar by dollar, the quantity and quality of their food has declined. A meatloaf dinner I ordered for take-out recently came with 1.5 small pieces off the end of an overcooked piece of meat. Two days ago, I ordered a turkey dinner and side salad to-go. When I opened the package later at home, the turkey was dry and the salad was nowhere to be seen. I may or may not give this restaurant a strike-three opportunity but, at this point, I'm not inclined to. A shame seeing another good business bite the dust. read more

We have been loyal patrons at Kosta's for many years...often eating there three or four times weekly. Unfortunately, just in the last two months or so the food quality has gone down considerably. This is especially true with the meat entrees. For example, the chicken tenders are suddenly mostly breading, the turkey and dressing have a strange taste, and even the sandwich meats are no longer the same high quality. We've also noticed the vegetable selections seem to be more "canned" and/or processed. Even the french fries are not as "crispy." Definitely miss our Kosta's from just a few months ago. The service is always wonderful and the covered porch is great, but we do hope the kitchen returns to better quality food selections. P.S. The breakfast is still outstanding! read more

Both the pancakes and the french toast were so tough, you would have thought you were cutting into a piece of meat.....and not a tender cut. I was a regular customer until I got food poisoning. Was sick in bed for 4 days. Had ordered the tuna salad cold plate. I went back in a couple weeks later to tell them about it. They didn't want me in there talking about food poisoning & suggested that maybe I shouldn't come back. A few months later I ran into someone I knew at the Health Dept. So to start they where busy when I arrived so that's a good sign that the food is good! However a man walked in before me not wearing a mask and coughing...... then when the waitress came to see what he needed she sat him without asking him to put one on. So they lose points we me for that. They do get credit for getting us in pretty quick tho! And the staff was very accommodating when a young mom needed to get a different table because of a fussy child The service was prompt and the coffee was hot! So I love that. Outstanding! We've driven by many times while visiting our grandson and finally was able to try it out and everything was on point. Our waitress was awesome, helpful and friendly. My meatloaf with mashed potatoes and green beans with a cornbread muffin was delicious and my wife enjoyed the chicken salad. Followed up with a slice of apple pie with cream and coffee. Thank you fellow Yelpers!!! We were passing through Asheville at 6:30 in the morning and looking for homemade, non-fast food. We stopped here based on Yelp reviews and we very happy we did! I had the Greek omelette and it was the best omelette I've ever had. Not greasy. Packed with fresh veg. My husband had french toast, eggs and bacon and was super happy with his choice too. My daughter and I had lunch at Kosta's Kitchen on Friday June 17. They have a large menu with something good for every taste. The section of the menu we liked best was for "small servings". Several choices and many sides from which to choose. We both got fried flounder with two sides, and that was plenty and delicious. Very reasonably priced. Excellent small Diner! Local favorites on the menu and plenty of locals eating here!! If you like small local places this is the right restaurant for you! We had lasagna which was delicious and obviously home made AND fried catfish filet which was fabulous and perfectly cooked. All food was fresh and hot. The wait staff was friendly and accommodating.
