BEWARE OF THE BILLING HERE. I did not see Dr. Valdez; I was seen by a nurse practitioner whose name I unfortunately cannot find in my records, and the office would not provide it to me when I asked. I went in for my annual women's wellness exam. I later discovered through my insurance that an additional $400+ office visit/consultation had been billed. I did NOT have a separate consultation or office visit. I did not request one, and I was never informed that I was receiving or being billed for one. I am now responsible for $341.44 for a service I dispute receiving. I am formally disputing the charge and requesting the documentation they believe supports it. If they cannot substantiate that this service actually occurred, I intend to report the billing to my insurance and the appropriate regulatory agencies. Check every single line of your insurance claims and bills before paying this facility. This is completely unacceptable. read more

I have never in my life been treated the way his front desk office staff treats you. They are the rudest people ever. I have been trying to go to this doctor for over 6 months and every time they gave me hard time. The worse part is when they say that your need is not urgent so I wasn't urgent when I was pregnant. I wasn't urgent when I had a miscarriage. I'm not urgent that I want to get pregnant again. Also I'm not urgent that I have fibroids so what is urgent to them. If not that's fine just say that there is no appointments and this is what we have but don't tell me my needs or I'm not important. If doctors office thinks like that then what kind of doctor is that one that doesn't care. I'm also filing a complaint against their office. Don't go to this doctor's office the worst ever!! They also say we are not fit for u when I told them you don't talk to patients like that. Dr Valdes has great bed side mannerism I always left his office confident and knew that if I need anything type of emergency during my high risk pregnancy he would be a call away or if not the doctor on call. The office staff was always nice and really care for their patience safety. Wearing masks can be annoying especially being pregnant but I didn't care because I know they just don't want people getting sick especially being pregnant and high risk I took this as a safety protocol . I would give 0 stars if I could. My personal experience here with my wife was shocking. Both of us being In the medical field we no and understand everything. We refused a shot he wanted to give and flipped out told us to leave since we're going against his medical advice. It's our right to refuse something we don't want. instead of educating us about it he told us to sign a form and leave . Instead of explaining what the shot is and giving us some piece of mind. He was so weird and disoriented . My wife cried and left. And I went up to him and asked why he's on OB doctor when he's talking to pregnant women like this. When his job nature is to make them feel safe and comfortable. Not freaked out , he told me this is the way I talk if u don't like it you can leave. Good thing I did and I switched hospitals. Please be aware!!! If you have PPO not only does the office charge you, but the hospital charges you triple the amount just because his office is in the medical building affiliated! This review is difficult for me to write because I just found out I am pregnant with my second. Dr. Valdes was my doctor throughout my first pregnancy and delivered my baby. I agree with a lot of the reviews here, he is nice enough and his bedside manner is kind enough to keep things slightly positive but I always left his office feeling like I wish I'd gotten more, that he didn't care much about me, things like that. It wasn't all negative, but not 100% great. Now, I'm thinking about who to choose for this pregnancy. And I thought maybe Dr. Valdes would be an OK choice compared to the headache of hunting for another reasonably good doctor. After all, he currently has 4 stars, right? Can I find someone better? .... But then I remembered the day of my delivery of my first. Baby girl delivered just fine, thank God, but I was given pitocin without consent afterwards to deliver the placenta. That's just so very wrong in my book. Also never talked to me about my thoughts on a birth plan or anything like that. (I lean towards more natural things but I'm not a major enthusiast, so I ended up not bringing a birth plan. I was surprised when the labor nurse asked if I had one. Why didn't he talk to me about that? Perhaps because he didn't want to encourage personal preferences?) I am pregnant and have been trying to get an appointment with this Dr. D/t complications with my insurance by the time I was able to make an appt I was 22 weeks pregnant. Meanwhile I have been constantly checking with the office to make sure that they will still take me - and every single time I was told Yes. Now that I'm in the office the office manager is telling me that he won't take me. She was being very rude and inpatient, and being irritated when I would ask questions and try to understand the reason as she has been giving me 10 different excuses irrelevant to the main issue. I wasn't even given a chance to meet up with the doctor and to discuss my options. All these weeks when I was fighting with my insurance I was being lied to by Dr. Valdez's office staff. P.S. Back in 2013 when I was seeing a doctor in that same office I had to change my dr. d/t the rudeness of the staff. It's been 10 years and nothing has changed. read more

Dr. Valdes is currently taking care of me for my first (YAHOO!) pregnancy after trying for seven years. Currently 26 weeks pregnant, I am considered a "risky pregnancy" (i'm 41 with thyroid issues) and he has been looking after me closely and I appreciate that. He was a little quiet at first, but he has good bedside manner and is thoughtful and patient, because I have bad anxiety (re: bedside manner: I am chunky and he has never body shamed me as Drs love to do) He is thorough in his tests for me, and I appreciate it. He has never once been rude to me or my husband. He returns calls promptly, and the turn around wait time for letters for work restrictions is literally, a day. Dr. Valdes is a good doctor and I appreciate him. If you are an anxious person like me, let your issues/needs be known right away. He listens. The front staff were a little intimidating at first, but like I said, we have warmed up to each other and it's nice. The wait time to see the Dr is never horribly long, I had it much worse on the west side. In regards to handling the current pandemic, be considerate, the front staff (who are just doing their job) is constantly getting yelled at by upset patients because their partners are unable to come into the appointments with them (hey, I admit, I am very sad my husband can't come in with me, but there's no need to take it out on staff.) The staff also makes you change your mask and gloves (should you come in with your own mask) as a precaution so that you don't contaminate the office with your personal flora and fauna. It's just a precaution. I have to do it, i'm not insulted. No big deal. Ohyeah, parking is validated in the office for $1. They don't take cards so bring some quarters. read more

I am very grateful to have been in Dr. Valdes's care. It took many weeks of finding a provider who would take me and I was happy to have been given a referral to him. From our first visit my husband and I felt so reassured that we were in the best hands. After a few visits I had a feeling our daughter would come early so I made sure to let Dr Valdes know what I would like as far as a birth plan. I am happy we did. On the day of our delivery I was able to have the support I needed in the room and give birth naturally which was very important for me. Dr. Valdes is literally the best well woman's health doctor there is. I just love him. I started seeing him when I was in my 30s. I'm in my 60s now. I had to stop going to his office due to my insurance but now I'm on medicare and came back. He's professional, warm and friendly and I will never go to anyone else. Based on my experiences Pre COVID-19 The office is always busy. Expect a minimum or 30 minute wait time. I have also run into issues with being skipped when I was still sitting there waiting (2.5 hours). Front desk also tried to cancel my appointment because I was 10 minutes late, mind you it was a one time event during my whole pregnancy. When I clearly had to wait over 30 Minutes almost every appointment i don't see how a ten minute tardy could throw them off so badly, anyway. I chose doctor Valdez because he came recommended by a friend. My initial experience with him was very pleasant, he seemed to care for me genuinely. Throughout my appointments things went well, he wasn't overly warm, but he was professional enough for me to be confident in my decision to have him lead me in such an important journey (first pregnancy). So why the one star, as far as prenatal visits go my only complain is that I don't have a single decent ultrasound( not a big deal now, since I can take all the pictures I want. But at the time it bothered me to not have any clear images before birth) The doctor deserves a one star because when it came time for my delivery he dropped in and informed me "I have plans tonight, I cannot come back for you." (While I am in labor, he managed to turn the most exciting and nervous day of my life into an argument). That was not the last of it, then he went on to bicker with my family who were there to support me. He pretty much wanted to do whatever to get to his plans and when I disagreed he decided he doesn't want me to come back as his patient. Guess what, I don't want you as my doctor at this point. I ended up giving birth with the on call doctor and he did not even stop by to apologize for his diva behavior. If you want to have any say in your physical care and be able to make a choice regarding your own body you should stay away from him. He does not like to be challenged whatsoever. Oh and he shamed me because I took epidural after I refused his plans to speed up my labor for his own convenience. All in all, during the brief time of my labor where he was my doctor he did things without clearly communicating what he was doing and was more concerned with structuring his schedule. He did find time to come quarrel though with a first time mom on her labor bed. Very disappointing!!! read more

They made me wait literally over an hour and called back people who arrived after me, first. The nursing staff was rude, wait time was disturbingly long and I would never recommend any woman visit this facility. What an AMAZING dr. I mean this guy is like a therapist. He is so kind, knowledgeable and makes even the toughest pregnancy's so easy. I had My son with him and he made the process so easy. I had to have a C-section and he went through everything step-by-step with me so that I was completely prepared. Every single doctors appointment with him was so relaxing. He comes in the room, sits down and really talk to you and takes his time with you. I've never been to a doctor that does that before. I asked him to discharge me the day after I had my son and he came in on his day off just so he can make sure I was released when I wanted to be. This guys amazing. And for Dr. Valdez, whom I think is the best OBGYN doctor out there, keep in mind, I already have 2 kids with two other doctors. And by far, I can really say he is the best in his profession. Not only does he truly care for his patients and will take care of all your concerns at any time of the day, even on weekends, he will go above and beyond to provide the best care for you and your baby. Dr. Valdes is an absolute star! There simply are not words for how much I love being under his care. He is compassionate AND thorough; he has the best bedside manner of any Dr. I have ever seen. I found him by doing thorough research when I found out I was pregnant and I am glad I researched well! Dr. Valdes has great ratings within the United Healthcare website, on Health Grades, on Google and, of course, here on Yelp. And rightfully so! Yes, you will wait a little while to see him but TRUST ME, the level of expertise and care you're DEFINITELY going to receive are more than worth any amount of time you will wait. When it's your turn to be seen, you can depend on Dr. Valdes to take his time, answer ALL of your questions and put you at ease throughout the entire process with his incredibly calming nature. He eased me during a miscarriage; he was so caring and encouraged my husband and I to try again if we chose to do so. He filled us with many reassurances, the major one being that our age wasn't a factor for the miscarriage (both 40 during the miscarriage) and I left that appointment feeling optimistic instead of sad. What an incredible man! His steadfast belief that we could and should try again, (with some helpful tips on ovulation kits) if we chose to do so, gave us the confidence to try again, and we now have the most amazing 2.5 month old Baby Boy! I can tell you right now, Valdes IS THE REASON I tried again. Without his vote of confidence, I wouldn't have felt brave enough to try again. Since the pregnancy, he has seen me for my 6 week checkup and assessed that I am suffering from PPD, which I knew, but he spoke to me with ZERO condescension in regards to what I am feeling. In fact, he said what I am feeling "is in no way a reflection of how I feel about my baby" and he is correct; I'm just riding that hormonal rollercoaster but love my baby beyond words! Men like him give women the voice to speak up about such a taboo topic and many women don't speak up about it at all in fear of being judged. I knew I could tell him and we have a game plan should I choose to follow it! My little boy chose to come into this world while Valdes was on vacation (so rare, he is ALWAYS available) and he prepared me for his departure. I am still saddened the delivery wasn't with Valdes as it was an extremely long 42 hours of delivery and I think he would have done a few things differently. However, I have to hand it to Dr. Lee, with whom I delivered, in that he remained patient and listened to an amazing nurse named Ani who was hellbent on seeing my wishes of a vaginal delivery come true. I was SO CLOSE to a c-section, and I knew that, but Ani wouldn't hear of it and she convinced Dr. Lee to wait. I'm happy to say that I delivered in the manner for which I'd hoped with Dr. Lee. Lastly, I was in the area of his office just a few days ago, and I popped in due to concerns of still lightly bleeding 10 weeks postpartum and, without an appointment, he allowed me to go to his office and speak with him!!!??? He is so amazing! He, once again, filled me with reassurances but offered to squeeze me into his patient flow for an ultrasound. I chose to stay and I was seen within 20 minutes. Exceptional quality of care! His staff are great too and I've never had a booking issue! Do yourself a favor and see Valdes if you're reading these reviews, wondering if he's the Dr for you. I may not want to judge a guy on one visit, but he was pretty great. I've been looking for a new OBGYN, someone who won't decide to NOT deliver any of my future children because it's his "day off." The "dreaded exam" was one of the easiest I've ever had. Dr. Valdes made sure to answer all of my questions thoroughly and seemed to be genuinely concerned about me, even though it was my first visit with him. I'm docking a star because I didn't get seen until 1hr15mins after my appointment time. Today is Saturday, June 18th, 2016 when I am finishing the editing of this review. I just wanted to put today's date here, in order to give you a more accurate time line of this review. Going to this doctor is the best thing you can do for yourself. He's a wonderful doctor who does his best to work with you, even if you have a "unique" first pregnancy like we did. Our first son was diagnosed with a terminal illness at 21 weeks (via amniocentesis) and Doctor Valdes did everything he could to help us assemble the best medical team possible for our son and he helped us to advocate for our son's right to medical care when many other doctors flat-out told me to just let my son die. I won't go into all the painful details of this part. Long story short, we wanted to choose life for our son (and I'm Pro-Choice because it should be a woman's right to choose which path she wants to take for her pregnancy, whatever that choice is) and Doctor Valdes helped us to help our son fight for as long as possible. We honestly expected to have our son for at least 7 or 8 months after he was born, but unfortunately he lost his battle at 37 weeks. When we came back to his office sometime later because we had a positive home pregnancy test, Yvonne was so happy and excited for us that she LITERALLY ran with my urine sample to do their pregnancy test and then she RAN back out to us, practically jumping for joy, to tell us, "YES! YOU'RE PREGNANT AGAIN!" Everyone was so happy for us and we had a wonderful pregnancy with Doctor Valdes and his staff there for the whole thing. Our second son is 3 1/2 years old now and we are so blessed. Oh, and the pictures on here don't do him justice - he is a VERY HANDSOME MAN! :) It's been a while since I've brought my little man there to deliver a tray of brownies for them and to show off my handsome little guy so I'll have to make it a point to do that again soon. My Doctor for all 5 of my babies. He is just wonderful. Caring, helpful and answers your questions, you only need to ask. He IS very busy, but only because he is a great doctor. Also remember he does leave to attend mother's across the street at the main hospital and could be on call at any time for a delivery or C-section. So yeah some days you might wait longer then others. But in my opinion you are waiting for his quality of service and expertise. On my last pregnancy I'm almost certain he saved my babies life. I had recently given birth to a healthy and handsome little Junior. I can't be more thankful that Doctor Valdes was the on call doctor. He is very helpful and answered my questions carefully like he was my original OB. I felt more comfortable with him than my original OB. I had a CSection with my first baby and wanted to have my second baby normal delivery. Some doctors will just tell you they can't do it and will keep pushing CS like its the only option. But with doctor Valdes he informed us of both options n let us know the percentage of risks of having vaginal delivery after a cs which is not very high and let us decide on our own which option we will take. We felt that he really knows what he's doing and I felt confident that he's gonna be able to help me have successful normal delivery. I had a vaginal delivery with no medications or epidural.
