DO NOT DINE HERE IF YOU'RE A TRUMP SUPPORTER. I contacted guest relations about a negative experience where I was treated rudely by the bartender. I spoke to the GM to address my concerns. Before I could finish a sentence, he accused me of talking politics when it was the bartender doing such. He alleged customers complained about me talking politics, then I asked if he's a democrat. He hung up. I was alone minding my business when the bartender was using foul language, saying "F---ing Republicans" because Trump won the election. My car was parked in front with all kinds of Trump supporting stickers. After my waitress told me "no hurry" upon me paying the tab, the liberal bartender rudely shouted "hey buddy, we're closed." I asked for a manager but she refused. If you're a Trump supporter, make sure to hide your MAGA hat because you'll be targeted by a bunch of liberals. Food for thought. read more

Did a delivery order and it never even went past the 'order received' status. Too busy to even update status. Finally after 1 1/2 hours I called and cancelled the order. Don't depend on getting anything when you order delivery! read more

It has been some time since I been to an Applebee's Grill + Bar. The Applebee's in Hendersonville did not disappoint. Huge menu selection and with a large party everyone definitely found something on the menu. Ordered the house salad with blue cheese and the vegetables were fresh and crisp. Several of the kids ordered burgers and they were satisfied and even took the leftovers home. The french fries were very good. Steak was a little tough and a tad rare, but it was okay. The broccoli was soft and chewy. Someone else ordered the Salmon dish and liked it very much. Staff came back and checked to see if everyone needed refills on drinks as make sure we were all comfortable. Will be back for the burgers and try the ribs the next time around. read more

Not a fine dining place but the food is ok. we went on the spur of the moment cause it's closer than other places. The bartender who served us was awesome -- Amber. I was bummed out because they don't have Kendall Jackson Chardonnay anymore and their selections are not good. Applebees has had Kendall for 20 years!! Anyway won't be going back. yes for that reason. if we go out to dinner, we both want a wine and a beer that's not crap. read more

Same predictable menu with a few new offerings. Splendid server who checked on us regularly without being obtrusive. Perfect choices by the two of us: HUGE platter of appetizer nachos for him and my usual "go to"'appetizers of delish French onion soup and Caesar salad. And THEN-- the opportunity to take a survey. Now how many times has this happened and you are either entered into a drawing (which I NEVER win) or you get a free appetizer or dessert ON YOUR NEXT VISIT. Well, friends, Applebee's has added a new concept: take the survey on the tabletop kiosk and get immediate gratification. As soon as the survey is done, someone appears with a piping hot brownie bite topped with a scoop of ice cream and a drizzle of syrup. Well played Applebee's. No expiration, no "respond within 7 days, no come back to get a freebie. No sir! Sadly in our area at 9pm most everywhere is closed that would offer something more than greasy fries and $1 chicken sandwich. Fortunately Applebee's IS open and offers a wide array of items!! Which is great, until it comes to calling and ordering takeout..... If you opt to actually call rather than ordering online, it's a mad house if you have dietary restrictions and would prefer to swap some things out! The reason being, is because when you are ordering no longer are you talking to the bartender, Togo person, server, or even a hostess/host..... You're actually speaking to someone that is miles away, most likely not even in the same state. Call me old-fashioned... I just seem to prefer to speak to the people handling my food rather it being outsourced. Perhaps of ordering online Is the easiest option now. read more

Got takeout spent $50 left a huge tip very disappointed. Screwed up my entire order and didn't even get the shrimp I ordered and honestly the food was not that good. Best experience we have had. The customer service was impeccable because the server, Marissa provided suggestions and kindness. Although the restaurant was packed, the wait was still short. Well, I wanted a steak on a Friday evening and my date wanted no waiting...so we ended up at Applebee's. I should have remembered my last review. Again, they get the star for good service, but this is to rate a meal and there would still be 0 stars to give for the overpriced parmesean steak and shrimp that I ordered. To begin with the steak was definitely not 8 ounces, as a friend dining with us ordered a 6 oz one. It's pretty easy to see they were the same size and thinness. I ordered mine medium, it was smothered in more of a gravy than cheese and overdone and chewy with little flavor. I chose to eat it as it was rather than send it back since that rarely turns out well at any establishment. The shrimp were tender, not overcooked but covered in too much sauce. The broccoli was raw. Yep, it was. And the garlic mashed potatoes unimpressive. Now one thing that was really good was the $1.00 add on of a dozen double crunch shrimp. Hey, it's a good deal so yeah, I added it on. They were surprisingly large, tender, fresh tasting and delicious. In fact, I'd rate them up there to at least 4 stars maybe even 5 except I wasn't overpaying for them like my entree. So the rating stands for my over priced entree. So if you like your steak chewy and overcooked, go to Applebee's. (My friend's 6 oz was overcooked also, and reading back to the last time I ordered steak here, it seems they just don't care how it comes out. Excellent service and food. My family and I were in somewhat of a rush as we needed to drop our daughter off at sleep away camp, so we were really hoping for the best. We were seated right away, greeted within a minute, with a smile by our server Amber. She was efficient, took pride in her work and was very kind. I watched the management work the floor with his servers to make sure everyone had what they needed. The food was delicious and we left full, happy and on time for drop off. I would have to say that my experience at this location was the worst. The only reason why I am giving 2 stars is because of one of the servers took the time to address questions we had. Our biggest issue was we ordered an alcoholic drink and a nonalcoholic drink. We feel that they mixed up the drinks and they didn't even ask for ID. We hardly saw our waitress. We had charges on our bill that we were not told about, like a side of ranch. When I got the bill, the waitress assumed that I was paying online. Then I asked for some sauce and because the bill changed, she snatched the old bill and placed the new bill in front of me. With the prices going up, services have gone down hill. read more

A true hit or miss, depends entirely on the staff and the day. Menu is just like any other Applebees and if you happen to be there on a good day it is decent. On a bad your food may or may not ever arrive, if it does it will be over cooked. You might get lucky and be assigned a server who is really attentive but more often than not lately we have been disappointed. As a local I am not a fan. There are so many other options that you don't have to roll the dice for. Pick someplace else if you really want a decent dining experience. If you just want a beer and a place to watch this game this place is alright. read more

I HAVE GOOD NEWS AND BAD NEWS! The good news: On a Sunday night after 10 pm this was the only full service restaurant open in the area. When we first entered, we were only interested in taking our order to go. However, our waitress Carrie was so sweet that we decided to eat in and we knew that we would have a nice experience. My husband decided to have a small burger and onion rings while I went for the half-rack of ribs with mashed potatoes and green beans and cole slaw. After examining our order, Carrie advised that we could get what we wanted and spend less with their two for $20/$25 specials. We started with the hot and crisp onion rings which were very large and definitely enough to share. My potatoes and green beans were perfectly prepared and delicious. I was extremely pleased to see that they have replaced their previous cole slaw with a fresher version that has a kiss of cilantro. My husband was not very hungry so he ate a portion of his sandwich and saved the rest for later. He usually gets the largest and fussiest burger on the menu so I don't think he was too enthusiastic about his burger. It may have been just a bit too simple but it was exactly what he ordered. Now for the bad news: They have downsized the ribs! Nooooooooo!! Yes, they are now serving meatless ribs and that is indeed tragic. Although, they were well prepared, they contained very little meat and that is the ultimate deal breaker. So, skip the ribs and try another protein and don't forget the great sides! read more

The entire building reeks non stop. Each time I've gone in the span of 2 months...the floors are filthy, constantly smells like old mop water and dirty moldy rags. The food was cooked fine but the lettuce was wilted and rotted in the salads. The only good thing is the wait staff. They are very friendly and sweet. The service was really great. The decor is just like every other corporate restaurant. My food came out hot. I was displeased with the size of the chicken breast. The broccoli was cooked well. But the chicken breast came out and it was like chicken jerky. It was also about the size of 1/2 of a regular chicken breast. I don't give 5 stars to corporate chains and the size of the chicken breast and it being really overcooked led me to the 3 star review. Keep up the great customer service but BOH needs to look at what they put on the plate and think if it's a reasonable portion size. read more

The bartender Kerrie t serves patrons to the point where they can't walk. Went in to watch the World Cup match and these guys were clearly ripped and Kerrie sat there and did nothing while the two other patrons were being completely rude. Don't go here! One of the worst Applebees I have ever been to. Out of the three entrees my family ordered, not one person enjoyed their food. My sins strawberries on his salad were old and soggy and both the other pasta dishes were bland and tasted like they had been frozen and then microwaved. On top of that, the waitress spilled a lemonade all over my son and I! Sticky, sticky, sticky mess! You would think with a sticky drink spilled all over two of us that at least one meal would have been comped, but no. Can not believe a waitress can spill sticky stuff all over two customers and nothing is done to compensate. We live 3 hours away, not like we could run home and shower and change! My sister and I needed to get caught up, and decided to meet up at Applebees in Hendersonville. So many places to choose from in Hendersonville, and I`m so happy we chose Applebees!! Very pleasant atmosphere, and friendly staff. As a customer service representative for 19 years, I am very observant to how I`m treated when I`m out. Our server for the evening was very attentive, and definitely provided service with a smile. My sister and I knew we wanted an appetizer, but just could not agree on what we wanted. Dara, our server, took the time and effort to show us what we could choose from. We still couldn't make up our minds, and didn`t want to take up too much of Dara`s time, as it was quite busy on a Saturday evening. So we were about to give up on the appetizer, and just go straight for an entree. However, she took the time, and effort, to recommend something for us, and it was delicious!! After the appetizer, I had my entree which was a triple bacon burger with cheese. It was piled high with toppings, and a generous portion of fries to go with it. My sister enjoyed her entree, and had more than enough to take home, as did I. Before my sister and I were ready to refill our drinks, Dara our server, already had them filled, and delivered to our table. Our overall experience at Applebees this evening was excellent, and very enjoyable!! If you find yourself wondering where to go for an excellent dining experience, I highly recommend visiting Applebee's. We were so impressed with our server Dara, that we asked what evenings she works, which is Friday, and Saturday evenings. She seemed like she didn't want to be there, when I asked her the specials she got an attitude with me, I felt very unwelcomed. This had to be the worst take out I have had in my entire life! and it was over $50 I just spoke with Julian about my experience and explained the awful quality of the food and her response was its just because it was take out.... I proceeded to ask how to ensure I would get better quality food in the future as I love Applebee's food typically and she says I honestly don't know!
