I am speechless. I have never had an experience like this at a doctor's office. The care I received by Dr Rodgers and the entire staff honestly made me emotional. This is what medical care should be like. Walking in, I thought I accidentally walked into the wrong place. It looks nothing like a dr's office, more like a fancy spa. No fluorescent lighting, no dull lifeless furniture, no staleness. It's gorgeous! Even better, I was greeted by the sweetest receptionist. I often feel like I need to prep myself for battle when going into appointments. I get so worried I am going to be met with annoyance, won't be truly listened to or taken seriously, be rushed, or not be given the right care. My guard was up but it quickly melted away after checking in. After filling out some paperwork I was taken to the lounge (aka waiting room). I was still so confused how this mini paradise could be a doctor's office. There is also an outdoor lounge that is equally serene but it was a bit too cold to be out there. I sipped on some tea and kicked back on a comfy chair as I waited to be called in. After just a few moments, the nurse came in to ask if I needed anything else. I almost couldn't comprehend what has happening. Someone at a doctor's office was actually genuinely tending to me? After a few more minutes, I was called into a room. Again, so clean, modern, and beautiful. The nurse asked me some questions and listened to my answers thoroughly, even shared her empathy. For once, I didn't feel rushed. I told her how unusual this experience was so far and she laughed and said this is how it should be. She is so right. Then it was time to meet Dr Rodgers. Wow what a doctor! So personable, knowledgeable, patient, and kind. Again, listened to everything I had to say and gave me answers, explanations, and a plan. On my way to the next room, the nurse even offered to carry my stuff. What?! I know it doesn't sound like much but these little acts of kindness really mean a lot. Dr Rogers was able to examine me and assured me of my health right on the spot. No waiting to make other appointments to get tests done- they have it all here! The office is on Melrose so parking of course isn't the greatest. But I found metered parking pretty quickly and they also have valet in the back. Going to see a doctor, especially an OBGYN, can be such an anxiety filled experience- but not here. If you are looking for an OBGYN, I'm telling you, this is it. We all deserve good, honest, compassionate care. Thank you Dr Rogers and your incredible team. You have raised the bar!

I did not like our exchange. Will not be returning. She's very unprofessional and unpleasant. Extremely poor bedside manners!

I've been dealing with hormonal imbalance for the past four months. I'm currently with Kaiser and have seen nine different doctors, most of whom suggested anti-anxiety or antidepressant medication. However, I knew something deeper was going on. What I initially thought were panic attacks at night turned out to be hot flashes. I often felt dismissed and unheard, which was incredibly frustrating. My wife helped me research other options, and that's when we found Thrive. After reading so many positive reviews, I felt hopeful that I had finally found a place where I would be seen and heard. My first visit with the doctor was positive. She listened to my concerns and ordered bloodwork. However, after completing my labs, I had difficulty getting a follow-up appointment. My calls were not returned, and I eventually had to use the emergency text number just to get a response. I was told I had a phone appointment scheduled at 11 AM, but I never received a call. When I followed up, they offered me an in-person appointment later that day, which I accepted. During that visit, the doctor reviewed my labs and told me a pharmacist would contact me the next day to start testosterone treatment. Unfortunately, I never received that call. I want to be clear that I'm not trying to be difficult, but dealing with hormonal issues has significantly impacted my quality of life. I've been experiencing sleepless nights, restlessness, irritability, bladder issues, and an overall sense that I'm not functioning at my best. Given that this is an out-of-pocket service, the lack of communication has been extremely frustrating. I've since called and emailed multiple times without any response. Additionally, when you call their office, it goes straight to a generic voicemail that doesn't clearly identify the business, and messages are not returned. It feels like you have to constantly follow up just to get basic communication and even then, responses are inconsistent. I also want to add that I typically don't write reviews like this. However, if you are struggling the way I have been, I wouldn't want another woman to go through what I've experienced. I truly believe women should support one another and take each other's concerns seriously, and unfortunately, that has not been my experience here.

From the very beginning, he truly listened to my concerns and past experience. He never dismissed my fears and always took the time to explain everything in a way that made me feel informed, prepared, and confident. On the day of my C-section, his presence alone brought me so much peace. I felt safe, cared for, and reassured the entire time. What meant even more was his care after delivery. When I experienced a blood clot on Christmas Eve, he was there reassuring me, staying calm, and making sure I knew I was going to be okay. His ability to bring comfort during such a stressful time showed how deeply he cares about his patients beyond just the delivery. Thank you Dr. Tahery + Team!

I didn't even get to see the doctor because the office staff are so unprofessional and don't have any clue what HIPPA is. I am going to write a formal complaint to HHS but thought it's important to share here as well. During my visit, I was asked highly sensitive medical questions (including details about my Pap smear results) at the front desk, in full earshot of other patients. When I expressed that this was inappropriate and made me uncomfortable, the staff continued asking these questions. It did not stop there. When I was brought in for vitals, the area was open with no real privacy, and I was again asked personal medical questions while other individuals were nearby and could easily hear. I clearly stated that I was not comfortable discussing this information in front of others, yet the questioning continued. Regardless of intent, discussing private health information in public or semi-public areas especially after a patient objects shows a serious lack of regard for patient dignity and confidentiality. I strongly encourage this office to review its privacy practices and ensure that patients are given a safe, private environment to discuss sensitive health information. Patients deserve to feel respected and protected, especially in a medical setting.

I was referred to this office for my first pregnancy and when I went in for my first ultrasound at 7 weeks, the baby was measuring at only 5.5/6. Dr. Tamayo was skeptical that I knew when I ovulated, and believed that it was just too early. When I told her that I was tracking my ovulation and even showed her my calendar, she laughed nervously and then just kept saying, "Well if you think you know, then..." but wouldn't finish the sentence. I was sent for HCG testing at a separate lab, two days apart. On the day I was to receive a call about my HCG results, the office's phone lines were down. Every time I called I got a "Call Failed" notice. I was so desperate for information that I called another office in the same building and asked if they could go to the office and see what was going on. I was told that their phone lines were just "down," and that they would call on Monday. This was a Thursday. There was seemingly no recognition of the stress this situation could cause a patient and no effort made to contact me to alleviate any of it (I'm pretty sure someone in the office had a cell phone they could have used). Once I got the call on Monday, I was told that my HCG looked good and to come back in a week. I felt like something wasn't right, though, and pushed to speak to Dr. Tamayo. Melina then got very impatient with me, telling me that the Dr. didn't have time to talk to me on the phone because I was "one of many patients, and if she talked to the phone with every one of them, she wouldn't have time for appointments." Feeling pretty appalled and brushed aside, I snapped and told her just get me an appointment, after which she told me that I needed to treat her like a human being. My thoughts were, "likewise!" It turned out that the baby wasn't growing and I went forward with Misoprostol to miscarry at home, per Dr. Tamayo's orders. I went in for a follow-up 3 weeks later, where Dr. Tamayo informed me that the miscarriage was complete. However, I continued to feel sick. A month and a half later I ended up in the ER, where a much more thorough ultrasound showed that I had leftover pregnancy tissue in my uterus. I ended up getting a D&C with a different doctor, because at this point I had lost all trust in Dr. Tamayo and her office. A miscarriage is painful enough without the added pain of feeling ignored, and trivialized by your doctor. Moreover, there is no after hours line where you can call and get advice from a doctor. You are basically told that if you aren't having a life threatening emergency, you can't talk to anyone outside of business hours, but as my story proves, you can barely talk to anyone inside business hours, either! It also bothers me that no one ever answers the phone at the office. You have to call and leave a voicemail and then Melina calls you back later. If anyone has bothered to read this review this far, know that I believe Dr. Tamayo to be a capable doctor, but one who has no business working in obstetrics if she can't commit to after hours care, reliable phone lines for her patients, and empathetic staff who can handle difficult situations. I would definitely not recommend this office to anyone, especially for first-time pregnancies
