I don't understand this score. I think the pizzas are excellent, top five, nice salads too. The pizza cheese does exactly what I want the cheese to do, long, stringy Ninja Turtle style cheese, something that I've been honestly expecting and never realized that, until that cheese was nearly a foot away from the pizza and still holding them together. I recommend the Goat Cheese Pizza, which is a Hawaiian with bacon and goat cheese. read more

Just don't. We stopped in after picking someone up from the airport. It was 8 adults and 2 kids. When we ordered, I was told it would be an up charge for my Greek salad (fine), but when the salad came, it was the EXACT same as the no charge tossed salad but with ONE (and I literally mean one) olive. I asked for additional olives because how are you gonna up charge me extra for a 'Greek' salad with one olive? I omitted the feta on my own... was then told that she technically in the future would have to charge me extra for the olives and she could get in trouble. Maybe, we shouldn't be charging people extra and providing a salad with one olive. Then, I ordered an Alfredo with chicken which is also an up charge and received my pasta with NO chicken. A lot of the orders were incorrect or missing things in some capacity. Alfredo was gritty. The locals must just have nothing better.. thankfully I was just an interloper but even if in the area, I would not be back. read more

Service and ambiance worked out well as I only had to wait 15-20 minutes. I got an Acropolis Supreme (consisting of pepperoni, sausage, ground beef, ham, mushrooms, green peppers and onions) on a GF crust with non-dairy cheese. The flavors tasted like the supreme pizzas I grew up eating and the crust had a good crunch to it, but it was also very oily on the bottom. Overall, though, an enjoyable pie. read more

My daughter ordered fettuccine Alfredo added chicken with side salad upgraded for a few to a Greek hold the feta, well no feta and ONE OLIVE and no chicken in the Alfredo. We asked for a few more olives at least and server brought like 3 but proceeded to tell us we would be charged xtra for olives, wait a min. You mean Greek salad doesn't come with more than 1 olive with what was charged? We already saved your food cost by holding the feta, just bad customer service. Second visit to Acropolis Pizza, Dec 1, 2025. Very good! Arrived around 5pm and seated immediately. Not too crowded, but at least four take-out orders, while we got settled and ordered soda. That's great that they stay busy! We both tried something different. Hubby got the Chicken Gyro Platter, which is four large pieces of grilled chicken, placed open-faced on a toasted pita, served with house-made tzatziki sauce and a greek salad. I tried the chicken and the salad, which were both excellent, but they could have included another piece of pita bread. I had the Loaded Steak Sub, which is tender grilled sirloin steak on a toasted New York style hoagie roll with provolone cheese and mayonnaise. The cost for it was $11.99, but you can add additional veggies for $1.49 each, or all three for $2.50, saving yourself $1.97 if you want all three. "Loaded" means I added green peppers, mushrooms, and grilled onions. Wish I would have read the fine print: "Lettuce & tomato optional. Served with potato chips & pickle spear." I could have gotten lettuce and tomato, because the extra toppings of green peppers, mushrooms, and onions gave me severe stomach cramps and heartburn. I'm sure it was just *MY* experience, as I'm certain there was nothing wrong with those veggies. I chose to upgrade to french fries, which cost an extra $2.49!!! That's a bit steep, without telling me the price. Chips would have been fine. I asked for tzatziki sauce to go, as my husband had half of his grilled chicken left, and it cost $1.99!!! I get it, restaurants cannot give food away, but next time, I'll either ask, or they should tell us the price before we add or upgrade menu items. Once you order, the menus are removed from the table, so you're blindly ordering without knowing the cost! Our server, Claire, was very friendly and attentive, checking on us often, bringing soda refills without being asked. She offered dessert, but we were full, so we asked for to-go cups & boxes. We tipped 25% and saved a little by paying in cash, rather than using a credit or debit card, which *IS* clearly printed on the receipt. They do have an ATM on site, in case you wish to pay cash. Bathrooms are older, but very clean, and a recent paint job. They must have fixed the handle on the toilet in the handicapped stall, as it flushed easily, where I had trouble in August. See photos, as everything was prepared fresh and hot, and generous portions. Next time, I may try the tuna sub, as I'm still recalling my former coworkers *RAVING* about it, and that was 5 years ago! Absolutely ridiculous. Acropolis has jacked their prices up yet again, and now it costs over $21 for a small gluten-free cheese pizza. That's not a deluxe specialty pie, that's just for a crust substitution. Outrageous. It feels like they're taking advantage of people with dietary restrictions. It's like they know people who need gluten-free don't have much of a choice and they're cashing in on it. I used to enjoy coming here, but this is insulting. There are plenty of other places in town that respect their customers and don't make you feel punished for having dietary needs. At this point, I'm done with Acropolis. read more

The baklava was delicious! Thats what gave them 2 stars instead of zero. Bruschetta was mostly onion, no basil, no Balsamic. It was really over powering and just gross. The athena pizza was tolerable. The toppings to 1 side I credit to door dash, how ever even when I spread the toppings over the pizza it wasn't great. The side with just cheese was better. In town to do some hiking and I needed some carbs, so this place fit the bill. I did pick up and the food was screaming hot and held up well to the drive. The chicken parm was run of the mill. Tasty, plenty of chicken, gigantic portion...nothing out of the ordinary. The cheese bread was...um, wow. There was probably a full pound of cheese on six slices of bread. I thought that this place would be as good as the other Greek/ Italian restaurants in the Asheville area. I was mistaken. I had the steak sub, they charge extra for potato salad instead of chips. The others don't do that. The potato salad was out of a container; not homemade. The meat was cooked the day before and very dry. the cheese was nonexistent and loaded with mayonnaise. They also charge extra for each of the following: mushrooms, onions, and peppers ( $1.49 each) $13.48 for just the meat and cheese??? What cheese? This is used to be a favorite pizza place for us. My hubby loves Greek salads, and Acropolis makes a huge one. The garlic knots are buttery and flavorful. The pizza is really good...lots of toppings. The customer service here is not good. We have had a few issues whether we eat-in or carry-out. I am sitting here right now. You now have to sit in The ice bar next door to get a meal. So cold inside the ice bar you can't stand it. Ask to have AC turned down. Was told they don't know how. I think that the very old-school Acropolis on Airport Road still has the best lamb gyro in the Asheville area. Real shaved meat, not the prepackaged stuff. Acropolis also has a decent pizza. And, in these inflationary days, it remains affordable. read more

I really didn't like the food here but I am extremely picky so I say try it yourself. Staff was really nice and the restaurant was clean with a 98% rating. The store has a in the middle of a shopping center with plenty of parking. Make sure you check in with Yelp because they offer free garlic knots with marina sauce!! read more

So..true story. My friend and I were in Asheville for an event and were trying to get downtown. The evening escaped us and suddenly it was dinner time and we had no idea what to do. We did not even have a chance to yelp anything as we were in a small shopping mall. My friend looked up and say.."hey..how about Greek?!" And this my friends...is our adventure to Acropolis. I was leary of this plan due to the sketchy nature of the area and the kind of touristy set up of the restaurant. However...fear not! This is a great place. Just about as homey and Greek-y as a person could want. They have a yelp check in coupon for garlic knots that are definitely worth it! Huge salads, lots of lamb and some great anti pasta. I just wanted something light so the waiter recommended that I order the anti pasta with a side of lamb. It was a large portion of meat. Two of us both ate our fill and took home some lamb for the next day. Everything was fresh and the service was fast and friendly. While I might have been nervous at the beginning I was so thankful I braved this place. It has to be a local hang out as it was packed to the gills when we got there. We even had a wait so you know the food has to be good. Recommend if you are in the area! read more

We ordered takeout Saturday night while visiting the Asheville area. We had a thin crust vegetable lovers pizza, antipasto salad and greek salad. All three dishes were fabulous! Sorry to say, I was very disappointed with the pizza itself, in fact, I have to say it was some of the worst pizza I have ever ordered/tasted, anywhere ... Update: Food was decent this go around. My grandmother enjoyed her veal dish; however, service was atrocious during this visit (this past Saturday). We stopped last night and had the best pizza ever! The service was fast, fresh and Delish! Mostly take out bc of the lack of folks wanting to work - like so many other places these days. But the accommodate by having outdoor dining and the bar is open if you want a beer or something to accompany the meal. Staff was so very friendly and helpful. We had a great night in with Acropolis pizza this week. My husband loves their pizza so he was happy but I'm a bigger fan of the Stromboli! Since we only had pizza I gave it a three. It was pretty cold when we got it and felt like it had been sitting for a while then reheated. It was our first takeout from them and we have had some better meals on site. Ordered takeout from here and it wasn't too bad! The dough was a little under cooked which is weird for a thin crust pizza. I reheated it in my air fryer and it was perfect. Before Covid it was great! Now not so much. Ordered lasagna and it was salty and tasted like it had been reheated several times. Garlic knots we dry, burnt and stale. Fish tank looked like it hadn't been cleaned in a very long time, can only imagine what kitchen is like! The restaurant is only open for take out except for Sunday's, so when you walk in there is no one to greet you and I waited about 8 minutes for some to come up front and help me!
